Color!

Although I am typically one to shy away from color, it really does feel good to get a good dose of it every once in a while. Here I tried an analogous color-block with a neutral bag and shoes, plus my trusty Ava bracelet, two Aurum bracelets, and Dagger earrings.

OOW! - Dagger

This week's OOW! is centered around our new Dagger earrings. Made of gold plated square studs and blackstone arrowheads, they are at once both glamorous and edgy.

For the first outfit we decided to do a color-block. All of the bright colors in this outfit are grounded by the nude shoes and earrings that are bold in shape but neutral in color.

In this second look, the dagger earrings assist in pulling black accents throughout the outfit. With everything black and white but the bright top, it allows the top to feel even more fun. It's a perfect pop of color to get in the spring mood.

Finally, we love the idea of pairing our dagger earrings with unexpectedly feminine pieces. The floral Erdem dress and red heels are contrasted by the Alexander McQueen skull clutch and our very own daggers. The overall look is beautiful, but not too pristine.

Fashion Challenge

Last month we held a fashion challenge to see what blogger could most creatively style one of our pieces three ways. There were lots of great submissions, but in the end we loved Sydney of the Daybook's creativity and enthusiasm. See for yourself!

Outfit #1 had the Tyrian necklace tucked into an all denim outfit for a casual look that was still absolutely sophisticated. Tyrian offered just a little bit of texture and shine to finish off the outfit.

Outfit #2 was a bit more dressed up, and let the Tyrian necklace take center stage. We especially love this outfit for those librarian glasses and red lips. Kind of a sexy librarian look, right?! I think this one may have been my personal favorite.

Outfit #3 really shocked us all. Sydney even changed her hair color! It looks like this outfit is even using the same jeans as Outfit #1, but what makes that most impressive is that this outfit is 100% different than the first. Just in her jeans and t-shirt Sydney is so casual, but with the blazer and Tyrian necklace she's got a lunch meeting look going on.

It just goes to show that one piece of jewelry can easily transform, or be transformed by an outfit. Oh, and by the way... I highly suggest you follow Sydney's blog the Daybook here.

Equus

The other night I wore my Equus necklace out to dinner with some friends. First let me say that the dinner was amazing. It was at a vegetarian restaurant called Golden Era here in SF, and if you live in the area you should definitely try it.

Obviously as a jewelry designer, I am an accessories kind of girl. So not only did I wear Equus, but I also paired it with a fur collar from another sweater of mine, a vintage belt, and a clutch. It was fun to mix in the petrified wood and stainless steel chain of my necklace with faux fur, leather, and the chain mesh of my clutch.

How quickly things change

These first photos are from Thursday when it was foggy and gloomy. Then, on Saturday I did a Gold & Citrus trunk show at Bloomingdale's. Ironically I spent the sunny day mostly indoors in my outfit of dark grays and blacks (Bloomingdales dress code). I do like the contrast of it against the flowers though.

Trunk show at Seams!

The first outfit we have it with here combines color and pattern for an eclectic vibe. Kaite adds texture to the outfit, while pulling the greens from the skirt up to your top. OOW! - Mystery

Lately I have been into slouchy loose outfits, and those with lots of texture, color, and pattern. Our Mystery necklace works great with these outfits adding texture with brown marble, fish vertebrae, stainless steel chain, and pewter spikes. Plus, the colors in the necklace are neutral so it can easily be paired with pops of color or used to complete a soft monotone look.

OOW! - Equus

Equus is an amazing necklace because it combines natural petrified wood with an industrial stainless steel chain. The contrast of the materials in this necklace make so much of a statement on their own, that when putting an outfit together you don't need much.

In fact, one of my favorite ways to wear this necklace is just with a solid tee and jeans.

Three Holiday Outfits, only 8 pieces!

So with this week's OOW!, I am secretly planning my own holiday outfits. It always makes me feel like I have been an extra great shopper if I can wear certain pieces more than once for holiday parties. Especially if I can get away with it because they look like totally different outfits. So below, I have styled eight pieces into three outfits.

Happy Thanksgiving!

I know Thanksgiving is tomorrow, but before we all get to indulging on food, and time with friends and family, we have something for you!

I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving! We will be making some fun recipes this year like spicy thai pumpkin soup, and slices of sweet potatoes with goat cheese, dried cranberries, and pecans on top. Of course, that is in addition to staples like broccoli and cheese casserole and pumpkin pie.

There are lots of great events coming up!! We will be at Bloomingdale's in Palo Alto this BLACK FRIDAY from 12-5. We will then be at the San Francisco location on Saturday from 12-6.

Another super exciting event coming up is Chillin' Productions. This is one of the only events you will be able to shop local designers, drink, watch live art, view a gallery of art, and be entertained by a dj. It's seriously amazing. And to top it all off, we are going to have a prize wheel this year.

Yup. You will be able to spin your way to major discounts, and free stuff at our table! I'll let you know more about that when it gets closer. But for now, here's the event!

OOW! - Gold Spicule earrings

In a way, our Gold spicule earrings are very basic. But they take a twist on basic with their asymmetry. At 3" long, the shorter earring ends about halfway down your neck, while the longer earring at 4 3/4" long ends at the base of your neck. The citrus tags at the end grab some light and add a little bit of glimmer while still being simplistic.

Right now I am into mixing textures and patterns, faux fur, and monochromatic outfits.
