We were asked to produce 4 little promo videos for the new iPhone game Foam Fighters – made by the toy company Wow Wee. I co-wrote these pieces with my friend Nick White based off ideas from Wow Wee. We decided to shoot them all in super slow motion and we ended up hiring the RED Epic – which shoots at 240fps.

Law Firm Portraits

Was asked to shoot some basic portraits for a local law firms website today. Shot them all on my Lumix GH2 using light coming in from a window and a reflector. I also hung a cheap piece of material on the wall to make the white walls nice and dark.

Have been working away on a new project: an automated photobooth. We had our first run of it last Saturday and it was a success but will be tweaking the booth some more.

DIY Photobooth

Spent a few days this week putting together a photobooth for a friends wedding. Was a fun project. Had to hack my timelapse cable for the Lumix GH2 and run it into an arcade red button. Now pushing the button starts a 3 seconds countdown and fires a shot – which is automatically displayed on the LCD below the camera. Nice.

The New Zealand Collection – Magazine

Recently I’ve been looking at digital magazines for tablets and have been quite disappointed. They are mostly just the print version scaled down. So I wanted to have a go at creating a really simple New Zealand photography magazine specifically for digital delivery. The idea was to make it as a free PDF – PDF’s are versatile and most devices can handle them. No need for tricky apps. Check out the link to the magazine below…
