I have read 10+ books by Ava Miles, and loved every one! She has a way of telling a story that feels me with such emotion. I smile, laugh out loud, and cry multiple times while reading each new book. I think the Dare Valley Meets Paris mini series may be my favorite story so far! I had such a hard time putting it down to accomplish my daily activities. I loved the characters, the way mythology was woven into the story, and the Harry Potter references. Great book/mini-series!

I’m mortified to say a friend recommended this book to me. My first extreme disturbance happened at the foreword where McNaught very nonchalantly and unnecessarily mentioned that she had named her main characters after her two children. I couldn’t no matter how much I tried—and boy did I try—to shake off and get past the feeling that she’s using her children’s names to describe people who would eventually have violent sex. Speaking of violence, I don’t understand how or why anyone would find Clayton’s predatory behavior okay let alone romantic!! This character is as if modeled after a psychopath! Yes, I understand there are certain “aggressive” tendencies that make for hot romance but not in this case. He is a predator and a stalker. There’s no two ways about it. And that first kissing scene had my skin crawling with the rape-y undertone. Actually now that I think about it, EVERY male in this book is a sex offender save for uncle Edward. The only reason I kept on reading this book was because I paid for it but even my own spent money can’t get me to finish it. Dropped right after the first kissing scene. Extremely disappointing and not worth you dollar.

This is by far my favorite book! I love the story telling structure and how after you finished reading there are no loose ends to anything that happens in the story. I felt the emotions the characters were having as my own! That’s how deep I was into this book.

It was a wonderful experience reading the fast-paced, exciting and great dialogue of the many interesting characters in this book. It was so easy getting lost in the storms of desire, intrigue and worlds of Paris and England society. The author’s use of words to pull the reader into this exceptional book is worth every moment of reading it-thank you Judith McNaught for this adventure 🥰

The early stages of this book ruined it for me, I almost couldn’t finish the book. So many issues, just plain annoying. I literally just forced myself to finish this book and it got worse and even more worse as the book progressed. I could not bring myself to actually like the hero, he was a terrible person, there was nothing, absolutely nothing to love about him. Judith McNaught is a splendid storyteller but this book is just absurd. once again, for the love of God, stop calling romantic interests or heroines or whatever “little one”. It’s in no way romantic or endearing!! It just reeks of paedophilia.

Miscommunication galore

I love Judith McNaught. I love the way she writes, I love the language she uses, and I especially love her historical romances. I’ve been rereading her novels and decided to read the Westmoreland series in order. Kingdom of Dreams is fantastic...Whitney, My Love had me wanting to tear my hair out at some points and I actually cheered out loud when Whitney left Claymore at one point. There is severe miscommunication, things that could easily be resolved with a short conversation that never happens. This leads to Clayton raping her...yes raping her at one point, and she takes him back, only for him to make a another dumb assumption and abandon her while she is pregnant. For me, I’m fine with a dominant hero...but punishing a woman with sex (when she doesn’t understand what is happening) and stealing her virginity all because of a simple miscommunication left me cringing. The story is long and it’s a rollercoaster. And there should be a trigger warning. Two stars for Judith’s writing...but that’s about it.

I love Judith mcnaught so much. I have read every book of hers and this will always be my favourite one. This book will make you feel like your in another world and you won't be able to put it down. I can't put into words how obsessed I am with the Judith mcnaught but her books kept me sane somehow and they still do. She is my hero honestly I love her and I haven't met anyone that has a read a book of hers and hasn't loved it as much as I do.

I read this book so many years ago as a paperback. So you can imagine my surprise when it showed up one day under my recommendations as an ebook. All these years later and this book is still one of my favorites!

This is my first book by Judith McNaught and wow, so not my last. Just finished Kingdom of dreams and it was just as good as this one. So, yeah read that one too. There are a lot of misunderstandings and angst in this book. (My favorite) So many that I said "really?" at one point. I actually wasn't sure who Whitney was going to end up with in the end and that is amazing for a romance novel. The suspense of who she would choose was what ultimately kept me awake three nights ago. Didn't go to sleep until 6:00 am. Clay seems to have trust issues for some reason that is not explained. He's a great character with a few flaws. (Nobody is perfect) Whitney is wonderful, head strong and stubborn and oh so funny. Also insecure. Most of the secondary characters were funny, nasty or charming and added a lot to the story. Highly recommend this book. It's got so much more than the typical romance books. Very refreshing way of story telling, suspenseful and intriguing. Highly recommend this author.

I read this book in hard copy, along with many of her other books over 10, maybe 15 years ago. Since then I have read over 3000 books...and still consider this an all time favorite! It is long and their love story is often times frustrating, just like real life. The tolerant, yet dangerously passionate Clayton, is a man every woman dreams of. He laughs at her antics, but loves her fierce independent streak. When I saw her books available on iTunes, I was like a kid at Christmas! I plan on reading them ALL again digitally. They make the short books today seem weak and watered-down. It could only be better if she came out with a new book with spicy love seems...I'm a grown up now and love the erotica!

I found this book to be repetitive and the characters immature and insecure. Though out the book I kept saying: "not again, really, come on, and have you learned nothing”. I didn’t even finish reading it after the last misunderstanding over her pregnancy. Because the book is so long, I waist practically a whole day.

Normally I don’t enjoy a change of character every chapter, however this worked well as the chapters were relatively short & succinct without loss of the effective build up. Could it be any suburban street ? Certainly makes the story line more realistic & relatable. In essence, a light, very readable novel by another Aussie author being recognized by publishers.

Nathan Parrish is all grown up!

I fell in love with Nathan Parrish in When Daisy's Back in Town. He was a moody teenager not happy with moving to a new place then and now he's all grown up. I can't tell you how excited I was when I found out he was getting his own story. I would've loved to have read a full length novel about him, but I'm happy with this novella as opposed to just wondering about him. I liked Becca. She's fresh, determined to succeed, and a good friend. I loved her attitude towards life. She's also got a bubbly personality. I will admit to swooning, just like her, when she saw Nathan for the first time. I liked Nathan. He was easy going and someone who had a good head on his shoulders for the most part. Becca and Nathan had great chemistry. You could feel it and I loved it. It was attraction at first sight. Of course that's something known to strike Parrish men. My only issue with the story was that I didn't agree with some of Nathan's decisions even if I understood his rationale in handling things differently. He did end up causing problems for himself and others around him. I didn't like seeing and feeling the fall out of what happened. While I enjoyed reading the story, what Nathan did throw me. I would've never thought in a million years Nathan would hurt someone like he did. Especially since I know how and who he was raised by. I've read and absolutely loved the other books in this series. I'm glad to see everyone still going strong. Rachel Gibson has written a fine story with some surprises I don't think any of her readers saw coming. I do hope to read more about Becca and Nathan in the future.

The first I have read by this author, or of this series I was able to get a recap of earlier matches all wrapped up with a short and quick new match for Nathan and Becca. Rachel Gibson’s writing is clever and pithy, interactions are well written and quick introductions and backstory gives readers a sense of the characters that enhances their appearance. Not having known the story or characters, the business of the early half of the story made some of the comings and goings feel rushed, although their connections are present and palpable in their interactions. For his part, Nathan is trying to repair a ‘bad boy’ reputation, particularly with Becca. He lost a few points from me with his not quite ‘clearing his decks’ with the current girlfriend before moving on to pursue Becca. I will give back a point for actually ‘feeling bad’ about it – but the whole questionable decisions on his part is there and did give me pause. Overall though, for a novella, the quick romance between Becca and Nate and the other happy relationships, a wedding and a new baby. Their relationship developed and blossomed quickly, while I won’t say “too” quickly, I do wish we had more time with them as they formulated their bond. It was a fun read nonetheless, and I think those who have read this series from the beginning will adore this installment.
