Housewives, Retiree's, Mom and Pop's who've never made a dime on the Internet have created full time incomes by simply placing AdSense Ads on their web site or blog.

Then you have the "Super AdSense" earners. We have all heard of them... the Elite few who are on track to make half a million dollars a year or more promoting AdSense sites.

Do not be mistaken though... these people are not building like your Mom and Pop's do. They have systems in place that create sites for them... people who build sites for them... they have outsourced and automated many of the tedious tasks such as posting to blogs and searching for keywords.

While most people cannot emulate everything these Super AdSense earners do... many of them you can.

Here are 7 Required Steps you can implement today to copy their success.

1) Starting today... treat your AdSense business like it is a REAL business and track what you do.

Begin tracking what you are doing that works... as well as what you are doing that does not work. This will keep you from making the same mistakes over and over, and you can repeat the steps that have worked in the past. As simple as this step seems... most people do not know the reason(s) to their success or failure.

2) Utilize the latest tools and software available.

The Super AdSense earners are not any smarter than your average person. I know many people think they are... but for the most part, they are regular non techie people.

They are smarter in one respect though... they use the latest tools available to them to automate most of the tasks involved with researching and creating sites. They use the latest keyword, site creation and search engine optimization tools available. The tools they use are their secret weapons.

3) Quit chasing the Mega Dollar keywords.

You cannot compete with the search engine experts who create sites for the $80 payout keywords. You may get lucky every now and then... but in the long run, you are better off building sites for the low to mid range payout keywords. The competition is less, and your chance of success is much higher over the long term.

4) Choose broad niches and break it down.

Choose a broad subject as your main theme (lets use computers for an example). From there... break it down into as many sub niches as possible.

Using Computers as the example... you could build sub niches/sites like laptop computers, computer hard drives, computer keyboards, etc, etc. You could literally build hundreds of sites around one major theme and stay totally focused. Once you have exhausted every possible sub niche of that major theme... choose another main theme and repeat the process.

5) KISS

Keep your sites easy to navigate and forget the fancy graphics that distract your visitors attention. Unless you are just building AdSense sites for the fun of it and to impress your friends... the purpose of having the site is to have people click on one of the ads, right? Then keep the site layout simple... dump the scrolling banners, dancing chickens and colored scroll bars... they are distractions.

6) What is the purpose of your web site?

Your web site cannot be everything to everybody. If you have a full fledged ecommerce site, with products for sale... links to other products, it is not a good site for AdSense. If the primary focus of the site is to sell products... let it do that.

Do not distract or confuse your visitor with to many options or choices. The best AdSense sites are AdSense only content sites that sell nothing. They are sites that "Tell"... not "Sell."

7) Be consistent.

This is not one of those deals where you build one site and you are done. Refer back to Step #4. You must continuously build in order to be successful.

Think of it as planting a crop that you will harvest in a month or two, and the sites you build are seeds. Once the seeds have grown and matured... you will reap the harvest. The more seeds you plant... the larger the harvest.

To sum it up... utilize the tools available to automate as much of the process of building sites - doing research and building keyword lists as you can. This alone will help keep you organized and on track. Be consistent in building... treat it like the business it is and you will reap the rewards of your harvest.

Adsense secrets

To make a consistent income with Adsense, you need to put your nose to the grindstone. You need to work for it!

Here are some secrets to get you started earning a solid income quickly with Adsense:

1. Strike while the iron is hot. Find out the hot trends in the media (which celebrity is in the news today? Which new revolutionary product is hitting the market this week? Which game console is getting publicity this week?) and create blogs all about those hot topics. Optimize your blogs for the search engines and post them up at bookmarking sites like Digg and Stumble Upon. You'll create fast cash because you catering to the current demand when the searches for those keywords are hot!

2. Build sites based on the top paying keywords. Go to TopPayingKeywords.com and you'll find a goldmine of all these keywords which pay by the bucket load for every click your ad receives!

3. Place as many ads in as many areas as possible. Use a setup like this: a banner at the top, a skyscraper banner at the side, and ad banners in between paragraphs of your content. This setup is guaranteed to get you the maximum number of click throughs.

How to make money with adsense

Actually there are a lot of increasingly creative ways to make money and maximize on Adsense earnings that are being discovered and also being put to use every day. And what’s even more fascinating is the fact that most of these tools being used don’t cost anything. They are actually free. Here are 7 of the most effective currently being used.

a) Ways to make money from Adsense by Distributing articles through ezine and article announcement lists
Some of the most effective methods ways to make money from Adsense clicks involve the simple step of just increasing the volume of targeted traffic to a site. One of the ways of doing this is by distributing interesting content to ezine lists and article announcement lists. It is not too difficult to quickly build a list that reaches a million or so email boxes and can thus give a lot of visibility and drive tons of highly targetd traffic to your Adsense site or sites. Probably the most popular place for doing this is at Yahoo groups, but there are a few others that you can find easily by using your favorite search engine.

Success here depends on three main factors. Firstly you should be careful to join article announcement lists and ezine lists that are as relevant as possible to your subject matter and offering. Secondly your headline has to be a killer headline that will grab readers by the scruffs of their necks and force them to open your email message amongst the dozens or even hundreds of others they receive daily. It goes without saying that the content must meet the promise of your sensational headline. Anything less will cause annoyance and leave all those potential visitors to your Adsense site feeling cheated. And believe me, you don’t want to cause this sort of reaction because it is definitely not one of the ways o make money from Adsense or any other program for that matter. Thirdly, you will need the sort of resource box in all your articles that will leave most of your readers with no option but to visit your Adsense site.

Within a very short of consistently applying this technique, my daily Adsense earnings increased seven-fold.

b) Ways to make money from Adsense by Distributing free articles to high traffic article sites Some people find the recent trends that have seen an increase in article sites surprising. I don’t. The net is primarily an information-seeking tool. Anything that will help improve the search and quality of information will greatly benefit the people making that effort.

Some of the older article directories receive very high traffic, mainly from web masters and site owners seeking quality free content for their sites. So apart from the immediate exposure these sites also guarantee plenty of future targeted traffic to your site, when folks find your articles useful enough to re-post at their sites.

The more new articles you release to these sites every week, the more targeted traffic your Adsense sites will receive. This is in fact one of the most effective ways of making money consistently from Adsense clicks. One of the reasons for this is that targeted traffic will tend to spend more time at your site or sites, and the more time they spend, the higher the chances that they will click one one of the Adsense ads posted there.

c) Ways to make money from Adsense by Using Articles And A Viral Marketing Website
Any online marketing technique that involves the use of referral marketing or viral marketing automatically has a huge chance of being a success. The net is ideal for viral marketing and in fact gives any viral marketer huge leverage. Viral marketing or referral marketing is one of the most effective ways to make money online. Just ask Bill Gates.

When Gates was trying to play catch up on the Internet after an earlier mistake of underestimating the future importance of the net, he launched his Hotmail free email service when rivals like Yahoo already had millions of users. He decided to use a simple referral marketing technique. Every Hotmail message that went out had a brief signature at the end requesting the recipient to sign up for their free Hotmail account. Within a few short months, Hotmail had millions of users. And there are many other amazing stories which viral marketing boasts of on the net.

There is one of the very simple ways to make money from Adsense by going viral. Sign up at a leading viral marketing site. You will automatically get your own viral site. You can then use some of your articles to point people to your viral site. The way these sites work is that anybody who signs up at your site will have to visit your Adsense site if you register it at the site. So within a very short time you will be driving thousands of visitors to your Adsense site.
Find more details on this at my blog whose address you'll find in the resource box below.
Admittedly this traffic is less targeted. Still the huge potential and possible numbers you are able to receive using this free tool more than makes up for this.

d) Ways to make money from Adsense With Your Email signature
People greatly underestimate the power and potential effectiveness of a simple email signature as one of the ways to make money online. Actually this is a viral marketing method because emails get forwarded all the time and are even copied to several other people sometimes.
Do not waste another minute. Go to all your email accounts right now and create a signature that points to your Adsense site or sites.

Writing effective email signatures is a skill that you will have to develop, but I have found that using famous quotes is more effective than a straight advertising message. Always remember that people hate to be advertised to online.

e) Ways to make money from Adsense By Asking Questions At Discussion groups
I recently had an interesting conversation with a young Internet and computer techie. He asked me whether there were quick ways to make money online by answering technical questions and helping people to solve their computer and web-related problems. My answer was that there were many discussion groups where participants would get these answers for free. I advised him that he had a better chance of making money by making use of this free advice available online rather than by trying to sell his own advice.

There are tons of online discussion groups where leading world experts will answer your questions and give you valuable insight for free. It is amazing why most people do not think of using these online forums to learn as much as they can about the most effective ways of making money from Adsense.

These forums can easily be found through you favorite search engine.
f) Ways to make money from Adsense By Bartering your online skills for valuable Adsense keywords
In the old days, before the invention of money, if somebody needed something, the first question they asked themselves was; “What is it that I already have that I can exchange for what I need? Barter trade seems to have been forgotten but it is a very powerful method of trading. More so online where people have plenty of skills but are slow to trust others enough to send them money for an item they need.

You can barter whatever it is you have, your skills, products or services, and exchange them for genuine valuable Adsense keywords. Valuable Adsense keywords are the most effective way for a small site with low traffic to earn big cash from Adsense. And you can do this barter trade on an ongoing basis so that you always have a constant supply of valuable Adsense keywords which you can use at your site or blog as one of the ways to make more money from Adsense.
g) Ways to make money from Adsense By Sending Teaser Emails

To Everybody In Your Inbox And Also To Your Opt-in Email List Most of us receive tons of email in our inbox every day. You’ll be surprised at the huge number of people you know by simply going through your email inbox. No matter how good your spam filters are, you are also bound to be receiving more than your fare share of SPAM or unsolicited email. All this is “gold” lying in your email inbox and there are ways to make money using these emails. All you need to do to process the emails into pure gold is to send out “teaser emails about the most interesting aspects of content at your site. The whole objective of teaser emails is to get people to visit your site. For instance if I were to send out teaser email on this content here is how I would construct it

Google goes after plaxo and bebo

After the Microsoft offer for yahoo .....Google want a struggling search engine and technology company with an over-sized price tag, where it can snap up a few social media for a low sum amount.Industry speculation has Google circling social media companies Bebo and Plaxo. This is fast, easy, and free. Simply go to each website and register for an account. (There are links in the Resources section below.) Listing tools on eBay will put them in front of 86 million visitors to the site. There is no where else that can offer you this amount of potential customers. PayPal is the most popular payment method accepted on eBay. They make payments fast and secure using either a credit/debit card, or your bank account. Once you have sold an item you can simply transfer the money from PayPal straight into your bank account.

Step 2

Do your research.

Do research on the tools that you will be selling. Since you will be selling these tools on eBay, it would be nice to know what they have been selling for recently. This will give you a better idea of what to list the tools for in order to be competitive, or to beat your competitors prices. Fortunately eBay makes this process very simple. Simply go to eBay.com, and next to the search box at the top of the page is a link for "Advanced Search". Click this link. In the box where it says, "Enter keyword or item number", type in the tool that you want to research. Below this box you will see an option for show completed listings only. Click this check box, and then click search. Now you will see a list of the items that match your search, their selling price, and whether or not they sold. Prices of items that sold are in green and bold, those that did not sell are red (including reserve not met auctions). If you see an item that sold for a higher amount than the same item, take note of the title of the listing. Perhaps the seller used better keywords, or described the item more clearly. It might be a good idea to list your item with the same, or similar title. It is worth it to note however, that you should not copy the description in the listing. This is against eBay's policies, and can get you banned from the site.

Step 3

Craftsman Tools

Find tools to sell. This is easy enough to do. Some of the best selling tools on eBay are Craftsman, Snap On, and Matco. The best way to purchase Crafstman tools to resell is to buy them in bulk. Sears sells Craftsman tools in sets, which lowers the price per tool compared to buying all of the tools individually. For example, you can purchase the Craftsman 239 piece mechanics tool set for $199.99. This translates to the price of each tool being roughly $0.84! If purchased seperately, the 1/2 inch drive ratchet alone costs $22.99. By purchasing it as a part of the set, you are saving $22.15 on this ratchet alone. You could list it on eBay for $12.00 and make a nice profit, while giving your buyers a great deal. You get $11.16 over your cost, and the buyer is saving $10.99 over going to Sears to buy the same ratchet.

Step 4

Snap-On

Find a Matco Tools or Snap On dealer, or buy them through the websites. The best way to find a Snap On or Matco Tools franchisee is to visit a local shop near your home. You can ask a mechanic or the service writer who their Snap On and Matco Tools franchisees are. Most will be more than willing to provide you with their information, and what day they visit that shop. Give them a call, and ask them what time they will arrive at your local auto repair shop, and meet up with them. Don't feel like you are being a nuisance to them. They make their living selling tools, and you are a potential customer. This is a revolving account that works much like a credit card. They will have to check your credit to start an account for you. Your spending limit will be based on your credit history. The better your credit, the higher your spending limit will be. The benefit to having an account with them is that you can purchase much more for a low weekly payment. For example, my bill with Matco Tools is around $8,200 right now. I pay $58.00 per week on this account. Without having an account with them I would most likely have to pay about half of that up front, and then pay over $100 per week on the balance. As you can see, having an account with them will allow you to purchase a lot more tools up front, and then pay them off over time. Note that with an account they do have a minimum purchase amount, usually around $300. This is due to the fact that they are using credit from your spending limit each time you make another purchase. It is not worth it for them to add to your credit account for you to make a $25 purchase.

Step 6

List your tools on eBay. Write a descriptive title with keywords that buyers would use when searching for your item. Be sure to include the brand name of the tool and exactly what it is. For example, "New Matco Tools 3/8" Drive Air Ratchet". This tells your buyers exactly what you are selling, and has keywords that they will be searching for such as, "Matco, Matco Tools, and Air Ratchet". You can list them with a starting bid of $0.99 and watch the bids start flying in, or list them with a set Buy It Now price. I would recommend listing with a starting bid of $0.99 as this attracts the most amount of people, and often results in a higher selling price. Use every part of e-bay to get the advantage of the dollars you are spending to list your product.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

         computer

         cash to buy your product

         register on e-bay

Step 1

Pick a subject. Do you want to put any and everything on your e-bay site to sell? Or do you want to focus on specific type merchandise?

Either way, make it say so in your listing. A prospective customer may see one item in your auction, and only think that you do not carry other items. Always mention this fact in your descriptions, so that the person will know you do carry a variety.

Step 2

USE EVERY CONTACT YOU HAVE EVER MADE, IN SELLING, OR EVEN LISTING AN ITEM THAT DID NOT SELL.

These are contact points. TAKE ADVANTAGE of every person that contacts you about a question. This could be another chance to make a sale, at another point and time.

For example, after many art sales to a customer, my creations changed and I tried another form of abstracts. Some customers followed the new work, but others, did not.

So, I decided to contact older customers, to see if they were still interested in my first style of art work. Many still were interested and I was able to do more commissioned work. ALSO, do not be afraid to ask customers, if they need a style for an up comming gift or presentation that they may need.

COMMISSION WORK: ASK A CUSTOMER WHAT HE NEEDS. Many customers may not know that you will do commissioned work. For example, I do abstract art. The customer may need certain colors, rather than what I have shown on e-bay.

PAYMENT IS EASY ON PAYPAL. YOU CAN ACCEPT A PAYMENT FROM ANYONE, OR ANYTHING. SIMPLY INVOICE YOUR SALE TO THEIR E-MAIL ADDRESS. I ALWAYS
INVOICE AT LEAST 50% OF THE PRICE BEFORE I START. IF A SMALL AMOUNT I WILL INVOICE THE WHOLE AMOUNT AND THEN START PICTURE.

Step 3

USE ALL THE SOURCES AVALIABLE FROM E-BAY. ONE OF THEM IS THEIR ABOUNT "ABOUT ME" PAGES.

Fill it out for your site and list everthing about you that might entice a buyer to do more business with you than just one item.

My site-showplace2 on e-bay gives a variety of information, to get the buyer to e-mail me with questions. These may or not be directed to item for sale, but to some other no related items.

PICK UP A BUYER ANYWAY AND ANY WHERE YOU CAN. MAKE IT EASY FOR THE PROSPECTIVE TO GET TO YOU!

How to Choose the Best Key Words to Use on eBay Listings

If you have an eBay store, then you have access to eBay Traffic Reports. One part of these reports shows you where your traffic is coming from, and what key words are being used in searches that hit your listings.

There are also several other websites that can give you valuable information about what is selling on eBay.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

         eBay Account

         Internet Connection

         Time

Step 1

Learn how to access your eBay Store Traffic reports. Follow these steps:

Step 2

Log on to your eBay Store homepage.

Step 3

At the bottom of the page on the right side, click "Seller Manage Store."

Step 4

On the left hand column, almost near the bottom, you will see a section called REPORTS. Click on "Traffic Reports."

Step 5

You will need to sign in with your eBay user name and password to access the Omniture Service. (Omniture is a web analytics tool that works in conjunction with eBay.)

Step 6

One logged in to Omniture, on the left side, click "Finding Methods" and then "Keywords."

Step 7

You will be able to see any searches on the internet (Google, Yahoo, other search engines) that resulted in a hit on one of your items. You can also look under "Finding Methods" under "Referring Domains" to see where your traffic is being referred from.

With this information, you can make educated decisions about what key words people are using to search for items that you are selling. You may want to alter or add key words to match what is being used on search engines to get more hits on your listings.

Step 8

Another way to research key words is to study completed listings. (See my article on How to Price an Item to Sell on eBay for the exact steps.) Study the completed listings that have sold and determine if those listings include words you are not using. For example, if you are selling diet products, you may want to include words like "weight loss, slimming, lose weight." Your title does not need to be a coherent sentence, but it should contain as many relevant key words as possible.

Step 9

On eBay, there is a page called Popular Key Words. This page contains a weekly look at the most popular and active key words on eBay. Access this page at keyword-index.ebay.com/keyword-index.html.

Step 10

eBay also offers a page that breaks down popular key words by category. This is going to be more helpful to find specific key words for very specific items. Access this page at category-keyword.ebay.com/default-category.html.

Step 11

Terapeak is a website that offers eBay research. You can use Terapeak to analyze what products are selling, their selling price, and what key words are being used in the listings. You want to choose articles that both are interesting to you to write about as well as have a high potential to make money. Learn how to maximize your articles by choosing keywords that have high pay per click rates

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

         internet

         thesaurus

Step 1

First you want to choose a topic for your article. Many writers promoting keywords say to look at keyword lists to find topics to write about, however you will probably end up writing about things you are not interested in or do not have real knowledge of. Therefore, I think you first want to think about the topic and then maximize that topic rather then choosing topics solely based on the keyword.

Step 2

Now that you have chosen your topic, you want to determine the key word of the topic. For example, if you wanted to write about how to quit smoking, smoking would be the keyword. From there, you want to generate a list of synonyms or other ways to say the same thing. You can also use a keyword tool to help you come up with other ways to say your topic.

Step 3

Go to a page that allows you to analyze keywords. Google has a free tool that is part of Adwords (the link is in resources). Go the the keyword tool and enter your topic. A list will be generated of potential keywords and their search volume.

Step 4

At the top of this list there will be a drop down menu that says "Choose Columns to Display." You want use that to add the Estimated Cost Per Click CPC" column. This will show you how much an advertise has to pay for those keywords. The higher the amount the more the advertisement is worth and the more money you will make when someone clicks on the ad.

Step 5

Analyze the list to find a balance of a high paying keyword and a high search volume. It is important to balance both because you want to choose topics that a lot of people look for to make sure you have traffic.

Step 6

Go back to the list you made in step 2 and try some of the other words you came up with. Choose the one that has the highest potential for earning money and generating traffic.

How to Find High Paying Keywords For Your Articles

Keywords are what search engines use to deliver search results to its surfers. With this list as a starting point and using this article as a guide, you can begin to discover high CPC (cost per click) keywords on your own and start to improve your online earning potential.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

         Google Adwords Keyword Tool

         List of valuable keywords

         Time and imagination

Step 1

Open up the Google Adwords Keyword Tool. There are lots of articles on the precise technical steps for using the tool on eHow and other sites so I will not go into that aspect. Make sure that you have the box checked for synonyms and that you show the column for estimated average CPC. You should also click on the column to arrange the CPC from highest to lowest.

Step 2

Begin by typing in one of the words from your list of high paying CPC words. Let's use "mesothelioma" to start. You can see that this is a high CPC keyword. From here you can type in one of the synonyms such as "asbestos" which is found at the bottom under "additional keywords to consider". You can continue stringing together many words in this fashion.

Step 3

Notice that many of the words related to mesothelioma are lawsuit related. Lawyers are willing to pay quite a bit for an ad click if that click leads to a client with a multi-million dollar lawsuit. Think of other legal terms that lawyers might be willing to pay for. Pay attention to the news for products that are the subject of litigation.

Step 4

Think of other products or services that cost a lot of money or lead to long term clients for advertisers. Think about why someone might want to search the internet in order to make some sort of purchase. Type terms related to these areas in the Google Adwords Keyword Tool. It won't take long for you to get an idea of what general categories are valuable to advertisers and be able to narrow in on specific terms.

Step 5

Finally, see what others are writing on the web and enter their contents URL in the search box. The Keyword Tool will search their content and find keywords related to the content on the page. This can give you additional ideas for finding keywords that pay well and ideas for articles as well. If others are taking the time to write on a topic, it might be because that topic pays well unless they are writing solely for enjoyment. At least it can help give you ideas if you get stuck.

How to Find the Highest Paying CPC Keywords in Your Niche

Finding the highest paying CPC (cost per click) keywords can help you earn the most from your Google Adsense ads. Cyberwire has recently compiled a list of the top 230 highest paying Google AdSense terms. It appears that the highest paying terms are all centered around hiring a lawyer, refinancing your home, mortgages, and loans. These are the top 5 terms on their list:

$54.33 mesothelioma lawyers
$47.79 what is mesothelioma
$47.72 peritoneal mesothelioma
$47.25 consolidate loans
$47.16 refinancing mortgage

As you can see the top 3 terms all contain the keyword mesothelioma, personally I’ve never understood why ads on the malignant tumor pays so well. Surely high-powered tech companies would pay much more for exposure to their site than ‘mesothelioma lawyers’? I also find the CPC (cost per click) value of those terms very doubtful. The idea that anyone would pay almost $50 just for someone to click and visit their site seems extremely unlikely to me.

The people at Cyberwire claims to have used this tool to search for the current CPC for keywords. What really caught my attention was the way the profit-minded peeps at cyberwire link all of the terms on the list to news search results… along with some adsense ads on the page :P. I’d say that’s a pretty cunning ploy to get people to click on your ads that also happen to be related to the highest paying keywords.

Mesothelioma Specialists

Mesothelioma Specialists

Choosing a doctor that is right for you can make all the difference in your treatment experience. Your doctor or oncologist will provide you with information on the treatments that are available to you.

It is also important to know about your legal rights. If you have mesothelioma, or any other asbestos-related disease, you were most likely exposed to asbestos. Many of the manufacturers of asbestos insulation products knew for decades that asbestos was hazardous, yet made a business decision not to warn people of those hazards. As a result, you may have a right of recovery against those manufacturers, which can help defray the costs of treatment and provide compensation for your pain and suffering.

Mesothelioma Specialists

Mesothelioma Specialists

Choosing a doctor that is right for you can make all the difference in your treatment experience. Many Webmasters earn their primary source of income over the Internet through Google’s Adsense. Although it is possible to earn several hundreds to thousands of dollars in a month, many struggle to make even a meager sum of amount.

If you have a better understanding about the Adsense program, you can make a good living through it. You can also maximize your site’s earning by integrating other sources of revenue like the Affiliate programs. But you need to understand that according to the Adsense’s policy, you can’t display advertisements that are similar to the one provided by them (Adsense).

Content really matters

As widely said “Content is the King”, applies to Adsense as well. Adsense is such a program which displays relevant advertisements that are based on your keywords. For instance if your site is related to “Stock Markets”, the advertisements served would be related to Stock Markets. When you write content targeting Adsense, make sure the usage of words are related to the topic. Sometimes it is weird to note that one single word in your article (content) can influence the ad-serving technology which may be totally irrelevant to your site’s theme. In such cases you need to identify the specific word and try to replace it.

High paying Keywords

You may find information floating over the Internet related to high paying Adsense keywords. These are set of keywords which offer high rate of earnings per click. The competition is very high for such keywords and it may be difficult to rank well in Search Engines. Moreover such keywords may not offer the same amount of cost per click for all. The cost per click depends on various factors which include the location of the visitor or the person who clicks the ad, specific ad, keyword competition at that particular period of time etc. It is better to use Adsense on sites that you have already created rather than creating sites just for the sake of earning through Adsense.

Optimizing your Ads

Once you got enough earnings through the Adsense program, it is the time to increase your revenue which could be done by optimizing your Advertisements. This is really based on case to case basis. Some ad formats may work well for others but not for your site. It is a good news for a newbie to know that Adsense program offers different format of ads. You can create the ad format/ type based on your preference from your Adsense account. The program offers textual ads, banner ads and video ads. To cut down the list further, it also offers horizontal, vertical or search box ads.

Policy Compliance

As an Adsense publisher, you need to comply with the Terms and Conditions of the program set from time to time. A complete reference can be found at Adsense.com. Non-compliance to the policy may lead to banning of your Account. Some of the important terms are mentioned hereunder:

a) You should not ask the visitor to click on the ads

b) You should not display ads on copyright materials, on which you don’t have the permission.

c) Adsense ad cannot be used on Racial, gambling or pornographic content

d) You need to display a privacy policy in your website as per the program’s requirement.

Free Website Promotion

Free Website Promotion…Why Not?

Can you ever avail of free website promotion? The exam can help tell if you have fluid in the chest, abdomen, or heart area. This fluid can be a sign of mesothelioma. Then one or more of the methods below can be utilize to determine out if you actually have cancer.

Imaging tests allow the doctor to see a picture of the area in question. These could include x-rays, CT scans (computed tomography), MRI (magnetic resonance imaging), or PET scans.

Fluid or tissue samples may be taken (from the chest, stomach, or heart area) with a needle and sent to the lab to see if cancer cells are present.

Other methods involve making a small cut (incision) in the chest or stomach area and then using a small tube with a video camera to allow the doctor to look directly at the area in question.

In another approach, the doctor can insert a lighted tube through the mouth and into the chest. This is called a bronchoscopy (bron-KOS-kuh-pee). If the tube is placed under the chest bone and then moved down into the chest, it is called a mediastinoscopy (media-stine-AHS-kuh-pee).

Surgery allows the doctor to remove a larger sample of tumor or, sometimes, the whole tumor.

It is often hard to identify mesothelioma by looking only at the cells from the fluid around the lungs, stomach, or heart. So your doctor may want to do other tests as well. Sometimes an electron microscope is used to look at cells in greater detail.

Mesothelioma Information Resource providing information on asbestos

Mesothelioma Information Resource providing information on asbestos related injuries and treatments to patients, families and loved ones.

It is the aim of MIRG to provide information about mesothelioma, its causes, its treatment and its personal and legal impact.

Mesothelioma, an agressive form of lung cancer resulting from exposure to asbestos consists of two general types, pleural mesothelioma and peritoneal mesothelioma.

Mesothelioma is closely linked to exposure to asbestos. Sometimes, treatment options are combined.

Mesothelioma Treatments

Mesothelioma Treatments

Mesothelioma is a very serious disease and patients and their families should have the support and resources they need to better deal with their diagnosis. The following information should aid patients diagnosed with mesothelioma in determining the best course of treatment:

Traditional Treatments

Surgery

A mesothelioma treatment used either to remove the tumor or to alleviate pain and suffering. If the cancer is relatively contained, surgery can be used to remove part of the lining of the chest or abdomen. The objective is to remove the cancer cells from the body by removing the tissues with large numbers of cancer cells. If the cancer has spread to several organs, it is impossible to remove all of the tissue infected with cancer. In this case, surgery can only be used to relieve pain and suffering. Types of surgeries incude:

Pneumonectomy - An aggressive surgery in which a lung is removed. It can be performed in two ways:

Traditional Pneumonectomy - Only the disease lung is removed.

Extrapleural Pneumonectomy - When the diseased lung, along with part of the pericardium, part of the diaphragm and the parietal pleura on the same side of the chest is removed.

Palliative Procedures - The goal of these procedures is not to cure the disease, but rather to relieve and/or control symptoms associated with mesothelioma:

Thoracentesis - A procedure where a needle is inserted into the chest cavity either to obtain a diagnosis or to drain the fluid to relieve breathlessness and pain.

Pleurectomy/Decortication - The surgical removal of the pleura which is performed to reduce pain caused by tumor mass or to prevent the recurrence of pleural effusion.

Chemotherapy

This treatment consists of using drugs to treat the cancer. The drugs can be swallowed in pill form or can be injected by a needle into a vein or muscle. Most of the drugs used in the treatment of lung cancer either directly kill cancer cells or stop them from dividing into new cells. The drug enters the bloodstream and circulates throughout the body to reach and destroy the cancer cells. Chemotherapy targets the entire body and can kill normal cells as well as the diseased cells, causing severe side effects.

Chemotherapy can be used in combination with a variety of drugs to increase the total effect and is often used in combination with other treatments, especially surgery.

Side effects can be wide ranged and include nausea and vomiting, loss of appetite, loss of hair, fatigue, constipation, coughing, decreased appetite and mouth sores. These side effects can be treated and they will usually cease after the treatment has ended.

Radiation

Radiation therapy is the use of high level radiation to kill cancer cells in a localized area. The radiation injures the cancer cells so they cannot divide or multiply further. With each treatment, more of the cells die and the tumor shrinks. The dead cells are broken down and excreted by the body. Most of the healthy cells are able to recover from this injury, but the damage to them is the cause for the side effects of radiation therapy.

Radiation may be used before surgery to shrink the tumor, after surgery to prevent the cancer from coming back, to prevent the growth of cancer, to treat symptoms, and also in combination with chemotherapy. Radiation therapy is sometimes used as the main treatment of Mesothelioma, especially patients whose general health is too poor to undergo surgery.

Side effects of radiation can be severe. They can include: fatigue, hair loss, skin irritation, nausea, and difficulty breathing.

The process of contacting your doctor in the off office hours needs to be simple and accessible. It should include coverage by a competent oncologist at all times, who can speak with you directly about your medical problem. Most office practices have a doctor on call to take calls from patients 24 hours/day.

Experimental Mesothelioma Treatments

Gene therapy

An experimental medical intervention that involves altering the patient’s genetic material of living cells to fight or prevent disease. The therapy involves injecting a modified gene directly into a patient’s chest cavity. The goal of gene therapy is to supply cells with healthy copies of missing or altered genes. Many different strategies are currently under study.

Immunotherapy

An experimental therapy that uses the body’s natural defenses to fight cancer. This can include stimulating your own immune system to work harder, or using an outside source, such as man-made immune system proteins. Immunotherapy is usually used in conjunction with another type of therapy.

Photodynamic Therapy

An experimental treatment which combines a photosensitizing agent (a drug activated by light) with a light source to destroy cancer cells. The theory is that the photosensitizing agent collects more readily in cancer cells than in normal cells. Thus, when the agent is subsequently exposed to light, it reacts with oxygen to create chemicals that can kill the cancer cells.

MESOTHELIOMA TREATMENT OPTIONS

The treatment program for mesothelioma depends on many factors, including: the stage of the cancer, where the cancer is, how far the cancer has spread, how the cancer cells look under the microscope and the patient’s age and desires.

TIME MATTERS

People diagnosed with this disease are often told the expected survival rate is only eight to twelve months. However, specialists in treating malignant mesothelioma at the leading cancer centers often have better statistics.

For instance, the five-year survival rate has approached 40% for selected patients of Dr. David Sugarbaker at Brigham and Women’s Center in Boston. To qualify for Dr. Sugarbaker’s treatment you must meet certain criteria. One of them is being in the early stages of the disease, so time is of the essence. A specific protein, or biomarker, called Soluble Mesothelin-Related Peptide (SMRP), may be released into the blood by mesothelioma cancer cells. By measuring the amount of SMRP in a blood sample, doctors may be able to better monitor a patient's progress. Based on the limited amount of data currently available, use of this test may be beneficial, but effectiveness has not been determined at this time. The MESOMARK blood test has NOT yet been approved for the early diagnosis of mesothelioma.

This test has been approved as a Humanitarian Use Device (HUD), meaning that physicians must follow certain procedures to qualify their patients for testing. Once the physician is certified, informational brochures will be sent to be distributed to each applicable patient.

Those wishing to take part in

MESOMARK testing will be asked to provide one or more samples of blood. The blood samples will then be sent to a national reference laboratory for testing. In conjunction with other clinical and laboratory data obtained by your doctor, decisions regarding your treatment and care may be simplified. You may discontinue testing at any time.

The costs associated with the MESOMARK blood test may not be covered under health insurance, therefore, you may be required to pay all or part of the costs out of pocket. It is recommended that you check with your insurance carrier to determine whether coverage is available under your policy.

SURGERY

Diagnostic Procedures

As previously mentioned in the "Symptoms" section of this website, a diagnosis of mesothelioma from fluid is many times inconclusive. Given this fact, diagnostic surgery becomes a necessary next step in confirming and staging mesothelioma.

Thoracoscopy enables a physician to evaluate the pleural cavity and to conduct multiple tissue biopsies under direct vision. In up to 98% of cases, a definitive diagnosis can be obtained. Often, chemical pleurodesis aimed at relieving the accumulation of fluid in the intrapleural space, can be accomplished during the same procedure. It is also possible to gauge the extent of the tumor, and make a determination of surgical resectability. While less invasive than an open biopsy, it can only be performed on patients where tumor has not obliterated the pleural space.

VATS, or video-assisted thoracic surgery is an alternative to thoracoscopy, although because of its more invasive nature, concerns of tumor seeding increase. By utilizing small incisions, the physician can view the pleural space with the assistance of a camera, and obtain sufficient tissue samples for analysis by a pathologist. Extent of the tumor (i.e., pleural involvement, chest wall invasion) may also determined, and recommendation as to the type of debulking procedure necessary can be made at this time.

Mediastinoscopy is sometimes used as an aid in staging extent of disease when enlarged nodes are seen using imaging techniques.

Laproscopy is used in mesothelioma patients in cases where imaging techniques suggest possible invasion of the tumor through the diaphragm. This information can be important in evaluating a patient for potential pleurectomy or extrapleural pneumonectomy.

Palliative Procedures

Palliative surgical procedures are those which treat a symptom of mesothelioma, without aggressively treating the disease itself.

Chest Tube Drainage and Pleurodesis is considered the most common of palliative treatments. Fluid build-up, or pleural effusion, is most often the first symptom which will prompt mesothelioma patients to seek medical attention. Once this effusion has occurred, it is many times persistent, returning rapidly after initial thoracentesis (draining of the fluid). In order to eliminate this problem, the pleural space must be closed. This is accomplished by use of a talc slurry or other sclerosing agent which produces an adhesion.

Thoracoscopy and Pleurodesis is done in conjunction with VATS using a powdered form of talc versus talc slurry. Both this and chest tube drainage and pleurodesis will be only effective if there is no tumor encasing the lung which restricts its expansion.

Pleuroperitoneal Shunt plays a limited role in palliation for several reasons. It involves placement of a catheter run under the skin from the pleural to the peritoneal cavity. Obstruction of the catheter and possible seeding of the tumor into the abdominal cavity may be concerns.

Pleurectomy, used as a palliative procedure, may be performed where more extensive surgery is not an option. In these cases, it is understood that all visible or gross tumor will not be removed. It is considered the most effective means of controlling pleural effusion in cases where the lung's expansion is restricted by disease.

Potentially Curative Procedures

These procedures are performed with "curative intent". Their goal is removal of all gross disease, with the knowledge that microscopic disease will most likely remain. Adjuvant therapy (another form of treatment in addition to the primary therapy) is typically aimed at eliminating residual disease.

For Pleural Mesothelioma:

Pleurectomy/Decortication is usually performed on patients with early stage disease (Stage I and selected Stage II), and attempts to remove all gross tumor. If it is found that all tumor can not be removed without removing the lung, this may be done at the same time and is called pneumonectomy.

Extrapleural Pneumonectomy is considerably more radical than other surgical approaches, and should be carried out by surgeons with great expertise in evaluating patients and performing the procedure itself. (See Finding Specialists.) Because in the past surgery alone has failed to effect a cure, or even to help prolong life for any extended period of time, it is currently being combined with traditional chemotherapy and/or radiation, or other new approaches such as gene therapy, immunotherapy or photodynamic therapy.

General Patient Selection Criteria for Extrapleural Pneumonectomy

Extrapleural pneumonectomy is a serious operation, and doctors experienced in this procedure choose their patients carefully. It is up to each individual surgeon to advise the patient on its feasibility and to conduct whatever tests he/she feel are necessary to optimize the patient's chances for survival and recovery. Following is a general list of patient selection criteria. This list may not be all inclusive, and may vary according to the preference of the surgeon.

Karnofsky Performance Status score of >70. This score relates to what symptoms of disease the patient may be experiencing and how well they are able to conduct their daily activities. Some surgeons may require a higher performance status than others.

Adequate renal (kidney) and liver function tests; no significant kidney or liver disease.

Normal cardiac function per electrocardiogram and echocardiography.

Adequate pulmonary function to tolerate the surgery.

Disease limited to the ipsilateral hemithorax (the same side of the chest in which the mesothelioma is located) with no penetration of the diaphragm, extension to the heart or extensive involvement of the chest wall.

Age of the patient is taken into consideration, but may not be as important as their overall status.

Surgeries of this nature should always be done with a complete understanding of the possible benefits and risks involved. If you are considering surgery as a treatment option, speak openly with your doctor about your concerns, and be sure all of your questions are answered to your satisfaction.

For Peritoneal Mesothelioma:

Cytoreductive Surgery is aimed at removing all or nearly all of the gross or visible tumor in the peritoneal cavity. In order to treat any remaining cancer cells, Intra-Peritoneal Hyperthermic (heated) Chemotherapy (IPHC) is then delivered to the abdominal cavity. The type of chemotherapy drug used may vary according to the physician’s preference. When cancer occurs, abnormal cells continue to divide uncontrolled. Anticancer, or chemotherapy drugs, work to destroy cancer cells by preventing them from multiplying. Read more on types of chemotherapy medicines.

Purposes of Chemotherapy

Chemotherapy may be used to achieve different goals, depending on the stage of the cancer at the time of diagnosis and the age and health of the patient. Since chemotherapy for mesothelioma is not considered "curative", the goal is:

To control the cancer by stopping its spread or slowing its growth.

To shrink tumors prior to other treatments, such as surgery. This is called neoadjuvant chemotherapy.

To destroy microscopic disease which may remain after surgery. This is called adjuvant chemotherapy.

To relieve symptoms, such as pain. This is called palliative chemotherapy, and is given in cases when a drastic reduction in the tumor is not expected.

The most common use for chemotherapy in mesothelioma patients, is as an option for those who are not surgical candidates, however, various cancer centers are now conducting trials using the neoadjuvant approach. Alimta (pemetrexed) is a drug approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for use with Cisplatin in the treatment of patients with malignant pleural mesothelioma whose disease is either unresectable or who are not candidates for curative surgery. Alimta is the first drug approval specific to mesothelioma.

The Alimta/Cisplatin chemotherapy regimen is the first Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved treatment specifically for malignant pleural mesothelioma. This is currently considered the most effective first-line treatment for mesothelioma patients who are not surgical candidates. A multi-targeted antifolate drug, Alimta works by blocking the enzymes necessary for DNA copying and cell division. During the clinical trial process, Alimta/Cisplatin improved median survival for pleural mesothelioma patients by approximately three months over treatment with Cisplatin as a single agent. Eli Lilly's information on treatment with Alimta.

As with any medical treatment, it is important to discuss the use of Alimta with your doctor. This conversation should include all pertinent information regarding effectiveness, administration and possible side effects of the drug combination. It is also important to begin vitamin supplementation of B12 by injection during the week prior to treatment (to be repeated every 9 weeks), and folic acid by mouth daily (to be continued until 21 days after the last cycle of Alimta). Additionally, you will be given an oral steroid medication to minimize the risk of skin rash or other possible side effects. Your doctor will have information on the correct dosages of each medication. Be sure to tell your doctor of any other medications you are taking (including non-prescription drugs) so he may be aware of any adverse interactions.

Alimta/Cisplatin is administered to patients on an outpatient basis every 21 days. This cycle of treatment involves a 10-minute IV infusion of Alimta followed by a 2 hour infusion of Cisplatin. How many cycles of treatment you receive will be dependent on your response rate to the drug (regression of the tumor or halt to progression of the disease) and the side effects you might experience.

Side effects of Alimta/Cisplatin are mild to moderate for most mesothelioma patients, i.e., nausea, vomiting and fatigue, and can usually be managed by your doctor. For some patients, however, side effects may be debilitating, and may require a decrease in dosage or removal from the program. All potential side effects should be mentioned to your doctor. Never assume any complaint is minor.

Administration of Chemotherapy

The most common way to administer chemotherapy is intravenously, or through a vein. A thin needle is inserted into a vein in the hand or in the lower arm. Intravenous administration of drugs allows for rapid entry into the blood stream. Drugs may also be delivered via catheters and/or ports.

Catheters are soft, thin, flexible tubes placed into a large vein in the body. They remain in place for as long as they are needed.

The catheter may sometimes be attached to a port, a small round plastic or metal disc placed under the skin on the chest. Ports also remain in place for as long as necessary.

Intraperitoneal chemotherapy may also be delivered through a catheter or a port. The catheter is inserted through the abdominal wall. Chemotherapy drugs can then be infused directly into the abdominal cavity. Ports may also be placed under the skin of the abdominal wall and the catheter tunneled between the skin and muscle into the peritoneum.

Side Effects of Chemotherapy

Cancer cells grow and divide more rapidly than normal cells, but some normal cells also multiply quickly, particularly those in the digestive tract, reproduction system, and hair follicles. It is the damage done to normal cells that causes side effects. The type of side effects you might experience and how severe they are, depend on the type of chemotherapy you are receiving, the dosage given and how your own body reacts. Before beginning any chemotherapy treatment, you will be asked to sign a consent form. Before signing the form, be sure your doctor informs you of all the facts regarding the treatment he/she will be administering, including information about the particular drug or combination of drugs to be used, the possible risks or side effects (including nausea and vomiting and peripheral neuropathy), the number of treatments you will receive and how often, and whether it will be given during a hospital stay or on an outpatient basis. The doctor may also consider whether the goal of the chemotherapy is to control the growth of the cancer, or to ease symptoms associated with the disease.

In general, chemotherapy treatment is administered in "cycles" — a "cycle" being defined as a period of treatment followed by a period of rest. This cycle allows the cancer cells to be attacked by the drugs, and then allows the body's normal cells time to recover. The combination of drugs used, the length of time to administer the drugs, how often they should be repeated and the number of cycles recommended have been analyzed throughly in clinical trials. For mesothelioma patients, the "standard" treatment is a combination of Alimta and cisplatin, administered IV, with a 10 minute infusion of Alimta followed by two hours of cisplatin, given in 21 day cycles. Modifications to this schedule may be made according to what your doctor feels is appropriate in your particular case.

The number of treatment cycles, or the length of time between the beginning and end of chemotherapy may vary, however in general, 3 to 4 cycles of treatment are given before response is evaluated; 2 to 3 cycles are considered a minimum to assess for effectiveness. After response to the treatment has been determined, the following criteria will be used to decide whether chemotherapy should continue:

If there is shrinkage of the tumor, or the disease is kept stable, chemotherapy may be continued for as long as it can be tolerated and there is no disease progression.

If there is continued disease progression, chemotherapy will be stopped, and the patient will be given alternative options.

The goal of setting a chemotherapy schedule is to make treatment as effective, timely and trouble-free as possible, but while the drugs are working to kill cancer cells, they may also affect healthy cells causing side effects. One of the most common side effects, and one your doctor will monitor carefully, is a chemotherapy-induced low white blood cell count (neutropenia) which means your immune system is weakened, therefore leaving you more prone to infection. While this side effect is anticipated when someone is undergoing chemotherapy, it can cause delays in your treatment schedule, or changes in the dosage of the drugs you will receive. Click here for more on understanding your blood counts.

TOP

Note to Patients:

Chemotherapy treatment should be a cooperative effort between you and your doctor. The interaction that takes place is important to your health. It will not only help you feel better, but will also address any potential problems with miscommunication.

It is necessary for your doctor to be aware of any side effects which may result from your chemotherapy treatment.
These may include:

Fever of, or greater than 101 degrees

Nausea or vomiting

Diarrhea or constipation

Fatigue

Tingling or numbness in the fingers or toes

Ringing in the ears

Bruises or rashes

Sores in the mouth or throat

Taking other medication of any kind can alter the effects of chemotherapy or cause undesirable interactions.
Be sure you report all over-the-counter and prescribed medicines to your doctor. Don’t take aspirin unless it has been approved by your doctor. Ask your pharmacist if aspirin is contained in any drugs you plan to purchase.

Take extra care with your daily health.
Try to maintain a stable weight by eating a healthy diet and drinking plenty of fluids. If your stomach is upset, ask your doctor for helpful hints or work with a nutritionist who can tailor a program to your needs. Brush your teeth after every meal, or if you can’t brush, rinse your mouth thoroughly with water.
Stay away from people who have colds or the flu. Chemotherapy can compromise your immune system and lower your resistance to germs. Make sure you keep appointments for blood work – these tests help your doctor monitor your health.

Be open about your feelings regarding your treatment.
It is normal to feel sad, angry or afraid, however, letting these emotions get out of control can be detrimental to your overall well-being. Seek out the help of family, friends, your doctor, a counselor or a support group.

RADIATION THERAPY

Radiation therapy, also called radiotherapy, treats cancer by using penetrating beams of high energy or streams of particles called radiation. In treating mesothelioma, radiation may be used aggressively in combination with surgery, or palliatively to control symptoms.

In an aggressive combined modality approach, radiation is used to attack microscopic or residual disease remaining in the chest cavity after extrapleural pnuemonectomy. An example of this is Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT), which uses x-rays of varying intensities in conjunction with computer generated images to deliver targeted radiation directly to cancer cells while reducing the amount of radiation to surrounding healthy tissue. More on Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT).

Used palliatively, radiation can help control metastases (spread) of the tumor along tracks left by invasive procedures such as thoracoscopy, needle biopsy and chest tube drainage, or to control disease symptoms, such as pain or shortness of breath.

An exciting new development in radiation oncology is tomotherapy.
