I decided to use the super cute Clothesline Greetings Appetizer Set for my card today. Instead of leaving them on the clothesline, I actually trimmed each design, paper pieced them, and then added them to adorable coat hanger brads for a new look on the image!

Jingle Out!

With Mother’s Day less than a week away, I’m hoping you’ve got your cards all finished, into envelopes and ready to be delivered!  Have you thought about your Father’s Day cards yet?  There are some really fabulous samples in the GRS gallery using our recently released appetizer set, Daddy-O!

My Daddy-O card is loosely based on Kelli’s sketch (see her post below and play along!).  Because I will be mailing mine, I stuck with traditional A2 size.  I really wanted to use this masculine paisley “tie” print, but  because it would’ve competed with the array of stamped ties (the defining element of the sketch) I opted to cover only the top 1/3 of my card with designer paper.

It’s nice to add a few subtle little details to your masculine cards, especially when the guys prefer that you keep things simple and not too frou frou.  Nothing fancy like a bow!  LOL!  I figured I could get away with a little bling in this case, since as king of the castle (and probably also of the remote control!) Dad deserves a jeweled, sparkling gold crown!  I added just a touch of Spica sparkle to the ties to make them look satiny, and even gave Dad’s chin a bit of a 5 o’clock shadow, too!

I am so very blessed to still have both of my parents…my heart goes out to you if you no longer have yours.  I hope you will consider making a Mother’s Day or Father’s Day card for one of the single parents out there!  IMHO, parenting is the best, most rewarding, longest and hardest job there is!

My creation features the new Appetizer set Cupcakes and Candles. I had this adorable cupcake ribbon forever and decided to bust it out and use it for this card! Plus a little perfect pearl to make the perfect cherry on top for that Gourmet Rubber Stamps feel! Hope you all have a fabulous day!!
