It is just a unique event – the city, the golf course, the people – they all contribute to what is always one of the best and most popular tournaments of the season for us players.

“Last year’s win was possibly the most special as I defended my title and also extended my record as the oldest winner on The European Tour. It will give me great pride to once again return as reigning champion. I hope that I can make it five!”

Keith Williams, General Manager of Hong Kong Golf Club, said: “We are delighted that Miguel will be returning to defend his title in the Hong Kong Open. He is an extremely popular player in Hong Kong, not only because of his fantastic record but also because he genuinely loves the golf club and the city, and truly appreciates the history of this great tournament.”

Ning Li, President of the Hong Kong Golf Association, added: “Miguel thrilled the golfing public in Hong Kong when he beat Stuart Manley and Prom Meesawat in a play-off to win last year, so we are delighted he is coming back. No player has won the title five times – or three times consecutively – so it would be fantastic if Miguel could do it this year and continue his amazing record in Hong Kong.”

The Hong Kong Open, which will take place from October 16-19, 2014, will be the penultimate event on The European Tour International Schedule before the lucrative Final Series. It will again be tri-sanctioned with the Asian Tour and Hong Kong Golf Association.

The tournament holds the honour of being the only national championship in Asia to be held at the same golf club since its inauguration in 1959. It has an impressive roll of honour that includes Major Champions Seve Ballesteros, Bernhard Langer, Greg Norman, Peter Thomson, Tom Watson and Ian Woosnam. Asian greats Lu Liang-huan, Chen Tze-ming, Lin Wen-tang and Kang Wook-soon have also tasted victory in Fanling.

The Hong Kong Open joined the Asian Tour Schedule in 2000 before being co-sanctioned the following year with The European Tour as part of the 2002 International Schedule.

GoPro Golf in Hong Kong at Kau Sai Chau

Red-Hot Tam Triumphs in Faldo Series Hong Kong Golf Championship

Hong Kong (August 3): Kitty Tam Yik-ching kept her cool in the heat of battle, producing a sizzling birdie spree en route to retaining her Faldo Series Hong Kong Golf Championship crown.

With temperatures soaring into the mid-30s, Tam’s game caught fire as she posted a scintillating second round of five-under-par 68 over the demanding North Course at the Jockey Club Kau Sai Chau Public Course.

That gave her a 36-hole total of 141 and a seven-stroke winning margin from Michelle Cheung, the first-day leader. It also guaranteed Tam a place in the starting line-up for the ninth Faldo Series Asia Grand Final, to be hosted by Sir Nick Faldo at Mission Hills next March.

Tam, who topped the overall standings as well as winning the Girls’ Under-21 category, said: "I'm excited to win and qualify for my fourth Faldo final. My best finish at Mission Hills is runner-up in my age group so I hope to go one better in March and become Hong Kong's first winner.

"I recently got back from the US following a few weeks with the Hong Kong Golf Association squad. That experience really helped my game and, as a result, I played really consistently this week."

For Tam, who currently has a handicap index of 1.1, the success continues a remarkable run of form since her triumph at Kau Sai Chau a year ago. In the ensuing 12 months she has won the Hong Kong Ladies Close Amateur Championship and the Hong Kong Junior Close Championship.

She also had the distinction of finishing as the leading Hong Kong golf individual in this year’s Asia-Pacific Ladies Invitational Championship for the Queen Sirikit Cup.

Joining Tam at the Faldo Series Asia Grand Final – a World Amateur Golf Ranking event – across the border early next year will be Michelle Liu Lok-in (Girls’ Under-16 winner), Isaac Lam (Boys’ Under-16 winner) and Ng Hon-lam, who edged Leung Hong-yee on a countback in the Boys’ Under-21 category.

The Faldo Series Hong Kong Golf Championship was played in conjunction with the 2014 Jockey Club Kau Sai Chau Junior Open presented by now TV.

Supported by The R&A, ISPS and Mission Hills and endorsed by the Asian Tour and the Asia Pacific Golf Confederation, the 2014-15 Faldo Series Asia campaign will stretch over 11 months and be made up of a minimum of 20 championships.

Recognised as the only global amateur series for boys and girls, the Faldo Series was established in 1996, expanding to Asia in 2006.

Today, 40 Faldo Series tournaments take place in 30-plus countries worldwide, touching more than 7,000 golfers each year. I've emailed them twice, tried calling, and filled out their online form but nobody picks up or replies. Several other posts on the web about this golf shop scamming people.

I have filed a claim with PayPal but don't expect to see anything back.

Here is the whois record for the domain owner, be careful of this guy - James Suh.

They also have an ebay store, the ebay store of Pacific Golf Clubs is probably also a rip off and they'll take your money and not deliver your products. Don't shop from this ebay store: http://stores.ebay.com/Pacific-Golf-Clubs-Shop

Nothing has been updated since last year so I presume this company has gone out of business (not surprisingly) but still taking peoples money

Don't buy from Pacific Golf Clubs, you'll be ripped off!

And here's some proof that this guy, James Suh or Jim Suh as he sometimes calls himself, is a crook and scammer:

You can read about other people getting ripped off by him here:

http://www.yelp.com/not_recommended_reviews/FNjsogJgtPt3g3jZ4J7xZg

James Leung - Golfinhongkong.com Blogger

HONG KONG TO FEATURE IN BONALLACK TROPHY FOR FIRST TIME

25 February 2014: Shinichi Mizuno will become the first ever player to represent
Hong Kong in the prestigious Sir Michael Bonallack Trophy following his
selection for the Asia Pacific team against Europe in India next month. In
another first for Hong Kong, the national coach, Brad Schadewitz has been
appointed Vice-Captain.

20-year-old Mizuno, a long-time member of the Hong Kong Golf Association (HKGA)
national squad commented: "I am thrilled to be selected for the Asia Pacific
team and to represent Hong Kong for the first time in the Bonallack Trophy. To
play alongside and against the best amateur golfers from Europe and Asia Pacific
will be a great learning experience. And to have Brad there in the team room –
who, along with the HKGA, has done so much for me as a golfer over so many years
– will make it extra special."

Schadewitz added: "Shinichi's selection for the Bonallack Trophy is just reward
for a strong 12 months during which he has climbed up the World Amateur Golf
Rankings and finished an impressive tied-eighth in the Nomura Cup in November."
Schadewitz continued: "For me, the invitation to be Vice-Captain of the
Asia-Pacific team is a real honour and a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. I see
this as a strong endorsement of the hard work that we and our partners are
putting in at the HKGA and our growing credibility in world golf."

Scheduled for March 26-28 at the Karnataka Golf Association course in Bangalore,
India, 12 of the best amateur golfers from Europe and 12 from Asia Pacific will
compete in a Ryder-Cup style format for the biennially-awarded Sir Michael
Bonallack Trophy. The matches are governed by The R&A, the European Golf
Association and the Asia Pacific Golf Confederation and the event namesake, Sir
Michael Bonallack, who holds one of the best amateur records in golf, will
attend.

The Hong Kong Golf Association (HKGA) is supported by a number of brands and
businesses. Golf Hideaway is an indoor golf center with two Full Swing Golf simulators.

If you live or work in Central, Quarry Bay might seem quite far but it's really just a 10 minute taxi ride or a quick MTR ride away. If you're driving, just take the Quarry Bay exit and there is parking near Golf Hideaway, about 1 minute walk away. With so many driving ranges in Hong Kong closing down and rent making many indoor golf places like City Links Golf Lounges hard to operate, Golf Hideaway is a great alternative and very easy to get to once you know how.

Golf in Hong Kong strongly recommends contacting Tour Spin Golf for more information on golf lessons in Hong Kong. They have experience teaching every level of golfer from all over the world and their golf coaches have the best reviews of any golf instruction academy in Hong Kong.

Where to Play Golf in Hong Kong

If you're visiting Hong Kong and wanting to play golf unfortunately there's not much choice. There's only a handful of golf courses in Hong Kong and only one is Public - Kau Sai Chau Public Golf Course, which has three courses - The East, North and South. Kau Sai Chau is about an hours drive from Central (with good traffic) and then a further 15 minutes by Ferry. The Ferry's go every 20 minutes (The Kau Sai Chau ferry schedule can be found at Kau Sai Chau's website) and it's a pleasant ride out. When going to play golf in Hong Kong at Kau Sai Chau, make sure you leave plenty of time as this is not a course you want to late for. Miss your tee time and don't expect to get out - tee times are booked up a week in advance and you often have to call several times to get through to the automated tee time system.

The other three (18 hole) courses, Clearwater Bay Golf Club, Discovery Bay Golf Club and the Hong Kong Golf Club, although private, do allow guests on during the weekdays for around HKD$1,500-$2,000. The Hong Kong Golf Club is an old tree-lined course with small greens, actually there's three courses, the New, The Old, and Eden. It's a good test of golf and you don't want to be even slightly off line at this golf course in Hong Kong.

Clearwater Bay Golf & Country Club is a very short course with some nice holes. If you play conservatively at this Hong Kong golf course, you can shoot a good score but if you play aggressively, you can make some easy birdies but just as easily rack up a big number.

There's also Nine Eagles Golf Course near the Hong Kong Airport, but it's somewhat disappointing with too many short holes to be challenging for experienced players and too difficult for beginners. Rumour has it that they're closing down sometime in 2014 so along with Asia Golf Club, there's going to be even less choice to play golf in Hong Kong. Either they swung too hard, trying to kill the ball, or they tried to manipulate the golf club unnaturally in some way. Here are a few ways that can help you stay more balanced when next play golf in Hong Kong.

When setting up make sure your weight is on the balls of your feet. This is critical not only for staying in balance but also for swinging the club on the correct path. Having your weight too far forward on your toes or too far back on your heels will make your swing path get off track and the only way to hit a good shot will be to make compensations for it in your swing, then you'll need to head over to Tour Spin Golf to get a golf lesson in Hong Kong.

A good tempo is something all the touring pro's have. A Hong Kong golfer who maintains proper tempo in their swing can really gain a tremendous amount of distance and accuracy. It's not about swinging as hard as you can to hit it far. In fact, trying to swing too hard will almost always work against you. If you lose your balance, that golf club is getting off path and you'll suffer from inconsistency with your golf shots and get very frustrated.

If you've ever watched golf on TV, they make the golf swing look effortless. This is because their swing tempos are so smooth. No one is trying to kill the ball or swing 100% as hard as they possibly can - well some do, but they still swing n control and in balance. Most golfers in Hong Kong could benefit greatly by simply learning to slow their golf swings down a bit and consequently stay more balanced.

For more tips or to book a golf lesson in Hong Kong, check out golflessonshongkong.com

Hong Kong Open Day 3

From The Golfchannel.com

HONG KONG – Stuart Manley of Wales put himself in position for a first European Tour title by shooting a 4-under 66 Saturday to take a one-shot lead into the final round at the Hong Kong Open.

Manley made the most of benign conditions at the Hong Kong Golf Club to roll in six birdies mixed with two bogeys for a total of 10-under 200.

Wade Ormsby of Australia and Shiv Kapur of India both shot 66 as well to sit tied for a second, while defending champion Miguel Angel Jimenez of Spain (65) was among a trio of players a further stroke back.

Manley has never finished better than ninth on the European Tour, and the most notable moment of his career so far came last month at the World Cup of golf when he followed up a hole-in-one by making 11 on the next hole.

He was a lot more consistent on Saturday, and knows he needs to keep that up to close out the victory.

''I will use the same approach tomorrow. I not going to change anything,'' the Welshman said. ''I have nothing to lose. I will go out there and get it done.''

His only mishap this time came on the 16th when his approach shot hit a sprinkler head and the ball bounced away from the hole. He ended up collecting his second bogey on the day.

''That was a stiff one to take and very disappointing but the good thing is that I bounced straight back with a birdie on the 17th,'' Manley said.

Overnight leader Jbe Kruger on South Africa only managed a 73 after four bogeys and a double bogey and plummeted down the leaderboard to a tie for 21st.

In contrast, Kapur managed to stay bogey free to put himself in contention.

''I stayed patient and I was rewarded for it. Today was all about putting myself into position,'' Kapur said.

Jimenez is a three-time champion in Hong Kong and made seven birdies mixed with a double-bogey on the 15th.

''I'm hitting the ball well and I'm just a couple of shots behind and in in the right place,'' Jimenez said.

Guan to Play Hong Kong Open

HONG KONG, November 19, 2013 (AFP) - The Guangzhou schoolboy sent shockwaves through the sport at the US Masters in April when, aged just 14 years, five months and 18 days, he became the youngest golfer to make the cut at a major tournament.

He will return to the world stage at the beginning of December at the Hong Kong Golf Club, where Spain's Miguel Angel Jimenez will defend his title.

"This year has just been an incredible journey for me. Until now that is. The fella's at Polara Golf have come up with the world's first anti-slice golf ball and much to our testers' surprise, it actually works!

First, an introduction to our two Guinea Pigs. Wilson Chan is a Hong Kong native and plays off a 24 handicap and plays golf way too much, like 3-4 times a week minimum. Like most hackers, and let's be clear, he's a hacker, he hits a 40 yard pull slice that goes about 200 yards. When he does manage to get it straight he can get it out to about 230 yards. Derek Clements is nicknamed the Scottish Sensation, but we think he just made that up himself. He plays off a 15 and hits the ball long and crooked. Much to his displeasure and his playing partners' wallets pleasure, currently he has a two way miss going, so both players were keen to test a ball that I said would make their balls go straighter.

Our testers played four rounds of golf using all four of Polara's self correcting golf ball series - the Ultimate Straight, the Ultimate Straight XS, both of which boast up to 75% correction on hooks and slices, as well as the EDS (Extra Distance and Spin) and XD (Extra Distance), with 50% self correcting properties. The course is Kai Sai Chau East Course, Hong Kong's only public golf course and one of the more difficult courses we've played (miss the fairway you lose your ball type thing).

Polara has used all the fancy technology to prove their balls go straight but we wanted to use real golfers just like you, and see how they did. To begin with, here's the first two comments we got from Wilson and Derek. "F$&*in unbelievable!" and "Are these things legal?!".

Let's get the con's out of the way. These balls are not legal and have been banned by the USGA but hey, any golfer thinking about putting these balls in their bag isn't going to be teeing it up in a USGA event anytime soon and the guys at Polaris full realise this, which we think could get a lot of people on their side. They're not trying to be something they're not and whilst they might have more eloquent words of putting it, they're basically giving the USGA the bird and saying, "up yours, let's let the average golfer decide". For this, (and for other reasons following) we applaud them.

Next, there is a noticeble but not deal-breaking difference in distance particularly with the Polara US. How much we're not quite sure, but regardless, for both of our testers, the loss in distance wasn't enough for them to give these balls a bad rating. For those who find themselves searching for their ball or taking a penalty drop from a lateral every other hole, the answer is clear. To shoot lower scores you've got to stay out of trouble and avoid penalty shots and Polara golf balls will help you do this.

Lastly, and this was the biggest con for both our testers, in order to get the anti-hook/slice advantages, you need to have the side stamp pointed in the direction of the target, so unless you play lift, clean and cheat, the advantages can only be experienced from the tee box, or if your ball happens to end up with the side stamp aiming at the target. For our testers at least, they're happy to use a non-conforming product, but they want to play the ball as it lies. Still, for a very large percentage of the high handicap golf population, the tee shot remains one of the most important and both our testers said although it was a factor, the benefits still outweighed the cons.

Speaking of benefits, there's really ony two words that sum up the Polara Golf balls - "they work". Both testers say they experienced "dramatic" and "noticeable" improvements in terms of the straightness of their shots. I'm too much of a golf snob to play a whole round with the balls but I teed up 3 and tried to hook the living crap out of them and the most I got was a slight draw.

The Ultra Straight XS was the pick of the bunch for both testers and despite Polara recommending a 3 wood off the tee because of the lower ball flight, both our testers found the balls playable with their driver despite the slightly lower ball flight.

Featured in the New York Times, Forbes, Fox News, Wired, The Golf Channel, ABC's Good Morning America, ESPN The Magazine, Yahoo Sports and numerous other reputable media channels, the golf balls have been making some noise and with a product that does what it promises (go straighter), Polara Golf appear to have found themselves a nice niche in the highly competitive golf equipment business.

As for the technology, go to Polaragolf.com for an explanation of how they work. The Polara self correcting golf balls can also be bought at polaragolf.com and we definitely recommend trying them for at least one round to see the difference.

We also recommend checking out Win McMurray having a chat to Polar Golf in this video
http://www.golfchannel.com/media/pga-show-012512-polara-golf-balls/

Polara Golf are also currently offering a six ball trial pack for just USD$9.95 with money-back guarantee - impressive stuff.

This ball might not sell millions in the Asian golf industry as most Asian golfers like to use what the Pro's use (even if it's to their detriment, which it is the vast majority of time) but there will still be a lot of players wanting to at least give it a try and why not, these golf balls make golf easier.

Check out the Polara Golf Website - polaragolf.com

And find them on Youtube, Facebook and Twitter

http://www.youtube.com/user/PolaraGolf?feature=watch

http://www.facebook.com/PolaraGolf

http://twitter.com/polaragolf

Kai Sai Chau Greens A Mess

If you're thinking about teeing it up at Hong Kong's only Public Golf Course, think again, as the greens are a total right-off, as witnessed here in this fella's Facebook post.

Whats Happening at The Hong Kong Golf Club

From the SCMP

The silence was deafening, troubling in fact. For weeks the populist crusade raged over reclaiming the land where the Hong Kong Golf Club at Fanling sits to build public housing.

An ambitious green group had an idea that instead of building new housing tracts in the New Territories, the government should take the 54 holes at Fanling, which has hosted the Hong Kong Open since 1959, and tear them up to erect row upon row of much-needed housing instead of evicting small groups of villagers and farmers from their land. After all, it's merely a playpen for a couple of thousand of the city's richest people.

The government, besieged by perpetual ineptitude and terminally poor popularity ratings, is desperate to try anything so they nodded in approval and said, hmm, it might be worth exploring.

A slew of pious poseurs in print and on the airwaves gleefully joined the fray, denouncing the sense of entitlement among the one per cent of the one per cent. And in response to a growing avalanche of criticism, the people who run Fanling said … nothing. Beaten on like a helpless piñata, they officially had absolutely nothing to say.

Even if I wanted to sit this brouhaha out, I can't because I actually play the game, although not particularly well, and apparently have to apologise for indulging in this blissful misery known as golf.

I've also attended a number of Hong Kong Opens, which according to one so-called commentator is "a snob sporting event for the wealthy few". That's certainly news to my forlorn bank account. Compounding all of this tripe, we also have a green group that wants to get rid of the green.

Let's not forget the Hong Kong government, whose Secretary for Development Paul Chan Mo-po is overseeing the entire project of developing housing in the New Territories. In a disgraced government, Chan has redefined the genre and is embroiled in another scandal in which he is accused of buying up derelict land tracts for a song some 20 years ago that he now proposes to turn into new government housing projects and which would immeasurably increase the value of the plots. Of course, he claims it was his wife who bought the land and subsequently sold it to her brother so there is no conflict of interest here whatsoever.

After more than three weeks of silence the club finally issued a press release that, not surprisingly, read like a lawyerly, corporate tome and helped to perpetuate every myth of their membership being totally out of touch with the realities of Hong Kong.

I know it would be uncharacteristically common of you to issue a spirited defence, but as well intentioned as your efforts may be they fall as flat as a noodle at the worst possible time. You talk about how "you share the public's concern for the best use of land resources, and the anxiety of all those villagers and farmers affected by it", but in what way exactly?

The overwhelming sentiment in comment pages, letters to the editors, call-in shows and online is in favour of tearing up the course for housing and don't be surprised if there is an "Occupy Fanling" movement at the next Hong Kong Open, which is also fighting for its very existence after losing its prime spot in the golfing calendar and is still without a sponsor.

While I know you are awash in protocol and all of the members of the club are in lockdown mode as far as public comments, you guys are on the wrong side of class warfare right now. Maybe some backroom deals are afoot with your government contacts to save as much of the course as possible. But this will only heighten the sense of entitlement surrounding your club, particularly now that everyone knows the government leases the land, all 170 hectares of it to you, for the princely sum of one dollar a year.

There is a new day dawning here, it's not business as usual anymore. It's time to get over yourself and to let us see some of your faces, to stand up and tell us you are tired of all the misinformation. Unless it's not misinformation. In which case, best to dummy up. But since space is such a valued commodity in Hong Kong, I offer you as much as you need. Loosen up the Windsor knot and take the gag off because we would love to hear your side of the story. I won't even charge you a dollar in rent.

Hong Kong Open Prize Money Slashed
The attraction index of the Hong Kong Open continues to plummet, with beleaguered organisers poised to cut the prize money drastically - by US$700,000 - for this year's tournament, which is still struggling to attract a title sponsor.

Another round of belt-tightening will reduce prize money for the December 5-8 showpiece at the Hong Kong Golf Club to US$1.3 million, according to an informed source. This will be the second hefty cut in successive years, resulting in the purse shrinking by more than 100 per cent from a high of US$2.75 million in 2011. Last year, US$2 million was on offer.

The European Tour, which co-sanctions Hong Kong's oldest professional sporting event with the Asian Tour, refused to confirm the prize fund will be slashed, but it is understood the failure to sign up a title sponsor to replace UBS has forced organisers to take this drastic measure.

The tournament has also yet to get financial backing from the government's Mega Events Fund, which over the past two years has pumped in HK$23 million - HK$15 million last year and HK$8 million in 2011.

"Prize-fund details remain unconfirmed but we hope to be able to announce a figure in the next couple of days," said European Tour spokeswoman Vicky Jones. "What we can confirm is the tournament will take place from December 5-8 as planned and we are continuing to work towards securing a title sponsor for this year as well as future editions.

"As for Mega Event funding , an announcement will be made by the MEF secretariat in due course," Jones said.

The reduction in prize money is one more nail in the coffin for the open, which is under severe pressure to attract marquee names to Fanling this year.

The tournament will clash with a number of high-end events including the US$6.5 million Nedbank Golf Challenge in South Africa, Tigers Woods' World Challenge in the US and the US$2 million OneAsia Championship in Dongguan.

The European Tour had admitted earlier the competition could affect the field in Hong Kong, and the reduction in prize money will not help. And this year's tournament will not be part of this season's "Race to Dubai", after Hong Kong lost its coveted spot as the penultimate leg in the European Tour's Order of Merit to the US$7 million Turkish Airlines Open.

Hong Kong Golf Association officials were unavailable for comment while the body waits for its new chief executive, Tom Phillips, to take over the role from Iain Valentine, in two weeks.

To add to all the tournament's woes, the Hong Kong Golf Club is also in the crosshairs following moves by lawmakers asking the government to develop the 176-hectare Fanling site for housing instead of razing existing villages in the New Territories.

The Hong Kong Golf Club finally issued a statement this week, saying the Fanling course was vital to the continued existence of the Hong Kong Open.

"Apart from the Macau Grand Prix, the Hong Kong Open is the only world-class sporting event with a history of more than half a century in the region, and is one of the few world-class sports events held annually in Hong Kong at the same venue," it said.

That world-class tag is now under threat.
The Hong Kong Golf Club Losing A Course
The prospect of the city's most prestigious golf club being ploughed up for housing has moved a step closer, with a lawmaker saying its management had raised no objection to the idea at a recent meeting.

Secretary for Development Paul Chan Mo-po said on Friday there was scope for reviewing the use of the 170 hectares of land at Fanling occupied by the Hong Kong Golf Club, the host since 1959 of Asia's oldest professional golf tournament - the Hong Kong Open.

Yesterday Chan said Fanling Lodge - the summer residence of colonial governors and, since 1997, of chief executives - and adjoining golf club land could make way for housing.

The future of the club, with its three 18-hole courses, the oldest laid out in 1911, has been a bone of contention since the government unveiled plans to build new towns called Fanling North and Kwu Tung North on 333 hectares of land.

Environmental group Green Sense has suggested using the golf club land for housing instead of taking farmland and demolishing village homes to build the new towns.

And on Thursday villagers in the northeastern New Territories, whose fields and homes in the area are also under threat of eventually being taken for housing, threatened to occupy the golf club unless the government scrapped its plans.

<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-IL6mJMhYcMA/Ufh1vpmTiSI/AAAAAAAAC8E/Aj6IHyFm4nQ/s1600/the-hong-kong-golf-club.jpg" imageanchor="1" said Cheung, who talked to the board chairman and chief executive of the club.

Chan, however, said the land lease of the golf courses would not expire until 2020 and it would take years to redraw plans for the new towns.

"It should not be seen as a substitute," he said on radio.

A spokesman for the club declined to comment.

Under the terms of its lease, the government needs to give 12 months' notice, but no compensation, if it takes back the land.

Chan revealed the government's intention to review the use of the lodge and golf course land only after his announcement of the new-town developments on Thursday met with opposition. His statements have been seen by some as an attempt to avoid angering the public.

Green Sense president Roy Tam Hoi-pong said the group would propose its own development plan in September.

Tam said the land could provide homes for 120,000 people. As currently planned, the two new towns would provide homes for 174,900 people.

The group's plan for the land would include sites for recycling businesses, he said.

As well as Fanling, the 124-year-old Hong Kong Golf Club, "one of the world's most distinguished golf clubs", according to its website, runs a nine-hole course in Deep Water Bay. The Hong Kong Open tournament has attracted top players from around the globe, including Rory McIlroy, formerly the world No 1.

Civic Party lawmaker Ronny Tong Ka-wah, a golf player, although not a member of the club, said he did not think "the city should fill every inch of green and leisure space with flats" and questioned whether the land was enough for a new town.

Pro-establishment lawmaker Ann Chiang Lai-wan said: "The long history of the club is part of the city's collective memory. Instead of removing it, the government should force it to review its membership policy and make it more open to the public."

Leupold Rangefinders Now Available at Golf Shop Hong Kong

Golf Shop Hong Kong now has available the number 1 rangefinder of PGA Tour caddies - Leupold Rangefinders. Golf lesson programs under conducted by Hong Kong golf coaches can be very beneficial. Talking about golf improvement tips with other golfers can also assist making you play better at courses like Kai Sai Chai Public Golf Course. But many people feel there is something especially beneficial about using golf instructional videos as learning aids. Because of their effectiveness, golfing lessons on video have become more and more popular since they were first introduced around 10 years ago. Just don't forget nothing can take the place of a real live golf lesson in Hong Kong.

Golf lessons in Hong Kong Island have been around for many years however in recent years, there are golf lessons that are available on books from the internet and instructional videos. Golf lessons videos and books provide visual learning and this is very important to a great deal of people. There are several findings that support and prove that when people engage their senses of both sight and sound, they tend to learn better and faster and they can remember the information much better. Most beginner golfers in Hong Kong, and even those who are experienced, tend to prefer to actually see the golf swing improvement techniques demonstrated, as opposed to simply reading the text about the method being taught.

One other reason why golf training videos in Hong Kong are popular and advantageous is because they are more accessible to more and more people. They can save the Hong Kong golfer a lot of money as compared to hiring a golf coach in Hong Kong for a series of golf lessons. You can always go back and review any golf lesson at any time without having to dig into your funds to pay for a golf coach in Hong Kong.

Another advantage is that these golf lessons on video can usually be stopped and reviewed at any point in time, which is not something that is possible in a presence of a Hong Kong Golf Coach. So use golf instructional videos to help your game, their are many benefits, just don't forget they can't and will never replace having a golf lesson in Hong Kong from a real coach.
Get The TaylorMade R1 Driver in Hong Kong for HKD$3,100

The TaylorMade R1 Driver is the hottest driver on the PGA Tour and is now available for a very special price through Golf in Hong Kong - just HKD$3,100.
