1976 is a constantly mutating solo by Impulstanz Prize winner Dana Michel. Michel casts a a new light on the feminine/masculine duality by drawing on her own physical strength, love of sport, obsession with popular
symbols of femininity and a deep sense of connection to the power
possessed by divas such as Tina Turner and Beyonce. Incredibly personal
and slyly subversive,

1976 explores gender and identity through the prisms of high fashion, pop, hip hop and athleticism.

For this presentation, the charismatic Zoja Smutny will be reinterpreting her film work

Recent Future (created in collaboration with Gunter Kravis) for the stage. Tearing apart
notions of performance and spectatorship to re-imagine the audience
experience, Smutny questions the role of the performer and finds unique
ways to draw attention to the act of watching.

A Side of Dreams is a multi-disciplinary theatre experience
incorporating aerial hoop, puppetry, sound design, visual imagery and
text.  A single mother searching for her
voice awakens the spirit of the Dreamcatcher where she meets
ancestors in the world of dreams.  Written by Jani Lauzon the stellar cast
features Jani as the central character Haisa/Dreamcatcher World Ancestors, Trish Leeper as Spiderwoman/Haisa (puppet) and Jessica Barrera as the daughter Aina. Lighting and Projection design by Melissa Joakim, Sound

A queer white documentary theatre-maker thinks he�s investigating homophobia in Jamaica.

But what starts as a quest to expose an injustice, turns into a burning call for his own personal transformation.

How do we justly engage with an injustice? To whom does an injustice �belong�? Through a constellation of encounters � with activists, refugees, priests and ministers, journalists, artists, Pride Week revelers, and many queer people of colour � 

Small Axe asks us to bravely face our differences in order to discover how intricately connected we are.

BASED ON ACTUAL EVENTS, the story intimately follows Simone and Jean. They have gradually grown apart as a couple and have decided to spend a few weeks vacationing in Ireland in the hope of rekindling their romance. Their plans are turned upside down when Jean comes across the lifeless body of a young woman washed out on the beach. 

Alex in Wonderland

Alex follows a White Rabbit to Wonderland; a world where up is down and in is out. Alex tries to remember who he is and meets a Caterpillar, a March Hare, a Mad Hatter, and a Cheshire Cat along the way. Will he be able to find himself and find his way home?

HER2is a probing examination
of the uneasy relationship between medical science and the human spirit.

Seven
women with one thing in common�a highly aggressive form of breast cancer�are
recruited for a clinical trial of a new drug. While the researcher measures its
progress in terms of blood counts and tumour sizes, the subjects of her
experiment, struggle to deal with the renewed dread that paradoxically
accompanies this sudden glimmer of hope in their lives. As the group under goes
the treatment they bond together into a community characterized not by medical
statistics but by their human qualities of courage, humour, and wisdom.
