We’re back after our break, this show was mostly a run-through to make sure the equipment was still configured correctly and to ease everyone from the hosts to the listeners back into the show. There was a technical difficultly (I labeled Wayne’s channel wrong and the first 20 min was essentially me having a one sided conversation as far as the recording was concerened.) We trimmed the problem part and left the good parts in.

What made it into the recording was discussion on the 2011 - 2012 Chevrolet Volt, the 2012 Toyota Prius C, and the 2013 Chevrolet Malibu Eco.

Our hosts this week are Wayne Gerdes and Kacey Green.

“1776” mile Chevy Volt Freedom Drive

“This drive is a demonstration of the freedom the Volt will provide customers – freedom to drive where you want, when you want,” said Tony DiSalle, director of product marketing for Chevrolet Volt. “Whether you are driving 50 miles or 1,750 miles, the Volt is the only electric vehicle that can be a family’s primary car.”

Over the course of the four days, the Volt Freedom Drive began in Austin, with stops in Little Rock, AR; Nashville, TN and Roanoke, VA on Day 1, Washington, D.C. and Frederick, MD on day 2; Philadelphia, PA on Day 3 and finally arrived in NY City on July 4th to complete the drive… Of course CleanMPG tweeted that if they need it driven back, we could put together an ad hoc team overnight. No response was forthcoming to that proposal…

Fueleconomy.gov has released two new top ten lists to help consumers purchase a fuel-efficient vehicle. Unlike other top ten lists that are limited to current model year vehicles, these new lists draw from twenty-six years of EPA and real-world fuel economy data, making them useful for consumers considering a new or used gas miser:
