In the previous post I asked everyone to count the ghosts in the photo. I personally have counted 4 unexplained images. First, there is the large obvious one in the center; second, a face under the the chin and to the right of that central image; third, there is what appears to be a shadow figure at the bottom center; fourth, in the upper left corner of the photo you can make out the outlines of a face.
You will to look close to see this images, since the photo reproduces a little dark when I transferred it. Take a good hard look and see if you to can see these images.

Did you see the Ghost Hunter episode from last night on Syfy? That was one intense hour. It really lets you know that you have to be careful about what you are dealing with.

I have always felt that spirits are every where around us and that one must be careful in what one says and does so that one doesn't open ones self up to their influences. I would say that most spirits that contact you are not of the friendly persuasion. So be careful out there!

Just a quick note for today. Where seen on television these paranormal research is trying to open themselves up to the spirit world through various ritual. Just a quick note of warning, when these individuals are participating in these rituals they are not opening themselves up to contact the dead, they are only opening themselves up to those individuals that had rebuild against God and were cast out of heaven. The only open themselves up to demons. So be careful about which you do and do not participate in these rituals.

I feel with all the popularity in ghost hunting these days, a little rational thought is in order. First and foremost Ghost Hunting is a belief process, a matter of faith. The existence of ghosts can not be proven or demonstrated by any sound scientific method. Ghost hunting has as its origins the Spiritualist movement of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. A movement riddled with fraud and very poor experimental processes. This is why I have maintained that ghost hunting is a faith based endeavor like any religious belief or cultural belief. We believe, therefore it is.

I'm not saying that spirits or ghosts don't exists. I saying that we can not prove their existence. We merely have to proceed on faith that our interpretations of what we see and experience are correct. All we can factually say is that something is happening that we can not explain. Or there may be many explanations for what has occurred. Take EVPs for example. EVPs may just be wayward radio signals. Maybe radio signals reflected off the ionized trail of meteors. We must remember that the recorders are required by law to accept interference. Of coarse questions arise when the responses are contextually correct based on the questions asked. Most orbs are dust and those that appear to be emitting energy can't really be explained. There is no proof that ghosts can impart a charge to particles or for that matter appear as a ball of light.

Yes we use all kinds of gadgets to support our claims of the paranormal, but we really are using thing that were never designed for this purpose or are based on supposed spiritual guidance. Spiritual guidance is not part of the scientific method of research.

Try to always keep this in mind and treat all evidence of ghosts that you see with skepticism. Like I said ghost hunting is a faith based .system. It is no different from religion or any other cultural belief.

Just so you know, I do believe in ghosts. I believe that all those that have lived on this earth and have died are still here and that in some places the veil is very thin allowing us to get a glimpse of what the next stage in our lives will be.

It has been some time since I added anything. But, here it goes. I still wonder about who all the ghost hunters in the world are really talking to. I don't think that the dead are answering back. I sometimes think that intelligent responses are from mimics. Those that have never possessed a body trying to deceive us and confuse us so as to hide the truth from us. If you are ghost hunting be very careful.

There is a lot going on out there that we don't understand. Getting misled would be very easy if we are not careful.

Thoughts on Residual Haunts

I have been thinking lately about residual haunts and if this is really a true interpretation of what people experience. The conventional theory is that when when people experience a haunt in which the spirits seem oblivious to the living, is just a replay of past events and there are no spirits there. It is felt that certain mineral deposits contribute to this, such as quartz, magnitite and limestone or running water. It is felt that these natural occurring substances can retain information or give off energy to produce these residual haunts.

Now here is what I have been thinking. My thoughts on the subject are just as valid and reasonable as the prevailing theories that exist at the moment. All theories on the subject are conjectures without any true basis in fact. My thoughts are that perhaps there is no such things as a residual haunts. What one sees when one experiences such an event is seeing into the realm of spirits of those who have died and are still working out life's problems. Perhaps what we call intelligent haunts are actually the 1/3 of our brothers and sisters who rebelled and became devils, seeking to mimic, deceive and mislead us.

Remember, I do believe that every man, woman and child that died here on the earth is still here on earth and that if the veil were pulled back we would see them. However, I believe there is more structure to the afterlife than just that. I feel there are divisions in the world of spirits based on our acceptance of certain laws and ordinances which have been set forth from before the world was. I believe that those that have not worked out their obedience to these laws and ordinances are in one realm or condition to continue to work out their lives and those which have worked out their obedience to these eternal laws and ordinances are in a realm or conditions which we do not see in to. I feel that those that interact with us are truly those that have been cast out, trying to deceive and mislead us.

I know that this idea is very controversial, but, I feel that it should be considered. Remember ghost hunting is just an attempt to explain that which can not be explained, just like any other religion out there. There is no connection between the unexplained events which we record and the existence of spirits. Any thoughts you have on the subject would be greatly appreciated.

More On Child Spirits

It has come to my attention that many of you are not convinced when I say there are no child spirits. I guess I need to explain and outline where I'm coming from. Remember I have always maintained that ghost hunting and all things related to it are founded in belief. There is no proof or direct evidence of the paranormal. We can only truly say that there are occurrences that we can not explain at this time. With that said I will explain to you my belief on child spirits.

Before we came to this earth we lived with our heavenly father. We are his spiritual children with Christ being the eldest of us. We lived with our father and progressed as far as we could. We saw that he had a body of flesh and bone and we wanted to become like him. In order to do that a plan was set forth by which we could come to this earth and gain a mortal body. We were to come here to experience all stages of life from infancy to old age and all the mental and physical developments and ailments that go with it. We came here to learn faith and to keep the commandments which our Father has given us. We were given the precious gift of agency and could choose for ourselves whether we would do good or bad. In order to test us, teach us and to help us learn and gain faith, a veil was drawn over our memories so that we could not remember our life in the preexistence. Again I say in the life before this mortal one we grew and progressed as far as we could. We grew to full spiritual maturity. However, we were still innocent. We had not and could not learn faith there and we could not understand the difference between joy and sorrow because we had not yet experienced that. We needed a mortal body to learn all these valuable lessons. Since all progressed as far as they could before taking on a mortal body, there are therefore no child spirits. We then pass through this life learning these lessons. Then we die and pass into the world of spirits which is here on earth. Every man, woman and child that ever lived here on earth is still here. They are waiting to be reunited with their bodies. To be raised to immortality as was promised to all those who kept their first estate and earned the privilege to come here to earth to be tried, tested and learn.

If while on a ghost hunt you see a child spirit or photograph one it is a deception. Just hearing an EVP of what sounds like an immature voice does not mean a child spirit is present. A lot of people have what can be mistaken for child like voices. Remember, an individual that has died will maintain the same personality there that they had in life.

As far as deception goes remember there are 1/3 of are brothers and sisters who rebelled, being led by Lucifer, in the preexistence and were cast out and came to this earth to tempt and deceive us. They are eternally forbidden to gain a body and thus wish to share their misery with us. This is the source of all child spirits. It is their desire to mislead us and prevent our return to our Father.

So be aware and guarded as you Ghost Hunt.

About Orbs

The truth about orbs. What can I say. 99% are nothing more than dust, water vapor, pollen or some such thing. Take a photo near a tree and the picture will be full of orbs. Is it spirits? No, it just pollen! Take a picture in a dusty cemetery, is it ghosts? No it is more than likely dust being kicked up. Even what looks like a clean house can have a lot of dust in it. These orbs show up because most cameras used while ghost hunting have the flash built in and placed very close to the lens. The flash then illuminates the dust and the light is reflected back into the lens. The only way to eliminate this occurrence is to get the flash off the camera. Don't light your shots with the flash close to the lens. If possible bounce the flash off another surface so that you don't directly light the scene. For example, if you are in a house bounce the flash off the ceiling or a wall. It will still light the subject very nicely and eliminate the reflections from all the dust, moisture or whatever small particles are present. Also look for lens flare from these on camera flashes. Unfortunately a lot of cameras now days do not have the ability to use an external flash.

With that in mind it is important to know what to look for. Look for an orb that is self illuminated. You will see a bright border around the orb. Dust will have no such border. Just so you know this effect can be created by photographing a pin point light source out of focus. So be wary of anything some one shows you. You will also want to look for possible structures within the orb. Structures such as a face. Be careful you can take the noise in the shot and create an image in your mind when there really isn't anything at all. One other thing to look for and maybe the most important thing of all, is movement in the frame by the suspected orb. The orb will often leave a trail of light behind them. If everything is frozen in the time of the photograph then there should be no detectable movement by the suspected orb. But, remember all these anomalies can be created by just shooting an out of focus pin point light source against a black field and super imposed on a picture. So be wary.

There is one other source for orbs and this occurs with film. If the day is dry and/or cold you can get a static discharge in your film camera. This discharge will result in an orb appearing on the film. Even a line of orbs. Just so you know these static charges will appear bright with no definite border. The edges will be fuzzy. Like lines radiating from the center.

So don't be so quick about claiming that something paranormal has occurred when studying your photographs. It can more than likely be explained. If you do get a photo with a self illuminated orb showing movement, a bright border and with some structure inside (one of these anomalies or all of them) then you possibly have something that is paranormal. So look your evidence over very closely, think of all the things it could be, before declaring it paranormal.

Thoughts on EVPs

EVPs or electronic voice phenomenon are often put forward by many that there is truly another realm of existence on this world. In fact EVPs are highly controversial. One side maintains that they are the words or phrases from beyond the veil. They feel that EVPs are of paranormal origin. The other side maintains that there are natural explanations for the occurrence. Such explanations as pareidolia, apophenia or simple hoaxes. Pareidolia is interpreting random sounds as voices. Usually in the language of the listener. Apophenia is finding significance in insignificant phenomena. EVPs are commonly generated by increasing the gain on recording equipment. In other words increasing the sensitivity. This increase in white noises gives plenty of sources for the interpretation of this noise as voices. It is said by some that it is easy to find phrases or words in this noise. In other words pareidolia.

The mind has been trained from a baby to recognize patterns. So it makes sense that if you listen to white noise long enough you will make out patterns which sound like voices. Simple interference can also cause some one think they hear disembodied voices. An example of such interference could be the reflected transmissions from the ionized trails of meteors. Recording devices are required by regulation to accept interference.

I have definitely heard EVPs that are very convincing. They seam to be intelligent responses to the questions asked in the sessions. So are EVPs paranormal or is there a natural explanation for them. The choice is yours. As I have said ghost hunting is a matter of belief.

I feel that there is something to the paranormal origins of EVPs. My belief is that the veil is thin in places. and their are those on the other side who wish to influence us.

Quartz, Granite, Magnetite, Limestone and Water Theories

There is a lot of talk about certain mineral deposits and flowing water contributing to paranormal activity. Quartz, granite, magnetite and limestone are some deposits which are theorized to contribute to paranormal activity.

Quartz is thought to be important mainly because of its electrical properties. These Properties are what make quartz so valuable in the electronics industry, It also vibrates at a constant rate which makes it valuable in the time pieces that we have. The electrical properties exhibit themselves when quartz is under pressure. It is thought that ghosts can use the energy in the stone in their activities. Granite is mentioned because of its high concentration of quartz. Porcelain also has as one of its ingredients granite. Perhaps this is why porcelain dolls are often associated with haunted objects.

Magnetite is a common mineral and is a type of oxidized iron. It has magnetic properties and thus may be able to record activity and possibly be involved in a residual haunting. Playing back past events. Iron oxides are a main ingredient in magnetic tapes which do capture EVPs.

Limestone is a sedimentary mineral often associated with the decay of living organisms. Some feel there is less of a chance that this is really involved in paranormal activity. It can react with certain substances releasing energy. These are usually acids. It is thought that this allows it to store energy.

The idea behind water is that it has to be flowing. This flowing water releases energy which some feel that spirits can feed upon.

Remember this is all theory so take it for what it is worth.

Electromagnetic Fields and Detectors

To begin with you need to understand some things about electromagnetic fields or commonly called EMFs. First there are two types of fields. The first is an AC (alternating current) field. These fields are generated by man made objects, which run about 50 to 60Hz. These are sin waves. These waves are also vectored. In other words they have a direction. Second there are DC (direct current) fields. These are also sin waves and are directional. They are created by natural forces. These forces can be lightning or the fields generated by living organisms for example. Sharks can detect these fields. AC fields drop off very quickly as you move a way from the source as to DC fields. Though it must be said that the fields generated by lightning can be detected for up to 7 miles. The fields that we are concerned with in ghost hunting exists in the magnetic range of the spectrum and our measured in milligauss. You are looking for a reading in the range of 1.5 to 7 milligauss. Anything lower can be attributed to background readings and anything higher is suspect.

Now you have a basic understanding of what an EMF is. Now I would like to talk about some of the things that really bother me. They deal with all the talk of sensitivity to these fields and the misuse of detectors by the so called experts on the various paranormal shows. They give out a lot of misinformation. As far as sensitivity of people to electromagnetic fields there is no proof. The Institute of Environmental Health as reported 12 studies made on this subject. Only 1 suggested that there might be link and their conclusion was that this only meant that more study was needed. Also this talk of fear cages is absurd. As I stated above EMFs drop off very quickly. Holding a detector up against an electrical conduit or wire and announcing a fear cage has no merit. If you believe in sensitivity you need to measure the field near the level of your head or at the distance a person would be away from a source of field. Fields drop off quickly. A high reading near a conduit or wire can be at 0 near where a person would be. They won't be in a place to be exposed. Again I also said that studies do not support sensitivity to these fields. As far as other effects on the human body they can't prove any. Studies show effects on baboons and not adult people. I don't know about you, but I am certainly no baboon. Only in children is there some indication that these fields may be connected to a type of leukemia. Those doses have to pretty heavy a lot more than you find in a house. For your information these fields can be felt. When high enough they will cause the hairs on your body to vibrate at a high rate giving you that cobweb feeling or a feeling of being touched.

Next as far as detectors go there are all types out there, cheap and expensive. As I stated before these fields are directional. If your meter only has one sensor in it is very easy to get a false positive. You can be right on top of a field, but if you are holding the meter perpendicular to the field you will not detect it. Moving across a field with such a meter can cause a false positive as you detect it and suddenly no longer read it because you are no longer in line with it. If you have such a meter keep it moving in all directions so that you can confirm your reading. It is much better to have a meter that has a sensor for each of the 3 directions in 3 dimensional space. Such meters would include the Trifield meter or any of the more expensive meters. Even with these always scan the area to confirm your readings. Also be careful not to jar any meter so that you don't get a false positive.

Child Spirits

While on the subject of spirits and their types, I must say that there are no child spirits. Yes, children die but only the body and physical mind are that of children. All spirits who have gained a body came here after progressing as far as possible in the preexistence to this life. We had been raised to full maturity and proved our selves worthy to enter this mortal life to be tested. To grow through the steps of life; being an infant, being a child, being a teenager, an adult and growing into old age. The spirit may enter the body of an infant, progress through the stages of mortal development, but if that child dies before maturity, the spirit of that child would appear in its mature form.

Spirits or ghosts that appear in child form are one of two things. They are one a deception by evil spirits or demons. Two they are a residual haunting and not there at all. Just a recording of some past event playing back through the loop of time.

I know that some of you may not believe this. But, as I said ghost hunting is just as much religion as any other form of belief or cultural identity. Ghost hunting must be approached from our own spheres of influence to truly have meaning to each of us. Looked at in this light so that we may gain some understanding of what we experience.

Types of Spirits

This blog is about the types of spirits you may encounter while you hunt. The first issue to get out of the way is that there is no way to look at this without invoking religion. Regardless of people or other hunters may say ghost hunting itself is a Religion. I say this because religion provides us with explanations of the world around us. Explanations we can not quantify by the scientific method. Things that must be taken on faith. Such as the existence of spirits.

Now that said I'll get back to the main subject. First you must understand that all things were created spiritually before they were created temporally. So trees, animals, people and even the earth have spirits. So it might not be unheard of to encounter the spirit of a deceased pet or other animal that has lived. You may also encounter the spirits of people who have lived here on earth and are basically still trying to work out there lives. These are just people, with beliefs and desires just like you and me. They can be people who tried to do good or people who did evil. What ever attitude they possessed while in life is the attitude they possess in the spirit world. They can be good or bad. There is one other type of spirit you need to understand and that is the demon.

You must understand that there is not all these different types of entities out there as you here about from all the various groups. Entities such as elementals and other nature spirits or what ever name you wish to give them. There is only the one third of the hosts of heaven which rebelled and were cast out of heaven along with Lucifer. These individuals did not keep their first estate and were not aloud to come to this earth to get a body as we were. In other words they are one third of Gods children, our brothers and sisters, who fought against Gods plan for all of us. They are here following Lucifer, who was a son of God like us, working to bring us down with their deceptions and lies to their level of misery. People will tell you that you can always tell when there a demon around because of bad smells or they physically attack you. This can be true, but remember, the legions of Lucifer can appear as angels of light and deceive us.

It must be said that any attempt to use mediums, psychic, Ouija boards, dousing rods, pendulums or any other such devices to contact the other side, no matter how well intentioned, only attracts these evil spirits, whose desire it is to lead all of us down the path of loss by means of their deceptions. All these means open us up to their control and influence. We must never do anything which surrenders the control of our precious bodies to these spirits. Even the recorders used to record the unheard voices or EVPs should be considered with caution. These recorders may show evidence of the paranormal, but the origin of those voices or evidences must be suspect.

One quick word about angels since I have talked about demons. Angels are not special creations with wings as everyone would have you think. They are our brothers and sisters who have lived on this earth in mortality just as we do, have passed on and have been called to deliver needed messages from heaven. All the angels mentioned in the Bible had a mortal existence here on earth. They our children of our god, as us. They were obedient in their first estate, as us. They were born into mortality, as us. They lived lives in accordance with God's law. They then passed away. In many instances they have been resurrected in order to physically pass needed keys to us. Finally they were called of God to pass these messages to us. An angel is a messenger called of God.

With all the interest and hub bub about the after life and ghosts, people are always seeking to prove or disprove the existence of ghosts. Simply put, there is no proof. Even with all the TV shows like Ghost Hunters, Ghost Adventures and Paranormal State, to name a few, there is no proof. It is a large leap in logic to say that the evidence they present means there are spirits around us. It must be said that the belief in spirits is a matter of faith and can not be proved through any manner of technology or higher level of learning.
That said, it is my sincere belief that there are spirits all around us. Simply put the existence of spirits is a matter of faith and is a faith we are here on earth to develop. Every man, woman and child that ever lived on this earth is still here. They are only hidden from us by a veil. A veil which allows us to develop this faith. Should this veil be lifted we would see there spirits all around us.
This veil at times and places is thin and we get glimpses into the spirit world. Thus the origin of haunting s and the belief that ghosts exist.
