This blog post discusses how to get started. Chances are, you've seen the large wind turbine farms, miles long, with massive wind turbines configured to maximize electricity generation and then to deliver it into the grid at wholesale prices. They are often combined with solar panels to collect energy on days where there is insufficient wind, and the farmland is planted in switchgrass, which is sold to biofuel refineries that make cellulosic ethanol. It's a vision of the future, and, thanks to incentives, it's happening quickly.

Stimulus Bill May Change Life As We Know It for Energy, Education: How To Plan, Protect, Participate - Free-Press-Release.com [del.icio.us]

interesting

Stimulus Bill May Change Life As We Know It for Energy, Education: How To Plan, Protect, Participate [del.icio.us]

The Stimulus Bill could change life forever for people in energy, education, infrastructure, and environmental fields. The web symposium will cover the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.
If you can't attend, a link will be made available to the archived copy. Podcast of overview: http://www.beyondutopia.net/podcasts/stimulus.mp3
Slated to begin at 2 pm CDT, and to contain an hour of presentations and discussions with a panel of experts, the web symposium will allow audience members to check their knowledge, ask questions, and get information about the steps needed to participate in the government programs. Perhaps most importantly, presenters and participants will probe the long-term strategic implications of policy and spending decisions.

Sodražica, Slovenia: The Good Deeds Society Essay Contest Winner

On February 5, Alenka Uhr (of Sodobnost) and I traveled to Sodražica, a town nestled in mountains, and made famous for being the birthplace of an influential Slovenian writer and thinker, Ivan...
Intrusive thoughts can cause cognitive interference, as can the emotional response that one naturally has to the idea that the world as we know it is coming to an end. This article provides information from clinical psychologists and psychiatrists into the nature of intrusive thoughts and cognitive interference, and offers strategies and suggestions for learners. Self-regulation, self-efficacy, instructional strategies, cognitive awareness, study skills are addressed.
