The Fête de La Musique held in Melville in 2012 was celebrated by more than 4,000 people and was one of the first events of the France-South Africa Seasons 2012 & 2013. Surely Mzansi this is the day we've been waiting for? After Ntando Bangani nowhere to be seen or heard after he left TS Records in 2007 with the late Brown Dash (Who also died without a dime in his pocket according to Sunday World), no radio airplay, no telly interviews that followed after!

We ran a story that there were rumours that TS Records, owned by DJ Sbu and TK Nciza blacklisted the musician... It was also alleged that they attempted to bribe a certain music compiler at uMhlobo Wenene FM not to play Ntando's music but he refused according to our source then, because he and Ntando are friends before fame!

Now the question is, are we going to hear Ntando's music on radio now? Are we going to see Ntando on TV now? If yes, what will this say about the allegations of blacklisting? Might be that they were true? Is TS Records going to unlock the CHAINS of suffering now?

After listening to her album, watching her live DVD and all her other live performances I could get my hands on, I can safely say I have reached my opinion and concluded that Zahara the (Loliwe) hit maker is really not that great of a singer. As harsh as it may sound, it remains as a fact, opened up to be debated upon. On the studio album she sounds beautiful but still average.

(One of the norms South Africans have adopted. We tend to accept 'average'). Vocally Zahara cannot be measured up against the likes of Thandiswa Mazwai, Simphiwe Dana and Kelly Khumalo; our 21st century Divas. The great thing about Zahara she is a musician that is gifted in lyrical interpretation, her songs relate to many people’s situation, making her songs a great listen and sing along tunes, as they speak about our current situations. Watching her and listening to her perform live you will clearly hear that her vocal abilities are not that great, 'she's certainly not an idol winner'.

M-Net announced that its proudly local brand, Mzansi Magic, will produce another South African edition of Big Brother, and this time the show will aptly be called Big Brother Mzansi.

Paris - French Open champion, Rafa Nadal has apologised for falsely tweeting the death of Nelson Mandela to his 4.5 million followers.

The Telegraph's website reports that the Spaniard tweeted:

"(sic)Today we have lost one of the most important and relevant people in our world. Rest in peace #NelsonMandela."

Last week the estranged wife of the late Morning Live presenter Vuyo Mbuli showed her workers the door, and the workers are now taking her to the CCMA!

The Sunday Sun reported today that Vuyo's 10 staff members stormed to the Council for Conciliation Mediation and Arbitration offices to lodge a formal complaint of unfair retrenchment against the widow of Vuyo Mbuli.

The weekend paper further reported that Savita will soon be booked to attend the hearing at the CCMA.

A CCMA official who according to the paper refused to be named was quoted as saying, "We will be capturing their details next week. We will also start with a formal process to mediate between parties. If that fails, we will go for arbitration. At some point, MRS Mbuli will have to come in person.

Johannesburg - Former president Nelson Mandela's medical condition was "serious this time", presidential spokesperson Mac Maharaj says.

The 94-year-old anti-apartheid hero and the country's first black president was taken to hospital early on Saturday for a recurring lung infection.

"The situation is serious this time but doctors have assured us he is comfortable," the presidential spokesperson told television station eNCA.

The producers of a new reality TV series are looking for contestants between the ages of 15 and 18 who have either failed a school grade or didn’t qualify for tertiary education. This reality series, based on Jamie’s Dream School (a UK TV series presented by Jamie Oliver), will provide a second chance for young learners who want to reignite their passion for education.

The two-week special school offers a unique educational experience, with lessons taught by about a dozen high-profile, successful South Africans. Some learners who successfully complete the course at Dream School SA will be given a bursary to enable them to return to school for matric or to enroll at a tertiary education institution.
