According to the Billboard Biography.....The Railer's story begins in 2002, when brothers Jordan Lawson and Jonathan Lawson, both born and raised in Missouri....
were attending North Arizona University in Flagstaff.

Both brothers were studying music, and one day in a grocery store Jonathan bumped into a woman whom he recognized from one of his classes.

The woman was a voice student named Cassandra, and not only did they hit it off personally....
they would later get hitched.

They soon discovered they had similar tastes in music, and she began working on songs with Jonathan and Jordan
.
In 2003, Jonathan decided to move to Nashville in search of a career in the music business, and both Cassandra and Jordan followed him within the next few months.

In Nashville, the three friends met drummer, Tyler Oban, originally from Indiana.

All four had jobs within the music business.... Tyler was playing drums with several acts,
Jordan had a gig with Josh Turner.....
Jonathan worked with Sara Evans, and Cassandra did song plugging for a publishing house.

In September 2010, they formed Tin Cup Gypsy, with Jonathan on fiddle, mandolin, and vocals. Cassandra on concertina and vocals... Jordan on guitar and vocals. and Tyler on percussion.
Tin Cup Gypsy soon landed a spot opening for Jonathan's old boss Sara Evans, and began headlining club dates in Nashville.

In 2012, the band adopted the new name The Railers, and soon landed a recording deal with Warner Music Nashville, as well as a publishing contract with Sony/ATV Music.

In 2014, the Railers dropped their debut single, "Kinda Dig the Feeling," which fared well on the country airplay charts, and the band hit the road with,,,,

too.
It must have rubbed off.....
just a little.

He has always maintained an active presence at the Grand Ole Opry.
When his debut single, "The Impossible" hit the charts, he was performing on the Opry every available Saturday night, and he quickly became a favorite with the Opry crowd.

“So I was like, ‘That’s what I want to do.’ I just kind of always knew.”

His first record purchase was Keith Whitley’s L.A. to Miami, followed by the likes of Randy Travis, Tracy Lawrence and Brooks & Dunn. He sang so much around the house that he jokes his parents.... “blocked him out.”

But as puberty approached, the young tenor found himself facing adversity for the first time.
“I was singing all of Vince Gill’s stuff, and then my voice changed,” Young laughs.
“For about a year there, I thought, ‘Oh my God, I’m ruined. It’s the end of the world!’ And then I realized I could sing Randy Travis songs. It worked out well."

I don't wanna be your Monday morning heading back to work
Stuck in traffic going slow, nothing on the radio
I don't wanna be another chore to check off on your list
Things you gotta do, places that you gotta go, oh no

I wanna be your Friday Night sweet ride
Summertime sunshine barefoot in the moonlight
I wanna be your jackpot hot spot
Wide open road in a candy apple rag top
I wanna set you free, I wanna take you high
I wanna be, wanna be your Friday Night
Oh your Friday night

We can rock together, let the good times roll forever
Fill up our cup make a memory, drink it up
I don't wanna miss another minute, wanna live it with you
Neath the blue sky fallin' in love

I wanna be your Friday night sweet ride
Summertime sunshine barefoot in the moonlight
I wanna be your jackpot hot spot
Wide open road in a candy apple rag top
I wanna set you free, I wanna take you high
I wanna be, wanna be your Friday night
Oh Friday night

I wanna be your lemonade in the shade
Money in your pocket cause you just got paid babe

I wanna be your Friday night sweet ride
Summertime sunshine barefoot in the moonlight
I wanna be your jackpot hot spot
Wide open road in a candy apple rag top
I wanna set you free, I wanna take you high
I wanna be, wanna be your Friday night
Oh your Friday night
Hey, your Friday night
Hey, your Friday night
Your Friday Night
