This first clip shows how genuine 23k gold leaf is handled in the gilder's pad. The pad, made of wood, leather, and parchment is one of the gilder's tools that provides a place to keep the gold leaf while working on a project. The parchment forms a windshield to offer a barrier to help prevent draughts from blowing the leaf from the pad.
