Season Closing, Midweek Kids

We’ve been having SO much fun Wednesday evenings with the Midweek Kids, faces were long when we announced that May 16th was going to be our LAST night already! Solution for sad faces: a trip over to McDonald’s for a sundae at the end of the usual meeting time, as well as prizes for so many perfectly-memorized scripture verses!

We’ve accomplished quite a lot over the year, earning these awards:

Also, we have completed the following service projects:

Made beeswax candles as “thank you” gifts for the Elders & staff at our church
Made Valentine’s Cards for our shut-ins
Designed and decorated the bulletin board for Valentine’s Day, and for Spring
Sorted out the extra toys we had at church
Spent some time making sure the church grounds are clean of garbage

One of the most valuable things that has happened, over this year of discipling and enjoying God’s work in these young lives, has been the bond of friendship that has developed between all of us: we will definitely be keeping in touch!

Congratulations–New Baby!!

Praise the Lord with Shirley and Stan Branch, as they welcome a new grandson: “Annan”, born May 7th, 3 months premature, to mom Natalya and father Annan.

Mom is doing well and Baby is improving, being cared for in a Winnipeg hospital–he will be in the incubator for a few weeks yet. Pray for them–and rejoice with them!

Servants Needed

Midweek Kids’ Craft

The girls have been busy making whimsical “castles”, out of toilet paper rolls and: toilet paper! Watered-down white glue painted on top of the tissue, finishes the look of white “stucco”.

You can see why one of the girls said we are thankful to God for toilet paper!

Congregational Meeting

Please set aside Sunday, June 10th, 7 pm, for our next Congregational Meeting. This is to approve the 2012-13 budget, elect Elders and handle any other business that should be brought before the meeting.

Baptism Class

Pastor Brian will be holding a baptism class later for anyone interested in considering baptism. Attending this class does not commit you to participating, but informs you as to what is involved. If you are interested, please let us know so we can plan a date and time suitable for this class.

Bulletin Changes

We are using a more streamlined Order of Service in the bulletin for the next month. The service itself will not change and the leadership will continue to give direction to our worship. It is our desire to enable everyone to enter into worship easily and comfortably.

The staff welcomes your feedback in person, by phone or by email, though we would ask you to be patient for a couple of weeks to get a feel for the new format.

Future Community Lunches

These monthly lunches have been a great way to meet new people, and connect with old friends over a bowl of hearty soup, held in the Fellowship Hall right after the service.

We need a Small Group or group of people to host the Community Lunch in the coming months. Our first three lunches have been hosted by the small group led by
Rob Dean. Now we invite other groups or ministries to step up and host a lunch. We need one for Sunday June 3 first. Please let us know when your group will host a Community Lunch!
