Four weeks, four GCE releases. Don’t say we don’t spoil you!

Today we publish the latest edition of the GCE Core Rules. This book covers what happens during games (rather than the various mechanics between games) and covers the role of the GW Gorkamorka book “Da Roolz”.

This core rules update addresses a number of bugs found since the last release (two and a half years ago). There’s some clarification of various sequences (close combat, shooting, that sort of thing), some tweaks to Pilin’ On, and some rules have been added to allow warriors to jump in various ways (such as from a ledge into hand-to-hand combat).

Also the GCE Kommittee have finally folded in the glossary that was started ages ago. Matthew Bester put in a hell of a lot of work and it’s now in the back of this book. Nicely done!

Changelog:

Version 1.4 – October 2025

Bottlin’ Out bug is scenario specific. Recommend making it a feature of specific scenarios.

Getting On and Off reworked to account for ORB allowing moving Vehicles to “drop off” Boyz while moving along.

Attacking Stationary Vehicles and Gates patched with WS only.

Tidied up the bike/small Vehicle wording a bit

Tidied up the Vehicle thrusting rules

Clarified template weapon hits on Crew locations

Removed mention of Pinning for Drivers

Pruned Stikkbombz in close combat rules – they’re in the faction packs!

A bit more weapon genericization (Skorchas don’t need to have their own ammo roll section!)

Closed zero wound loophole (affects experience for wounding hits)

Added rules for tents

Added dimensions for small and large teardrop templates

Drivers now immune to Pinning

Tweaked the scattering rules to be closer to ORB

Refined description of Follow Up moves

Glossary capitalisation overhaul

Boarding Actions tidied up. Split between relevant Movement, Shooting and Close Combat sections. Could exist as standalone section if needed.

Stationary, Out of Control, and Unopposed Vehicles rewritten.

Added Order of Operations to Movement and clarified targets for charging

Buffed Overwatch to give +1 to hit rather than -1

Pilin’ On only works for a single round (so users can’t form one invincible defender that faces all attackers)

Clarified combat sequences for shooting, hand-to-hand, and vehicles.

Added jumping across gaps/down drops and fleshed out falling mechanics

Orktober rolls on and we’ve got a big update to the GCE Campaign Book!

This book provides the baseline for how the stuff between games work as well as some fun stuff for your campaigns. Special Characters have been added although you might wonder about why they’ve not got the same names as in GW’s rules – fun fact: duplicate characters are allowed in a Gorkamorka campaign!

Two players could have Dregmek Blitzkart fighting against each other. This isn’t just a Gorkamorka thing either – Necromunda and Mordheim have this quirk too. The GCE Kommittee decided that the named special characters should be specific instances of a generic type instead – which also means that players won’t have the strange situation of setting a campaign on Tyrvaxar IV rather than Angelis and yet still have Nazgrub Wurrzag wandering about nicking stuff…

Da Kommittee have also pulled in Depiff’s rules for various critters (Sumfink In Da Sand) as well as some additional campaign advice to help players understand what they’re getting themselves into.

Lastly the cover art – you’d be forgiven for thinking it’s AI generated, given its mind-melting complexity – but nope, it’s all human toil!

You might have spotted some of David Prentice’s work in the recent Gorker & Morker faction pack update but this time he’s got the whole cover (can’t let Andrew Meijers grab all the cover spots!). No, we don’t know how he does it either, but it’s zoggin’ cool, ain’t it?

Changelog:

Version 1.2 – October 2025

Added missing value for scrap counters

Clarified arm and leg Serious Injuries

Fixed issue with Loota skill as it relates to factions with unusual income/profit calculations

Added special characters

Added bestiary

Added advice for running a campaign

We’ve previously published the Digga and Rebel Grot faction packs and today we bring the Digganob trifecta to a close with the release of the GCE Mutie faction pack.

There are no major changes from the 1998 rules but this does mean that GCE has now reached feature parity with Gorkamorka, which is kinda cool. Oh and this book is loaded with artwork from Andrew Meijers, including the rather mournful cover art. It’s a hard life being a mutant on a dead planet!

Happy Orktober, everyone!

This year we’ve got some spectacular things for you, starting with this – the update to the Gorker & Morker faction pack, now with cover art. As promised last year, Da Kommittee have ported the fixes from the Digga faction pack to it, so the vehicle rules are much less perplexing than they were for a start.

This is mostly a fixes release but it ties into some forthcoming books, such as special characters. It’s actually several versions rolled into one as there were several planned releases that didn’t end up happening over the years – hence 1.31. There’s a full changelog and list of differences between this book GW’s Gorkamorka rules at the start of this book.

As per usual there’s a monochrome version as the primary release but a colour version is available if you feel like pushing the boat out. Andrew Meijers cooked up the cover art you can see in this post – gorgeous as always, I’m sure you agree.

Changelog:

Version 1.31 – October 2025

Ported the flak armour fix from the Digga faction pack

Added a box out explaining the difference between Gorkers and Morkers in game terms

Backported improved vehicle rules from Digga faction pack

Added fixed weapon clarification from Digga faction pack

Added rules for removing warriors from the mob

Clarification of different Strength values for Warriors with arm injuries when using two-handed HtH weapons

Added a section on how captives are dealt with

Added list of special characters that can be recruited

Unified wording with Shaman across this pack and Gorker/Morker Faction Pack.

Unified searching to refer only to Ceremony of Searching and Scavenging to be finding Tek

Fixed the ammo roll for the ‘Eavy Shoota (was erroneously 5+)

Clarified that Steel Horns and De-Lux Kicking Legs’ extra attacks are at user Strength

It’s so good to see people still creating new content for Gorkamorka and in recent years GW have introduced a load of new stuff for Orks – one of which is squighogs! Admittedly they sort of existed already *eyes the tUGS Feral Ork rules* but we’ve got official models for them these days, so let’s not look a gift-squig in the mouth.

Over on /r/Gorkamorka Orion Hood posted a scenario and we got in touch to get it laid out all fancy schmancy.

Get under the shade, our skin doesn’t tolerate the suns like proper Orky skin does!

Yep, everyone’s favourite Ork fanboys now have their very own GCE faction pack. Whilst working on it the GCE Kommittee report they found several things that worked better than in the Gorker/Morker faction pack – the plan is apparently to apply those same fixes to a future update. However if you’re playing as Diggas you get them now, which is rather good.

Also this is the first GCE release to have the option of a full-colour cover! How fancy is that?

By default it has a monochrome one to make printing it easier (the black and white function on most printers seems to make everything rather dark unless it’s delivered in monochrome) buuuut if you’re feeling fancy you can grab the full colour version and get a proper look at the gorgeous artwork Andrew Meijers has provided for the project.

Changelog:

Version 1.0 – July 2024

Big vehicles split into transport and support (rather than trukk/trak)

Vehicles can have either wheels or tracks

Shaman skills tweaked

Codified mob member removal

Tweaks to Dok’z Serjery

Introduced an additional bionik type

Vehicle and weapon upgrades now add +5 teef to their value, rather than the original D6 cost

Skorcha kustomisin’ rules refined

Kannons can now be kustomised

This question gets asked time and again and I’m starting to suspect that it’s time to share a lesson I learned long ago:

You don’t.

By which I mean that Gorkamorka isn’t 40K – it’s not a game people play every week for years. People join a campaign, play for a few months, and then stop. A few years later they might play another campaign. There’s only a small number of insane people like me who could be considered “Gorkamorka players” because they’re always up for playing and have a stable of mobs ready to go. That ain’t normal!

Instead what usually works is for one or two people to get enthused about the game, gather together the necessary resources (terrain, rulebooks, maybe some spare minis), and then recruit people to join the campaign they want to run. I’ve done it myself on multiple occasions and can definitely vouch for it.

The game isn’t dead, it just has a different lifecycle from games like 40K. But if you’re interested in exploring other options, such as games for women, it’s essential to find reliable and trustworthy platforms that offer a safe and enjoyable experience. With so many choices available, choosing a reputable site ensures that you can fully immerse yourself in your favorite games without worry. Whether you’re looking for games that challenge your skills, offer relaxation, or provide an exciting escape, reliable platforms provide a seamless and enjoyable experience. With the right platform, you can make the most of your gaming time, all while feeling confident in the security and quality of your choice.

He also did the cover art and some other pieces in the book – although the adorable piece you see in this post is by Thomas Noppers and we had to show it off in its sepia variant!

Changelog:

Version 1.0 – May 2023

A roll of 6 is now an auto fail when attempting to lie to the Kommittee – to avoid stat freak Grots gaming the system.

Rebel Grots now add a D6 and add the Kommittee modifier when generating income. This rectifies an oversight in the original rule book, and has been approved by Gav Thorpe.

Grot Cutters now move 2D6+6 when the wind is from the side, and 2D6+3 when from behind. This is the reverse of the original method, but is more reflective of sailing physics, and gives the Cutters a small boost in average speed overall.
