Gnome Games offers all Full Time students with Great Grades a reward for your hard work!

Here’s how the Gnome Games Great Grades Program works –

First you have to have Great Grades.  We are talking all A’s and B’s.  Have a C? try harder next time.  D’s or F’s you probably should pay better attention in class and study a whole lot more.  To get into the Gnome Games Great Grades program you have to be a Full Time Student and have all B’s or better on your current semester report card.  College & Tech School means 3/4 time or more.

After you get your semester report card bring a copy to either Gnome Games Store. If you have B’s or better we’ll figure out your GPA for the semester (not cumulative) and give you your GPA * 10% off any purchase of new merchandise you’d like to make! If all your grades are A’s you’ll get 40% off!  The Great  is good on new stuff so single cards and used books are not part of the program.

We also ask that this be used for games you play.  While it’s cool that you want to help Mom build a monster army to beat Uncle Dilbert with when they play Flames of War Saturday night, she didn’t sit through those classes, write those papers and take those tests.  You did – so you get the rewards.  We just aren’t fans of people exploiting other peoples hard work.

You can use the Gnome Games Great Grades program once per semester for a total of twice a year.  If you are on a Trimester program pick your best 2 to use.  We will put you into our handy dandy Gnome-puter system to keep track of stuff like this.   You will have 30 days after the end of a semester to use your report card.

Don’t worry if you get a numerical grade or +’s and –’s we can figure that out with our Gnomish Grade system, so grab your report card and get to the Gnome today!

With the release of Emperor Edition we have been introduced to new colonies, an enormous region claimed by Rokugan and formerly known as the Ivory Kingdoms. This vast sprawling land has only been partially settled over the 25 years since the Destroyer War, and as such has been claimed with caution and planning; as there are many terrible secrets lingering in the dark jungles where a majestic kingdom once stood.

The decrees of the new Imperial Emperor have changed how the land may be explored and claimed, and recently we have seen the formerly minor organization known as the Imperial Explorers come to prominence. They have recently announced a position of Master Sensei of the Imperial Explorers and we would like to forward a champion to that post to benefit the Bay of Green Coral.

The Clan claiming the most victories during the storyline will determine the clan affiliation of the Master Sensei.

The Gnome Games Storyline Tournament will be held this Sunday at the Gnome Games Tournament Center starting at 1:00. Entry is $25 and each player will receive a random starter deck to play with. All Tournament Matches will be reported to effect the storyline.

Gnomish miners under the hire of the Head Gnome exploring  Innistrad have uncovered what appears to be a cache of ancient Helevault monoliths.

We have secured two of these rare monolithic artifacts and will unveil them at both Gnome Games stores in April.

According to gnomish researchers each Helevault is rumored to contain some ancient artifacts of power, mystical in nature which has been lost to memory. Whether this was intentional by the creators or if it was simply forgotten is not clear, but ‘ We have reason to believe that there is a significant amount of material stored inside each Helevault that could be some of the most valuable artifacts and memorabilia ever discovered in Innistrad history.

“We believe the symbol scribed on the base of the Helevault is the key . . .” said Spencer Laubenstein of the Gnomish Artificers. We all hope they can figure out a SAFE way to access whatever it is inside the Helevault.  But knowing the gnomes we can expect the unexpected . . .

More details as we receive them – but the unveiling and opening of the Helevaults promises to be one of the most significant events in Gnome Games Magic history. We expect to open them the weekend of April 28 – 29. Save the date for a special weekend of Magic at Gnome Games as we open the Helevault and welcome Avacyn Restored.

Why should old enemies team-up? Because two new super-dragons are crashing in from outer space, ready to chow down on any LIGHT or DARK monster that refuses to cooperate!

Energy & Entropy

Like a binary star system, Lightpulsar Dragon and Darkflare Dragon work as a team, fueling each others’ abilities with their LIGHT and DARK energies.

Born from a super-dense neutron star, Lightpulsar Dragon calls on the LIGHT and DARK energies of the universe, to pulse itself back onto the field again and again. And like any super-heavy star, if Lightpulsar Dragon is ever destroyed, it will collapse into a black hole, from which a DARK Dragon can emerge to carry on the fight!

Balancing the equation, Darkflare Dragon embodies the dark matter that makes up most of the universe, bringing its mysterious strength to your Deck. Darkflare Dragon can banish cards from either Graveyard, while pulling your Dragons out of your Deck and putting them in handy orbit for future use.

Quantum Engineering

The great galactic balance must be preserved, and Eclipse Wyvern is just the monster to do it. Eclipse Wyvern carefully maintains the gravitational energies of your cosmic dragons, by balancing LIGHT and DARK against each other. It can send a high-Level LIGHT or DARK Dragon through a gravitational singularity, banishing it from your Deck. And when Eclipse Wyvern journeys through that same singularity, it warps time and space to put that Dragon in your hand – where you wanted it all along!

Banished monsters might also end up in the Chaos Zone, a place where dozens of realities collide. Many monsters go there, but only the lucky ones return, and the controller of the Chaos Zone gets to choose which!

The Gnome Games Gen Con Invitational

The Master of the Bay of Green Coral has received the following missive from the Imperial Herald – Miya Kohta

Samurai of the Colonies,

You have doubtless read by now of the new Imperial Governor’s edict concerning the expansion of the Imperial Explorers in order to better map and exploit the vast resources we have available to us here, far from the borders of the Emerald Empire. I for one am grateful for the expansion, for I feel that the role of the Imperial Explorers is on that will be extremely important over the coming weeks and months. It is my fear that the appointment of a new Master Sensei will lead to difficulty, however as there will be a dramatic expansion of the program while at the same time a new lord to acclimate to all its components. It will be a difficult time.

The current plans for the expansion of the Imperial Explorers call for significantly expanding the programs holdings in the northern Colonies including within the Second City and the surrounding provinces. However numerous holdings are planned for the southern coastline, in the ports controlled by the Mantis and the Crane. The distance of these ports from the Second City will make rapid communication a virtual impossibility, as you likely already know. Therefore, we among the Imperial families recognize that any Master Sensei of the Imperial Explorers will require the services of a trusted vassal to coordinate the southern reaches of the Colonies. It is for that reason that I contact you now.

For reasons that should be obvious, the Imperial Governor is embroiled in the myriad of tasks that are associated with someone assuming such a powerful position, and in truth the selection of a vassal, even one as powerful as this position is likely to become, is something beneath her notice. For that reason I ask you to submit candidates for consideration for this secondary, yet still important position. All skills are important, but in particular this individual should be well acquainted in diplomacy, logistics, and cartography in particular.

Your service to the Empress, the Empire, and the Imperial Governor is cause for celebration. Stand Proud.

I had planned to dispatch a loyal Dragon Clan logistician; however his health prevents him from assuming these duties. For that reason I am seeking another to be sent on behalf of the Bay of Green Coral to serve as vassal to the Master Sensei of the Imperial Explorers. It is critical that this skilled and loyal vassal understand and represent the Bay of Green Corals interests as part of his service.

For the Explorers to succeed in their mission and hold influence in distant locations such as Second City and Kalani’s Landing there must be strong leaders among them, and I intend to send one such individual to aid them from the Bay of Green Coral.

Storyline Event

The clan claiming the most victories in the Global Storyline Tournament will determine the clan affiliation of another prominent sensei working with the Imperial Explorers. Just as the Master Sensei holds sway over the group’s operations in the Second City and the surrounding area, his vassal will coordinate their efforts along the southern coastline and in other such regions.

Gnome Games will host a Storyline tournament on Sunday Feb 5^th at the Gnome Games Tournament Center starting at 12:30. Entry is $25 and includes 5 Emperor Edition Boosters for each player and 2 additional boosters per player in the prize pool. Additional prizes include a copy of Folklore for all players plus additional prizes from the Master of the Bay of Green Coral.
