We celebrate holidays as a form of remembrance. What happened in Soweto on June 16th, 1976 was an ugly reminder of where South Africa was a nation.
Today, however, I would implore us to also look at this occasion as a motivator to build for the future.
Young people are more powerful than we can comprehend. We can resign ourselves to complaining about our countries many challenges OR we can apply our minds and use our intellect and hands to build the South Africa we want to see. We're resourceful because we have nothing to lose. We're bold because we haven't been demoralised by 'experience'. We can build this.
In this regard, this ingenious poster by Channel O really speaks to us.

So greetings from Oslo, Norway where we will be performing on Thursday. We love you all, South Africa, and can't wait to return home to build with you all.
