Shopping there saves me time because it’s just a click of a button. I don’t even have to leave my house, and the times when we’ve actually run out of ink or toner or whatever, it’s like an emergency as either the kids or I need to have something printed pronto. I’ve been through phases where I’ve tried selling web design services, writing services (this is what I’m still offering), and toyed with selling on eBay and now I’m thinking maybe a discount cigar business might not be so bad.

Usually I’m hit by whacky ideas after I see something while I’m out and about and then I can’t stop thinking about how I might be able to turn that into a business . How do you come up with new business ideas?

If you surf around the net, you can easily compare policies and prices and yes, you can find inexpensive online auto insurance that meets your needs whatever they may be. Just ask the agent. We all know how friendly they are and I’m sure they’d be only too happy to help.

Sometimes the problem though is that we tend to stick with the insurance company that we’re used to. There’s no need to even think twice. But if we do our homework, chances are we can always find a better rate and you could actually end up saving quite a bit. Think about it!

If you have family members who need eyewear, you can certainly relate to what I’m saying here. The good news though, as I’ve heard, is that if we go to Zenni Optical, we’re essentially purchasing quality eyeglasses direct from the manufacturer which means we won’t have to pay those high overheads that the optical store charges.

I’m a chronic bulk shopper because I believe I can really save myself both time and money by buying in multiples and keeping stock at home. Whenever my kids or I need stationery or toiletries, it saves me the last-minute runarounds which I sometimes don’t have time for, especially when I’ve got urgent work to finish. Do you buy in bulk?

I mean, it really doesn’t matter that they’re known for their reasonable pricing. It doesn’t matter that they offer a point collection card with cash backs and maybe even cheap life insurance thrown in because at the end of the day, if the customer feels they’re being overcharged and cheated, they’re going to take their business elsewhere. On occasions when I absolutely have to buy something new, I often try to save by going for  Best Buy items or items on discount. You’ll be surprised how much you can cut down on your home business operating cost just by doing small things like these.

And while I’m multitasking on a hundred other things as well, I’m wondering about new income streams in the back of my mind and then I remember my promise to my girl friend to send out help her get her baby announcements out before the weekend.

It’s Friday, for crying out loud, things should be winding down instead of picking up. I haven’t had a quiet weekend in a month and I so need one now. One of the charms of working from home, I guess, the fun never stops .

In fact, if she hadn’t told us, none of us would ever have guessed she’s a doctor from the photos! Indeed medical professionals’ garb isn’t what it used to be, all white or plain drab and boring. They’ve turned to brightly colored koi scrubs these days and even the koi scrub pants resemble something you would wear to lunch and not to some medical job!

I think a new hobby is what I need. I tried yoga but it’s not working, so maybe this pottery site I found, AMACO/Brent, is just what I need. I’d love to try my hand at pottery. It’s a hobby that requires patience and quiet, one that requires creativity and attention to detail. In other words, a great distraction from working an online business.

The site offers everything pottery-related, from supplies and sculpting compounds to pottery classes to inspiration from craft teachers and artists. And you know what else I’m thinking. If I could make my pottery wheel clay bend and mould the way I want it to, I could even be churning out products that I can sell.

Sure it would defeat this whole purpose of a hobby . But if I could transform a hobby into a business, that wouldn’t be so bad now, would it? But first, I need to find my way around the glazes, clays, kilns and texturing tools .
