This is a long post, but there is so much good stuff. A few choice excerpts:

The embodiment of the conservative dream in America is Texas.

We further support abolition of federal agencies involved in activities not originally delegated to the federal government under a strict interpretation of the Constitution. We reject
the EPA defining repairs as upgrades.

We urge that all bills presented in Congress include citations to the authorizing constitutional provision, cost to implement, and impact on the family.

We oppose expansion of federal law-enforcement authority and use of military against citizens.

We demand elimination of presidential authority to issue executive orders and other mandates lacking congressional approval, as well as repeal of all previous executive orders and mandates.

We oppose the Census Bureau’s obtaining data beyond the number of people residing in a dwelling, and we oppose statistical sampling adjustments in the “mid-decade” census. We urge that U.S. citizens who, because of religion or conscience, are compelled to withhold their full response to any census question, be held guiltless. We support the actual counting of people and oppose any type of estimation or manipulation of data.

We also urge the Texas Legislature and the United States Congress to enact legislation prohibiting any jurisdiction from allowing any substitute or parallel system of Law, specifically, but not limited to, Sharia Law…

We oppose a mandatory national animal identification system requiring registration of all animals, of animal owners and their properties, including GPS coordinates and the use of RFID technology.

The Republican Party of Texas supports the historic concept, established by our nations’ founders, of limited civil government jurisdiction under the natural laws of God, and repudiates the humanistic doctrine that the state is sovereign over the affairs of men, the family and the church.

We oppose any attempt by Congress or any federal agency to implement any policy comparable to the “fairness doctrine” as terminated in 1987.

We urge Congress to adopt the Constitutional Restoration Act and support the principle of judicial restraint, which requires judges to interpret and apply rather than make the law. We support judges who strictly interpret the law based on its original intent. We oppose judges who assume for themselves legislative powers.

We call Congress and the President to use their constitutional powers to restrain activist judges. We urge Congress to adopt the Judicial Conduct Act of 2005 and remove judges who abuse their authority. Further, we urge Congress to withhold Supreme Court jurisdiction in cases involving abortion, religious freedom, and the Bill of Rights.

We support legislation requiring labor unions to obtain consent of the union member before that member’s dues can be used for political purposes.

We urge immediate repeal of the McCain-Feingold Act.

We support the withholding of campaign contributions to organizations or campaigns including the Republican National Committee, the National Republican Senatorial Campaign Committee, the National Republican Congressional Committee and all other organizations or campaigns which would support candidates who do not support the principles of the 2010 Texas State Republican Party Platform.

We oppose any governmental action to restrict, prohibit, or remove public display of the Decalogue or other religious symbols.

We support adoption of the Pledge Protection Act. We also demand that the National Motto “In God We Trust” and National Anthem be protected from legislative and judicial attack.

We oppose the legalization of sodomy. We demand that Congress exercise its authority granted by the U.S. Constitution to withhold jurisdiction from the federal courts from cases involving sodomy.

We believe that the practice of homosexuality tears at the fabric of society, contributes to the breakdown of the family unit, and leads to the spread of dangerous, communicable diseases. Homosexual behavior is contrary to the fundamental, unchanging truths that have been ordained by God, recognized by our country’s founders, and shared by the majority of Texans.

We oppose the legalization of sodomy. We demand that Congress exercise its authority granted by the U.S. Constitution to withhold jurisdiction from the federal courts from cases involving sodomy.

We believe rental of a woman’s womb makes child bearing a mere commodity to the highest bidder and petition the Legislature to rescind House Bill 724 of the 78th Legislature.

We unequivocally oppose the United States Senate ratification of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, which would transfer jurisdiction over parental rights and responsibilities to international bureaucracies.

We oppose school–based clinics and/or youth impact centers located at, sponsored by, or funded by any state agency or public school district, whether or not they dispense condoms and contraceptives or refer, aid, or advise minors to have abortions.

We urge the Congress to defund, repeal, and reject the national healthcare takeover, also known as “ObamaCare” or any similar legislation.

We support amendment of the Americans with Disabilities Act to exclude from its definition those persons with infectious diseases, substance addiction, learning disabilities, behavior disorders, homosexual practices and mental stress, thereby reducing abuse of the Act.

Realizing that conflict and debate is a proven learning tool in classrooms, we support objective teaching and equal treatment of all sides of scientific theories, including evolution, Intelligent Design, global warming, political philosophies, and others. We believe theories of life origins and environmental theories should be taught as challengeable scientific theory subject to change as new data is produced, not scientific law.

We support teaching the principles articulated by Republican Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., that we be judged not by the color of our skin but by the content of our character and we celebrate positive contributions to our society by members of all cultural groups without emphasizing their differences. We favor strengthening our common American identity and loyalty instead of multiculturalism that emphasizes differences among racial and ethnic groups.

Parents have the inherent right to raise and educate their children, even when they are on school property. We urge the Legislature to enact penalties for violation of parental rights.

Students should be led daily in the Pledge of Allegiance, the Texas Pledge, the National Anthem, and be taught flag etiquette and patriotic songs to ensure that the loyal and patriotic spirit of Texan
and American heritage is preserved.

Neither Texas public schools nor their students should be used by groups (such as ACORN community organizers), as instruments to promote political agendas, but rather to focus on history, reading, writing, mathematics, and science.

We oppose any sex education other than abstinence until heterosexual marriage.

We support school subjects with emphasis on Judeo-Christian principles (including the Ten Commandments) upon which America was founded and which form the basis of America’s legal, political and economic systems. We support curricula that are heavily weighted on original founding documents, including the Declaration of Independence, the US Constitution, and Founders’ writings.

We support the establishment and maintenance of a volunteer Constitutional State Militia, with assistance from County Sheriffs.

We affirm that the public acknowledgement of God is undeniable in our history and is vital to our freedom, prosperity and strength. We pledge our influence toward a return to the original intent of the First Amendment and toward dispelling the myth of separation of church and state.

We deplore all discrimination. We also deplore forced sensitivity training and urge repeal of any mandate requiring it. We urge immediate repeal of the Hate Crimes Law. Until the Hate Crimes Law is totally repealed, we urge the Legislature to immediately remove the education curriculum mandate and the sexual orientation category in said Law.

We believe a person who injures or kills an unborn child should be subject to criminal and civil litigation, whether the child dies in the womb or is born alive.

We encourage state and federal governments to severely prosecute illegal dealers and manufacturers of addictive substances and pornography. We urge Congress to discourage export of such substances into our country. Faith based rehabilitation programs should be emphasized.

We support repeal of the Civil Rights Attorneys’ Fee Awards Act, which allows for payment of attorneys’ fees to sue the government and to suppress freedom of religion.

We oppose all bailouts of businesses, states, and all other government entities. We encourage government to divest its ownership of all business that should be run in the private sector and allow the free market to prevail.

We oppose any government support of special interest organizations, such as ACORN and the ACLU.

We recommend a national sales tax (which does not include a Value Added Tax) to replace all other Federal taxes once the I.R.S. is abolished and the Sixteenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution is repealed. However, until such time that the income tax is abolished, we support deductions for private and home schooling, home mortgages, and sales taxes.

We oppose any legislation that supports any type of “Cap and Trade” policy, or ceding any energy policy authority to any world agreement. We support the abolition of the Department of Energy. We support an immediate end to the deep water drilling moratorium in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico.

We urge the Legislature to resist making Workers’ Compensation mandatory for all Texas employers.

We believe the Minimum Wage Law should be repealed.

As long as it exists, We, The Republican Party, call upon the United States Congress to act immediately to pass a bill to require a full and complete audit of the Federal Reserve System and, that upon completion of the audit, the results be immediately provided to the United States Congress and to the People of the United States. We believe Congress should repeal the Federal Reserve Act of 1913.

Our individual freedom and the independent sovereign authority of our State government have been obliterated by Federal statutes enacted by Congress and enforced by the Chief Executive and the Courts. What Congress has destroyed by statute can be restored by statute. Now is the ideal moment to push for new federal laws designed to restore freedom and State sovereignty. We strongly resolve that the Texas Legislature honor Texas’ State Sovereignty, as reserved under the 10 th Amendment, with the understanding that Texas will retain its sovereignty, freedom and independence and every power, jurisdiction and right which is not expressly delegated to the federal government by the U. S. Constitution, and oppose mandates beyond the scope of the Federal authority.

We strongly believe that the United States of America must protect and defend its national sovereignty as given in the Constitution to the people and remain free of external control or influence and be governed independently of any foreign power, especially with regard to the formation of the North American Union/Community as proposed by the Council of Foreign Relations (CFR).

We support a national and local civil defense system. We strongly believe that Congress should rescind all gun laws infringing upon our constitutional rights.

Our foreign policy with Israel should reflect the special nature of this relationship … Our policy is based on God’s biblical promise to bless those who bless Israel and curse those who curse Israel and we further invite other nations and organizations to enjoy the benefits of that promise.

We oppose a one-world government in direct opposition to our basic principles and eroding our sovereignty. We oppose the implementation of one world currency.

We believe it is in the best interest of the citizens of the United States that we immediately rescind our membership in, as well as all financial and military contributions to, the United Nations.

We urge the Texas legislature in its next biennial session to enact legislation requiring a sonogram be performed and offered as part of the consent process to each mother seeking an elective abortion.

It was going to all about how the jury on ‘Anthropogenic Global Warming’ is still out and how we can’t spend billions and billions of dollars on some crackpot theory that a bunch of ‘climate scientists’ are pushing. At the same time as they’re getting tons of grant money to study the very same issue that they are pushing, I might add. A clear conflict of interest.

Anyway, I can’t write that post today because I can’t think straight. My jaw is killing me. About a month ago, my tooth started hurting. I couldn’t tell at first whether it was a cavity or whether I had a sinus infection. Sometimes those two things are hard to tell apart. I was a little worried because I love sweets, and I go to bed every night with one of those cinnamon hard candies to help me fall asleep. But I still wasn’t sure if it was a cavity or a sinus infection, so I decided to wait it out. If it was a sinus infection I thought it’d take care of itself and I could avoid the cost of going to the dentist. Bad idea. The pain got worse, and instead of just one tooth hurting, it seemed like a few teeth. Finally, last week, I broke down and went to the dentist, and boy am I mad.

It turns out that I need a root canal. Apparently, it wasn’t a sinus infection at all. According to the dentist, my addiction to sweets has been wreaking havoc with my teeth. He said that ignoring the initial tooth pain has made the whole situation so bad that now I need oral surgery, which is going to cost a ton more than if I went to the dentist a month ago. I’m still not sure that it’s the sweets, though. I mean, don’t people who don’t eat candy get cavities too? Why should I give up my sweet, sweet candy if we can’t really be sure?

So maybe after my root canal I’ll feel up to talking about Global Warming, but for right now I’m too distracted with the pain and angry at myself for not going to the dentist earlier. If I had only heeded the obvious warning signs and acted early, I could have avoided a lot of pain and expense. And also I’m out of cinnamon candies. I’ve got to go to the store.

This legislation would cap the amount of pollution that is allowed in America, and then let companies buy and sell the ability to pollute. If your company pollutes less, then you can sell your excess pollution capacity and make money. If you pollute more, you can buy excess capacity to pollute, and this would act as a market pressure to reduce your level of pollution. The whole idea is to let market forces mitigate the pain caused when you reduce the overall level of pollution.

This is a horrible idea. I know I’m usually for market solutions, but this is a fake market solution. The whole point of the free hand of the invisible market is that it is free. Obama wants to put limits on what the market can trade. Essentially, he wants to grab the free hand of the invisible market and make it punch itself, just like in 5th grade. But instead of chanting ‘stop hitting yourself’ over and over until the playground monitor stops him, Obama wants to sit back and pretend like he’s done us all a favor.

Here’s the real market solution. If pollution is a real issue, then enlightened customers will do business with companies that pollute less. That’s the market force that’ll reduce pollution. And if there’s no market pressure to reduce pollution, then it can’t be a real issue. After all, if the market isn’t rational, and companies can’t be trusted to act in the interest of the long-term good rather than short-term gain, then laissez faire capitalism is a dangerous farce.

But let’s not even consider that. It’s ridiculous on the face of it. After all, when’s the last time you heard of a company that caused a long-term problem just for the sake of short-term profit?

I haven’t posted in the last few days, and I apologize. I’ve been laying low. A census worker came to my house because I didn’t turn in the form they mailed to me, so I had to hide. They even went next door to see if my neighbors would rat me out, but they (thankfully) didn’t know anything about my household at all. I guess that’s the benefit of not getting along with your annoying neighbors and their stupid cabbage-smelling house. And I didn’t want to use the internet, because that’s how they get you. Anyway, that brings up the census.

If you didn’t fill out the census forms that Obama mailed you, they send a census worker to your house to get you to fill out the form, and this is not sitting well with the public. Census workers are apparently getting attacked a lot more this year than in the past. About double the previous rate. And it’s no wonder, with this tyrannical administration. People simply don’t trust the government to use the census information properly. Even Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) has spoken about this distrust (link). It’s difficult to know what to do. What do you think?

The runoff is being held on Tuesday, July 13, and I strongly suggest that all Alabamans show up to the polls and exercise their American right to participate in their own governance. It’s our own form of participatory democracy which helps keep America great. We get to choose the leaders that represent us the best.

In support of his candidacy, Barber has released the following ad (entitled “Gather Your Armies”), which I strongly encourage you to watch:

I think it’s clear what Alabamites have to do: vote for Rick Barber. He stands for what all true Alabamians do:

Hanging out with the Founding Fathers,

Being angry at things to the left and to the right of you,

The impeachment of Barack Hussein Obama,

And if that’s not enough, the abolishment of the IRS,

To further the prevention of Obamacare,

And failing that, the gathering of armies to overthrow the government

Sure, it’s not clear if he’s advocating revolution only if Obamacare isn’t repealed and/or Obama is impeached, or whether he wants to overthrow the government anyway, but what is clear is that this guy is wild-eyed angry. And that’s got to appeal to the millions (and maybe billions) of disaffected Americans. After all, isn’t being angry the bedrock principle of the Tea Party?

Think about it — don’t Americans want someone who represents their beliefs? And don’t we all want to impeach Obama and dismantle the government? This guy’s a dead cinch in Alabama. Alabamiacs are finally going to have a truly representative Representative.

I mean, I’m happy that they didn’t lose, and I’m happy that they outperformed expectations, but I’m still finding it difficult to get excited by soccer.

Soccer is okay. (Also known as football or fútbol if you don’t have the advantage of being American) There’s nothing wrong with it, per se, but why wouldn’t you just play baseball? Or if you don’t have the skills to play baseball, cricket?

In retrospect, the thing that makes me happiest is that a Ham-lover named Green was completely humiliated by making such a simple mistake that it makes you think that he’s cognitively challenged. English goalkeeper Robert Green allowed the US to score on what was (frankly) a weak kick by letting the ball get away from him. We all watched as he scampered helplessly after the ball, unable to stop it’s meandering progress toward the goal.

So cheers, Alvin Robert Greene, for your actions this last week, and here’s hoping that are the first of many!

There’s been a lot of controversy about the Alvin Greene victory in the South Carolina democrat primary for the Senate. Not many people had heard of Greene before his victory, and yet he pulled out an impressive win.

After the primary, it came out that Greene has pending felony obscenity charges against him, that he was discharged early from the military, that he is flat broke and yet somehow paid the $10,400 filing fee for the race. He didn’t campaign, or have yard signs. He didn’t give any speeches or hold any rallies. He doesn’t have a website, a facebook page, or a twitter account. He hasn’t raised any money at all during the campaign. He’s been spectacularly unimpressive in interviews since his victory. He can barely string one sentence after another. About the only positive thing that anyone can think of is that his name alphabetically preceded his opponent.

Some conspiracy theorists are saying that he’s a plant to make sure that Sen. DeMint keeps his seat, or to embarrass the democrat leadership in the state. Others blame general voter apathy. What do you think?

The main thrust of the article is that the lack of this central authority means that the power of the Tea Partiers is being diluted among a lot of causes and candidates. This is keeping it from being as powerful a movement as it could be.

Well, I tried. Back on February 7, I announced the formation of a new Tea Party umbrella group, TPAIN, whose aim it was to concentrate the power of the disaffected and angry. The Tea Parties for America’s Indivisible Nation group was supposed to focus all of this anger into real change. We kept it up for a while, but it never really took off the way I’d hoped. There have been some, well, issues.

Mainly, it’s difficult to meet up with other TPAIN members since we’re spread out across all of America. I thought at first that we could use webcams and such to teleconference, but it seems that most TPAIN members only have dial-up, or are connecting from a library computer. Webcam conferences were a bust.

Second, it’s difficult to separate the TPAIN brand from the other Tea Party groups. But don’t worry, I have an excellent idea. It not only makes us immediately stand out from the crowd, but also demonstrates our superior grasp of American history.

Most Tea Partiers go to rallies dressed in tri-corner hats or other colonial costumes, but that doesn’t truly represent the original Tea Party. Most people forget that the real original Tea Partiers of the Boston Tea Party actually dressed up as Mohawk Indians. So I propose that real modern Tea Partiers (as represented by TPAIN) also dress up as Mohawk Indians at every rally. It will make us stand out, and we might even pick up some Native American support.

Thursday night, Keith Olbermann had an interview with Alvin Greene, the man who won the democratic nomination to run for the Senate in South Carolina. Here’s a link to the video (link). Watch it. You won’t be sorry.

He seemed disconnected from reality, took most of his answers from an off-screen prompter, and was entirely unimpressive. You really have to watch the video to understand the scale of what I’m talking about. The man seems (as Rahm Emanuel would say) cognitively challenged.

So why are the democrats calling him a ‘plant’? Why do they assume that it’s some kind of Conservative election tampering, just because the SC democratic party hasn’t ever heard of this guy, and he’s unemployed, and been charged with a felony for obscenity, and still managed to pay a filing fee of over $10,000, in cash? Is it because South Carolina has an ‘open primary’ system, where Republicans can vote in the democrat primary? Is it because this guy didn’t have any yard signs, any rallies, any interviews, not even a website, and still beat the establishment candidate that had all of those things by twenty points?

He just seems like a normal, run-of-the-mill democrat to me. It’s no wonder he won the democrat primary.
