Heroin) coming into America. Also those legal drug dealing doctors supplying what has been come to be called Hill Billy Heroin; Oxycontin and other pain killers.

Let's put it on a ballet nation wide. Admit that prohibition on marijuana is a battle not worth fighting.

I think people need to take a long hard look at what kind of socialist candidate for president Newt Gingrich is and just what his presidency would mean to America. I told Jason aka JPerry that Newt Gingrich was trying to position himself for a 2012 presidential run over a year ago. Of course JPerry said I was wrong that Mitt Romney or what I like to call him Mitt Flip Flop Romney because of the fishy smell. I told J that Newt would carry South Carolina because my state will elect nasty any day over good (Full of Racist) and I thought he was going to carry Florida the sunshine state, I was wrong Florida has too much of a diverse of a population.

Newt is now still looking for the Dirty South to put him in the White House. Let’s hope he will continue dreaming.

Newt Gingrich is in my opinion a separatist Georgia Cracker that is trying to run for president using the name Ronald Reagan. If no one has said it yet Newt Gingrich is not Ronald Reagan. Just like Dan Quail is not Kennedy. He needs to stop using President Reagan’s name like it is a wash cloth to wash the dirt off his own ass and his want-a-be first lady.

I was asked what I thought about America’s Drug War by Ken aka kenmoorecowboypoet who has chosen to leave GP. Well Ken here I go with my opinion on the drug war if you take the time to look back at the good poets here on GP and it gives me the chance to stick another pin in my voodoo Newt doll.

I think one of the great problems we have in the Republican Party is that we don't encourage you to be nasty. We encourage you to be neat, obedient, loyal and faithful and all those Boy Scout words, which would be great around a campfire but are lousy in politics. Newt Gingrich.

Of course, mandatory testing means that everyone is a suspect and everyone must submit. Aren't these the same right-wingers who are complaining loudly that Obama's supposed "socialism" is all about taking away our rights and enslaving us in a totalitarian state with socialist rehab?

“I think that we need to consider taking more explicit steps to make it expensive to be a drug user. It could be through testing before you get any kind of federal aid. Unemployment compensation, food stamps, you name it. Newt Gingrich

Just thought you would like to know what is on the mind of a Newt all you citizens.

Newt Gingrich, introduce H.R. 4170 (Drug Importer Death Penalty Act of 1996) to the House of Representatives, which sought to “provide a sentence of death for certain importations of significant quantities of controlled substances”. This included Marijuana in the amount of only 2 ounces.

“I think Jefferson or George Washington would have rather strongly discouraged you from growing marijuana and their techniques with dealing with it would have been rather more violent than our current government,” Gingrich

George Washington, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, James Monroe, and many other Founding Fathers and their contemporaries were hemp farmers. Far from discouraging its cultivation, the early presidents demanded its cultivation:

“Make the most of the Indian Hemp Seed and sow it everywhere!” – George Washington
“We shall, by and by, want a world of hemp more for our own consumption.” – John Adams
“Hemp is of first necessity to the wealth & protection of the country.” – Thomas Jefferson

No! Newt the founding fathers were not growing Hemp just to make rope. If you had said to them that you wanted to enact prohibition on hemp (marijuana) they would have strong you up on one of those hemp ropes, snapped your neck and had a party smoking some of those fine buds, while you dangled there after you quite kicking.

“The artificial preparation of hemp, from Silesia, is really a curiosity.” – George Washington (referring to hashish, used only as a drug)
“…began to separate the male from the female (hemp) plants,” – George Washington’s farm diary (one reason to separate males from females to get more potent buds)

I know this must be surprising to some that our founding father would partake in a leisurely smoke of pot. Does this mean that our country was founded by potheads; no it does not. The use of any substance can be call an addiction. Hell the way some of the people look here in America we should put prohibition on donuts.

Face it people prohibition on anything only makes evil men rich. BWP...

Annual American causes of death.

Tobacco 430,700 Deaths
Alcohol 110,640 Deaths
Prescription 32,000 Deaths and on the rise.
Suicide 30,575 Deaths
Homicide 18,272 Deaths
Over the counter drugs such as Aspirin 7,600
Drug induced 16,926 Deaths…. (Prescription narcotic overdoses, preventable drug-induced deaths have risen steadily in the U.S.)
In fact, by 2006, overdoses of opioid analgesics alone (a class of pain relievers that includes morphine and methadone) were already causing more deaths than overdoses of cocaine and heroin combined. Prescription drugs over take cocaine and heroin making your own doctor more dangerous to society than illegal drug dealers, maybe they should be put to death.
Marijuana related deaths….. 0 Deaths

______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

There is one Marijuana arrest every 37 seconds in America.
89% of Marijuana arrest is for simple possession.
More Marijuana arrest than for all violent crimes combines.

Support the ending marijuana prohibition. Say no to the wasteful war on marijuana. Tell the federal government to let states make their own laws where it comes to the possession, medical use and cultivation of marijuana as a taxable agricultural product. What we do as individual citizen to say stop the war on marijuana prohibitions is in our hands. We all can sit back and do nothing or we can make a stand. The US Postal Service is in need of finances so let us give them some. There are 16 million or more American recreational pot smokers. Out of those millions of pot smokers 269,420 are medical Marijuana patients, the highest number in the state of California with 202,416 coming in second is the state of Washington with 35.510 medical Marijuana patients.

I don’t know if you know it or not but that adds up to a lot of stamps to Representatives and the White House. So let us put our stamps on those envelopes and our money where our mouths are and flood Washington. Let them know that marijuana smokers should not be looked upon as criminals we are voters. 17.6 million adults in the United States are alcoholics, we are not alcoholics and we are not killing people. Prohibition on Marijuana and your drug war is killing people, on the street and in your prisons. Make Marijuana a legal taxable crop in America.

On April 29, 2006, the Congress of Mexico passed a bill decriminalizing possession of small amounts of drugs intended for recreational use (up to 5g for marijuana).[27] The new bill was hoped to relieve cartel-related crime as well as reduce drug-related arrests. A possibly unintended consequence would have been increased tourism. The move caused many in the US government to question Mexico's commitment to the "War on Drugs". However, President Fox sent the legislation back, asking that the decriminalization be removed.

This action showed the U.S. government's influence over the Mexican Government's decisions, sparking broad controversy over the bill. On October 14, 2008 a bill was proposed in Mexico City's Congress to legalize the consumption, possession and commerce of Marijuana. The bill states that only a person over 18 can have access to the drug, the places where marijuana is sold cannot also sell alcoholic drinks, and must be at least 1000 meters away from schools[citation needed]. The Government would issue special licenses for the distribution of marijuana in special places, similar to the legislation in the Netherlands.

On August 21, 2009, Mexico decriminalized "personal use" possession of up to 5 grams of marijuana

I was out of the country.

My friend Mary said that when a person loses their last parent they become untethered. I've thought about this. I do feel untethered. My housekeeper has refused to leave for the past week. She says I don't know how much I need her. I don't, but I am so grateful that she has been in the next room from me, that she has gone to my daughter in the night when I couldn't, that she has forced me into the shower when I stank.

There is nothing good about losing one's last parent. Nothing.

The man behind me at the supermarket checkout had a kind face. We smiled at each other and I noticed the angel pin on his collar. When I complimented him on it he said, "There's a story that goes with that." "Oh, please tell me," I said, "I love stories." Doesn't everyone? I find that listening to people's stories—and everyone has some—to be very entertaining, and sometimes even valuable to me later on.

"After my wife died," he began, "my daughter came and took all of her collection of angel pins. Then later that day I lifted up the cloth on the bedside table and there underneath it was this pin. I guess she wanted me to have it." His face curved around his smile in a way that warmed my heart. "I wear it every day," he went on. "How wonderful," I said. "Thank you for sharing your story." Then it was my turn to be rung up and I had to pay attention to that.

There is a legend to the effect that angels in disguise are everywhere to be found. I'm not so sure they're in disguise. The helpful clerk who retrieved my keys, was an angel, so was the nice person that wrote down license plate of the vehicle that dented my car. I could go on and on with examples from my own experience. Practically everyone can do that, just ask. When we start to look for them, we realize angels really are everywhere.

They don't necessarily have halos or wings, however they do come bearing messages of love. When I feel helped and cared for, I feel loved. When one of God's messengers shows up in my life I am ever so grateful. There are even times I get to play angel myself, and that is the best of all. How fine it is to know that angels are everywhere, all I need do is look. Angels confirm my strong belief that wherever I am, whatever is happening, I am safe in the arms of love and all is well.

May you enjoy the presence of your angels and may you feel their love.

In this case, I’m looking at the video for Angel of Valentine Days and Nights . The way the digital art blends with the words makes me a little speechless because it’s not something I imagined when first writing the poem.

But someone told me a long time ago that poetry takes on a life of its own, and once that happens a lot of things become possible. To check it out and enjoy a Valentine’s Day treat please click this link: http://www.youtube.com/v/zmr7Q2bzlg4

************************************************************
I am so tired and bleary eyed
So fucking tired I am asleep inside
Get behind the wheel just like a drunk
Mostly because I never sleep enough
So damn frustrating
This insomniac state
Hit snooze so many times
Once again I am late
Kick start my day
With a red bull hand
Now I can handle this shit
More than most can withstand
Get through the day
Just to do it again
When it’s over I call my best friend
Spend a little time contemplating
Getting past my own complaining
End the conversation on a hopeful note
Maybe tonight I can get some rest
Otherwise this could be all I wrote……
