Because there is limited access to light, and energy from
the sun is necessary even on the dark side of the earth, which
hasn't harnessed any other energy source, the light-siders try to
maintain a monopoly on the light, and oppress the dark-siders at
first economically, and then in other ways, as they control a
precious commodity: sunlight. They have strongly discouraged
research into alternative energy (and make false claims about the
dangers of various alternatives), such as geothermal energy,
because it would undermine their hold on the dark-siders.
However, some dark-siders resent this oppression, and the

Nicolas on one of his bored days decides to get our that
old floppy he bought. He spends the day breaking through the
code, wondering how someone could make it that complex. He spends
days working on it with almost manic energy. He
doesn’t know exactly why it has become such a
priority, there is just the problem to solve and nothing else. He
breaks in and is blown away by what he finds. He spends a few
hours looking over the material when the some guys in suits (the
ICC) come in, nothing big just a few undercover agents(Nicolas
doesn’t know this of course) checking a tip from
some friends of his at school that said they
haven’t seen him for awhile and he was talking
about some thing he found in a thrift shop. This spooks Nicolas
and is no completely sure of the sensitive nature of the floppy
disk he just cracked. The next few days new kids are showing up
at school. Nicolas finds it an odd coincidence that the ICC
showed up and new kids came into the school. Plus they seem to be
following him. He gets really spooked and hides the floppy. A
week later when things cool down, the new kids corner him and
give him an interesting invitation to talk to them later. First
he thinks it’s something to do He accepts and
finds out that he was now talking to Jack’s team
(note: need a whole new group of character) (though the only
thing he knows about Jack is he wrote the code on the floppy) He
returns home finding is ransacked. During the ransacking the
floppy disk was broken not knowing its true value. An agent shows
up lecturing him on why this was necessary. He is essentially
trying to brainwash Nicolas with his silver tongue. Nicolas is
almost convinced because Nicolas is a good kid why would he want
to do something illegal but something the team said prior changes
Nicolas’s mind and the whole mood of the
conversation. The agent leaves frustrated and with no
“real” legal authority he
can’t arrest Nicolas. When Nicolas is trying to
clean up his wreck of house and trying to find a way to explain
thing whole thing to his parents jack’s team
shows up and tries to explain the situation. Nicolas already
knows he has chosen sides and spills what happened earlier that
afternoon. The team obviously needs him because of the
information in his head. The team now needs to get out of the ICC
jurisdiction (the country) to actually use the information
because after Jack’s fiasco all their previous
assets were frozen. Down the line the team finds out it is not
just the ICC but Conap and conap’s reach is
global. (note: Theme used :team of kids taking on a
