CANDLEMAS DAY - Feb 2, 2025

2025-02-03T00:08:00.001+08:00

Today Feb 2 is Candlemas day . Also known as The Feast of the Presentation of Christ in the Temple and referring to Simeon's word in Lk 2:32 a light to the revelation of the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel.. and The Feast of the Purification of the Blessed Virgin Mary because both events occurred the same Day – 40 days after the Nativity of Christ and this also commemorates Mama Mary's obedience to Mosaic law. ( mothers needed to be purified forty days after giving birth to a male child)

All Candles are blessed today to celebrate light - Jesus' coming to the world.

At Mass today, Fr. Jun Peralta our guest priests' sermon was a reflection about Jesus letting Himself be seen, when He was presented in the temple, and Simon the Priest upon seeing Him (Lk 2: 22-40) as the light source of our life force, we should be bearers and sharers of that light and it is our duty to protect and defend it (and avoid the things that might make us lose it through narcissism, despair, pessimism).

likened Jesus to a burning bush, and that each of us upon encountering God are blessed to have those embers of light that can create a spark to light another human being. May we be good bearers and sharers of Jesus light and may we be blessed by God with people too when we feel that we've lost spark and feel our embers sputtering so we can rise again and aid others.

ADVENT PRAYER

Lord Jesus, Master of both

light and darkness

send your Holy Spirit

upon our preparations for Christmas.

We who have so much to do

seek quiet spaces to hear Your voice each day

We who are anxious over many things

look forward to Your coming among us

We who are blessed

in so many ways long for

the complete joy of Your Kingdom

We whose hearts are heavy

seek the joy of Your presence

We are Your people,

walking in darkness

yet seeking the light.

To you we say,

"Come, Lord Jesus!"

THE 15 PROMISES OF OUR LADY FOR THOSE WHO PRAY THE ROSARY

2023-10-07T15:47:00.001+08:00

1. Those who faithfully serve me by the recitation of the Rosary shall receive signal graces.

2. I promise my special protection and the greatest graces to all those who shall recite the Rosary.

3. The Rosary shall be a powerful armor against hell. It will destroy vice, decrease sin, and defeat heresies.

4. The recitation of the Rosary will cause virtue and good works to flourish. It will obtain for souls the abundant mercy of God. It will withdraw the hearts of men from the love of the world and its vanities, and will lift them to the desire of eternal things. Oh, that souls would sanctify themselves by this means.

5. The soul which recommends itself to me by the recitation of the Rosary shall not perish.

6. Those who recite my Rosary devoutly, applying themselves to the consideration of its sacred mysteries, shall never be conquered by misfortune. In His justice, God will not chastise them; nor shall they perish by an unprovided death, i.e., be unprepared for heaven. Sinners shall convert. The just shall persevere in grace and become worthy of eternal life.

7. Those who have a true devotion to the Rosary shall not die without the sacraments of the Church.

8. Those who faithfully recite the Rosary shall have, during their life and at their death, the light of God and the plenitude of His graces. At the moment of death, they shall participate in the merits of the saints in paradise.

9. I shall deliver from purgatory those who have been devoted to the Rosary.

10. The faithful children of the Rosary shall merit a high degree of glory in heaven.

11. By the recitation of the Rosary you shall obtain all that you ask of me.

12. Those who propagate the holy Rosary shall be aided by me in their necessities.

13. I have obtained from my Divine Son that all the advocates of the Rosary shall have for intercessors the entire celestial court during their life and at the hour of their death.

14. All who recite the Rosary are my beloved children and the brothers and sisters of my only Son, Jesus Christ.

15. Devotion for my Rosary is a great sign of predestination.

PAINTING BY : SCOTT SLIGTING

This coming Mother's Day I'd like to share a story...

One December dawn last year after praying my rosary and upon opening my fone, this was the first picture in Instagram that I saw, I bawled my eyes out because i was feeling very off and depressed and seeing Jesus depicted hugging a woman in red, made me feel so loved 💓and assured and fired up.

The painting really did something to me it was like being given a deep long hug by God, an unexplainable experience, remembering it I still get teary-eyed.

I wanted to write and thank the painter for the experience, so I did, with the burning future dream that one day I'll buy that particular painting.

I browsed his website and saw that the woman Jesus was embracing was none other than MAMA MARY!!! Titled, BE STILL MY HEART, with a caption, A STUNNING PAINTING OF THE SAVIOR EMBRACING HIS MOTHER MARY the more that i bawled my eyes out again imagine that, I felt suddenly that I was somewhere in the middle of Jesus and Mary being group hugged!!! insignificant me in the midst of these two powerful loving beings.

The surprise and blessings didn't end there.

Mr. SCOTT SLIGTING the painter himself answered! He was so kind and humble that I had the gall to suggest,(shameful and ignorant of me, my apologies Sir Brother Scott🙏 ) lol me knowing nothing about paintings even told him of a wish that there will be more of Mama Mary that was clothed in blue as is always depicted in Catholic art.

( My brother Mark, scolded me saying did you even forget to realize that red is a symbol of MARTYRDOM? That being Jesus' mother, Mama Mary clothed in red meant she shared in Jesus every pain suffering, heartbreak, and grief.)

to my amazement, he conversed in my language ( Filipino) and found out that he and his family had been already going back and forth to the Philippines as a missionary in the Northern Region of the Philippines. Thank you so much for helping my countrymen Brother Sir.

He offered to give me a copy of the painting! I was so humbled, it was a kindness i will never forget, plus it was the best Christmas present that I have received, for it was not just a painting, but love and hugs from Jesus and Mama Mary through Brother Scott's painting. ( his paintings can be ordered at his website link posted above, proceeds go to charity and the many communities that they sponsor.)

Now it graces my room and it never fails to make me feel so loved by the Lord Jesus and Mama Mary. One day it will grace a building that anyone who enters it and sees it will feel too that wonderful hug of love.

Ah, how it makes me grieve when people bash and malign Mama Mary, they fail to realize and see that Jesus loved her so much and loved us so much too that he left us to her to aid us and love us. They fail to see His example in Jesus' last words in Jn 19:26-27 Woman behold your son, son behold thy mother. There are no orphans if only people realize and believe that we have a Heavenly Father and Heavenly Mother. She isn't Queen of Heaven and Earth and Queen of Angels for nothing.

I'd like to end this with a scientific and beautiful word for those who cannot accept the MOtherhood of Mama Mary and why Catholics hold her dear like our very own Mama. MICROCHIMERA

2019-04-07T10:41:00.002+08:00

I Asked permission to repost this tweet and with it brought about this reflection ive put off ..and with whats happening in #catholic christendom all around the world ..killings..clergy abuse in all forms...the #priest #priests #priesthoodnation #priesthood #priestlife are taking alot of attacks some justified and some very unjustified specially for those #struggling to be #holy .. we forget that where sin abounds, Grace abounds much more..we forget they are as human as we are.. they sin too..they cry too..they bleed alot too.. they lack alot of things too.. to the remaining good struggling priests we have your back.. we do..we ask that you keep holy..we need you! To be those examples..to keep fighting.. to be humbler.. to be wiser..to be as loving and as merciful as Jesus ...in return we will pray hard that God sustains you in everything...we cant lose #holyground anymore .. may Mama Mary always cover you with her mantle of protection specially at times that none can understand you or sustain you when you experience loneliness #holypriests #holypriest #holypriesthood #holypriestlife #catholic #christianitytoday #christian #laity #forgiveness stop making Jesus bleed :(

STRENGTHEN ME

2019-01-23T12:45:00.002+08:00

Strengthen me
under the pressure of temptation.

Strengthen me
when principle is at stake.

Strengthen me
to do Your Will, My God.

Strengthen me
in moments of suffering,
in times of loneliness,
in periods of depression.

Strengthen me
that I may never swerve from You, dear Christ,
nor weaken through human respect,
through a desire to be popular,
through hope of social distinction.

Strengthen me
to accept my cross and carry it generously to the end.

On the battlefield of life, stand by me
that I may never prove a traitor in the ranks.

Stand by me
that I may not be dazzled by the glitter and glow of the enemy camp.
PASSION OF CHRIST, STRENGTHEN ME!

Love? Love is Sacrifice

2019-01-16T13:12:00.003+08:00

#love yes its #sacrificial..we have the greatest example of what it is to love.. the unabridged version..Jesus..loving and obedient til death.. love is not love until youve realized youve sacrificed alot and your not willing to give up.. or sacrificed alot and say its time to give up to let them learn how it is to grow without you, and because you love them enough to let go

NEW YEAR 2019

2019-01-16T12:09:00.001+08:00

Thank you Lord for the year #2018 a year with a mixture of sorrow, joys and blessings, lessons and learnings, only with the gift of family love made us through all of it.. though we havent perfected it yet and were a long way off still..Thank you for the miracles great and small.. knowing it was You..

Hopefully this year may we able to give you thanks during joyfull moments , in our busy time.. may we find minute ways to look up and thank You, in trying times.. to be able to give you our full trust with the knowledge that You will never leave us and that You are with us... and in our quiet time to just be praising you for the blessing we are yet to receive and the blessing of saving us from things that we should have gotten as punishment and yet in your mercy we were saved from.

KINTSUGI PRINCIPLE

2018-02-07T10:16:00.001+08:00

according to Wikepedia , otherwise known as Kintsukuroi is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with lacquer dusted or mixed with powdered gold, silver, or platinum,. As a philosophy, it treats breakage and repair as part of the history of an object, rather than something to disguise.

a beautiful principle that we all can relate too, with God as the potter and we are His pottery

most times these breaks in our lives these moments of brokenness are the things that God uses to make us all the more beautiful :) Brokenness is being beautiful, He fills our cracks IF we let Him to the mending and makes us something into more beautiful , usefull, grace-full, love-able

we should always believe that there is a reason and a purpose for our brokenness, because there is :)

Let us let go and let God do the mending, He will if we only let Him

#Wind #windy #musings relishing nature at its finest.... listen to it it talks..

The higher the hill, the stronger the wind..

Listen closely to the wind.. its the sound of leaves in the trees dancing & writing beautiful poetry across the skies..

Good timber does not grow with ease. The stronger the wind, the stronger the trees.

When the roots are deep.. there is no reason to fear the wind

Love is like the wind you cant see it but you can feel it

Happiness is the wind in my hair :)

Breathe in breathe out.. inhaling that wonderful mountain air

Thank you Lord for caressing my face and hugging me :)

The Climb

2018-01-16T11:39:00.001+08:00

The best view comes after the hardest climb...

from where we are on top of the hill..
you realize its that was a hard climb..but seeing the view and going inside the chapel.. all worth it...you then inhale the air and look to your hearts content .. not thinking not analyzing just cherishing that moment.. regret not removing my shoes and feeling the grass under my feet :)

and then after a time ...you realize you will go down,
you need to go down,
you have no choice but to go down...
and make use of the little time left to rest a bit more,

so you have the strength to go down...
and climb another mountain...
and you bargain

you ask yourself are there other roads or a shortcut and you again realize theres none ... you rest for awhile.. absorb the view.. breathe deep..let the air caress your face.. stay awhile.. and resolve to finish this..

Close to nature ..Closer to God - CALARUEGA

Here I am Lord.. thank You for 4pms :).. thank You for not giving up on me.. sinner that i am..help me and those i encounter to begin again,

journeying with You.. because the struggle is real.. long..
the climb tiring .. its never easy..

when i want to quit and when its easier to do so..

remind me to rest and draw strength from You..
to focus..
to keep looking up!

..because i know your there
..cheering me on every single step
..every single stop
.. every single pant
..every single heave

....even if i dont see You..my faith knows and feels your ever there.. let me not lose hope but to keep trusting that you love me ......and always want my good!
