I’ve been really busy lately, so I couldn’t work on it. I managed to get a backup of my wordpress database and integrate it into the new install of wordpress. Evidently some part of my database got corrupted during an automatic upgrade. Thank goodness for dreamhost DB backups. Thanks DreamHost!

I don’t understand why software companies that make things for Windows can’t use the features that it provides. I also don’t understand why every freaking thing in the world must put its files in my Documents folder!

Several cases in point:

1. Games
Nearly all games that don’t save their files into the program folder
save them in my Documents, usually a separate folder for each
company. Microsoft made a special folder for you! It’s called Games.
This folder is specifically for save games and game config files. USE IT!
I don’t need a separate folder for each company’s files.
Neverwinter Nights 2, Spore(which I hate cause of DRM), Stubbs the
Zombie(which I love except for this), EA games, Tomb Raider Underworld
and Bioshock are just a few that make a separate folder for each.
Some games also make an additional folder called My Games. While
I appreciate the effort, there is already a folder for this.

2. Other software
Adobe, AdobeStockPhotos(which isn’t even supported anymore),
Axialis Librarian, Cyberlink, FrostWire, GomPlayer, My Shapes,
My Virtual Machines, My Widgets, Nero Collections, NeroVision,
Stardock, The KMPlayer, and Ulead DVD Movie Factory are several
folders that I don’t want in my Document folder. I want my Documents
to actually contain my documents, not everything in the world! If
these programs want to store files somewhere I’d appreciate a way
to specify where to put them! I don’t mind them being in my profile folder,
that’s what it’s for, but I’m just tired of the Documents folder being
the catch-all for anything a program wants to store.

I have 42 folders in my Documents folder, 9 of them I want there. Seriously.
