<p>There is a craze right now for using the 1000 calorie diet to lose weight quickly, but there are many warnings that go along with this diet. First of all it should be noted that 1,000 calories are not many for someone to live off, and even a small framed woman would struggle at this level if she were even just a little active. This means that if you do consider restricting your diet to so few a number of calories, and this is not recommended, then it should only be for a couple of days, and never longer than five days.</p>
<p>One of the problems with consuming so few calories is that your body decides it is in starvation mode, which it is, and starts to save as much energy as possible, which cuts down on the amount of weight that can be lost. It is best to vary the number of calories, so that your metabolism does not get stuck at any one level.</p>

<p>It is recommended by many in the weight loss world that you only lose a pound or two a week, so that you have the energy to stay active, and your body doesn’t think it is being starved. Weight which is lost gradually has more chance of staying off too than weight which is dropped quickly. Trying to stay on a calorie reduced diet can be just too drastic for your body to cope with, as it is difficult to get the nutrients your body needs with only 1,000 calories a day.</p>
<p>However, should you decide to take this drastic action, then remember to make sure that your 1000 calories have nutrition in them, and are not empty calories, and also remember to drink lots of water too. By eating so few calories in a day, it is generally accepted that these will be spread out during the day, with three small meals and a couple of very small snacks, and the total number of calories consumed in a day being around the 1000 mark.</p>
<p>Depending how many calories you normally eat in a day, this diet plan could have you feeling exceptionally hungry, and grumpy too, and can easily result in binge eating, which is damaging in more than one way. Not only does it mean you are not stocking to the diet plan that you have chosen, but the chances are very high that you will end up gaining weight, and if by some chance you manage to stay the same or lose a little, by not sticking to the plan, you will probably not be feeling very good about yourself, and poor self esteem is not a good thing to have.</p>
<p>Naturally you should talk to your healthcare professional before you consider any diet plan or weight loss program, whether it is the extreme 1000 calorie diet, the water diet, the juice diet, or any other diet plan. After all, these professionals are supposed to know what is good for us.</p>

Now the length of time spent on this diet has been suggested as the number of days it takes you to get rid of the symptoms of detoxification, plus 2 days.For some people this will only be a few days, but for others the process may take a lot longer, but if you are considering this approach, talk to your doctor about it before hand, and if you are still on the diet after a couple of weeks, you might want to check back again, just to make sure all is still well with your health.</p>

<p>The detoxification of this diet can lead to various unpleasant side effects, depending on the toxins that your body has to lose. It literally does take the juice out of the food, and keeps the fiber in the juicer basket, while the juice passes out through the spout. There are a few different types of juicers too, but that is for another day.</p>
<p>One of the concerns with this diet is the large volume of fruit and vegetables that you need to make enough juice for each day, and that the juice is best made fresh. True, you are encouraged to drink plenty of water as well to aid the process, but the foods need to be of good quality, and some juice diets recommend using only organic foods.</p>
<p>There are many different recipes for juices to use during your juice fasts, so there is no need just to use one fruit for the juice. In fact, it is far better if you mix different juices together so that you can increase the nutrients that are available to you from the juice, although some ingredients are used mainly for their flavor, others for their color, and others for both the nutrition they provide as well as the flavor.</p>
<p>One of the advantages of the juice diet is that the nutrients from the fruits and vegetables used are more easily digested by the body after they have been through a juicer, so this gives the stomach a bit of a rest from having to digest a whole mixture of different foods.</p>
<p>So, whether you try the juice diet to do a little fasting is entirely up to you. I know I couldn’t handle having just juices for a few days, even if it is really good for me. I’d rather eat a good diet with all the healthy foods needed to give me the nutrients I need. I guess I just enjoy food too much! But if you do use the juice diet, remember to see your doctor first, before you start juice fasting.</p>

<p>First of all, let’s consider the human body, and compare it to that of a car. If you fill your car with milk instead of gasoline, the chances are that it will not run very well if at all, since it has been built to run on gasoline. One diet that is receiving great reviews at present is the food combining diet, although perhaps it is better to say food combining way of eating. It involves not so much a diet as a different way of eating, and it has produced some spectacular results both in terms of weight loss and health benefits.</p>
<p>One of the main differences with food combining is that fruits are never eaten with anything other than fruit. This is because of the way the body processes fruit, and it is much easier for the stomach to digest foods of the same kind, so eat all your fruit at one sitting, maybe as a breakfast, or a lunch, or even as a mid afternoon snack. It is healthy for you, and you may find that your body tolerates foods that it didn’t before as a result of eating this way. I know it has for me.</p>
<p>There are foods that you are encouraged to eat, like oatmeal, legumes or pulses as they are also called (dried beans, peas and lentils), and of course fresh vegetables. Those same foods are encouraged to help lower cholesterol, and play a part in a diet called the Zone.</p>
<p>For years now the Zone diet has got a lot of coverage, and for good reason. It is basically a balanced diet, that contains all the right food groups, (and no, junk food is not one of those!), with portion sizes that are not excessive. More than this, it encourages balanced meals, meaning that at each meal you eat a certain amount of protein, carbohydrates and fats.</p>
<p>You count the food you eat on the Zone diet in terms of blocks of protein, carbohydrates and fats, having the same number of each at each meal, usually 3 or 4, and each block contains a certain number of grams of food. It can be rather off putting trying to figure out what amounts you should be eating, but it is a very healthy diet, and it does produce good weight loss, provided you do not over eat.</p>
<p>Both of the diets mentioned above give great customer satisfaction.</p>
<p>I’ve tried them both, and they do work very well for weight loss, maintaining good health while losing pounds. Yes, they are two good diets that work well for every one, but you have to try them yourself to succeed yourself.</p>

If you lead a pretty sedentary life, then you will not need as many calories as someone who runs 10 miles every day.</p>

<p>One of the many diets out there is the water diet, and the good thing about this is that, besides water being so readily available to most people, and it being so cheap, this water diet complements other good diets that work well.</p>
<p>So, how much water do you need to drink? This diet encourages you to drink 64 fluid ounces of water every day, and it can be tap water, or bottled water, as long as it doesn’t have anything added to it and it is 50 degrees or cooler in temperature. The temperature of the water is an important factor here, because this is going to burn up some calories, not a lot, but hey, every calorie lost helps with that weight loss.</p>

<p>Now, the 64 ounces of water you need to drink should be taken over the course of a day, not all at once, so that equates to 8 glasses of water if the glass is an 8 ounce size.  Now, an eight ounce glass is just one cup or half a pint, or 250 ml, which isn’t a great amount, but how this water diet works is that because the water is cold, remember it is 50 degrees Fahrenheit or colder, and the body is normally 98.6 degrees, then the body has to work to raise the temperature of the water so that it reaches the same temperature as the rest of the body. In doing this, the body uses energy, and if the rest of your diet doesn’t change at all, then you have just used up some calories that you will not replace. In other words, you have lost weight. Now do be aware that it takes about 12 calories to raise the temperature of 2 cups of water, so we are not talking about a huge number of calories here, but every few help, right?</p>
<p>On the other hand, maybe you could cut out that extra cookie, or walk an extra block every day, and you will use up more energy, but this water diet can be used along with other diets designed to lose weight, and as water is always said to be good for you anyway, it certainly shouldn’t hurt you.</p>
<p>So, if you are planning to lose weight, or you already are on a diet program, then you could add in the water diet and see whether it makes a difference to your weight loss, or to how you are feeling.</p>
