Man, this time last year....my entire life was different. Soo different! This year has been filled with disappointment, change....and the OFFICIAL end of a relationship that lasted a decade of my life (since I was 19!).

If my life was EAT, PRAY, LOVE (the book, not the movie)....I was at eat for the last 9 months, clothes stopped fitting....hence the no blogging. I've made my way to pray.... Dear Jesus, please get me to love swiftly, thank you. SEE!

Okay, because we have all cried enough....let's get back to the retail therapy that has gotten me through this tough time.

I miss my blog so much, I was too embarrassed to come back...its like I don't even know her anymore.

A whole lot has happened, stuff that has no business being on this blog...sooooo, we rejoice in the fun stuff...

Here is the update:

-I moved (I love it, I walk everywhere...honolulu is not pedestrian friendly, so pray for me).

-My job has been so busy, and I am salary...NEED I SAY MORE!

-And finally, a new little project on top of my regular job called CRAVE happened. Do it in your city, its amazingness. A book that compiles 125 women that you need to know...business owners, socialites, bloggers, community service activists...I am putting together CRAVE HAWAII. Sooo Fun!

-I became an aunt for the second time...penny. If she doesn't stop wars I don't know what will!

Black is my go to color, always...every so often I hear my mothers voice (insert arab accent here, roll the r's and extend the letters) "why do you only wear blllack?, you need to wear colllarr or you will be deeprressed" So I throw in some color to appease her.

So I am at this event and this kid (and by kid I mean 28 yr old man) says to me he wants to kick me because I stand with my legs open.. spread out...I was like ugh, what a douche. Then I was blogging and realized #crap...I do!

In my defense, I find myself to be lady like, I don't sit with my legs open or anything...i've never been a tom boy...hrrmmm, interesting.

I have my wedding dress and it sits in the closet. My daughter (if I have one) won't wanna wear it...saving it for what?! I decided I want to do a TTD (Trash The Dress) photo shoot. So I was searching ideas...cuz, you only one get one shot right?!

Its my 100th post...I feel like balloons are in order...but balloons scare me.

I haven't blogged in the longest, no good excuse...just the usual, uninspired, feeling too fat to take pictures, really busy with work...and just plain old lazy. But I do love this blog, I love reading blogs...so I won't let myself give up. Can't stop, won't stop.

Okay, I know that I shouldn't make jokes, and yes, Im thankful everyone is safe...but it was a bit of chaos for no reason.

We decided just to be safe we should at least have snacks...they were saying get 7 days worth of food and water, but I kept thinking; what would I want to eat for 7 days. The stores were crazy...look at all the empty shelves, I don't even know what the shelf was stocked with originally...but whatever it was, I wanted some, it was clearly a necessity.

It was really funny to see what people really did consider a necessity...I saw carts full of beer, pringles, and or course spam...huge bags of rice.

You know when you are checking out at F21, those bins always get me...as I am waiting, I start digging and walk away with more tights, leg warmers (no use in hawaii), and other random accessories. These were one of my random F21 last minute buys....lace gloves.

Remember buying those heart best friend necklaces, each friend wore half the heart....these were our best friend gloves.

I mean they were only $3.50, how could you resist.

Real Gift

My mom sends me care packages, she has since I was in college...and they always have the most random things. I figured she walks around the house and throws things into a box every few weeks...I'd get stuffed animals, old magazines, stress balls...random pieces of candy, spice packets, pens, wallet calendars, and then a "real gift"...(don't tell my mom, I always liked the random things the best...I love when things make me go...WTH?!).

This is my most recent care package "real gift". I can't say I have a signature scent, I spray on whatever is closest to me (as I typed that, I seriously reached into my drawer and sprayed something on...) but I'm loving this one...

sorry, the mirror is dusty...but you get the idea.

It's such an amazing love that a mother and child have...without sounding like an after school special...I can't wait to love someone that much, that unconditionally....its okay I'm 28, I am allowed to feel that way.

Some of my favorite blogs to read are those that give us more than just fashion. First I'm envious that they have time to be fabulous and domestic all at the same time...and second that they even have the skills to cook.

A tidbit about me, I don't follow rules/directions very well, whether its driving, dress codes, tardiness...or baking...I read the directions and then I think to myself "no...that can't be...I can do it better" ...

So I baked...what you are about to see is all real sadly...can we just have a moment of silence for my future children, who will no doubt require me to bake for one of their school functions.

Pistachio Cake: Should be easy right...I mean its a box cake with box jello and 7up. How much easier can it be....just wait.

First we realized we didn't have cooking oil, I guess you can sub olive oil...well we did.

Side note: my friend is gorgeous, except..we have both agreed she has man hands, she is okay with it and so is her hubby. I stay her friend.

So, cake needs to cool, I get that concept, but I mean...what do you do the hour it cools...we talked, we laughed, we waited....15 minutes passed and I was like, lets ice it...I can't wait any longer. Warm Cake + pistachio cool whip = blob

how do you fix a blob cake...ummm crushed pistachios of course.

I didn't taste it, but I heard it was good. And no one was poisoned...if thats not a success I don't know what is.

Living in Honolulu, I can honestly say I have met some of the most talented and motivated people ever. From musicians and artists to fashion and jewelry designers, there is definitely something in Hawaii that keeps everyone inspired.

One of my best friends designs some of the most beautiful jewelry ever, each piece is timeless, sophisticated and feminine, just like her. While her day job keeps her extremely busy, she has put together a small collection AGENT LOLA.

Weekend Casual

My work schedule is kind of weird, during the day I'm in the office prepping for events, doing marketing and whatever else comes my way...then at night the events begin. Needless to say I spend much of my nights on my feet. I wear heels all day and into the night, so you can imagine when I get home, I'm usually in pain. Lots of clients and co-workers comment on me being in heels regularly...so I try to mix it up with high wedges (I consider wedges and 3 inch heels, flats).

I realized when I was getting dressed for the Sony Open (Golf) that I have no actual comfortable flats...I was in a Lacoste sweater, khaki skirt and I had nothing to match...I wore black wedges (photos to come), but I decided it was time for me to invest in comfortable yet cute weekend shoes. And flip flops (aka slippers here in Hawaii) don't count.

I have a pair of chucks...but I really think they look ridiculous on my feet...they are long looking...I feel like a duck.

So I bought a pair of Vans (I remember in 6th and 7th grade having Vans in every color)

You know what's ironic...when you are young, you don't have the money to travel properly..and when you finally have money, you are committed to a job and can't travel, at least not for long periods...This year, Im leaving the country (and not to Mexico or Canada). I want to travel somewhere different, unique...full of inspiration and history...I just want to get away. I hate that mini little troubles influence and affect other parts of my life...I want to be the girl that can separate things, that can get lost in work when my personal life is in shambles and can find comfort at home when work isn't going so well. Instead my worlds seem to collide so much...
