Guys and girls here are both REALLY skinny. I mean like 26″ waist skinny. And there’s been maybe 1 fat girl. I’m a little bit above average *cough* and possibly really weird (??) looking with the result that I’m getting stares from every guy on the street. And not just the American glances. It’s the stop, STARRREEEE and move closer… I had two waitress girls from this fancy restaurant take cell phone pictures of me and Chendi.

Speaking of waitresses, all of them are really cute and wear these adorable chinese dresses. Also, all the girls have been going ga-ga over Chendi – which I think is super cute

We’ve been going back and forth between one shopping mart where I went to the most expensive store and bought a *gasp* $30 dollar t-shirt. My Chinese is super bad, but even I could tell the snarky salesperson was telling the girl I was with that first of all, the t-shirt would only go with SHORTS, and second, the baggy fit of the first t-shirt I tried on was good for my above average chest size *shakes fist*

We also ate lots of food. I mean LOTS and LOTS. There’s this special type of spice they grow and use here that numbs your mouth and it’s sooooo good and in everything .

Also, on a side note, about 1/5 of the guys here look EXACTLY like my friend leonard. Pretty hilarious.

Here’s life so far:

1. Twitter and Facebook are blocked.

2. I speak like a retarded 2 year old child in Chinese.

3. Watched some crappy Chinese television full of angry anorexic pale Chinese peoples talking about each others.

4. Complimentary breakfast = greeasy tasty chow mein + eggs + watermelon!

5. I can’t see past the next 3 tall buildings.

The layover in Tokyo was fun – gotta see some fashionistas in the airport!

Lately, I’ve been super obsessed with thrift store shopping and getting classic stuff to add to my wardrobe – while cleaning out the stuff that is years old and kinda fugs.

I <3 Goodwill Boutique.

You can get vintage Ferragamo heels for $20 or a nice leather waist belt for $10. I just scored a BCBG top for $10 and it’s rather pretty The current leather belt obsession I’m going through can’t be healthy…

So ladies, here’s how to efficiently shop for items at a Goodwill Boutique or other local thrift store.

1. Shoes: Leather is the best bet. It holds its shape and value for years and you’ll need to worry less about the shoes completely disintegrating after you take them home. Also keep an eye out for where it was made and the label that made it. I love Italian shoes for the quality!

2. Belts: Gosh, I always forget that you can get a nice black/brown/white belt in a thrift store for pennies on the dollar! Once again, makes sure it’s leather and the holes where you put the buckle through are relatively small – that means that it wasn’t used very frequently

3. Shirts: If you go to a boutique or consignment store, you can find some nice shirts for less. Be sure to try them on if you can, and check for stains under the armpit and neck. Also make sure all zippers work and buttons are there!

4. Jackets: Every once in a blue moon, I manage to track down a vintage wool coat that looks really fantastic! It’s important to try it on in store to make sure you won’t have the 80s shoulder pad look.

5. Eyeglasses: If you want a truly original and funky frame, think about going with a vintage pair from Goodwill or Salvation Army! Just be sure to try on the pair beforehand and make sure they’re a pair of prescription glasses – not reading glasses. I definitely saw one girl on set who had the most original gold and rose cat-eye glasses that were absolutely fabulous! And they only cost her $10!

In other news, I’m in the works for a possible new web series. If you’re in the Bay Area, keep an eye out for any Red Hawk Casino ads you might see on TV – I’m in them for about 2 seconds! Anyways, back to work.
