On October 13, Sebastian was included in People Magazine’s annual “Ones to Watch” which labeled him as the new Louis CK.  Sebastian reacted, “He’s very very talented, so it’s flattering.  I’ve been doing this for 18 years, bouncing around clubs across the country and putting in my time doing hard work.  I guess people are kind of responding to it.”  Maniscalco is noted for his physical brand of comedy and is very animated while telling jokes/stories, often about food or his Sicilian upbringing.  Sebastian will perform at the Chicago Theatre November 25 thru 27 with 2 shows each day.  Gold Coast Tickets has seats available for all shows, grab yours today by clicking here.

The Bulls made some moves during the offseason, they added Dwyane Wade, Rajon Rondo, Robin Lopez, Jerian Grant, drafted Denzel Valentine & recently traded Tony Snell to the Bucks for 2013-2014 rookie of the year Michael Carter-Williams.  On the flip side, they lost Derrick Rose, Pau Gasol, Joakim Noah, Mike Dunleavy, E’Twaun Moore and Aaron Brooks.  There’s been a lot of intrigue & curiosity about the newcomers, like how much Dwyane Wade has left in the tank for his age (34), can Rondo regain his form that won him a championship in Boston, and most importantly, can the new players coexist & not butt heads with each other?  It’s hard to tell when Dwyane Wade, Rajon Rondo & Jimmy Butler all thrive when the ball is in their hands.  An early concern during the preseason was lack of outside shooting & how the Bulls would space the floor.  Through the first few games of the season, D-Wade has stepped up to become a threat from 3-point range & joins Doug McDermott & Nikola Mirotic among the team’s best.  Through the first 3 games, the Bulls are 3-0 for the first time since the 1996-1997 season.

One player to watch is undrafted Czech defender Michal Kempny.  He played 7 seasons in the ELH (Czech Extraliga) which is highest level of hockey in the Czech Republic, then transitioned to the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) for the 2015-2016 season & quickly became his club’s top defenseman.  In May 2016, the Blackhawks signed him to a 1 year contract with hopes that he will compliment Duncan Keith, Brent Seabrook, Niklas Hjalmarsson & Brian Campbell on defense.  Kempny played well in the Hawks first preseason game & was praised by Campbell who played alongside him on defense.  Tyler Motte is another prospect who made this year’s roster.  He played in 38 games for the University of Michigan last year & scored an impressive 30 goals with 24 assists.  Motte proved he belongs in this year’s lineup when he scored 2 goals against the Blues in the Blackhawks second preseason game at the United Center.  Coach Q called him “special” which is a compliment in itself, but he also likes Motte’s speed on the penalty kill & his ability to use his time on the ice productively.  Some early reports claim that he resembles Andrew Shaw with his size & ability to score in front of the net on loose pucks.

The trio of Nick Schmaltz, Vinnie Hinostroza and Richard Panik showed promise in the first preseason game of the season against the Stanley Cup champion Pittsburgh Penguins.  Schmaltz played with great speed & was constantly trying to set up his teammates for scoring chances which would make him a good fit if Coach Q puts him on the same line as Jonathan Toews.  Schmaltz played at the University of North Dakota & won an NCAA title before getting picked 20th overall in the 2014 NHL draft.  Gustav Forsling, the 20-year old Swedish defenseman was another standout in the team’s first preseason game & looked comfortable on the ice.  He’s been putting it all on the line during training camp/preseason & his efforts are paying off since the Hawks decided to keep him on their regular season roster.

Alexandre Fortin had the most productive preseason of the group, scoring goals & turning heads with his speed and skills on the ice.  The 19 year old signed a 3-year entry level contract with the Blackhawks at the end of the summer & showed that he will be a valuable prospect going forward.  Although he’s so young, Coach Q said he is a quick learner & absorbs information which is a big plus when he’s surrounded by teammates with playoff experience.  He will be an exciting addition to the Hawks in upcoming years & resembles last year’s Calder Trophy winner Artemi Panarin.

This season should be an exciting one to watch with all the young, new talent combined with the Hawks foundation of veterans.  Coach Q will have plenty of players to experiment with to create the perfect balanced line capable of bringing the Cup back to Chicago.  Plenty of seats are available for all home games by clicking here.

In 1993, the rap/hip-hop genre was dominated by Death Row Records out of Los Angeles.  When Notorious B.I.G. & Bad Boy Records quickly rose to prominence & compete with Death Row, tensions also grew.  Suge Knight, CEO of Death Row accused one of Puff Daddy’s bodyguards for the shooting death of his friend.  Then after Death Row signed superstar Tupac Shakur, tensions escalated further when he was robbed & shot multiple times in the lobby of a recording studio and suspected that members of the Bad Boy family were responsible. Both labels went back & forth with accusations & retaliation which lead to the ultimate demise of both Tupac & Notorious B.I.G.

The album Life After Death reached number one on the Billboard Top 200 chart while the first 2 singles (Hypnotize & Mo Money, Mo Problems) topped the singles charts.  The album went on to sell over 10 million copies in the U.S. alone & is one of the best selling rap records in history.  In 1996, Puff Daddy began recording his debut solo album No Way Out and its first single “Can’t Nobody Hold Me Down” peaked at number one on the rap, R&B and pop charts that spring.  After the death of Notorious B.I.G., the label rush-released the tribute song “I’ll Be Missing You” which featured Faith Evans, Biggie’s widow, along with the R&B singing group 112.  The single stayed at number one on the charts for eleven weeks and became the second hit single off Puff Daddy’s album which sold 7 million copies.  Bad Boy’s newest protege Mase was brought in to fill the void that was left after the death of Biggie.  His debut album Harlem World would go on to sell 4x platinum, making the last 3 releases from Bad Boy huge successes & catapulting the label to its peak by the end of 1997.

The Bad Boy Family Reunion tour features the labels best selling artists: Puff Daddy, Faith Evans, Lil Kim, Mase, 112, Carl Thomas, The Lox & French Montana.  The show was originally set to stop at the United Center on August 27 but was rescheduled to September 1 after Puff Daddy announced he needed a week to recover from a shoulder injury.  With a lineup like this, you can bet there will be a tribute for Notorious B.I.G who has been Bad Boy’s best selling artist, along with medleys of the biggest hit songs performed by the labels top acts.  This show will have nostalgic value for anyone who used to listen to any of the Bad Boy Family back in the 90’s, and the younger crowd born after Bad Boy’s decline.  Get your seats from Gold Coast Tickets by clicking here.
