There you have it. Vice President Joe Biden says the government has the right to restrict gun ownership because it’s in the best interest of people. It will mean “saving lives.” He compares further gun restrictions to seat belt legislation. CNS News reports:

“Vice President Joe Biden on Thursday compared restrictions on guns to auto safety regulations such as air bags, by saying neither the gun nor the auto industries wanted regulations to save lives.

“‘Well they didn’t want to have air bags. Well, guess what? We have air bags. We’re saving lives,’ Biden told reporters before a meeting with several stakeholders on the gun-control issue, as he plans to craft a set of proposals for President Barack Obama by Tuesday, Jan. 15.”

The last time I looked (today), the Constitution still has an amendment that states:

“A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.”

Most Americans purchase guns to be safe. That’s what the Second Amendment is all about.

If we were consistent in following Biden’s life saving reasoning for restricting rights, where do we stop? He mentions seat belts. Even with seat belt legislation, 45,000 people die every year in automobile accidents. That’s nearly 900 people every week. So instead of seat belts, why not ban driving altogether? That would save tens of thousands of lives every year, more than seat belts ever could.

There are still people who die in automobile accidents because they don’t strap on a seat belt. In the same way, there are lots of people who ignore gun laws and kill people. The problem isn’t with the law; it’s with people who don’t obey the law.

Stopping abortion would save about 1.3 million lives every year.

There are all kinds of safety requirements with guns, much like seat belts. Even so, a gun won’t do anything unless bullets are put in and the trigger is pulled.

Unlike seat belts that are designed to save lives, guns are designed to kill people. Some people use guns illegally. No matter what the law is, there are still going to be people who don’t give a tinker’s damn about the law. Aurora, Colorado, Virginia Tech, and Newtown, Connecticut are evidentiary examples of this fact.

I want a gun “just in case.” Restricting my rights as a law-abiding citizen about gun ownership when criminals have no regard for the law and roam free to kill is the height of injustice and tyranny.

The latest rumor is that so-called assault weapons and high capacity magazines will be banned. Criminals don’t care. They will laugh and call their local illegal gun dealer to find out where they can get some of the new contraband. He may be the same guy who’s selling him illegal drugs.

How do we know this will happen? Think of Prohibition and the success of the drug war. We have a sieve of a border. Guns will pass through as easily as people. Mexico will see a new illegal market.

Most law-abiding Americans will remain law abiding and will avoid the illegal purchase of guns, ammunition, and high capacity magazines. Criminals won’t.

Moreover, I don’t know what kind of government we’re going to have in 20 years. Don’t ever say, “It can’t happen here.” They said the same thing in Russia, Nazi Germany, Poland, and in a number of African nations. No thank you, Mr. Biden.

Let’s see Mr. Biden and the President give up their armed guards. Let them be defended by brochures that say, “It’s unlawful to kill or use a gun in an illegal way.” They can pass them out at every campaign stop.

The first indication that a nation is moving in the direction of tyranny is that the rulers are not bound by the same laws as their “subjects,” I mean, citizens. For example, President Obama has signed a bill that will give him armed Secret Service protection for life.

Until now, the Hallmark Channel was one of the last vestiges of traditional, romantic movie fare on cable. Now it looks like that is about to become a thing of the past, at least if the network’s CEO can be believed.

The CEO of Hallmark’s parent, Crown Media Family Networks (CMFN), recently seemed to understand why his network was unique.

In an interview, CEO Bill Abbott said Hallmark “differentiates itself from its competition” because its movies are “relentlessly positive, family friendly, always appropriate for all members of the family.”

“Across the board, we’re attracting an audience across every demographic,” Abbott exclaimed.

“We are not an issues-oriented network: our goal is for every viewer who comes to us to feel happier and better because they watched,” the Hallmark Channel says of itself.

One might think that Hallmark fully understands why it has one of the strongest followings on cable, especially during the holidays.

It appears you would be wrong to think the cable channel grasps its success, because now Hallmark is looking to become the gay holiday network.

Hallmark’s parent company now says that “Hallmark is open to doing any type of movie — including with gay leads.”

“In terms of broadening out the demographic, it’s something we’re always thinking about, always considering,” Abbot added.

Abbot’s sad acquiesce to the radical gay lobby comes on the heels of a sustained campaign by gay activists that have targeted Hallmark to put an end to its traditional movies and to bend to the radical gay agenda.

If Abbot has his way, it won’t be long before Hallmark Channel will no longer be a place where families can go for good, clean entertainment.

An illegal alien allegedly murdered a 16-year-old New Jersey girl after the two split following a ten-month relationship, prosecutors claim.

Bryan Cordero-Castro, a 20-year-old illegal alien, was arrested and charged after allegedly stabbing to death 16-year-old Madison Wells, Breitbart News reported a few months ago.

This week, Cordero-Castro appeared in court for the first time, where prosecutors accused him of murdering Wells after she broke off their ten-month relationship.

According to prosecutors, the illegal alien repeatedly contacted Wells for nine hours before her murder, demanding she meet with him. When Wells agreed to the meeting, prosecutors allege Cordero-Castro stabbed the teenager to death.

Investigators said the illegal alien stabbed her at a residence blocks away from her home in Long Branch, New Jersey. When police arrived on the scene, Wells was taken to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead. More

Central American countries have sky-high murder rates, some of the highest in the world. So that’s part of what is being imported along with them. This is why we should turn away even the “unaccompanied minors” who come to the border.

MyPillow joins a growing list of private companies pitching in to address the shortage of face masks that U.S. healthcare professionals are facing as the number of COVID-19 cases continues to climb.

It remains unclear what kind of face mask MyPillow is making. Healthcare professionals are asking for the N95 respirator mask, which are in short supply around the country. The N95 face mask provides a more snug fit than other kinds of surgical masks, providing better protection from airborne pathogens.

Companies including 3M and Honeywell are set to manufacture millions of additional N95 respirator masks to protect doctors, nurses and other health care workers who are treating patients with coronavirus. Apple CEO Tim Cook recently said his company will donate millions of face masks to the U.S. and Europe. More

The group of six immigrants—including three children, ages 2, 7 and 10—is a family from Guatemala, according to CBP. All surrendered to border patrol agents who arrived on the scene.

If an American parent were to do this, they would be arrested and jailed in a heartbeat and the children removed from their custody. Why are these people exempt from our laws?

Two small migrant children appeared to be dropped from the Mexico side of the border into the Arizona side by a suspected smuggler, according to surveillance footage provided by the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) on Monday.

The children were dropped from the 18-foot wall near the San Luis Port of Entry, according to CBP release. One child suffered a facial injury.[…]

The suspect who helped the children over the border wall to the group did not cross into the U.S., CPB said, according to Yuma’s KYMA-TV.

That section of the wall where the incident took place is part of the 27 miles that has been selected for replacement in 2019, the station reported, citing the CPB. More

The left’s favorite fake black man, “social justice writer” Shaun King, quietly deleted a series of three tweets in which he praised Anftifa terrorist Willem Van Spronsen as the next “John Brown.”

Van Spronsen was killed by police in Tacoma, Washington, after he attacked an immigration facility by throwing firebombs and carrying a rifle. He was shot by officers called to respond to his attack on Saturday.

In social media posts, the Antifa psycho had used the same rhetoric as people like Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez who constantly say that ICE facilities are “concentration camps,” and he determined to blow up the facility in Tacoma. But, think of what this means… this terrorist wanted to burn down a facility that he claimed had “kids in cages.” Meaning, if he succeeded, he would have burned down a facility that had kids trapped inside, and he would have murdered them all.

According to police, Van Spronsen “attempted and failed to ignite a commercial-sized propane tank attached to the center, said Shawn Fallah, the resident agent in charge of the ICE Office of Professional Responsibility.”

“This could have resulted in the mass murder of staff and detainees housed at the facility” ICE agent Shawn Fallah said. “These are the kinds of incidents that keep you up at night.”

Despite this man’s criminal — not to mention purely inhumane and evil — intentions, Atlantic writer and fake black man Shaun King posted three tweets eulogizing and praising the dead terrorist.

On Monday, King, a man who posed as black man for years until he was outed as white, jumped to his Twitter account to praise Van Spronsen as the re-incarnation of John Brown, the wild-eyed anti-slavery zealot who had a hand in sparking the U.S. Civil War.

“Van Spronsen just became the first martyr attempting to liberate imprisoned refugees from a for-profit detention center in Tacoma, Washington,” King tweeted. “His hero was John Brown -the white abolitionist who led the raid on Harpers Ferry in 1859. This is what our country has come to.”

King next quoted part of the terrorist’s manifesto and described it as “a beautiful, painful, devastating letter.”

King wrapped up his disgusting praise of a terrorist, saying, “This is where Van Spronsen was murdered this weekend. His actions will be called terrorism, and people will call him crazy, but neither are true. His mind was very clear. He is now ‘arm in arm with John Brown.’ These camps must be shut down.

However, as soon as King began getting pushback on his tweet even from his own fans, the Black Lives Matter activist suddenly deleted the whole thread.

Once a petition reaches 100,000 the White House is supposed to reply.

As the White House “We the People” website explains, the petition platform empowers every American citizens “to become an agent of change” – and, if a petition gains 100,000 signatures in 30 days, the White House will “make sure it gets in front of the appropriate policy experts”

The We The People petition was launched during the Obama presidency in 2011. Obama often dragged his feet in answering to the petitions that reached the threshold for response.

Granted not much has ever come from any of these petitions.

Let’s face it, what group of politicians is going to let some on-line petition do their work for them?

Still, it is amusing to see so many lining up to impeach Pelosi.

We will have to see if the White House replies.

Democrat State Rep. Erica Thomas said she was “verbally assaulted” by a white man at a Publix store and told to “go back where you came from.” She claimed that a man named Eric Sparkes didn’t like that she was in the ten items or less line but had more items than that and he spoke up about it.

Thomas jumped to her Facebook page and pretended a tearful expose about the attack she claimed to have suffered. The Facebook entry went viral, of course.
