The Oscar winner starred in the musical movie franchise as Donna Sheridan, the mother of Sophie (played by Amanda Seyfried). Although Donna was killed off-screen in Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, Meryl did make a brief appearance at the end of the second film.

Following endless rumours that a third Mamma Mia movie is on the cards, Meryl has now spoken out about whether she would like to return.

During an interview on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, host Stephen asked: “Since I have you here, Meryl Streep, would you be into doing Mamma Mia 3?

“Damn yes! Absolutely,” Meryl exclaimed with a smile, as the studio audience erupted into cheers.

Elsewhere in her interview, Meryl referenced Mamma Mia when reflecting on the public interest surrounding her new movie, The Devil Wears Prada 2.

“20 years ago, [The Devil Wears Prada] was categorised as a ‘chick flick’ and that designation has kind of not worn well, after Barbie and Mamma Mia,” she explained.

“And other films that have completely catched the studios by surprise that people want to see them, because they have girls and women in the centre of the story,” Meryl continued.

“We had to scrabble for our budget. I’ve talked to Greta [Gerwig, Barbie writer and director] about it and that was true with Barbie a little bit, in comparison to what they spend on other films. This one, honey, they spent the money,” she teased further.

This is not the first time that Meryl has spoken out about the possibility of returning for Mamma Mia 3, despite Donna’s off-screen death.

“I don’t know how they’re going to do it. They have an idea. I haven’t heard it yet but it’s in [my diary] and I’m going to hear about it pretty soon,” she hinted to Deadline in 2024.

“Of course I want to do it. I think folks love it,” she added.

In September 2023, Meryl opened up to Vogue about the possibilities in which Donna could return.

“I told [producer Judy Craymer] if she could figure out a way to reincarnate Donna, I’m into that. Or it could be like in one of those soap operas where Donna comes back and reveals it was really her twin sister that died,” she joked.

The chairwoman of NBCUniversal Entertainment, Dame Donna Langley, also recently teased that she is currently in “conversations with the wonderful Judy Craymer,” the original producer behind the ABBA musical.

“Yes, I’m going to say right now that there will be a Mamma Mia 3,” she told Deadline at the BAFTA Film Awards in February, adding: “We’re talking about it.”

When asked if Meryl Streep might return for the third film, she replied: “If Meryl Streep would like to come back, we’ll find a way to bring her back.”

In a shock statement today, RTÉ 2FM confirmed major changes to its weekday lineup, including the introduction of Katja to the schedule.

The presenter will present 2FM Drive, which was hosted by Doireann Garrihy before she went on maternity leave, alongside Laura Fox from 3pm every weekday.

Katja made her radio debut on 2FM last October when she stepped in to cover a weekend programme.

Together, the duo will deliver a bigger variety of bold music, all with the authentic and relatable tone that young listeners demand.

Katja currently hosts The Six O’Clock Show on Virgin Media alongside Brian Dowling, but it’s unclear if she will be continuing her position after the announcement of her new role.

In the schedule shakeup today, RTÉ also confirmed 2FM Breakfast with Carl Mullan, Roz Purcell and Aisling Bonner will now be extended to 10am.

They will be followed by 2FM Morning with Doireann Garrihy – which sees Doireann return with a brand-new earlier programme at 10am, where she will bring engaging conversation and her unmistakable Irish humour to her two-hour show.

Broadcasting live from their Cork studios, Demi Isaac will present 2FM Afternoon alongside Mikey O’Reilly from 12pm in our Dublin studios.

Both were selected through an expressions-of-interest competition that ran across the station last year.

The new schedule doesn’t include Tracy Clifford, who usually hosts the 12-3pm slot.

Addressing her departure, RTÉ said Tracy “very much remains part of the RTÉ family and details will be announced in due course.”

Head of RTÉ 2FM, Dan Healy, added: “Tracy has done a phenomenal job for the last ten years on 2FM. I want to thank her and her team for the great radio they have produced over that period.”

Speaking about the new schedule, he continued: “I’m incredibly proud of 2FM’s new schedule and the vision behind it. A huge amount of thought, research, creativity, and collaboration has gone into shaping a lineup that feels fresh, engaging, and truly reflective of the audiences we serve in Ireland.

“What makes this schedule especially exciting is the range of voices and perspectives it brings together, and which will create a rich listening experience that feels both authentic and inclusive.”

The new daytime schedule launches on Tuesday May 5th 2026.

The radio favourite had been at the helm of 2FM Afternoon for a decade, after joining the slot in 2015.

On Thursday, the team behind RTÉ 2FM announced the station’s brand-new lineup, which will premiere in May.

2FM Breakfast with Carl Mullan, Roz Purcell and Aisling Bonner has been extended until 10am.

Doireann Garrihy will return to the airwaves with 2FM Morning, a brand-new earlier programme from 10am. The show will run for two hours each weekday morning, marking Doireann’s return to work following the birth of her first child, Rosie.

Demi Isaac will present 2FM Afternoon alongside Mikey O’Reilly from 12pm, after the duo were selected through an expressions-of-interest competition that ran across the station last year.

Then, from 3pm, Laura Fox will be joined on 2FM Drive by Katja Mia, who has officially joined 2FM. Katja made her radio debut on 2FM last October when she stepped in to cover a weekend programme.

Rounding out the weekdays will be Beta Da Silva, who will broadcast from 6pm.

Alongside the lineup announcement, the 2FM team also confirmed that Tracy Clifford has left the station after 10 years.

Last month, The Traitors presenter made her debut on BBC One as the host of her first ever chat show, simply titled The Claudia Winkleman Show.

The brand-new series has been described as an alternative to The Graham Norton Show, and is currently on air while The Graham Norton Show is off on a scheduled break.

However, its first three episodes received mixed reviews from its audience. Some viewers took to social media to label the show as “cringe” and “forced”, while others praised it as being “absolutely brilliant” and “fabulous”.

Ahead of its fourth episode airing on Friday, April 3, it has now been reported that the BBC are already eyeing up a second series of The Claudia Winkleman Show.

An insider told The Sun that viewing figures for the chat show have already exceeded the most recent series of The Graham Norton Show.

The first episode of Claudia’s show got 2.5 million views in its first seven days, compared to the first episode of the most recent series of Graham’s show getting 2.3 million.

The episode’s overnight viewing figures were then boosted by almost 50 percent, after viewers caught up on BBC iPlayer.

A source told The Sun that Claudia’s popularity from The Traitors and Strictly Come Dancing has allowed her to gain a wider audience.

“That’s a particular bonus for them because it shows that the younger, more online-friendly market are interested in the show,” the insider stated.

“And that looks like she’s brought them across from her time fronting The Traitors which had a very broad market.

“That kind of shift really matters to the execs as that’s where they see the future of telly lying.

“So it’s understood that Beeb chiefs are poised to rubber stamp another series — if that’s what Claudia wants,” they added.

After the first episode of her chat show aired on BBC One, Claudia opened up on Heart Radio’s Breakfast Show and admitted that she thought she was “awful”.

“I’m not having this conversation. The first one was so awful,” she confessed to radio presenters Amanda Holden and Jamie Theakston.

“Everyone needs to stop speaking and listen to aunty Claud […] If you mention it again, I’m going to get violent. I suggest people don’t watch [it]. There’s only a few more, let’s pretend it never happened,” Claudia joked.

After declining Amanda’s compliment about her hosting skills, Claudia added: “There are people who can do this and I’m not one of them.”

The Stranger Things star came out as gay in January 2023, but has always remained private about his dating life.

Three years on, Noah has now confirmed that he is in a new relationship with a mystery man.

On Wednesday evening, the 21-year-old took to his Instagram stories to post a snap of him hugging his partner on a rooftop.

The photo of the happy couple was taken from behind, with Noah choosing not to disclose his partner’s identity.

“One month of us ,” he simply captioned the post.

Following months of speculation about his sexuality, Noah decided in January 2023 to come out as gay.

At the time, the actor took to TikTok and jokingly lip synced to the viral sound: “You know what it never was? That serious. It was never that serious. Quite frankly, it will never be that serious.”

In his caption, he wrote: “When I finally told my friends and family I was gay after being scared in the closet for 18 years and all they said was ‘we know.’ I guess I’m more similar to Will than I thought.”

Noah’s coming out story was then reflected in the final season of Stranger Things, which concluded on New Year’s Day.

In the penultimate episode of the Netflix hit, Noah’s character Will Byers came out as gay to his friends and family members.

The episode copped backlash from viewers online and it has since become the lowest-rated episode of Stranger Things on IMDb, with a score of 5.6 out of 10.

In an interview with Variety in January, the show’s creators The Duffer Brothers addressed the criticisms, and also revealed that Noah’s real-life experience influenced the episode’s script.

Ross Duffer clarified: “We’re proud of the episode, and we’re proud of the scene, and proud of Noah, who gave a really brave, very vulnerable performance.”

Matt Duffer detailed: “I think that’s where Ross and I were most sensitive, was Noah — because of how close to home this hit for him. And our goal was to make sure that he was comfortable and happy with the scene. And when he was, we felt good about it.

“I’ve been texting with him a lot, but texting with him specifically after that scene and after that episode aired. And he’s in a really good place. He’s very proud of the scene, and we’re proud of the scene.”

When asked if they were surprised by the online hate that the scene received, Matt responded: “No is the honest truth. Because it is, as Ross said, something we’ve been building for a really long time. I always say, Ross and I are many things, but subtle is not one of those things!”

Matt also recalled that he and Ross “spent longer writing” Will’s coming out scene than any other scene in the final season.

“We were so concerned about getting it right. There were a lot of things that went into it. I mean, we’re definitely nervous about how it’s going to go over with everyone. But not as nervous as we were handing it over to Noah. Because ultimately, it needed to resonate and be truthful for him,” he shared.

“We really were writing it to and for Noah. He wrote to us sobbing after he read it. So it really worked and resonated for him, which was great. On the day, frankly, there wasn’t really much direction at all,” he continued.

“Noah spent a long time — I mean, months — prepping for that scene, that moment. Luckily, that script was done well in advance. I know he did a lot of work himself… And most of what’s in there is the first take,” he concluded.

The couple called it quits back in January after two years of marriage, but it has since been confirmed that their union was never legally binding.

Amid ongoing speculation surrounding their split, Olivia released an explosive statement on Instagram earlier this week, accusing Brad of cheating on her multiple times throughout their ten-year relationship.

In response to Olivia’s comment about “fellow females” writing about her, Katie Hind, a well-known journalist and columnist for the Daily Mail, responded under Goss.ie‘s post.

Addressing Olivia directly, she wrote: “Hi @olivia_attwood, when you cite female journalists, you are clearly meaning me. Is this because I didn’t fall for your nonsense? Because I didn’t believe your narrative?”

“Because I exposed your PR plan? Because my newspaper revealed your fake wedding and your subsequent lies about being married? But oh no, it’s those bad female journalists, we are the bad ones.”

While Olivia didn’t respond to Katie’s comment, Bradley did.

Replying to her comment under our post, the footballer wrote from his official account: “You’ve got a lot of this wrong.. just leave her alone please.”

This is the first time Bradley has publicly spoken out since their split hit headlines back in January.

At the time, it was reported that they called it quits due to a “breach of trust” on Bradley’s side.

Last weekend, fans were shocked to discover the pair were never legally married, despite filming an entire TV show surrounding their nuptials.

In June 2023, Olivia and Bradley hosted a £200,000 wedding for eighty guests at the five-star Bulgari hotel in Knightsbridge, London, which was filmed for their ITV series Olivia Marries Her Match.

In scenes from the finale, Olivia’s younger brother Max and Dack’s best friend Ronnie Vint watched as the pair delivered their vows and signed a piece of paper.

However, the union was not logged with the General Register Office, the archive of all marriages and civil partnerships for England and Wales.

An unnamed source told the Mail Online of the reports: “The Bvlgari Hotel where Olivia and Bradley had their wedding ceremony didn’t have a wedding licence at the time.

“Despite her best efforts, the wedding planner was unable to turn one around in time so an appointment was made six weeks after the ceremony to complete paperwork at a registry office near their home in Cheshire. During these six weeks, Olivia uncovered a number of mistruths which put a stall on following through with the paperwork.

“Although the relationship spanned over a decade and they were both very much in love with one another, ultimately Olivia’s inability to trust Bradley forced her hand in not being able to legally bind their union.

“Every attempt was made to contractually bind the ceremony on the day itself and alternatively, an appointment was made to sign paper work in the weeks after.

“Unfortunately circumstances put a stall on them progressing with the formalities that were meant to follow,” the source added.

Since their split, Olivia has reportedly struck up a romance with her longtime friend Pete Wicks, and the pair were recently spotted kissing on a night out.

The former Little Mix singer welcomed her twin girls, Ocean and Story, into the world prematurely in May with her former fiancé, Zion Foster.

The lifelong disabling condition causes dramatic muscle weakness with severe breathing and swallowing issues, and can be fatal without radical treatment.

At the time, the singer revealed that her baby girls had had their treatment, which she was “so grateful for, because if they don’t have it, they will die.”

Since her twins’ diagnosis, Jesy has been campaigning for a test to be introduced in newborn screenings that will help to diagnose SMA.

A few months on from her twins’ diagnosis, Jesy has now shared a huge update on the progress of her campaign.

On Wednesday, the 34-year-old took to Instagram to re-share a post from the charity SMA UK, which confirmed that the ISE will start screenings for SMA in England from October of this year.

The timeline has been moved forward by several months, as the screenings were previously expected to be introduced from January 2027.

In her caption, Jesy admitted that she was “so proud” of the new update.

“A big step forward for SMA, ISE have announced to start screening for SMA in England will now begin in October 2026,” she penned.

The new timeframe comes just a few months after Jesy was announced as an official patron for the charity SMA UK.

At the time, the Black Magic singer confessed she was “deeply touched” to be involved with the charity.

“This truly means so much to me. I’ve been deeply touched by the SMA community from the strength of the children, the resilience of the families, and the love that surrounds them every single day,” she penned on Instagram.

The rumours were initially sparked by the actress’s stylist, Law Roach, who told Access Hollywood at the Actor Awards: “The wedding has already happened. You missed it.”

When pressed on whether he was serious, he added: “It’s very true!”

During the press tour for her new movie The Drama, the 29-year-old actress, who has been engaged to her Spider-Man co-star since December 2024, fuelled further speculation by wearing a gold band on her wedding finger.

At the same time, Zendaya has been leaning heavily into bridal-inspired fashion, stepping out in a series of white gowns to promote the wedding-themed movie, which she stars in opposite Robert Pattinson.

While fans continue to speculate about their relationship – including whether or not they secretly married – Zendaya has explained why she’s remaining tight-lipped on the status of their union.

Speaking on the Modern Love podcast, the Euphoria star said: “I just feel like for me there is a level of parasocial investment in my personal relationship, which I understand.

“I’m aware that I’m a public person and so is he, and I’m also aware that we’ve grown up in front of people and we’ve done movies where we fall in love with each other, so I really do understand that, and I don’t want to dismiss that like, ‘Stay out of my business’ or whatever.

An insider continued: “Fans will be justified in feeling they’ve been misled.

“And it will certainly raise eyebrows with firms and even TV execs that they’ve invested in a perfect picture that’s all a sham.”

However, another source insisted: “Stacey and Joe obviously knew that their garden wedding wasn’t legal and were upfront about that.”

At the time, Stacey told fans they didn’t have a licence to legally wed on the grounds of their Essex home, but insisted they would make it legal afterwards.

She wrote on Instagram: “To get married anywhere legally, the place has to have a ‘civil ceremony’ licence.

“One of the requirements for this licence is that the premises must be made ‘readily available’ for ceremonies.

“As this is our private family home and we need it to remain that way we couldn’t go for that option.

“So we are having a relaxed private blessing in front of our closest friends and family and a ceremony of our love to each other. We will register our marriage legally after.”

The revelation comes after it emerged last weekend that Olivia Attwood and Bradley Dack never made their marriage legal, after filming their nuptials for ITV.

At the time, it was reported that the reality star didn’t register their marriage due to trust issues. Olivia has since accused Bradley of cheating on her multiple times throughout their relationship.

Just two weeks ago, Stacey was forced to address rumours surrounding her marriage to Joe, after she was spotted without her wedding ring.

The mother-of-five appeared on ITV’s This Morning, during which she was quizzed by presenters Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley about her marriage.

Ben asked: “There are these crazy rumours going on about the two of you at the moment… What’s going on there, Stace?”

Stacey then went on to ask what the speculation was about, as she exclaimed: “There’s a new rumour each week!”

Ben explained: “You’ve not been wearing your ring. There might be some issues going on?”

Former X Factor star Stacey then cleared up the confusion.

“Do you know what, I am terrible. I don’t read any of that stuff. In fact, does anyone anymore?

“But yeah, we just… Have I not been wearing my ring? Probably took it off to go to the toilet, or something,” she teased.

Ben later suggested: “There is a lot going on at the moment, because of [Joe’s] lake, the plan for the lake is coming to fruition. He was talking to us the other day…”

Stacey joked further: “Maybe I dropped my ring in the lake… with our marriage!”

The pair were referring to Joe’s renovation plans for a fishing lake at their family home at Pickle Cottage, as well as an expansion into a glamping site.

Speaking to The Sun last year, Joe detailed: “I’m thinking a couple of yurts, a couple of little hot tubs, a little bit of glamping so people can come and stay on the grounds.”

He added: “I want to make somewhere where you can come and eat good food and bring your wife and she won’t mind you fishing because she’ll have enough things to do. Hopefully, the public will book and come and stay. That’s the big goal – to have a really nice glamping place where people can come and just enjoy nature.”
