Hey Dolls,
So I'm starting a new series called Beauty Question of the Week (QOTW). I hope to post these every Monday. Basically I'll just be asking a beauty/makeup and sometimes fashion related questions that I'll answer but that I also want you all to answer in the comments. In fact the most important part of this series is YOUR answers as I'm curious to how everyone else feels about these random subjects. I felt like this would be another great way to connect with my readers =] So please make sure to join in the discussion =]

This week the question is :
Do you find you wear more of a bold eye, bold lip, both, or neither?
♥ I’ve found that I’m a bold eye kind of girl-looking back over most of my fotd’s I have a bold eye with a pretty nude or understated lip. I'm drawn to shadows and usually bold shadows. While I do love a bold lip, I think I just prefer to play up my eyes with shadow.

Swatches: CoverGirl Lip Perfection Lipsticks

Hey Dolls,
Today I have some swatches for you all. I recently picked up a few of the CoverGirl Lip Perfection Lipsticks that are fairly new because I just loved the cute little packaging. This isn't a review but more so I wanted to share with you swatches of the colors I did pick up. I will say that I do love them and plan to pick up more in different colors. They are very creamy and do not dry my lips out. I wore eternal on Valentine's Day and it stayed on the ENTIRE day I swear! No feathering or drying, it was awesome.

REVIEW: Maybelline FIT ME foundation

Maybelline FIT Foundation in 355
Price: $6.99 at target.com (although I’m sure if purchased at a drugstore you will be able to find it on some type of BOGO at some point)

What the website says: It's makeup that fits you. No oils, no waxes, no nonsense
Natural coverage that leaves skin the way it was meant to be…fresh, breathing, natural
Exclusive translucent base and lightweight pigments allow skin's natural highs and lows to show through. Non-comedogenic, dermatologist-tested

What I say: This foundation is very lightweight and does give a very natural coverage. I would say light to medium depending how you apply it. I applied it with my Studio Tools duo fiber brush (take a look HERE) but I’m sure it would have given a heavier coverage had I applied it with my MAC 190 brush. I did not think it lasted very long, I would say after a few hours it had pretty much seemed to evaporate from my face. The first time I used it I did not set it with a powder just to test the foundation. The second time (and each time after) I used it I set it with my MAC MSF powder in Deep Dark and it did help with the last factor (although not much longer).

Pros:
18 shades to choose from
Powder, concealer, blush, and bronzer, which are supposed to coordinate with the foundation and to your skin
Packaging is aesthetically appealing, very high end looking which I love. Nice sleek bottle
The price tag

Cons:
Doesn’t last very long (at least it didn’t on *my* skin)
No pump (but for the price can’t really complain too much)
For the 355 color, to me the powder looks extremely too light so I wasn't willing to purchase

This is just to show you what my face looks like bare and I believe I had even forgotten to put on moisturizer before I took this pic (those brows tsk tsk-trying to grow them out a little bit, don't judge me lol)...

...And how my skin looked after FITME was applied (I've also filled in my brows and I believe I did put some concealer under those eyes-just a tiny light coverage)
**This was also with no powder over top to set**

Overall...
This product was OK. If you are looking for a natural coverage foundation, this *may* be for you. I can’t complain about the coverage because it covered just as Maybelline described. For my taste, I prefer a medium to heavy coverage in a foundation otherwise I’ll use a tinted moisturizer. I can’t say it was horrible but unfortunately I can’t rave about it. I wore it for about a week and a half and I can say that each day I had to touch up my face a million and one times. I do *not* have extremely oily skin however with this foundation you definitely would have thought so. After application it did seem to immediate develop shine (if you look at the photo above you can see the dewiness just several minutes after application) and after a few hours it seemed to disappear as though I was not wearing anything on my face at all. Although the price is right I would rather spend a few extra dollars and just get my Revlon Colorstay because unfortunately for me this just wasn’t worth it.

Haven't done one of these in forever and a day...and guess what! I'm late posting it, lol. I actually wore this on Valentine's day and I'm still wearing it now. I had applied this Sunday night.
Enjoy!

Oh and don't mind my paint job lol...it was done in a rush, I went back over them and perfected before Monday came along =]

And on a side note, let me say this Seche Vite is awesome! I love it. No more smudgy nails or ruined manicures--with this stuff in like 2 minutes you are good to go! I used to have to wait to paint my nails when the kids were in bed so I wouldn't be bothered with having to get up and get a snack or something for them lol but now I can paint them in the middle of the day!...sometimes it's the small things =]

I did a look today using the WNW palette I purchased in my drugstore haul (if you missed it, click here). I really like this palette and I can see so many looks stemming from these three colors. I actually remembered (well had time to) take photos of most of the products I used.

Glamorously Savvy...I'm Getting Sunburned while Naked

Hey Dolls,

(Don't mind my cheesy title lol)
I got a pretty good response from my post on Up the Amp dupe (if you missed it you can find it HERE), so I'm back with another post to my Glamorously Savvy series. I love finding dupes to products. As I'm on a budget it's not always practical to spend $14+ on a shadow especially when there is a dupe for it at the drugstore possibly less than $5 =] So I know a lot of people missed out on the Naked palette, and apparently it's still in pretty high demand. Well if you missed it don't worry because there are plenty of dupes out there for the gorgeous neutral shades the Naked palette has.
Wet-n-Wild has really stepped it up. They've also released some new colors to their 3 color palette. I'm a huge fan of their 6 color palette but I've come to love their 3 color palette as well. So as you saw from a previous post (read it here), I did a very mini haul at the drugstore and picked up two new palettes from their line. After getting home with my goodies I realized that the colors in the I'm Getting Sunburned palette could be easily dupable (is that a word?) for some of the colors in the Naked palette

As you can see they are not EXACT but hey for what it's worth they are pretty darn close don't you think.
The top three swatches are from the WNW palette (aren't they so pigmented!) and the bottom three from the Naked palette ( Sidecar; Hustler; Smog)
The WNW palette I got for $1.99 and the Naked was $44 (I could be wrong, I forget it was awhile ago)...pretty big difference huh?

I hope everyone is having a fabulous day! I just wanted to write quick post with a FOTD from yesterday. I can't remember what products I used as I did it early in the morning and was rushing out the door.

On a side note have you ever opened a bag of sugar the wrong way and spilled it all over yourself and your kitchen floor??? ugh...if not hope you never do because it sucks. I swear it went everywhere...it took FOREVER to clean up...I should have taken a picture lol

Wet-n-Wild Haul

Hey Dolls,

I love Wet-n-Wild...they've soo stepped up their game. I remember when I was younger and first started wearing makeup (I mean FIRST started) and my mom and I would be at the grocery store and I would always want a gloss or a lipliner or something and I would always pick up the WNW because they were so cheap. As I grew up I stopped wearing them because my mom told it would break me out lol and upgraded me to some different brands. However, since then I've revisited my childhood makeup of choice I guess you would say, and boy let me say they have definitely become a little force to be reckoned with haha...I mean some of their shadows can give MAC a good run for its money (in my opinion of course). The best part about it? They're sooo cheap!! I love it. I'm a little embarrassed because I own way too many of these WNW palettes, lol...Anyway I picked up two of their tri-color palettes the other day and wanted to share.

OMG the colors in the I'm Getting Sunburned palette are absolutely gorgeous and super pigmented. I like the other palette too and know it will be super cute once I put a primer underneath. But I still think it's great bang for your buck.

MAC & Drugstore

I went to MAC the other day to browse and walked away with a few goodies...

Also the Wonderwoman collection is coming out for MAC Feb 10th (I think...) in stores...do you plan on buying anything? I haven't seen too much that has caught my eye except the Golden Lariat MSF (I think that's what it's called, lol). Oh and I sooo didn't know that I couldn't use my MAC giftcard at a counter, imagine my disappointment when I got to the register and they told me they didn't accept them, boo! Oh well I guess I'll just use it on the Wonderwoman collection.

Then I went to the drugstore and picked up a few things

January 2011 favorites

So I haven't done one of these in FOREVER!!! Hopefully I'll get back into the routine of doing these monthly. I'm hoping to get myself on a posting schedule also.
Anyway the month of January was an extremely busy one for me if you follow me on Twitter you'll notice I have been MIA lately but for good reason. Anyway I am settled into my new house and things are finally beginning to calm down and return to normal. Needless to say my makeup routine this month has been very quick and to the point as you can see by the products used lol...

A very basic look has been my staple and while I've put on shadow here and there I can hardly categorize any of them as a favorite for January. (oh and fyi my lips do look a little white not because they are chapped but I was doing a lip treatment lol and forgot to rub it off before taking the photos, oops!)
The lineup:
♥ MAC Prolongwear concealer in NC50; Revlon Colorstay in Caramel; RImmel Lash Maxx in Blackest Black (btw I love this mascara. If you've ever noticed my lashes when I don't have falsies on-my header photos for example-my lashes are CRAZY! and no amount of curling, hot curling, or mascara layering will change them, hence why I usually just throw falsies on, but this stuff really separates them as best as I've ever experienced lol); MAC MSF in Deep Dark; MAC paint pot in Groundwork; Loreal liquid liner pen....not shown: brow powder, blush (I do vary the shades from day to day), MAC Gold Deposit, and I do vary my lipcolor day to day also).

I've been loving a winged liner with just Groundwork as a base on most days, it's a really nice clean easy look that still gives that glam factor =]

On a Side note I have committed to doing some construction on my blog to make it a little more aesthetically appealing =] so bear with me while the changes do take place...If you've done a favorites post for the month of January I want to see!! Leave a comment with the link to your post...

Makeup is great...but is YOUR skin FAB? --upcoming series: Back to Basics

Hey Dolls,

Lately while I still love makeup, I have really been focusing on my skin and taking care of it. Makeup is great of course I LOVE it!! However, let's be real putting makeup on skin that's been neglected is kind of a bummer. I mean I, for one am not impressed to walk into a makeup store or to a counter and the person trying to sell me makeup has not so great skin underneath her makeup. Now I understand some things can't always be helped such as that breakout we sometimes get before our monthly little friend...but in general makeup should ENHANCE not MASK...in my opinion of course.
I am looking for a new skin care regimen as I'm not really feeling my current one anymore. I don't really need acne treatment but more so products that will help prevent aging etc and that promote skin that is luminous and not dull. Any suggestions??!
(And on a side note-the way our skin looks is not just dependent on the skin care products we use on the outside but what we put INTO our body as well. Drinking lots of water (staying hydrated), eating fruits and veggies all contribute as well.)
So with this being said my next post may not necessarily be about makeup but we are going to start the new year off with the basics...basics of skin care that is. So ta-ta for now my lovelies--I shall be back later this week with a post to kick off the series...

So this look was from a few days ago but since I was just now able to buy a cord (I kept forgetting lol) I'm just now uploading these and wanted to share. So I believe this day I was going to do a little bit of shopping with the family followed by some lunch. It was pretty cold and I was getting sick so excuse me if I look a little puffy and sick...

Well all I want for Christmas is really a misleading title because it tends to lead one to think I only want one thing for Christmas, lol...and if you know me that is super far fetched =] Yes Christmas is about family and Jesus and giving but I mean really who doesn't want something??
So I thought I'd share with you most of my Christmas wishlist today. I actually usually never make a list (well since I had kids) because my focus is usually the kids. So whenever anyone ask me what I want I get flustered because I don't have a list made. Now for the most part I know I won't get most of this stuff, why? Not because my hubby doesn't adore me lol but we are moving across the country (yikes!!!) in a matter of days after Christmas. So I'm sure if you do the math you'll come to the conclusion that moving cross country isn't cheap. My wish list isn't exactly cheap either sooo... something's gotta give and yes I'm an adult with some sense so it will be my wish list that will suffer. But that's okay because I'll be on the look out for these gifts as the year goes by *wink*...and isn't that half the reason it's called a WISHlist?

Update: My everyday look + tools

Hey Dolls,

So since I haven't really been wearing a full face every single day lately and have been more into the no makeup made up simple look I decided to share with you all my routine and the results of basically how I look everyday.

So here is what I've been looking like pretty much everyday this fall. Very simple.
**oh excuse my oily face, this was at the end of the day, no touch ups whatsoever**
So what products did I use to create this look? Trust me it's easy. Actually it should be more so a 5-minute makeup look for everyday but I would be lying if I said it took me 5 minutes to do this. Not because it wouldn't take a *normal* person 5 minutes but because I'm not anywhere near normal this seems to take me like forever, but then again I'm really slow and like to look at my makeup and open and close drawers and look at shadows knowing good and well I'm not putting them on lol. Anyway here's what I used:

Review: Sedona Lace 120 Palette II

Yes it's moi AGAIN...what 2 post in a week? lol I'm on a roll...
Anyway I'm just catching up on some reviews that should have been given like decades ago but I'm just now getting around to it.

Today I'm reviewing the Sedona Lace 120 palette II which I purchased the same time I purchased the Sedona Lace pink Brush Roll.
I must say this palette is really pretty and for $28.95 you can't beat 120 pigmented shades. Take a look:

Gorgeous colors...

Now I haven't tried EVERY single shade in the palette but of the shades I've tried they are gorgeous and very pigmented. I haven't encountered any chalkiness or anything.

Of course the logical thing to follow right now would be a FOTD showcasing a look I did with this palette but while I've tried out the colors I don't have one for you YET...lol. I will work on puttin together some looks possibly for the holidays using this palette and will make sure to post them BEFORE the holidays are over =]

I don't really have anything negative to say about this palette at this time and yes I would definitely repurchase. My order arrived quickly and it was packed very nice and neatly so none of the shadows were broken.

Review: Sedona Lace Pink Brush with Brush Roll

Hi My name is Sarai and Welcome to my blog, Glossy Glam...lol Ok but seriously--allow me to reintroduce myself, ok just kidding. Seriously this time, I feel like I've been gone forEVER and like I've seriously lost touch with my blog and my readers. There has been so much going on with me and while I would love to promise I will be blogging on a regular basis from now on I can't exactly promise that just yet. Why is that you ask? Because yet again I am moving across the lovely country =] sooo as you can imagine I will be a busy busy bee in the next few weeks. But I do promise to blog when I can (girl scout honor...well that doesn't mean too much because I wasn't one but yeah you get the point)

So anyway how has everyone been? Enjoying the holidays? Well I'm not, lol...moving during the holidays is not exactly my idea of fun nor is it a recipe for holiday cheer. But enough about me...and on to this review.
I've had these brushes for quite awhile now - since the summer to be exact I believe. Yes I've waited until now to do this review. For awhile they sat in their nice little brush roll just looking pretty. They were so pretty I didn't want to use them. Buuut I guess in order to give an accurate review I had to use them at some point huh? Ok well let me just say that up until I purchased these brushes I had really only used MAC brushes with a few Sephora and other randoms thrown in. I like MAC brushes but sometimes the price just isn't right (at least for my pocket that is lol). So when I heard through the blogosphere about these gorgeous little lovelies I had to get my hands on them. The best part, aside from the pink of course, was the price. 12 professional brushes for $50?! And from the reviews I read and watched they were worth the $50. Sooooo here is my take on them...

Ok like I said there are 12 brushes, included in the set are: (l to r)
-a large powder brush (I absolutely adore this brush)
-duo fibre brush (while I love this brush I must say I do love my Studio Tools brush a little better)
-angled contour brush-I use this for blush sometimes but I still find I reach for my MAC blush brush the most
-foundation brush-I tend to use this to put on my primer and when I use it for foundation it's to get more coverage
-large shader brush-used to put color over the entire lid
-eye shading brush-this brush is very flat and dense so it makes it easy to really pack on the color, love this brush
-tapered blending brush-I use this to blend my crease or whatever else needs blending on my eye
-medium angled shading brush-can be used to apply highlight shade underneath the brow-I don't use this brush too often though
-pencil brush-used for precise application of shadow to the crease, lower lash line or lash line
-concealer brush-I use this brush everyday to apply my concealer to my face (and then I use my ring finger to blend it in :0 lol)
-small angled brush-this can be used for gel liner, I tend to use this brush to define my brows with concealer underneath if that makes any sense
-eye liner brush-I really don't use this brush too often either lol but if I did I would use it for making a shadow into a liner

So my final take:
Pros:
♥Affordable-12 brushes for $50? awesome in my book...and you get a brush roll which is great for travel!
♥Good quality brushes for the price
♥IT's PINK!!!

Cons:
♥ It's pink and I realize that may not be everyone's favorite color, lol
♥ at the time I purchased they seemed to be out of stock a lot which was just a minor annoyance =]

Would I repurchase? Yes I would

Hey Dolls,

Well here it's been pretty rainy for the past week or so, I love rain because it gives me kind of an excuse to slow down and hang out in the house a little bit-which I hardly get to do. Well at some point I get restless and I have to go somewhere regardless of the weather and that is exactly how I felt this past Thursday. Since rain doesn't exactly make me feel like dressing up or anything I went with this comfy casual little outfit...

Random Glam: Croc Embossed Note Cards and More...

Hey Dolls,

Well since I'm getting back into the posting habit I thought I'd start off with something totally random but fabulous! I picked up these fabulous note cards and thank you cards from Target a few weeks ago. I was invited to a dinner and was picking up a hostess gift and 'somehow' wandered into the stationary section and found these gorgeous little things. I absolutely love stationary and I know it's so old fashioned but I guess I'm just not with the email for EVERYTHING...a nice handwritten note goes a long way and who doesn't like to feel a little extra special every now and then? I think it's fabulous and so classic when someone gives me a handwritten note to say thank you, but that is just me. Anyway the croc embossed note cards were $5.99 and the thank you cards were $3.99 & $4.99. I haven't even opened the thank you cards but I know they will come in handy one day. So if you're into that type of stuff or not and just think they're fabulous to have sitting on your desk go pick them up-trust me they are so fab!

Hello again Dolls,

Where have I been? Well if you missed it click HERE to read an update on why I've been MIA the entire summer...moving right along...
So I'm pretty excited, I finally was able to order the Sedona Lace pink brush set (with brush roll) that I've been wanting to try forever it seems but they've been out of stock. Well they finally restocked and I finally ordered tonight-yay! I've read that they are comparable to the Sigma Brushes -which I would still like to try - but once I receive them and use them I will make sure to give a thorough review of them. I also ordered their 120 pro palette II which I'm looking forward to trying as again I've heard very good things about them. I have some reviews coming up for you guys also:
*lipstains - Maybelline, Revlon, Covergirl & the Balm
*Lorac shadows
*Wet n Wild polish
*Smashbox creme liner
along with some other things....

Next up I have an OOTN (outfit of the night) for you guys that I wore like maybe in July when my husband and I went out for date night =]

We went to a Martini Bar in Downtown-very nice and classy, then we went to some little clubs downtown also. Very good night.
The dress I'm wearing is from Forever21 and although you can't see the shoes they are black booties. I had a smoky eye which you can't really see because I didn't really do a beauty shot and I kept my jewelry very minimal and I've been doing the entire summer =]

Hello Loves...I'm Back...again =]

Well hello there Dolls,
I know I have been gone the ENTIRE summer, but summer is probably the busiest time of year for me. Kids are out of school, lots of fun things to do-beach, amusement parks, family get togethers etc...but now that things have begun to wind down for me I will be back posting on regular basis. I am sad to see summer go...even though I did NOT enjoy the heat-it was nice to pull out the summer clothes and shoes.

A lot of has happened this summer, I think in my last post I told you guys I moved across the country back to the East, well soon we'll be moving again but this time hopefully overseas =] *fingers crossed and praying*. Um let's see I'm coaching my daughter's cheerleading team which takes me back to my million years as a cheerleader; I finished undergrad *thank God*--now to look for a job to pay those lovely loans the government hands out.
On a different note-my summer has also been full of shopping, shopping, dinner parties, more shopping, luncheons, traveling, weddings, shopping....oh and did I say shopping? I unfortunately would love to do a huge haul but yeah that will most likely not happen. For one I can't remember everything I've bought and two I really just do not feel like going back through it all. But as I do OOTD's and more fashion post I will make sure to let you know where I purchased what etc.
I've also found a new love for DIY projects around the house and fashion wise so I'll be sharing those with you guys too!
I'm in the market for a new camera-I'm thinking the Nikon D3000 (is that what it's called?)...I've been wanting to get more into photography but my attention span is so bad so we'll see how long that last. Umm I'm trying to think what else has been going on...oh yeah I'll be having a blog sale (for real this time I swear it!) because I do have some makeup, clothes and shoes that are taking up space that I would like to get rid of and pass on to a new home. What have you all been up to? Even though I haven't been posting and commenting I have been reading your blogs-so I promise to get back to commenting-I miss my blogger friends! Well I hope everyone had a great summer and is ready for fall-great fashion in store huh lol...til next time my dolls

OOTN: Sex and the City 2 Premier

Hey Dolls,

Sorry I've been away so long-this move cross country is finally underway so I've been quite busy. Once I get settled I'll have some posts for you guys as I do have some things to review and swatch for you =] Also I wanted to say *hello* to my new followers, thanks so much for following and taking the time out to read my little space on the net, lol

Ok now on to my OOTN-obviously I went to see Sex and the City the night it came out because I'm pressed, lol. One of my girlfriends came with me-we went for appetizers before the movie and a couple cocktails afterwards =] It was a great night full of fun--the movie was so good too. I loved it, I know it got mixed reviews but I really did like it-one of my fave parts was when Miranda and Charlotte were sitting, drinking, and talking and Miranda kept saying -'take a sip' (or something like that)...being a mommy I could totally feel Charlotte-haha. The fashion was also outrageous-loved every minute of it. If you haven't seen it-make sure you do!

So for my OOTN (outfit of the night), I wore my Kardashian for Bebe dress I bought during their first collection. Since we went so late it was kind of cool out so I was grateful for the longer sleeves, lol. Anyway I was so excited to wear it because I hadn't worn it since I bought it. I kept my jewelry very simple-just studs in the ear and I wore my black open toe booties that I bought from Target awhile ago (although in the pix you can't really see the shoes), the belt came with the dress.
Sorry for all the writing-I'm in a very talkative mood today, lol
