Loverage 3 then 14th Philippine International Hot Air Balloon.

I received an invitation via text coming from my mare inviting me for an escapade (chos) Tuesday last week. Given that it's single's awareness month and since no one has ever made me aya for araw ng mga puso (Feb 14), also the fact that it's 'them', Cherky and TM, for sure I can not say no to it. Not this time.

The initial itinerary is to attend Loverage 3 at UP Diliman before going to Clark, Pampanga, for the 14th Philippine International Hot Air Balloon.

I haven’t been hooked on night outs for months now. (Not like before). So I said, GAME ON.

That’s how it was.

As usual, ang astig ng mga tumugtog na banda at wagi ang mga organizers. Congrats!

We decided to left the fair at one o’clock in the morning. When we actually heard the urge of stones being thrown to the wall that surrounds the venue, "the sound were like hailstones falling from roof" (courtesy of Cherky, I just don’t know how to put into words what happened that night!).

Ang OA lang ng mga hindi nakapasok.

And again, that’s how it was. --

We arrived at San Fernando at pass 3 A.M.. Dropped by at friend's home and took an hour nap. We’re off to road again going to Clark by 5:30 A.M.. 14th Philippine International hot air Balloon naman, let’s get it on!

We came a little late. The hot air balloons began to fly. But it's okay, it's a bit crowded inside the place anyway and it's much better to take photos while on the road. hehe

It is better to light a Wish Lantern.

Before I let go the string of my second wish lantern, I silently offered a short prayer. . .

I pray that. . . sa'kin na lang yon! *wink

But never did I forget to smile while uttering my petitions. Yes. Considering perhaps, that that was my first time to taste (not literally) that kind of free spirited event. And it's STELLAR!

**Although wish lanterns used to be a spy balloon during World War II, the point is, it's indeed pambihira. Other names: Chinese lantern, sky lantern.

I felt like a child once more. I flew a kite back then, but last time was feeling totally odd. Thinking about the dark/cloudy sky on a hilly setting, not to mention the strong winds, and the reason why we did it (Valentines Day), oh my, I wish I had a date. #imho

By the way, my initial wish lantern was with Nicely and Ms. Xchosa (Thank you!) also from that same event. Actually I'm taking photos at that time, when I suddenly remembered what our tour guide had told us. "You must write your wish/intentions exactly," so I forced myself to make it right, for the second time.

The song Fireflies by Owl City was being played while the lanterns started to fly individually. Sweet!

Speaking of, I would like to thank Zoocobia Fun Zoo for the opportunity they had given us (bloggers), to know-and-experience such peculiar and very intimate moment. Even I, who as of this moment, have no better half, really felt the presence of "LOVE IS IN THE AIR."

Zoocobia truly surprised me that day (and night). Why?

By afternoon, after we reached Clark (inside Paradise Ranch, Sacobia Clark in Pampanga) we rested and ate our snack and chased the ongoing animal show. Afterwards, we toured around the theme farm's must-see attractions including The Barn (surrounded by animals, where they held their animal show), Giant Slide (photo not available), Shoot to Feed (newest bait in Zoocobia - wherein you shoot the food from a far to be able to feed the animals inside the cage), and much more! -- Too bad we lack time to test Zooc, a fun-filled gravity ride that's safe for all ages, with a unique steering and braking system that allows you to make the ride as leisurely or as exciting as you want. It runs on a 400 meter track with three hairpin curves that is guaranteed to make one's ride a zoo-per thrilling experience. Next time maybe.

We as well thrilled by another exciting animal show and parade, also serenaded that night by an acoustic band, and astounded by an arresting poi dance number from our katutubong Aeta's, who are very common in Pampanga.

Double the fun at Residence Inn Tagaytay!

Owing to its far-reaching knowledge and the super intense adventure it brings, which is why many of us Filipinos are inclined to outdoor activities now a days. And one of the most popular today is the zipline.

This type of recreation is gradually escalating to a higher areas such as Tagaytay in Cavite.

So, I did not hesitate to give it a shot, again, when we went there last January 21, after our jaunt to Paradizoo Theme Farm. --

After the 200 meters long Zooperman zipline (full body harness), you'll have to ride the cable car for you to enjoy the view of the famous home-grown "Taal Lake" and its adjacent spots and sniff the fragrance of fresh air.

Looks like I'm nervous and terrified in this picture e? But that's how my friends would described it. Actually I just saved my *deafening noise for the cable car. HAHA! Peace cablemates! :-p

Hopefully I can hold a camera in my next zipline adventure so I can take a photo of myself.

But before this nature-loving ride, Residence Inn presented a skeet for us guests. They asked for three volunteers to interact with three of their *amazing surprise*. Tignan mo dali! :-D

The other guests were also given the opportunity to have pictures with the scorpion, gigantic snake, and the iguana after the show. So nice ^_^

... and the best actress for a pretending role goes to haha!

Ay. . . one more thing!

At the end of our Paradizoo trip, as a remembrance for bloggers, the Zoomanity group gave us a seedling called Ashitaba or Tomorrow Leaf, which was discovered at Hachijo Island in Japan.

Once you pick up today, tomorrow you will see it start to grow a new life. An 80 year old Japanese medical doctor who was suffering in his last stage of lung cancer found this plant during his trip to Hachijo Island. He ate the leaves and noticed that his health greatly improved and his cancer was ultimately cured.

Tomorrow leaf is considered effective in treating the following disorders: Lung / cough / asthma / digestive system / intestine / kidney / kidney stones / urinary track bleeding / liver / gall bladder / hepatitis / gall bladder stones / help suppress growth of cancer cells / hemmoroids / constipation / diarrhea / vomiting / blood poisoning / septicemia / fertility problems / more balanced blood cells / help in recovery of bone inquiries / external wounds / skin allergy / rheumatism / high cholesterol levels / high-low blood pressure / diabetes.

Ang siste, mama thought that it was a 'sago drink', so she put it in ref before she goes to bed. PHEW! (>_<) She has a poor eyesight because of her cataract. That's why.

Paradizoo Theme Farm Take 2!

After nearly a year, about three Saturdays ago, I was invited to revisit Paradizoo Theme Farm, together with six blogger friends, to witness once more their Power of Three event last January 21, 2012.

Upon our arrival, similar to our first visit, they served us this bizarre "lugaw" (porridge with no rice just the "laman-loob" only) -- a specialty from *I forgot the specific place* in Batangas province. Plus "puto" (kind of rice cake) and a cup of tea made of "tanglad" or lemongrass.

Then we proceed to the ribbon cutting ceremony after a short snack break.

These are called greyhounds, another breed of dog. I knew what they are called (their breed) but when I saw them coming towards me, I freaked a bit and my tongue seemed to just shrink. ***SCREAMS!!!*** Somebody's dog bit me last year, that's why. Do you think, what I feel is normal? Am I normal? (>_<) Anyhoo . . .

On our/my initial visit at the theme farm, my attention was drawn to animals that lived on land, so I appreciate the flying ones that fun day more than ever. We've also seen butterflies busy with their 'sexual activity.' Look under and see what it looks like --

Almost 15 to 30 minutes when I convinced myself not to be afraid of these cuties. (Ps: Bukod sa maarte ako, haha, I also fear flying animals, especially insects. It's fine when I see them crawling, but when they fly close to me? Man, it's a different story! haha) I wish to feed them in my palm but their nails are too pointed. But if you can bear a little pain #uptoyou

There's the P A R A D I Z O O letters (stand for the name of the theme farm) but I forgot to take a picture of it. . . (Gaah! I really have to update my own memory card.) Anyway, there's also a fish spa (sadly, we did not experience it), since it's not open to public yet. There's always a next time, so it doesn't matter. LoL

Kidding aside, before we finally said our goodbyes to Paradizoo Theme Farm, we had our group photo taken, and by all means, Salamat sa tripod ni Alex! haha

I immediately said that when I first saw the latest logo (to the left, to the left) --- promoting the Philippine Tourism.

The connection is probably justifiable, I think, especially when I read an article online, which affirms that it is indeed inspired by the Philippine mat or "banig." While the color of the map (I guess) represents the current administration(?)

The chromatic logo perhaps matches (presently) with the reform of our country and culture, but honestly speaking, it is not the "only one of its kind." #justsaying #nooffense

However, regarding the slogan, uhm. . . Happy NEW YEAR!!! Halika Biyahe Tayo! It's more fun in the Philippines! w^_^w (Kaway)

Take U to the Philippines - Byaheng Pinoy with Apl.de.Ap

In partnership with MTV Asia, the Department of Tourism (DoT) launched its latest tourism campaign “Byaheng Pinoy with Apl”.

The campaign is a product of a long-time collaboration between Allan Pineda Lindo (Apl.de.Ap of the Black Eyed Peas) and Tourism Sec. Ace Durano. Byaheng Pinoy with Apl gave rise to several projects that utilize Apl.de.Ap and his music as a platform to showcase the country’s sites to the world.

“We need help to accelerate,” said Secretary Durano.

“Apl is the perfect icon to represent our country and its fascinating destinations, as a globally successful Filipino artist. His music infused with Pinoy pride certainly makes this campaign fresh and exciting.”

Apl himself wrote the lyrics with suggestions from Durano, to highlight local texture of tourist destinations-warm blue waters, parties in Manila, unique Pinoy culture, heart-stopping adventure rides and an infinite number of activities found only in the Philippines.

DOT and MTV’s partnership only seems to grow stronger as it plays out, bringing more exciting ways to promote the Philippines at every turn. It certainly sounds like a perfect fit.

“Take U to the Philippines,” the music video which Apl offered as a complimentary to the DoT campaign launched on October 1, to the worldwide MTV market. Directed by Andrew Lo, creative director of MTV Asia, the video utilized mixed motion graphics stylized by The Source, a renowned studio in Hollywood.

Undersecretary Eduardo Jarque Jr. of the Tourism Planning and Promotions also stressed that “The partnership has been a massive hit, especially with online marketing that is now a key platform for the travel industry.” The campaign taps at least 55 million people in 11 markets through the MTV global network, propelling the Awesome Philippines website through the digital stratosphere with one billion impressions and one million page views as well as giving rise to groundbreaking promotions like the Awesome Experience search vignettes, Awesome Remixer, Maverick sites, MTV Revelations island on Second Life, and the recent music video sensation, “Take U to the Philippines” by Apl.de.Ap.

Following the soft launch of the DoT campaign, the Black Eyed Peas also performed in the F1 Rocks Concert recently held in Singapore. The sheer magnitude of fans who watched the B.E.P in Singapore is just a tip of the global market we are reaching through our campaign with MTV.

“I know how it is to grow in the Philippines,” envisioned Apl.

He also believes that the “Philippines is a must see.”

“I wanted to showcase all the beautiful spots in the Philippines. I wanted to help our tourism; to inspire others to visit the Philippines; to create jobs for people and help the country and the community.”

In connection to this, Undersecretary Jarque added, “Although it may seem geared towards the young MTV generations, we are tapping the global traveler and culture connoisseur of all markets. We want the campaign to brand our country as one with infinite number of exciting activities to do for the adventure and culture lovers.”

Alongside the video, “Take Me to the Philippines” is also supported by on-ground components such as a colorful roaming caravan that will bring festivities from destination to destination, as well as an interactive website http://www.awesomephilippines.com/

“I really wanna go there!” Apl expressed with excitement.

Durano will also take Apl to some of the country’s best beaches, heritage sites and adventure trails, as Apl mentioned having been to Boracay, Cebu and his hometown Pampanga.

Secretary Ace and Apl both refined the campaign through time, adding elements to achieve the goal of hauling in more tourists to the country.

It’s a two-way side of the coin, you must come and travel with Apl, of course he will “Take U to the Philippines,” Secretary Durano ended.

Arinaya White Beach Resort in Boracay of North.

My nearest and dearest relatives granted this yearning to trip over at Pagudpud last Friday for the love of me. Woot! Thanks y'all!

At least now I can answer my own question why is Pagudpud flag down as The Boracay of the North. Well, how about the effects of the white sand and the blue-ish beach -- tied up with a nice view of windmills over at Bangui bay? It's a 3-in-1 show yow! :D

So yeah, we selected Arinaya White Beach Resort out of the many beach resorts in Pagudpud because [1] it's near the highway and as I remembered it's the first beach resort you'll going to pass once you entered the area; [2] the entrance fee is super affordable, for day rate:

Adult (Php25)
Kid (Php15)
Picnic hut (Php300) with a capacity of 10-20 persons.

We were there for like an hour and so, since it's the only time I have had, Mr. Sun did not stopped me from wandering around, even if it burns my skin (ouchy) and so they say, "enjoy it while it lasts". hihi. . .

So far, it was one of the best summer I have had. I got the chance to bond with my father's relatives and savor the beach life as well at least for an hour. :p

Ride a bus (directly) from Manila to Pagudpud thru RCJ Transit [1558 España, Sampaloc, Manila Telephone (632) 7412994] or Florida Bus (it's more or less 10 hours of driving) or ride a plane (MNL-to-LAO) or joy ride with your own car.
From bus terminal station, you can ride a tricycle and tell the driver to send you to Arinaya, PHP40.

Our walks from Visita Iglesia developed into a habit of exercise, and soon we realized that each year our walking is getting cut than the former years. We started from five hours limit to more or less three hours of walking for the last two to three years. Weee!

And so I was able to go early that day to my next location. From Sampaloc, I went straight to my bff’s residence in Pasig to rejoice the birthday of our ‘budjoy’, last Good Friday. Then, I had a strong-willed to go home at around 8 p.m. to finish my overdue tasks. :-(

Then after I said my goodbyes, two friends had suddenly spoken that they wanted to come and join me, and the rest was history. I went home with the ‘drama queen’ and the ‘birthday girl’. Then I completed one task, and the hours of darkness has finally ended.

It was Black Saturday morning when the bffs asked me if there’s a resort nearby. I said yes in reply.

But the resort that we’re eying according to the internet was closed. So we look after the other resorts here in Antipolo, and we winded up in Boso-Boso Higland Resort and Convention Center. Ahoy!

I found out about this resort through my gf (as in best girl pal). They first went there in 2005, then subsequently in 2007 for the prenuptial of one of our common friend.

We rode two jeepneys and since it’s a holy day, we traveled for about 30 minutes from home to Boso-boso with no traffic and pollution! (Sana laging ganito) .^_^.

We got there at quarter past three (P.M.), so obviously we only had fairly two hours to swim (Day swimming: 6am-6pm). Gaaah! But that’s actually fine; we didn’t have to put SPF or what not since there’s no more heat yow. :-D

And we poke around the pools (including the kiddie) for the last two hours hehe… We for sure had a great time even if our ‘baon’ were only dingdong, cheese it and muncher! Haha!

And last of all, we roam around the BBHRCC for pictorials, and then my battery had all of a sudden died. Panggg! Kaya ito lang ang pictures ko. Enjoy!

The fad that I’m longing to see ‘hopefully’ is the 200/250 steps church that is positioned downhill, and to experience ‘hopefully’ the slide (which was defective at that point). Saaad.

Too bad that we didn't have any options to explore other things inside Boso-boso since [1] it was already 7 p.m. at that time when we’re done fixing ourselves, and [2] the battery of my camera was off, so I guess there’s no need for us to stay any longer other than to consume all the meriendas we have/ had. Hihi… But anyways, good times! I love my bffs!

BUT something came up to me at the end of the day: Walang himala! Totoo ang unplanned trips :p

A Bigger NatGeo Earth Day Run kicks off April 10

A bigger NatGeo Earth Day Run (EDR) awaits thousands of students, professionals, athletes, health buffs, and celebrities as the event kicks off with an added 21-kilometer race on April 10, 2011 at the Bonifacio Global City in Taguig.

“We were encouraged by last year’s huge turnout that’s why we are putting up the 21K race,” said Jude Turcuato, Fox International Channels territory director. “It looks like we are going the have twice the participants this year from the 5000 runners in last year’s inaugural race as more and more people are taking up running as a sport.”

Aside from the 21K race, the NatGeo EDR features 3K, 5K, and 10K categories. A limited edition NatGeo EDR technical shirt is included when you register with each distance having an assigned color.

The NatGeo EDR is an annual event aimed at creating awareness about caring for the planet and helping save the environment. It is part of the National Geogrpahic Channel’s (NGC) global thrust in support of Earth Day on April 22 this year.

Apart from encouraging Filipinos to care about the planet, NGC also plans to help bring a constellation of stars in the Mind Museum’s Universe Gallery by asking NatGeo EDR online registrants to sponsor a star. Details and mechanics can be found through the EDR website.

Sponsors will receive an electronic “Donor’s Certificate” and a sponsorship badge that they can post on Facebook. Their names will also be posted at the Mind Museum website.

The Havaianas "Always Summer: Race to Hawaii" Contest.

A unique race that will challenge two-member teams to celebrate summer nationwide via summer tasks.

How Can I Join?

Filipino residents who are 18 years old and above, are fit to travel and engage in physical activities, are eligible to join the Havaianas "Always Summer: Race to Hawaii" contest. Any single-receipt purchase of two (2) Havaianas pairs from any participating Havaianas retailers from February 4, 2011 to March 27, 2011 will merit one (1) Race to Hawaii scratch card, which contains a unique code that the participant can use to register in the www.havaianassummer.com website. Participants have until March 28, 2011, 11:59PM to register or add codes.

How do I win?

Last Thursday and Friday was my third time to revisit Baguio. Although it's a bit unusual still it's a happy one to end my week. Sweet.

I have been interested in traveling into places ever since, and boo you if you don’t.

At times, I wonder how truly exciting getting into a place I have not been visited yet. Of course, I knew it from the start that the way I felt was indeed customary.

Given a chance to travel into a place called rapture was really an awesome experience. Consider it is within the locality of your country, still it keeps you motionless and be in awe. One thing you must be proud of that one time in your life you'd find yourself there having a good time.

It is essential that you value the scenery and appreciate it "when all we see and know and feel is temporary".

As the natives say, you don't need to be distant just to find a place to relax and enjoy, since you can find it all at one place and that's where I'm at.

Go Tara Let's is a group of words or simply a slang phrase that is used when convincing someone to go in some particular places like in paradise. *Wink*

I often hear this Go Tara Let's phrase among gay friends similarly with my normal pals (who pretend 'as if' they are gays). They always utter these words when they are inviting someone to accompany them in another place, especially when traveling.

It's originally pronounced as “tara let's bagets!” ("bagets" means "kid" in Filipino). It is as if someone is dragging someone and be gone somewhere else.

Use Go Tara Let's in a sentence:

(English) Come on, let’s go to (insert place here)!

(Filipino) Go Tara Let's sa (insert place here)!
