One of our most popular dog harnesses, the No-Pull Dog Harness has a new cousin! Meet the Freedom Dog Harness. Both are the patented design of Wiggles, Wags & Whiskers.

This new harness is also made of sturdy, nylon webbing and has a contrasting double loop between the should blades, and a metal d-ring for your dog's ID Tags on the front. Currently it is only available in the keystone webbing. We carry variations of the No-Pull Harness in various trims including polka dots, plaid, flowers and many other ribbon trims. Both harnesses come in 1 inch wide and 5/8 inch wide for small dogs breeds under 40 lbs. Inaugural Madison Dog Paddle Makes a Big Splash

Five hundred or more dogs of all breeds enjoyed a cool swim at Madison's Goodman Pool on Labor Day 2007. The first ever event in Madison was held by Capitol K-9s, the group that raises funds for the K9 Unit of the Madison, WI Police Department. The event was a big hit, and far exceeded the hopes of the group. Modeled after a similar event in other cities around the US where only 60 dogs attended the first year. High noon was the peak swimming time for the pooches, from 2 lbs Chihuahuas in the kiddie wading pool, to crowds of Golden Retrievers, Springer Spaniels, and Border Collies. Contest included the Biggest Splash, the Coolest Wet Dog, and Farthest Fetch.

The funds raised from the event will go to purchase new K-9 units for Madison police in 2008 and 2009. Officials said that a single K-9 unit costs between $50,000 and $60,000. Upkeep of each dog costs between $5,000 and $10,000 yearly. All of that is funded privately by Capital K-9's, through private and corporate donors and fundraisers.

The Dallas Dog Paddle, TX, event had a successful second year event in August, including radio coverage from 3 popular stations.

Good-Doggie Boutique owners Michael & Debra Hermsmeier had the pleasure of meeting Greg, one of the K9 dogs, and his Partner Officer Bart O'Shea. We are proud of the Madison K9 Unit and look forward to being a part of next year's event.

It's true - we will soon carry a line of organic dog treats, that have Sadie's paw of approval - and her photo. Good-Doggie Boutique is working with a California dog bakery to create 'Sadie's Love Sponge Peanut Butter Hearts.' Ok - there is a story behind this. Sadie has recently been trained and certified as a therapy dog with the Delta Society. Her new nickname is Love Sponge, so we chose this name for the treats which will feature her photo. You can see more photos of Sadie, the mascot of Good-Doggie Boutique in our Pet Gallery. We will soon post the treats on our website, with a full-color photo. And watch for the official blog post about Sadie passing her Delta Society Evaluation through the Madison organization Dogs on Call.

Pet Friendly Hotels in Wisconsin

We offer a Pet-Friendly Travel Directory on our website and some of the facilities are ones we have stayed at. We recently stayed at AmericInn in Minocqua, Wisconsin. They were a very pet-friendly hotel. They welcomed Sadie, gave us a nice room - not a smking room like many hotels do when you bring your dog. It was also near a rear exit from the hotel which led out to a beautiful nature trail to explore with our dog. We highly recommend this hotel/motel and would stay there again.
