WNBA Future Watch: Kiki Iriafen Basketball Cards, Washington Mystics – Kiki Iriafen

Competing at Harvard-Westlake School in Los Angeles, Iriafen racked up a host of honors. She was Division I Player of the Year, McDonald’s All-American and two-time Los Angeles Daily News Player of the Year. A five-star recruit, Iriafen had her pick of scholarships from elite programs and selected Stanford.

Playing time on a strong Cardinal roster was sparce through Iriafen’s first two seasons, but she still earned Pac-12 All-Freshman honors. After putting up 19.4 PPG and 11.0 RPG as a junior, Iriafen returned to her hometown for a senior season at USC. The move back home was triumphant, with production of 18.0 PPG, 8.4 RPG and .811 FT% propelling her to the fourth pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft.

Iriafen established herself as a double-double machine right off the bat, becoming only the second rookie ever to total four in her first five games. Iriafen became the first rookie in franchise history and the initial rookie in 2025 to record 15 points, five rebounds, five assists and five steals in a game. An All-Star reserve in her rookie season, Iriafen is establishing herself alongside fellow rookie Sonia Citron, as big-time cornerstones for Washington in the years ahead.

Tennis Future Watch: Taylor Fritz Tennis Cards – Taylor Fritz

Fritz emerged on the radar in 2015, reaching the quarterfinals of all four junior Grand Slam tournaments and becoming the first American in 15 years to become ITF Junior World Champion. From there, Fritz turned pro and became the 9th player ever to win Challenger Tour titles in back-to-back weeks in an age-17 season.

Fritz climbed into the Top 50 in 2018 and the Top 25 in 2019, learning valuable lessons about what it takes to win. A breakthrough title at Indian Wells in 2022 was part of a strong run that catapulted Fritz inside the Top 10 for the first time ever.

Leading the USA to a win in the inaugural United Cup in 2023, Fritz maintained the momentum, winning his sixth pro title. He reached a Grand Slam quarterfinal for the first time ever and cracked the Top 5. In 2024, Fritz became the first American since Andre Agassi in 2021 to reach the fourth round of all four Grand Slams in the same year. He topped out with a finals appearance at the US Open. A significant physical specimen with powerful serves and groundstrokes, Fritz continues the trajectory of one of the most significant American careers in decades.

Here are several Taylor Fritz cards with solid investment potential, ranked from lower‐cost to higher‐cost.

• Modern base / common inserts (e.g., 2024 Topps Royalty base / serial /99) — Lowest cost, $10–$40 range.
  Why: Widely available, good for filling sets or casual flipping. Low upside unless player has another breakout year or long-term nostalgia demand.
• Common parallels and retail refractors (Graphite/Chrome base parallels like /199, /125) — About $20–$60.
  Why: Slight scarcity vs. base; popular with set/parallel collectors. Safe small upside if graded but still fairly accessible.
• Insert/mini-insert parallels (e.g., Topps Graphite Court Masters green/aqua /75–/50) — ~$25–$100 depending on print run & grade.
  Why: More limited than base parallels; nicer visual appeal and better resale when demand spikes. Target PSA/BGS 9–10.
• Topps Chrome / Topps Graphite un/autographed base refractors (raw or low-grade) — ~$30–$150.
  Why: Chrome brand carries collector cachet; refractors raise value. Autographs here start to push price notably. Good mid-tier speculation.
• Graphite Advantage / Autograph inserts (graded mid-to-high: PSA 9–10 / SGC 9–10) — Typically $75–$350 depending on grade and parallel.
  Why: Documented price guide and recent market activity show solid premiums for graded autographs in this line. A sweet spot for ROI if you can buy lower and flip higher after a title run/Deep Slam showing.
• Topps Chrome Aces / Autograph refractors (serials like /99, /50; gold parallels /50) — ~$150–$800 (wide range; low-# and graded examples cost more).
  Why: True autograph refractors with limited print runs are the main demand drivers for tennis cards. Look for PSA DNA / authenticated autos and low serials.
