Yup, you read it right. Now a site that parodies the renowned Wiki. Uncyclopedia parodies everything let it be a country, a celebrity or any current event. Originally an English-language wiki, the project currently spans over 50 languages. The English version has over 24,000 pages of content.Various different styles of humor are used as a vehicle for parody, from sophisticated satire to the apparently random. Like Wikipedia, Uncyclopedia has guidelines regarding what is and is not acceptable content and these guidelines have become progressively more strict as the site expands over time. The site has gained media attention due to its articles on places and people.

Its logo is a hollow potato, named Sophia after the Gnostic deity, that serves as a spoof of Wikipedia's globe logo.

Well this site looks similar to the original Wiki, so new users could be easily get dodged. But anyhow, the site is for fun and hope you will enjoy .

It has been my problem for last few years, that whenever I use to login to my Gtalk chat account, I use to see many of names written in stylized fonts, which sometimes makes the name meaning less. So, I recently discovered a way out to this problem, and wanted to share it with you.

If you are also having similar problem, then just login to your Gtalk chat client or GMail chat client…

Just login to your Gtalk chat client, and then right click on the contact you want to rename, and then click “Rename”. There you enter correct name, and now it will appear like what you’ve entered, whenever you’ll log in again.

To rename contact in GMail based chat client, just hover your mouse over contact you want to rename, and then, click on name, which will select current name. Then, just type new name assigned to that contact.

This time, I came across a service offered by BSNL, free of cost, for which other mobile operators charges about Rs.30 per month, the service is “Missed Call Alerts”.

By activating Missed call alerts, you can get notifications, about the calls you might have missed when your mobile was switched off or out of reach. It is very easy to activate Free Missed call alerts, just divert all of your voice calls to 17010, and whenever anybody will call you, when your mobile is switched off, then you’ll get its notification, next time you’ll switch on your mobile…

As they say,Strat.In stands for Strategy Invented, Strategy Indianized, Strategizing!. I recently came across this site and was amazed by how they carry the things. They put in a lot of effort to discuss the management and the strategy involved by companies in Indian market. So for those who are aspiring for MBA, this would be an icing on the cake. They make the things so simple and put forward in such a way that one can’t resist himself from finishing the article that one has started.

Also this site is open to everyone, anyone can share his ideas with them. According to Strat.in , “We, some of the recent graduates of premier institutions in India wanted to contribute to this revolution. We felt that though a lot of people write about technology and even business, but the strategy behind them is rarely discussed. This is our attempt to discuss the strategic decisions and management issues faced in India.”

Autocopy Add-on

Whenever you prepare for a presentation or report, you Google it, copy from different sources and then paste it. It took a considerable amount of time to copy and paste the data if you have large number of sources. Also it would be a great help for bloggers .Select text on any web page and it will be automatically copied to the clipboard. It works in much the same way as does Trillian or mIrc. Paste on middle click into textboxes, the url bar, and the search bar.

Select some text. Right click on it and see the autocopy content area context menu item filled with usefull features. (old users of autocopy will want to turn this on. In the options page look for "Content Area Context Menu Item"). You can undo a copy; there is a clipboard history of up to 10 items; paste to the search or location box with a click of the button; search for and open in new tab for when you select a text only url. Plus a handy append url to clipboard feature that will make sure your quotes can always have a reference.

According to a search conducted by Mc Afee , these two keywords are the very harmful in India. McAfee searched for more than 2,600 popular keywords. For each keyword, they examined the first five pages of results across each of five major search engines. On average, each keyword generated a little more than 250 results. Overall, they examined more than 413,000 unique URLs (web addresses), assigned each keyword a category and a country and then ranked them by the risk of their resulting URLs.< span class='fullpost'> In addition, using data from Hit wise, a search intelligence company, they conducted much deeper dives into specific keywords.Keywords were ranked in two ways: 1) the average risk of all results and 2) the maximum risk of the riskiest page of results.

You must have seen so many visualizations for Windows Media Player, but this one is awesome. I mean this is the most simple and yet captivating visualization. Here is the screenshot for the visualization.

The dancing bars and the moving clouds look very charming.You can turn the album art feature either on or off by clicking in the Video and Visualization pane of the Now Playing feature. If you turn the album art off, you can still access it by moving the pointer over the upper-left area of the Video and Visualization pane.
Note that not all album art can be displayed in the Energy Bliss visualization. For example, album art that you have manually added to a file by using the Advanced Tag Editor will not appear.

This particular visualization requires a powerful graphics adapter (video card). If you keep getting a black screen or a dark sky when you are in full mode or full-screen mode, check to be sure your computer system meets the following minimum system requirements:

Windows Media Player 10
Graphics adapter: 3D accelerator with at least 16 megabytes (MB) of memory
Processor: 500-600 megahertz (MHz) or higher

As a webmaster, I use to put a short signature at end of my every email. If this signature contain a random link from my blog, this would increase my visitor's traffic more. GMail Labs provides an experimental addon to Gmail, know as Random Signatures. This addon fetches random post links from a given feed url, and appends as your signature at end of post. This drives traffic, if someone reading email, finds that topic interesting.

You can add random post signature to emails sent by enabling labs features and enabling, Random Signature in it. Then, follow these steps-

Go to settings of GMail
Click General tab
Select Signature, and click on “Append a random signature…”
You can specify the feed address, in text box, which can be your blog address, or any feed you like.

You can make your program windows transparent in Windows 2000 or late versions, using a very lite freeware known as Glass2k. Transparent windows are helpful to me and gives a good geeky appearance to Windows Desktop. You can download glass2k from here, it does not need to be installed, you can simply double click to start it, whenever you’ll right click on any window, it will ask you to set its transparency. It is very easy to use software and it is also having a feature to set any windows on top, according to your choice.

Productivity Tip:- You can use glass2k in way to increase your productivity, as it will prevent you switching between windows, and you can do two works at time, like I keep browsing my computer by making explorer windows transparent and watching through my e-mail account. The all new homepage for Yahoo is set to recapture the loss of its popularity by some of the giants of social networking like Facebook, Myspace and Twitter. The new homepage has all the features that will make you stick to it and stay to it so much that you will make the new YAHOO your homepage.

Disable Error Reporting in Windows Vista

I do not like error reporting service of Windows Vista, which shows for send error report, closing the program and debugging the program.Well, its very obvious that when error has come up in any program, then we have no other choice to close it. I’ve tried submitting the error reports thousand times, but nothing happened, and it still shows that errors. As, I am not a programmer so, debugging any program is not my job. The only alternative left to me is disabling the useless error reporting window.

If you are also upset with this feature of windows vista, and want to disable it, just follow these instructions-

Open Run dialog box by pressing Windows Key + R
Type and open wercon.exe
Click Change Settings on left pane.
Then click advanced settings.
Turn off error reporting, for your self or for all users according to your choice.

Other way to disable error reporting is, using services console-

Open services console by opening services.msc from Run dialog.
Find Windows Error Reporting Service in the list.
Right click to stop that service, instantaneously.
To disable error reporting service, double click Windows Error Reporting Service, and click on stop.

So, to come up with this problem I started using Profile Password add-on for my Firefox web browser. This add-on protects the profile with a password. So, if password is entered by a user only then that Firefox Profile will open up.

You can easily create multiple profiles in Firefox, this will help you to create password for any of your profiles and get any other profile for general use, or use for your friends. To password protect your Firefox profiles, follow the video shown at end.

Creating Profiles in Firefox

Here are the steps to create multiple profiles in Firefox-

Open Run Dialog box by pressing Windows Key + R.
Now type Firefox –profilemanager, and press Enter.
This will open Firefox Profile manager, where you can create, rename or delete a profile.
Open the Profile for which you want to set up the password.

Set up Password to Firefox

You can now setup the password to protect your Firefox profile by adding Profile Password add-on, and doing the necessary settings.

Download
Profile Password Add-on and Install it.
Go to Tools menu, and click Profile Password.
Click Set/ Change Password, and password will be set for your profile.
