Konny Reimann is a German who emmigrated to Texas in 2004. He couldn't speak english but tried the American dream.

He made a holiday resort north of Gainesville and built a lighthouse shaped house called Villa Hamburg after his hometown in Germany. All followed by reports and shows in Geman TV.

Today he is a celebrity in Germany.

Apple New Headquarter Campus 2 Spaceship, Cupertino CA - image overlay

The so called spaceship will be Apple's new Headquarter. The official name is Campus 2. Steve Jobs had a hands-on role in designing the facility. Cost will be about 5 Billion US-Dollar. The scheduled completion date is 2016.

The actual headquarter can be seen about a mile west.

Bad planned road crosses football ground

The county of Krohnsminde in Norway has made a huge mistake when they planned a new road at a hospital at the local stadium.

They simply cut a corner of one of the football/soccer grounds for the kids without telling it to the club. Only the health department was told about it by the county.

So now the football club have no stadium for the upcoming season.

The Jungfrau Railway Train tour

The Jungfrau railway is an 9 kilometres cog, toothed railway of which the top 7 kilometres is inside a mountain tunnel. The railway climbs almost 1400 altitude meters (4600 ft). The railway inside the Eiger and Moench mountain massive include 2 active stations, the "Eigerwand railway station" inside Eiger mountain, which offer an impressive view from and of the 1800 m (5900 ft) Eigerwand ("Eiger North wall") and the "Eismeer railway station" on the col between Eiger and Moench with a spectacular view of the Eismeer ("Icesea") Grindelwald-Fiescher glacier. The railway ends below the Sphinx Observatory at the Jungfraujoch ("Jungfrau col") railway station, the highest railway station in Europe at 3454 m (11333 ft).

About the "Jungfrau Railway Train Tour": The tunnel (red) track/path is not precise, mostly an outline, due to no found official altitude and position data avaiable. Station positions along track/path should be fairly close to real world. Recommended to be viewed as a 'Play tour' in Google Earth with the '3D buildings' and terrain layer enabled and a viewing angle above 80 degrees for touring track/path. To adjust viewing angle, choose menu 'Tools', 'Options', Click the tab 'Touring' and change the 'Camera Tilt Angle' to above 80 degrees. The default is 60 degrees. To play a specific path track, mark the 'three dot icon' path track, press the 'Play tour' option and enjoy the train ride. Tour and track creator: Tom Kjeldsen, created april 2013.

Freddie Mercury Memorial Stars in Feltham

2009 in the shopping center a memorial was made for late Queen singer Freddie Mercury in the London suburb of Feltham where the he and his family lived the first years in London.

Due to weather and wear damage the star is now gone and the council let make a new and smaller one on the opposite side of the shopping center.

Abandoned highway strip with aircraft stands

On the road between the Bulgarian villages Bjala Slatina and Borovan the Bulgarian Air Force had a aircraft highway strip during the cold war used by the Warsaw Pact countries until 1989. Since 1990 it's abandoned and the aircraft stands in both sides are overgrown with grass and plants. Up to 10 aircraft could be parked on each stand.

The runway was 2km (1.42 miles) and was wided out from 2 to 5 tracks.

The Mangyongbong-92, named after a hill near Pyongyang, is a passenger ferry built in 1992 to celebrate the North Korean leader, Kim Il Sung's 80th birthday. The ferry was built with funds from Chongryon, the pro-Pyongyang General Association of Korean Residents in Japan.

It is the only direct connection between North Korea and Japan.

The Boeing VC-25 is the designation of a United States Air Force passenger transportation aircraft, a military version of the Boeing 747 airliner. The A-model (VC-25A) is the only variant of the VC-25.

The Thor Heyerdahl Sailing expeditions

Colonisation of the new worlds! In 1938 and ahead Norwegian Thor Heyerdahl proved by a series of sailing trips in rafts of ancient design that it was possible for Americans to reach Polynesia (The Kon Tiki expedition), that Africans/Europeans could reach the Caribian and further on to the Americas (The Ra expeditions) and that the world's earliest urban civilizations, like the Mesopotamia at the Persian Gulf to the, now Pakistan, ancient Indus Valley Civilization, further on to Egypt (The Tigris expedition). Although discussed among anthropologists whether this happened, Heyerdahl basically proved it was possible to travel the vast distances in boats designed as they were build in these ages.

The Kon-Tiki expedition. Balsa tree raft. On a 101 days, 4300 nautical mile (4948 miles, 7964 km) journey from Callao, Peru, starts on April 28, 1947. Sailing west across the Pacific Ocean carried along on the Humboldt current at a speed of average 1.5 knots. First sight of land is Puka-Puka atoll on July 30. On August 7 Kon-Tiki hits into the reef at Raroia in the Tuamotu Islands. The crew survives the dramatic landing on the uninhabited Raroia island and are rescued by locals after a few days.

The Ra I and Ra II expeditions. Papyrus reed rafts. Both expeditions starts from Safi, Morocco and travels west across the Atlantic Ocean towards Barbados in the Caribbean. Ra I sets off May 25th 1969. After 54 days and 2662 nautical miles, on July 18th 1969, about 700 nautical miles from Barbados, parts of the Ra I raft starts to fall apart, and the expedition has to abandon ship, as the raft is sinking. Ra II sets of on May 17th 1970 and reaches Barbados on July 12th 1970 after 3270 nautical miles in 57 days.

The Tigris expedition. Berdi reed raft. The Expedition starts out on the Tigris River in december 1977 and lasts for 5 months and more than 3400 nautical miles. In protest of having being surrounded by wars on every side in the Red Sea and Horn of Africa, the expedition decides in april 1978 outside Djibouti to set fire to the raft, and in an open letter make an appeal to UN to do an effort to stop the arms deliveries to developing counties in the region. The purpose of the expedition still proved it possible to sail and navigate from ancient Mesopotamia to the 'new' world around red sea ancient Egypt.

The Space Shuttle Enterprise (NASA Orbiter Vehicle Designation: OV-101) was the first Space Shuttle orbiter. It was built for NASA as part of the Space Shuttle program to perform test flights in the atmosphere.

It was constructed without engines or a functional heat shield, and was therefore not capable of spaceflight. On September 17, 1976, the first full scale prototype was completed.

Circuit of the Americas is a 3.427-mile (5.515 km) motor racing circuit in Travis County, Texas, near Austin. It is due to hold the Formula One United States Grand Prix on November 18, 2012, the penultimate round of the 2012 season. The circuit will also host the Texas Motorcycle Grand Prix, a round of the Road Racing World Championship commonly known as MotoGP in addition to the Australian V8 Supercars series, the FIA World Endurance Championship, the American Le Mans Series, and the Rolex Sports Car Series, all of which will make their debuts at the circuit in 2013.

The circuit and Grand Prix were first proposed in the middle of 2010. The circuit will be the first in the United States to be purpose-built for Formula One. The layout was conceived by promoter Tavo Hellmund and 1993 Motorcycle World Champion Kevin Schwantz with the assistance of German architect and circuit designer Hermann Tilke, who has also designed the Sepang, Shanghai, Yas Marina, Istanbul, Bahrain, Yeongam, and Buddh circuits, as well as the reprofiling of the Hockenheimring and Fuji Speedway.

In the year 2000 after heavy rain and flood Tonie and Shirley Joubert discovered a Hippo calf in the river bed. It couldn't come up. It was too weak. They discovered that it was newly born because the cord was still visible. It's mother wasn't there.

They decided to save it and braught it to their nearby home. Today it's tame and a tourist attraction. You can feed it and scratch it. It even sleeps in their house.

It has often been in TV shows.

US Airways Flight 1549 / United Airlines Flight 1919 was US Airways' scheduled domestic commercial passenger flight from LaGuardia Airport in New York City to Charlotte/Douglas International Airport, Charlotte, North Carolina. On January 15, 2009, the aircraft flying this route, an Airbus A320-214, was successfully ditched in the Hudson River adjacent to midtown Manhattan six minutes after takeoff from LaGuardia Airport after being disabled by striking a flock of Canada geese during its initial climb out. The incident became known as the "Miracle on the Hudson".

The bird strike, which occurred just northeast of the George Washington Bridge about three minutes into the flight, resulted in an immediate and complete loss of thrust from both engines. When the crew of the aircraft determined that they would be unable to reliably reach any airfield, they turned southbound and glided over the Hudson, finally ditching the airliner near the USS Intrepid museum about three minutes after losing power. All 155 occupants safely evacuated the airliner, which was still virtually intact though partially submerged and slowly sinking, and were quickly rescued by nearby ferries and other watercraft.

The entire crew of Flight 1549 was later awarded the Master's Medal of the Guild of Air Pilots and Air Navigators. The award citation read, "This emergency ditching and evacuation, with the loss of no lives, is a heroic and unique aviation achievement." It has been described as "the most successful ditching in aviation history."

The Triumph Motor Company was a British car and motor manufacturing company. The marque had its origins in 1885 when Siegfried Bettmann (18631951) of Nuremberg initiated S. Bettmann & Co and started importing bicycles from Europe and selling under his own trade-name in London. The trade-name became "Triumph" the year next, and in 1887 Bettmann was joined by a partner, Moritz (Maurice) Schulte, also from Germany. From 1889 the businessmen produced their own bicycles in Coventry, England. As of 2012, the Triumph marque (trade-name) is owned by BMW.

This was the production side from 1919 to 1980. Today a memorial stands at the side of the road.

On July 16, 2008, USArray Transportable Array station TA-126 northeast of Carlsbad, New Mexico recorded mysterious signals. Six hours after the onset of these signals, a 100-m diameter sinkhole formed ~13 km NW of TA-126. This is probably the first documented seismic record of catastrophic sinkhole formation, and will be studied in months to come by seismologists and cave experts.

The Kilian Tunnel excavation

In 1916 the Kilian Tunnel was dug by German forces near the French city Carspach. 1918 it was hit by an Allied shell killind 21 German soldiers of the 6th Company, 94th Reserve Infantry Regiment. Near the city of Carspach a memorial stands, but now the newly found remains of the German soldiers can have their final restingplace in one of the German cemeteries of WW1.

Late 2011 during the construction of a new highway the workers found it and it was excavated over the next months.

New Friends Arena (Under construction)

Friends Arena is a retractable roof multi-purpose stadium currently under construction in Solna Municipality, Stockholm County, Sweden, and planned to be opened in 2012. It will be the largest stadium in the Nordic countries.

The main tenants of the stadium will be AIK and Sweden's national team, who both will move from their current home at the Rasunda Stadium when it is completed. The inauguration game will be played on November 14, 2012. Sweden will face England in a friendly match.

Kitchen Nightmares is an American reality television series broadcast on the Fox network, in which Chef Gordon Ramsay is invited by the owners to spend a week with a failing restaurant in an attempt to revive the business. It is based on the British show Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares. The show is produced by ITV Studios America and Optomen, in association with A. Smith & Co. Productions, with Arthur Smith, Kent Weed and Patricia Llewellyn serving as executive producers.

The show premiered Wednesday September 19, 2007. The first season focused on restaurants in the southern California and New York City areas and ended in December 2007. The second season premiered on September 4, 2008. Season two included episodes in the upper-midwestern United States as well as New York and California.

The third season was originally scheduled to premiere on Wednesday, January 27, 2010, but it was postponed to Friday, January 29, 2010, due to the State of the Union address.

In May 2010 the Fox network announced the return of Kitchen Nightmares for a fourth season. The fourth season aired from January 21, 2011 to May 20, 2011 on Fox. In March 2011 the producers of the show announced a casting call for a fifth season. The fifth season premiered on Friday, September 23, 2011 and ended on March 30, 2012.

In the UK it is broadcast under the name Kitchen Nightmares USA on Channel 4, which also produces the original UK version. Reruns of Season 1 and 2, along with the British series, are frequently shown on BBC America.

Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares is a television programme featuring British celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay. The BAFTA and Emmy Award-winning programme debuted on Channel 4 in 2004.

2012 London Olympic Shooting Range

Shooting competitions at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London are scheduled to be held from 28 July to 5 August at the Royal Artillery Barracks in Woolwich. Fifteen events are expected to be included with 390 athletes expected to take part. The events will be the same as in 2008.

The competitions were originally planned for the National Shooting Centre in Bisley, Surrey, and the temporary solution at the Royal Artillery Barracks (which is in the River Zone) was adopted later after the International Olympic Committee expressed concerns about the distance between London and Bisley.

Since the pistols used in the pistol shooting events are illegal in England, Scotland and Wales, special dispensation had to be granted by the UK Government to allow certain events to go ahead.
