Christian publication Crosswalk has waded into the recent backlash to Alistar Begg recommending some people attend same-sex weddings, releasing several articles on why Christians should attend gay weddings and should probably attend and participate in baby showers for same-sex couples.

Crosswalk is a Christian website owned and operated by Salem Web Network, a division of Salem Media Group, that owns a large swatch of prominent Christian and conservative publications, including CCM Magazine, BibleStudyTools.com, Christianity.com Crosswalk, Godtube, Hot Air, Jesus.org, Lightsource.com, Townhall, Christian Headlines,, PJ Media, and many other apps, podcasts, and radio stations.

In the article Can Christians Attend a Same-Sex Couple’s Baby Shower? author Amanda Idleman suggests they can and should. She begins by revealing that “As same-sex marriage has become more prolific and socially acceptable, there is a growing number of same-sex parents. Personally, I’ve interacted with same-sex foster parents who also attend the same church as I do.”

We know that God’s Word clearly states that God’s best for marriage and family is for one man and woman to come together. Yet, hard black-and-white lines don’t work when talking about people you love.

..It’s our job to be Jesus to our lost friends. To encourage those who know God but continue to struggle with sin. We need to remain faithful to the standards God gives us for living in the Bible. We must also ask God to help show us how to love well.”

One of the ways to “love well” includes the prospect of attending a baby shower hosted by a same-sex couple, which really is a celebration of that baby into a life of abuse, robbed of a father and mother.

A baby shower is different from a wedding in that every child is a gift from God. This sort of celebration is designed to joyfully support the arrival of a new person whom God has a special plan for. While we may understand that same-sex relationships are not God’s best, we are called to nurture and love every child. Even if we do not feel called to participate in the baby shower, we should find a way to love this family and their child. “

Another article gives no such out: Should You Attend a Gay Wedding? by Dr. James Emery White. White summarizes Begg’s advice to attend a gay wedding and even buy the couple a gift, and then lends his support to this position, encouraging him not to back down.

Despite the fallout, Begg stands by the advice he gave. He should.

This is not about a theological “drift.” Neither I nor Begg affirm a homosexual lifestyle. But does that mean it is never appropriate for a Christ follower to attend a gay wedding?

Let’s break that down a little—first by addressing whether it is okay to participate in one, and then second, whether it is okay to attend one. I would argue that participation and attendance are distinct from one another.

Participating in a gay wedding means lending support, helping to facilitate it, enabling it to happen. It’s being involved in such a way as to bring it about. Biblically, that isn’t something a Christian can do.

He explains:

https://protestia.com/2024/02/09/major-christian-publication-argues-christians-should-attend-gay-weddings-gay-baby-showers/

Daniel Whyte III, President of Gospel Light Society International, says 3 more things regarding the Alistair Begg tragedy: (1.) It is Whyte’s opinion that Alistair Begg is not concerned about the thousands of dollars he is losing for this wicked foolishness and betrayal of God, Jesus Christ, and the Word of God because it is Whyte’s opinion Begg has been paid handsomely with Judas’ 30 pieces of silver. In fact, Begg could be a hired gun for the Bishop of Canterbury and the Pope and the sodomy/homosexual-leaning Anglican Church and Catholic Church. (2.) Knowing how pastors love to bounce things off of fellow pastors, Whyte believes many pastors knew Alistair Begg was leaning that way. (3.) If you rebuked Andy Stanley publicly and straightforwardly, you must rebuke your boy, Alistair Begg, publicly and straightforwardly. Pastors, you cannot be a respecter of persons and hypocrites. Whyte says he has enjoyed Alistair Begg’s preaching for many years and loved him as a brother, but Begg is not only wrong, he is dangerous.

It is just a celebration of perversion, and it’s just a celebration of two people promising each other that they will never repent of the sin that will send them to hell.” Dan Phillips

Days after being dropped by American Family Radio and agreeing with John MacArthur to bow out of the Shepherds conference, another prominent Christian ministry quietly parted ways with pastor Alistair Begg following his trash advice to a grandmother to attend an LGBTQ wedding.

RefNet (Reformation Network) is the 24-hour Christian internet radio outreach of Ligonier Ministries, playing content that is “committed to the historic Christian faith and edifying for the whole family.”

The few broadcast partners it has have been thoroughly vetted and “echo the great historical truths that have been well-framed by the creedal consensus coming out of the Reformation.” These include John MacArthur, Harry Reeder, Martyn Lloyd Jones, Ligon Duncan, Steve Lawson, Charles Spurgeon’s messages, and up until this last week, Alistair Begg’s Truth for Life.

Truth for Life was one of the longest-running programs, going back at least a decade. However, it has been quietly pulled from the lineup, with no announcement about its culling being made. The two images below are just weeks apart.

Given that Begg’s show plays on 1800 radio stations and he has recently doubled down on his defense of attending a LGBTQ wedding with emotional argumentation, insults, deflection and Joel-Osteen-level exegesis of the text, they likely won’t be the last.

Source: Protestia https://protestia.com/2024/02/02/another-prominent-christian-ministry-quietly-parts-ways-with-alistair-begg/

Alistair Begg Dropped From Shepherds Conference + “An Unnecessary Distraction”

Alistair Begg will no longer be speaking at the upcoming 2024 Shepherds Conference, according to a spokesperson for Grace To You to RNS, following the fallout and controversy of his recent remarks advising a grandmother to attend an LGBTQ wedding and then a much-panned follow-up message justifying his reasons.

“After Begg’s comments became public, he and MacArthur talked and decided the controversy would be “an unnecessary distraction,” according to a spokesman for Grace to You, one of the conference sponsors.

It Is Later Than You Think. (GLMX #485)

This is the “chief of sinners,” Daniel Whyte III, president of Gospel Light Society International, with the Gospel Light Minute X Podcast #485 titled, “Enjoy Yourself. It Is Later Than You Think” I’m here to remind you of what the Bible says, that “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners” like you and me.

This saying, found on a carved sign on display in a beautiful garden, is ascribed to the famous poet and author Robert W. Service.

ENJOY YOURSELF. IT IS LATER THAN YOU THINK.

Is it really later than we think? Time does rush by so quickly, and before we know it, it seems that our life has flown by, and we must now consider what we want to do before it is over. What should be the result of being awakened by this truth? Should it be merely to fully enjoy every moment of the rest of our life?

If you ask several different people how they find enjoyment and happiness, you will probably get several different answers. There are some who find joy in doing good, in seeking the welfare of others. There are some who want to laugh and to make others laugh. Some turn to sports, movies, the arts, and other recreation to find their enjoyment. Still others seem to find their only enjoyment in doing wickedly, enjoying the pleasures of immorality or violence.

Now which of these do you think are the better citizens? I have no doubt your answer will be, “Those who find joy in doing good, in seeking the welfare of others.” You will probably consider the other groups as harmless except for the last group, and over these you might shake your head and wonder what can be done about all this corruption and violence!

But which group do you suppose God looks upon with approval and says, “These are Mine”? You may be surprised at this, but God does not approve of any of them as such, for “All have sinned, and come short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). We all need the divine righteousness that comes only by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. By nature man leaves God out of his thoughts, and by practice he lives to please himself. However, in patience and faithfulness God warns us in many ways that it is later than we think, and would convince us that true enjoyment is found only in His Son the Lord Jesus Christ.

Worldly joy fades into insignificance when compared to the joy found in Him which is truly satisfying and abiding for time and eternity. Faith in Christ as personal Saviour imparts to the soul what Peter speaks of in 1 Peter 1:8, when he writes: “Whom having not seen, ye love; in Whom, though now ye see Him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory”. The Psalmist David joyfully anticipates the future with the Lord in these words: “Thou wilt show me the path of life: in Thy presence is fulness of joy; at Thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore” (Psalm 16:11).

Many have been stopped in their whirl of activity when faced with the saying: “It is later than you think!” to determinately turn aside and seek some long desired enjoyment before it is too late. Their decision is wisely made as far as it goes. However, to ignore the true and eternal joys of spiritual value is absolute folly. The Lord Jesus asks in Mark 8:36: “What shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?”.

“It is later than you think!” Every second you spend without Christ is depriving you of true joy and peace even now. Should death overtake you, your portion will be eternal torment.

“It is later than you think!” The Lord’s coming is at hand, and salvation’s day of grace will suddenly end. God will then no longer offer His gift of eternal life to you.

“Enjoy yourself” both now and in eternity by believing on the Lord Jesus who died and rose again for you, and thus possess the joy of sins forgiven and peace with God through the blood of His cross.

Jesus says to you in John 10:10; 15:11: “I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly…. These things have I spoken unto you, that My joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.”.

If you do not know the Lord Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour in the free pardon of your sins. Allow me to show you how you can place your faith and trust in Jesus Christ for your souls salvation from the power of sin and from the punishment of sin in that awful place called Hell. Please pray with me what is called the sinner’s prayer: Holy Father God, I acknowledge that I am a sinner and I admit that I have sinned against You and that I have broken Your Ten Commandments. I have lied before. I have stolen things before. I have lusted after people and things before. I have dishonored and disobeyed my parents. I have taken Your holy Name in vain. For Jesus Christ’s sake, please have mercy and grace upon my soul and forgive me of all of my sins, my failures, and my faults. As I now believe in Your Holy Son the Lord Jesus Christ. I believe that He suffered, bled, and died on the cross for my sins, was buried and rose again. Lord Jesus, please come into my heart and save my soul and change my life. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit and help me to repent of my sins past. Help me to turn from my old, evil life and follow You in the new life. For it is in Your Name I pray. Amen.

How to be Calm in the Catastrophe (GLMX #483)

This is the “chief of sinners,” Daniel Whyte III, president of Gospel Light Society International, with the Gospel Light Minute X Podcast #483 titled, “Calm in Catastrophe” I’m here to remind you of what the Bible says, that “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners” like you and me.

Life seems to be full of catastrophes, both big and small. A catastrophe may be personal due to trials at home, work, or school, or it could be much larger due to economic or political problems, or even natural disasters like a hurricane, earthquake, flooding, fire, etc. A catastrophe is often outside of our control, yet its effects are life-changing. These events produce an internal and external panic, which cause confusion and fear.

In the midst of one of life’s catastrophes, it is important to find a place of security and comfort–a place of calm. The disciples of Jesus Christ found themselves in just such a catastrophe in Matthew chapter fourteen. They had helped Jesus feed over 5000 people with only five loaves and two fishes, and then Jesus sent them to cross the Sea of Galilee in a boat. While they crossed the sea, a great storm rose up, and “the ship was now in the midst of the sea, tossed with waves: for the wind was contrary” (Matthew 14:24). The disciples were facing a catastrophe, and they feared for their lives. But in the midst of the storm “Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea” (Matthew 14:25). Jesus did not want His disciples to be alone during their time of trial, just as He does not want you to think that you are alone now in your time of trial. The Bible says in Matthew 14:27, “But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid”.

Jesus Christ, God in the flesh, was more powerful than the wind, rain, and water. He came to His disciples in the midst of the storm, walking on the water, and He encouraged them to trust Him by saying, “Be of good cheer; be not afraid.” The disciples needed to trust that Jesus was more powerful than the storm and in control of all things, or they would not enjoy the calm that He was offering them. They needed to have faith in Him alone!

Peter responded to Jesus by saying, “Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water” (Matthew 14:28). Peter trusted Jesus, and at Jesus’ command to “Come,” he climbed out of the boat in the midst of the storm, and “he walked on the water, to go to Jesus” (Matthew 14:29). However, like many of us, Peter began to be distracted by his circumstances, the catastrophe around him, and “he was afraid; and beginning to sink” (Matthew 14:30).

When Peter asked Jesus for His help, the Bible says, “immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?” (Matthew 14:31). Just like with Peter, Jesus wants to help you find salvation in your time of need. He does not just offer you security for your current physical needs, but rather He wants to help you to have security for every day of your life, and for all eternity. Jesus has power to protect and provide for you in physical catastrophes, but more importantly, He alone has the power to save you from your spiritual catastrophe of sin (Romans 3:23).

You can enjoy the calm of knowing that you can trust God with each and every event in your life.

The greatest fear in a physical catastrophe is death. The beginning of Romans 6:23 says, “For the wages of sin is death.” The end result of the spiritual catastrophe of sin is spiritual death, and Jesus wants to save you from that catastrophe. The end of Romans 6:23 says, “but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” God the Father, through Jesus Christ, offers you the gift of salvation from eternal death, but you must recognize the danger of your sin, call out to Jesus in faith in the midst of your spiritual catastrophe, and say like Peter, “Lord, save me.” Jesus promises to save those who admit their sinful condition, their need for salvation, and look to Him alone to save them. He says, “Him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out” (John 6:37).

Will you accept the calm that Jesus offers you now in the midst of your current catastrophe? To do so, you must first accept the spiritual calm of having Him as your personal Savior from the catastrophe of your sins. The Bible says in Acts 2:21, “whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved”. By accepting that you are a sinner and calling on Jesus Christ by faith in His death, burial, and resurrection to pay for your sins, God offers you spiritual salvation by giving you eternal life. John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” After you have the security of your spiritual salvation from the penalty of your sin, you can say with the Apostle Paul, “For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 8:38-39). You can enjoy the calm of knowing that you can trust God with each and every event in your life, and “the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:7). It is God alone who can help you through your physical and spiritual circumstances. It is your responsibility to follow His leading by having faith in His salvation through Jesus Christ and trusting His Word to guide you day by day.

THE PROMISES OF PEACE FOR ALL WHO TRUST IN JESUS CHRIST

Jesus Christ says John 14:27, Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

Jesus Christ says John 16:33, These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

Philippians 4:6-9 says, Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.

II Thessalonians 3:16 says, Now the Lord of peace himself give you peace always by all means. The Lord be with you all.

The God of the Bible is a God of love. He does not want you to face any of life’s situations without the knowledge and assurance of His personal love for you. He loves you so much that He does not force you to receive His love, but rather allows you to personally choose to receive it or reject it. The apostle John said I John 4:15-16, “Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God. And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him”.

By believing that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, sent to pay for your sins by God the Father, and trusting Him as your personal Savior, you are accepting God’s love. By rejecting Jesus, you are rejecting God’s love (I John 2:23).

Consider for one moment that just the fact that you have received this message about God’s care for you in this difficult time is proof that He loves you and wants to help you. He has guided other people to give you this message so that you can hear and consider His Word. Please do not turn from God’s love, but rather listen to it and receive it. Receiving God’s love is as simple as accepting Jesus Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection as God’s payment for your sins. The apostle Paul said it this way in Romans 6:23, “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord”.

Jesus said in Matthew 7:7-8, “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened”. Jesus has promised you that if you will seek His help, He will give it.

The Love of God is a Many-Splendored Thing even during the coronavirus plague (GLMX #482)

This is the “chief of sinners,” Daniel Whyte III, president of Gospel Light Society International, with the Gospel Light Minute X Podcast #482 titled, “The Love of God is a Many-Splendored Thing.” I’m here to remind you of what the Bible says, that “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners” like you and me.

John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

THIS IS HOW GOD LOVED THE WORLD…
God does love the world, but have you ever wanted Him to love the world in a different way? Maybe you’d like God to take away all the pain or bring in world peace? How about heal your family member? Or you? Or bring justice against the people that have hurt you? Or to eradicate COVID-19? I would be on board with all of those! But the Bible doesn’t say that God loves the world in these ways. God doesn’t do the things we want Him to do. God does what He wants to do, according to who He is, and in His perfect timing.

When we read about God in the Bible, we discover that He is just. God will judge all sin, and all of us—great or small—will stand before Him. One day, we will enter His courtroom. He will make things right, but all of us are in the wrong. The Bible shows us that all have sinned—we are guilty before Him. But right now He is showing grace to each one of us because we need it!

We may think that God’s love is shown in strange ways. He’s not solving our society’s problems (or even a pandemic) right now because that isn’t our number one problem in His sight. God loved the world—and wants to heal us from sin. But how?

HE GAVE HIS ONE AND ONLY SON…
God the Father and His Son are equal and love each other endlessly. Jesus means everything to God the Father. Everything. And what did God do? He poured out His judgment against sin on Jesus at the cross. God gave up His Son. Why? Because He loves us. The love of God is “giving,” not “taking.” Let that sink in. God gave everything precious to Him, emptying heaven so that you and I would never have to answer for our sin. God the Father gave Jesus up, so that sinners could receive His love! This is amazing!

You might be asking, if God already gave His Son, Jesus, then aren’t we all already going to heaven? Who is this love for?

SO THAT EVERYONE WHO BELIEVES IN HIM…
This is for “whoever believes.” It’s for anyone—no matter where you come from or what you’ve done—but you must believe in Him.

Just like our hands are not clean of germs and viruses without using soap, our souls will never be saved from the just anger of God against sin if we do not trust Jesus Christ.

But why Jesus? Jesus is unique because He is the only one who did not sin. Look at His life—He never did anything wrong. Just like you and I can’t wash our dirty hands with dirt, we can’t “wash” our soul with our own goodness or anyone else’s who is also infected with sin. The cure only comes from one who lived a perfect life—Jesus Christ. We must trust Him.

WILL NOT PERISH…
Why would we perish? It’s because we all have sinned, and if we’re honest, we all know it. We are not perfect. If we claim to be sinless, it’s just like we’re putting on a fake “Zoom suit” (a false velcro shirt that looks like a suit and tie only from the front). We may fool others, but we can’t fool God. God sees the whole picture of our souls—every lie, every jealous or lustful thought, every bitter refusal to forgive those that have hurt us, and so much more. These are the things that bring death. These things that we are so accustomed to in our world are so offensive to a perfect God. He simply cannot ignore them and let us into heaven—it would be like showing up to a wedding in that Zoom suit and sweatpants! We need God to clothe us with righteousness.

BUT HAVE ETERNAL LIFE.
This is good news! We can have confidence that our sins are forgiven through the promise of this beautiful verse. Jesus Himself said these words two thousand years ago. He guarantees that this promise is true. He suffered and died for the world that God so loved. Then He rose again from the dead to prove that the work was finished and accepted by God.

Today, He is waiting with open arms for anyone (yes, anyone!) who will humbly trust Him and only Him for forgiveness of their sins. You don’t need to perish; you can have eternal life. Won’t you trust Him today and have this peace forever?

Amen.

Willing to Die ( Gospel Light Minute X #481)

This is the “chief of sinners,” Daniel Whyte III, president of Gospel Light Society International, with the Gospel Light Minute X Podcast #481 titled, “Willing to Die” I’m here to remind you of what the Bible says, that “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners” like you and me.

We see it in the news all the time: a crowded market, or bus, or restaurant is suddenly rocked by a violent explosion. The police rush to the scene, knowing that among the dead and injured they may find one individual who died by choice. Explosives strapped to his body, this person was willing to die in order to kill as many of his enemies as possible.

A person willing to die so that his enemies will also die is bad news—especially if we happen to be the enemies! But by way of contrast, here is some very good news. There is someone who was willing to die so that you and I could live. Not just live physically, but live life as it really should be lived: with no guilt blocking our relationship with God, and no fear of coming punishment for our sins. This is eternal life, and someone was willing to die so we could have it.
You probably know who that person is. His Name is Jesus, the Son of God from heaven. He was the one person who didn’t have to die: death is the result of sin and He never sinned. He died voluntarily, allowing men to crucify him. While He was on the cross, the Bible says that God was punishing Him for our sins. When the punishment was accomplished, Jesus said, “It is finished!” and willingly died.

You may be wondering why anyone really needed to die for us. It seems pretty drastic, especially if we feel our life is okay as it is. But one thing we learn from the Bible is that God doesn’t look at things the way we do. The Bible states in Romans 3:22-23, “…there is no difference: For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God”. That is a summary of our condition as God sees it. Because of His infinite holiness, our sin and disobedience to Him cannot be overlooked or go unpunished. If our sin is not taken care of, not only is there a barrier between us and God in this life, but also God’s judgment to expect in the next. The purpose of Jesus’ willing death was to pay for our sins, so God could forgive us.

The fact that Jesus died for us is one proof that no one can earn eternal life by their good deeds or religious observances. If we could get to heaven by our efforts or goodness, then He would not have needed to suffer at all. But His death was an absolute necessity, because nothing we do can ever take away the guilt of our sins. Jesus did everything required by God to pay for our sins, and by trusting in Him alone we can receive the free gift of eternal life.

Sadly, some will kill themselves in order to kill others. But God’s good news is that Jesus was willing to suffer and die so He could offer you and me eternal life. Do you have it?

The Bible states in John 3:16, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

The Bible says in Romans 5:12, “Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.”

1 Corinthians 15:3 says, “Christ died for our sins.”

The Bible states in Hebrews 9:27, “It is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.”

Romans 6:23 says, “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

If you do not know the Lord Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour in the free pardon of your sins. Allow me to show you how you can place your faith and trust in Jesus Christ for your souls salvation from the power of sin and from the punishment of sin in that awful place called Hell.
Why we Are Praying for Steph Curry’s Mother or Somebody to Lead the Great Naomi Osaka to the Lord Jesus Christ (GLMX #470)

This is the “chief of sinners,” Daniel Whyte III, president of Gospel Light Society International, with the Gospel Light Minute X Podcast #470 titled, “Why we Are Praying for Steph Curry’s Mother or Somebody to Lead the Great Naomi Osaka to the Lord Jesus Christ.” I’m here to remind you of what the Bible says, that “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners” like you and me.

You may be wondering why certain religious groups insist that you are lost and need to be saved. Saved? saved from what? As far as you are concerned, you don’t feel lost. You feel fine just as you are. So what’s the big fuss? Ok, let’s go over some facts together:

[a] Do you ever feel that in spite of all your achievements and all that you possess, there is still a void and an emptiness gnawing at your insides?

[b] Do you have that uneasy feeling that you’re missing something in life?

[c] Are you desperately searching for new thrills to feel alive and motivated?

[d] Do you need a quick picker-up each day to face life challenges?

[e] Do you quickly dismiss ideas of rejection, loneliness and death because these thoughts really scare you?

If your answer is yes to any of the above, then you are lost. Why? You ask. Isn’t this the way normal people feel? In fact, all your peers confide that they have the same sentiments.

They feel and react the same way and suffer from the same social dissatisfaction. They are no different from you. You see yourself and family having every day problems, but nothing out of the ordinary So what’s the big deal?

Well, let me tell you. The feelings described above are symptoms of a desperate soul living an empty existence and prone to depression or any other terrible emotional conditions. All that is needed is a major life crisis to push you over the edge. Honestly, could you survive a divorce, chronic illness, unemployment, sudden homelessness, losing the esteem of your close friends, or loneliness? Of course, no one is exempt from these life dilemmas and there is no insurance that covers these catastrophes. Even though no one is exempt from these unfavorable situations, there is a way to be protected from them. Yes, rain will and must fall, but if you have proper protection you won’t be anxious when it starts to rain.

If you do not have a relationship with God, the Creator, you are losing out on an excellent opportunity to have peace of mind while in this life and to reap future benefits that God promises.

What does that have to do with me?

No matter what anyone tells you, God created you to have a relationship with Him. You may have repressed this natural longing for a relationship with God for a long time.

However, the anxieties brought on by life’s impossibilities are nothing less than your inner self calling out for a reconnection with God. Nothing else can fill this void nor take the place of this spiritual longing that is inherent to all human beings.

How can I satisfy this emptiness that I always feel?

We can only satisfy our feeling of emptiness by reconnecting with God, the Creator. However, due to our sinful nature we cannot relate to God on our own terms. There is a barrier between God and man. The Bible, which is the word of God, tells us that man is cut off from any purposeful relationship with God:

The Bible states in Isaiah 59:2, “But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.”

The punishment for man’s sinful nature is death, which includes a spiritual separation from God in this present life.

The Bible says in Romans 6:23, “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

God will also punish those who do not ask for and receive His forgiveness in this life.

The Bible says in Revelation 20:14-15, “…the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.”

What must I do to be saved?

You can overcome the terrible anxieties of your present life and escape God’s punishment for sin.

God recognizes that all human beings come into this world with sins.

The Bible states in Romans 3:23, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God…”

However God loves us and wants to save and protect us from the eternal punishment reserved for those who choose to live in sin.

The Bible states in John 3:16, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
God sent His only Son, Jesus Christ, to die in order to pay for our sins. This was the only way that God’s judgment could be satisfied. Jesus Christ rose up from the tomb triumphantly showing the world that He had power over death and He returned to his Father in Heaven.

We can do nothing by ourselves to receive God’s forgiveness. We cannot receive His forgiveness by our good deeds, by our kindness to others, neither by our religious acts. We can only be saved by asking Jesus Christ to forgive us and reconnect us with God, our father. Salvation is only possible through Jesus Christ.

The Bible says in 1 John 1:9, “If we confess our sins, he [Jesus Christ] is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

Jesus Christ is the answer to an intimate relationship with God, without Him life is void and meaningless. Turn to God and put your trust in Jesus Christ Who died for you and rose again.

Amen.

The important point here is that you should ask Jesus to come into your life, forgive you of your sins and reunite you with God in a personal and intimate relationship.

When Christ comes into your life, you become a Christian, that is, a follower of Jesus Christ and you also become a child of God.

If you sincerely asked Jesus Christ in your life and believed that you have a personal relationship with God, then you are as of this moment a Christian; that is a child of God.

Are You Content? (GLMX #469)

This is the “chief of sinners,” Daniel Whyte III, president of Gospel Light Society International, with the Gospel Light Minute X Podcast #469 titled, “Are You Content?” I’m here to remind you of what the Bible says, that “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners” like you and me.

ARE YOU CONTENT WITH WHERE YOU ARE?
We live fast lives, always racing to get things done before deadlines. Meanwhile we are all aware of our final deadline: death itself.

Did you know that the Bible has a simple message about death? Summarized, the Bible says that though all humans are sinners, God loved us so much that He gave Himself, through His Son, to save us. This is the message of John 3:16: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

WHAT MUST WE BE SAVED FROM?
From sin! Sin is our rebellion towards God; the God who created us. From birth we are unholy and unworthy of God because of our natural rebellion towards Him. Romans 3:23 states: “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” This verse is a short but concise summary of our human fallen nature.

But what does sin lead to? The answer is found in Romans 6:23, where it says: “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” This explicitly states that because of our sin, we must be given the payment of death. In the same way an employee is paid for his work, we too are paid for our sins. Are you content with your standing before God?

THE BIBLE DOES NOT ONLY CONDEMN, IT ALSO TELLS US WHAT IT TAKES TO BE SAVED!
God’s provision of salvation was an extraordinary feat, which can be found in detail in the Bible. Summarized it is this: Romans 5:8 says, “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us”. It took Jesus Christ, the Son of God, to die in our place to take our sins from us. These sins could never be repaid on our own, but Christ died and returned from the dead to save us from eternal separation from God.

And what is our response to this? How are we saved? Ephesians 2:8-9 explains it briefly and simply: “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” To have faith is to believe. Grace is an undeserved gift given. Those who have faith that Christ died for their sins will receive the gracious gift of salvation. It is given freely, there is no work on our part but to receive it.

THIS IS THE SIMPLE MESSAGE OF THE GOSPEL.
If you wish to know more, I urge you to read the Gospels—the books of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. There you will find the full story of Jesus.

God allowed the death and resurrection of His Son to happen so that humans, who were previously separated from Him, could be brought back into their relationship with Him. God did this because He loves us.

Amen.

Two Appointments Every Man Has to Keep (GLMX #478)

This is the “chief of sinners,” Daniel Whyte III, president of Gospel Light Society International, with the Gospel Light Minute X Podcast #478 titled, “Two Appointments Every Man Has to Keep” I’m here to remind you of what the Bible says, that “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners” like you and me.

Every day, we make appointments.

Some we keep, others we postpone or cancel.

However, there are two appointments

that every person must keep.

The Bible says that every person has an appointment with death and an appointment with God after death. The Bible states in Hebrews 9:27, “It is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment”.

1. An Appointment With Death

We have an appointment with death because of sin. We all sin because of the choice of one man—the first man, Adam. Adam disobeyed God’s first command and ate of the forbidden fruit. The Bible says in Romans 5:12, “Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned”. We are all sinners by nature and by choice. Our sin brings both physical and spiritual death (separation from God).

2. An Appointment With God

We all have an appointment with God after death. When we meet God, He will either judge us as sinners or accept us into heaven as His children. The Bible says in Acts 17:31, “… He [God] hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness”. Jesus Christ said in John 5:24, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life”.

How Can You Be Ready?

Good works will not prepare you for this meeting. Ephesians 2:8-9 says, “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.”

We can only have salvation because of the choice of an obedient, sinless man. 1 Peter 3:18, “For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit”. The second man, Jesus Christ, obeyed God’s will and died for the sins of mankind so that fellowship with God might be restored and eternal life made available to all. The Bible says in I Corinthians 15:22 says, “For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive”. Christ died for your sin and rose again from the dead so that you can be ready to meet God!

You alone can choose your future. The only way to prepare to meet God is to obey His command to repent (turn from your way and go God’s way) and to receive Christ as your personal Lord and Savior. Isaiah 55:7 says, “Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.” Romans 10:9, 13 says, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved…For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

The bad news is that if you do not choose to receive the righteousness of Christ, you will stand before a Holy God with all your sins, and you will be condemned to an eternity in Hell. The Bible says in Hebrews 2:3, “How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation”. Hell is a real place and unbelievers will not be allowed into heaven. The Bible states in Revelation 20:15, “And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire”.

Are You Ready to Meet God?

If you are willing to humbly acknowledge your sinful condition before God and, in your heart, turn from sin to Christ, you do not have to fear your two appointments.

Won’t you call upon Jesus today?

John 1:12 states, “But as many as received him [Jesus], to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name”.

If you receive, you are ready.

If you do not receive, you are not ready.

The Return of the Prodigal (GLMX #477)

This is the “chief of sinners,” Daniel Whyte III, president of Gospel Light Society International, with the Gospel Light Minute X Podcast #477 titled, “The Return of the Prodigal” I’m here to remind you of what the Bible says, that “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners” like you and me.

The world we live in is confused. Culture says there is no truth. To many, this means there is no God. Others have adopted the belief that God is dead, or have attempted to redefine God according to their preferences.

But the idea that there is no universal truth has never really resonated with the deepest parts of our being. We look at nature, we look at creation, we look at our own journey, and we know there is deeper truth. Each one of us searches for meaning. We long for truth.

The message of Jesus Christ tells us there is truth. It tells us truth applies to everyone. The existence of God, the creation of man, man’s desperate need and search for redemption, and our ability to now find peace with God are universal truths. The Bible has been pointing to Truth for centuries. It tells the story of Jesus and reveals that He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. In the Bible we are shown the way to eternal life.

Because of the sinless life and sacrificial death of Jesus Christ, we can now be reconciled to our Creator and Heavenly Father. We can know we are loved beyond anything we can imagine. We don’t earn His love—we receive it, and absolutely nothing can separate us from His love. We can now realize we are loved as we are and not as we wish we were. When we trust in Jesus Christ, our sins are no longer counted against us. We are adopted and received into His family. We now have a Father. The Bible tells us blessed is the person whose sins are forgiven. We are free.

Reconciling a lost world to Himself has been the work of our Heavenly Father since the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The apostles were told to go into all the world to make disciples, baptize believers, and teach the ways of God. Each one of us needs to hear this truth—that God has reconciled all things to Himself because of what Jesus Christ did on the cross. This news of forgiveness—that we can now be reconciled to God through faith in Jesus Christ—changes everything. It sets us free.

It’s time for you to be reconciled to God. It’s time for you to believe in your heart and confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord.

The Bible says in John 3:16, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

The Bible says in Romans 8:32, “He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?”

The Bible says in Romans 8:37-39, “Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Romans 5:9-11 states, “Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.”

Romans 4:7-8 says, “Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered. Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin.”

The Bible states in Romans 10:9, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”

If you do not know the Lord Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour in the free pardon of your sins.
Timeless Truths About Your Destiny (GLMX #476)

This is the “chief of sinners,” Daniel Whyte III, president of Gospel Light Society International, with the Gospel Light Minute X Podcast #476 titled, “Timeless Truths About Your Destiny” I’m here to remind you of what the Bible says, that “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners” like you and me.

What does time mean to you? Have you ever asked yourself “why am I here? what is my purpose for living? You may be living each day aimlessly, or pursuing your dreams. Each person is given the freedom to choose how to utilize their time. Time is a priceless commodity which, once it is lost, can never be retrieved.

When viewed against the vast reaches of time and the endless ages of eternity, our lives are incredibly short. The Bible says in James 4:14, “Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away”. Tomorrow is not promised to anyone. The Bible states in Ecclesiastes 3:1-2 “To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die…” What time is it for you?

When your time is up, where will you spend eternity? Have you ever thought about that? It is a reality which draws nearer with every tick of the clock. Don’t let time—your life—slip by without answering this most important question. The Bible states in Hebrews 9:27–28, “It is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.”

God loves you so much that He sent His Son Jesus Who entered time and came to earth as a man. Jesus lived a perfect life and then became the perfect sacrifice, shedding His blood for the cleansing of our sins. He died in our place, bearing God’s punishment instead of us, to provide the gift of eternal life with Him. On the third day He rose from the dead. The Bible states in Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”.

When it comes to washing away our sins and being made right with God, our religious efforts and good deeds are a waste of time and cannot get us to heaven.

Now is your time to turn to God to receive by faith the gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ. Recognize that you are a sinner, ask Him to forgive you and accept His sacrifice on the cross on your behalf. God loves you and has a plan and purpose for your life. Place your trust in Him alone, turning away from trying to live your life in your own strength or putting your trust in another person. Jesus Christ said in 1 John 5:12,“ He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life”.

Jesus is knocking on the door of your heart. Will you let Him in? He desires to have a relationship with you. Jesus Christ said in Revelation 3:20 “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with him”. Now is the time to open the door of your heart to receive Jesus.

This is a timely message of truth for you to realize your purpose and destiny, and to make the most important decision in your life—to accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior.

Amen.

Tough Love (GLMX #475)

This is the “chief of sinners,” Daniel Whyte III, president of Gospel Light Society International, with the Gospel Light Minute X Podcast #475 titled, “Tough Love” I’m here to remind you of what the Bible says, that “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners” like you and me.

There are so many people I know and love who are going through life passively, not knowing or even caring about their relationship with God or what happens to them after they die. Jesus said we should love everyone, so what I say I say because I care.

This is not a time for flattery. This is the time for tough love, speaking the truth in love with the other person’s best interest in mind. Here are the facts: according to the Bible there is a situation that exists, and we caused it. When man chose to sin against God, his nature changed, he became a sinner and this sin nature is passed down from generation to generation bringing upon all of humanity death and condemnation (Romans 5:12).

You may feel you’re a decent person and that you sincerely try to live a moral life, but that’s not the issue. The issue is you still have a sin nature, because you were born with it and you can’t change it. We commit sins because it’s our nature to sin; we don’t have the power or the ability not to sin. This is a truth you must believe about yourself if you’re ever going to be reconciled with God.

God is holy, and according to His own law, He must punish anyone who sins. The penalty for our sin is death; first we die physically and then we die a second death which is being eternally separated from God, living in torment. All of us sin against God and God will never allow us to enter heaven as a sinner. You can choose to ignore what I’m telling you, or you could try to explain it away, or you could totally reject this message—that’s your prerogative. But first understand that I’m not expressing my own opinion; I’m telling you what the Word of God teaches. You can choose to reject what I’m telling you, but your rejection cannot change the truth.

What can we do about this situation? We can’t do anything—we are powerless to do anything. There is no religion, no rituals, no Rabbi or Priest, no Mitzvah or penance, no amount good deeds could ever satisfy the demands of a Holy God for our sins. Man, on his own, is eternally lost, without hope and he’s helpless to do anything about it. This is the situation you’re in.

Now that you heard all the bad news, I have some good news for you. The Bible tells us in Romans 2:4 that God’s patience and goodness leads us to repentance. This is my prayer for you: that when you recognize how much God loves you, and the price He paid to save you from your sins, it will cause you to repent. Repentance is necessary. Jesus said Luke 13:3, “…except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish”. Repentance means to change your mind and change your direction. It means you believe what the Bible teaches about your true condition, you believe that you sin against God and in spite of your sin and rebellion God still loves you.

Look at the love God has for you; look at His grace and goodness. Look at what he did to deliver you from your hopeless situation. Have you ever seen a greater demonstration of love than when God Himself became a man in the person of Jesus Christ to suffer and die as your substitute to save you from your sins? What more can God do to show His love for you?

I pray that you will believe this truth and cry out to God to forgive you. Do not procrastinate, because you’re already under the condemnation of God and you don’t want to risk dying in your sin. Trust solely in Jesus Christ, the only savior of sinners. False religion with its false doctrine can only give you false hope. God loves you, and is willing to forgive you. Go to Him in faith, lay down your pride, admit your sins, and ask Him to save you. On the authority of His Word I assure you He will. Jesus said in John 6:37, “…him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.”.

The Best Trade Ever Made (GLMX #474)

This is the “chief of sinners,” Daniel Whyte III, president of Gospel Light Society International, with the Gospel Light Minute X Podcast #474 titled, “The Best Trade Ever Made” I’m here to remind you of what the Bible says, that “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners” like you and me.

Professional sports teams constantly trade players in order to better their rosters—a third baseman for a pitcher; a running back for a tight end; a forward for a point guard, etc. The Internet provides websites listing the ten best/worst trades, 50 dumbest trades, and the most lopsided trades in sports history. Sometimes one team greatly benefits from the trade; occasionally both teams benefit; but on other occasions, neither team comes out ahead. Every trade involves some risk for both teams.

Have you noticed that life is full of trade-offs? We trade sunshine for much-needed rain; winter for summer; and day for night. We hand over money to have food, clothing, and shelter. We trade youth for life experiences. Marriage brings responsibilities that are on a different level than single life, where there was more freedom of time, finances, and flexibility. Substitute teachers make less money than full-time teachers, but they have the opportunity to say yes or no to teaching opportunities. In the financial market, generally when stocks go up, bonds go down. You may trade in your older car that is paid off for something newer and more comfortable; however, you now have car payments and higher insurance premiums.

Some trades are optional—such as spending money, marriage, and trading cars; others, like the weather, are not. Usually, these situations have both pros and cons.

The spiritual life provides the greatest trade ever offered, without any downside for us. Adam and Eve were created as sinless humans; however, they sinned in the Garden of Eden by choosing to eat fruit from the only tree that was forbidden by God—the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. He warned them they would die if they ate it. They traded life for eventual death. Because of their sin, all humans are born sinners.

God, being omniscient, knew they would do that, so He had a plan. Thousands of years later, His Son Jesus came to earth as a baby—born to a virgin, Mary. He humbled Himself to become a man—a sinless man who chose to trade places with sinners by taking all of our sins on Himself that we might have His
righteousness and eternal life. At age 33, Jesus was falsely accused, beaten, and crucified unjustly that we might have life. The Bible states in Isaiah 53:6 “The Lord hath laid on Him [Jesus] the iniquity [sin] of us all”.

1 Peter 2:24-25 explains that Jesus “bore our sins in His own body on the tree [cross], that we … should live unto righteousness—by whose stripes ye were healed. For you were as sheep going astray… up”

The Bible says 1 Peter 3:18 “For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God…”.

As sinners, we start out on Satan’s team. Jesus’ death and resurrection made it possible for us to be traded to God’s team—permanently. He paid the price. You are a free agent with the ability to choose whose team you will belong to for eternity. This trade is optional. It’s up to you. You have everything to lose by not accepting the trade and everything to gain by trading your sinfulness for God’s righteousness.

You’ll never receive a better offer. Accept it today. Simply admit to God that you are a sinner by birth and actions; ask for His forgiveness of sin; and accept His offer of salvation based completely on the fact that Jesus died on the cross in your place. Trade death for life; sinfulness for righteousness. He is waiting for you to join His team.

If you do not know the Lord Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour in the free pardon of your sins. Allow me to show you how you can place your faith and trust in Jesus Christ for your souls salvation from the power of sin and from the punishment of sin in that awful place called Hell.
What If It Ended Today? (GLMX #473)

This is the “chief of sinners,” Daniel Whyte III, president of Gospel Light Society International, with the Gospel Light Minute X Podcast #473 titled, “What If It Ended Today?” I’m here to remind you of what the Bible says, that “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners” like you and me.

Friend, have you ever thought about eternity? Where will you go after life here on earth? This life with all the adventures we experience, friendships we enjoy, and memories we make, will one day be over. And no one knows when that will happen. In fact, it could happen today. The Bible says in Hebrews 9:27, “It is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment”. My friend, there are three questions you need to ask yourself and honestly think about, because one day this life will be over.

WHO IS GOD?
If we are honest, everyone knows that God is real. This intricately-designed universe we live in was spoken into being by God Himself. The existence of logic, intelligence, and even freedom show that there is a God. God made us with an internal sense of morality because God is just. That is why we feel guilt. When God created us, He made us with an awareness of our sin. The Bible says in Romans 1:19, 2:15, “Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them…. Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness”. This God that made everything in the universe knows all about you, and He cares about you—God loves you! Now there is a second question you must ask yourself.

WHAT WOULD YOU SAY TO GOD?
God made us with a conscience that not only convinces us of His existence, but also condemns us of our sin. In fact, the Bible says in Romans 3:23, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God”. You may say, “I’m not perfect, but I have never committed horrible sins like murdering someone or cheating on my spouse.” Christ said in the New Testament that hatred for someone is like murdering them in your heart. He also said “Whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart”. You see, we are all corrupt to the core, and that is where sin begins. Every one of us is guilty.

Because God is holy, He cannot tolerate sin. The Bible says in Isaiah 59:2, “But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear”. This separation from God is called death. The Bible is clear that “The wages of sin is death” (Romans 6:23). This means that after we die, we have no hope of going to live with God in heaven. Instead, we must spend forever in hell because we are not worthy to be in God’s presence.

Imagine that you were to die right now, in this moment. If you stood before the God of heaven, and He asked you—“Why should I let you into heaven?”—what would you say to God?

You see, we must admit we cannot get to heaven on our own, and that is why Jesus came. Jesus Christ was completely God and completely man who came to make a way for us to know God. Jesus was the only person to ever live who was completely obedient to every part of God’s law. And as an innocent man, He suffered a cruel death on the cross to endure separation from God so that we do not have to. The Bible explains in 2 Corinthians 5:21, “For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him”. We could never be righteous before God on our own. But Jesus Christ died in our place, paid our sin debt, and rose from the dead to offer us his righteousness. So how do we become righteous before God? The Bible says in Romans 10:10,13, “For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation….For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved”. First you must believe that you cannot get to heaven on your own because of your sin, but that Christ died in your place. Then you must confess with your mouth through prayer and ask God to save you from your sin through Christ’s death on the cross. God says that if we believe in our heart and confess with our mouth, He saves us from our sin.

You can call upon God right now! If you have already trusted in Christ to save you from your sin, then this next question is for you.

WHO ARE YOU TELLING ABOUT GOD?
The Good News of Christ buying us back from sin is called the Gospel, and it the greatest thing you could ever tell someone. It is honestly why I am delivering this message today, because I want you to hear about how you can come to know God. And if you already know Him, it is why you are here on earth—to tell people the Gospel. If you are saved, there is coming a day when you and I will stand before God’s judgment seat, and Christ will ask us what we did with the Gospel. All over this world there are people who do not know God or are just hurting, and Jesus is the answer!

Jesus gave His disciples this final command before ascended back to heaven: “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you…” (Matthew 28:19-20). We have the responsibility to tell people about the only way to God, which is through faith in Jesus’ death on the cross.

But Christ’s command does not stop with leading a person to the Lord. We must teach people from all nations to follow God’s commands, including God’s command to teach all nations. While we have this gift of life, we ought to be intentionally following Christ and causing others to follow Christ as well. Find someone to invest in, even over a cup of coffee, for the sake of encouraging them to follow God better. And in all you do, make much of Jesus! The Bible states in John 3:30, “He must increase, but I must decrease”.

Amen.

Dead Yet Living (GLMX #472)

This is the “chief of sinners,” Daniel Whyte III, president of Gospel Light Society International, with the Gospel Light Minute X Podcast #472 titled, “Dead Yet Living” I’m here to remind you of what the Bible says, that “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners” like you and me.

When a person is declared dead, his lifeless body is wheeled into the mortuary and prepared for burial. His loved ones mourn and cry over this loss, some holding to memories of great times, some go into deep depression and never recover.

But have you ever stopped to question, “is everyone walking and talking truly alive?” I mean, are they alive in Jesus? The Bible talks about the fact that man is alive because of God’s breath. We have a connection with Him, but we also have a choice to give Him space so He can make us truly alive through His Spirit.

It is sad how people live a dead life, paying so much attention to trivial things at the detriment of their soul, feeding and thriving in the body while the soul is dead in sin. A man, woman, community—even a nation—can be dead without knowing it unless they give space to the One who can make alive.

Are you alive in your thoughts? What are you thinking about presently? Could it be pornography, could it be adultery and fornication, could it even be abortion?

Jesus Christ is calling unto your heart today. He has done all for you to the extent of laying down His life on the cross. Maybe this is not the first time, maybe not the tenth time you have heard about Jesus. He offers life and eternal bliss. When a man dies here on earth, it is okay if he has made His ways right with God. However, if a man dies eternally … what a pity! What a pain.

Jesus is calling you, saying: “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me.” Would you yield to this call so you can live on this earth in Him and also be part of an eternal bliss and peace where there is no gnashing of teeth or pain? The choice has always been yours. Please choose wisely and be on the Lord’s team.

Are you ready to choose Christ and put your trust in Him today? This life-transforming decision will be the beginning of a new life in Him.

If you do not know the Lord Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour in the free pardon of your sins. Allow me to show you how you can place your faith and trust in Jesus Christ for your souls salvation from the power of sin and from the punishment of sin in that awful place called Hell.
