Have you ever been to a desert where there's pure barrenness and all you see are camels and cactus? I want to go to such places as a means of deviating myself from stress. I want to experience something natural. I don't care if there are many sands and there are just few choices to see around, I still want to experience being in a desert!

I have heard of aviano desert ridge and I've heard it's an amazing please. It's a perfect place for getaways because the place will really bring you back to nature. You can go there with your family or friends. But if you want to have a solitary time to free yourself from the world, you can go there all by yourself and it will definitely give you a soothing place to relax.

From time to time, it's good to deviate ourselves from the wor;dly place and go back to nature once again!

Well, if given an opportunity, I would proudly say that my parents are the GREATEST LIVING FILIPINO because they did everything just to raise me. There are times that our family had no single cent in our pockets but they managed to give us food to eat three times a day. Indeed, they are the greatest living filipino for me and no one can change that. :)

Good day! Today, I'm going to blog about Web-based consumers services and Business websites. I have here two examples for you to better understand what those two types of websites are. Isohunt and OnSale are two popular websites on the web but they differ in the services that they give to their visitors.

IsoHunt.com and OnSale.com: Which is which?

Let's start!

1. Isohunt: a Web-based Service Website

Isohunt is a bitTorrent search engine for peer-to-peer (P2P) sharing. It is just like a typical search engine (eg. Google) but the results are filtered for it will only show searches that are filed as torrents. On isoHunt Lite you get ranking by constantly updated seeds/leechers and ratings, statistics specific for BitTorrent, in addition to search relevancy and age. It allows the users to type in keywords that best suits what they are looking for and in return, shows the torrents that are more likely the users are searching for. The website also provides the users a chat box where they can interact with one another. This is also a way for them to stay longer on the page and increase their satisfaction rate.

The viewers pay them through the use of keywords. Because of this, Isohunt will know what are the most searched torrents or what torrents are still not available but has many searches. The website also let the users contribute to the Isohunt community wherein they could post their own torrents so other users can use them. Through this, the users help the website improve.

In addition, Isohunt makes money through the advertisement spaces on the left and right side of the website where advertisers may choose where would they want their advertisement to be placed. Since the target visitors of this website is the general public (because all people who are very much active online could all be searching for torrents), the advertisements are not filtered and can be about everything under the sun. There is also a donation button at the right side of the site wherein anyone can donate for the betterment of the site.

2. OnSale: an Business (E-commerce) Website

OnSale is one great example of an e-commerce website. E-commerce websites are those that doesn't need human intervention. By just looking at its interface, you will immediately know that this is a website made for people who are searching and planning to by computers, electronic gadgets and other IT accessories.

E-commerce websites have these common design element of having products flashed with big prices and the button "check-out now" or "shop now!" Through this huge buttons and prices, it is able to encourage customers to buy immediately.

It has a simple layout which makes it easy for the visitors to browse at the site. There are also a lot of up selling for the buyers for them to have a lot of options where to find their desired products. And also, there are suggestions if ever they also want to purchase more items. This is a way to increase the buyer's satisfaction rate. There is also the use of social networking sites and bookmarking sites to promote OnSale.com. There are no advertisements on this page so we will therefore assume that the website has only one way of making money and this is through the commission they get from the products they sell.

Yan ang dahilan kung bakit parang sako na ng graba ang eyebag ko ngayon. Hindi na siya bag. SAKO NA SIYA. EYE SUCK. este EYE SACK.

Kung saan ko namana ang kaadikan kong ito sa kape? Saan pa kundi sa tatay kong laging nagpapatimpla sa akin. Siya ang unang nagpatikim sa akin ng linamnam ng kape. Kaya siya ang dapat kong sisihin ngayon sa pagkalaki ng eye sack ko. Epic fail.

Pero hindi, wala akong dapat sisihin kundi ang sarili ko. Ako ang gumagawa ng sarili kong buhay. Hindi naman sinabi ng tatay ko na uminom ako ng sandamakmak na kape. Ang sinabi niya lang ipagtimpla ko siya. Ako ang nagtulak sa sarili kong uminom nang uminom nito. Kaya wala akong ibang dapat sisihin kundi ang sarili ko. Ganyan naman tayong mga tao eh. Mahilig manisi sa ibang tao ng mga bagay na tayo mismo ang may gawa. Takot tayo sa sarili nating multo.

Wala tayong ibang sisihin sa mga bagay na nangyari satin kundi ang sarili natin. Ang ibang tao, andyan lang para magpayo at sumuporta. Pero tayo pa rin ang magdedesisyon para sa sarili natin.

Tulad ng kape. Andiyan lang yan para inumin at magbigay ng linamnam sa panlasa. Pero ikaw mismo ang magdedesisyon kung ilang baso ang iinumin mo.

A Letter to My Old Blog

Dear tinkiiwinkii,

I miss you my old blog. I know we've been through a lot of circumstances (see the older posts for the evidences). You were the only one I could talk to. Instead of saying bad things to people, I wrote my feelings here so as not to hurt others. I had you at my weakest moment but then, I felt I had betrayed you just because I got blinded by the domainssss and the wordpress platforms. But even though I have four domains now which are coffeehearts.net, shopwithus.biz, dailyblitz.info and theladypoet.info, my life seems so incomplete. I think it's because I was "karmarized"(if there's such a word. Silly me.) by the thing of abandoning you. I'm really really sorry because I had to earn money and you're unfortunately rejected by the sponsored sites. That time, I was so disappointed because you had a page rank of 3 and was rejected by Review Me. Curse that SP site. But I still wish that you would be accepted and together we will earn money. Blair: [sighs] After being broken up with my boyfriend for exactly twenty minutes, I succumbed to inebriation, performed at a Speak-Easy, and surrendered my virtue to a self-absorbed ass. The only good news is that he's a total pig who'll act like it never happened, thank God.
Priest: Ahem.
Blair: Sorry. Truthfully, I'm not even Catholic.
Priest: [sarcastically] You don't say?
Blair: But losing my virginity to Chuck Bass? None of my friends will ever understand. I'm ready for my punishment. Whatever you and God think is fair. Flogging, fasting, putting that thing with the teeth around my thigh like Silas.
Priest: How about some food for thought instead? Don't drink, keep your clothes on, try avoiding those who might cause you to stray.

Annual Eucharistic Procession

Being a school believing in Opus Dei, it's a tradition for us to have the annual Eucharistic Procession. It starts at our school's chapel, Stella Orientis. After that, there will be a procession lead by the head priest holding the Eucharistic cross. Since I'm now a sophomore student at University of Asia and the Pacific, I have witnessed the procession twice. But during my freshman year, I wasn't able to join the procession. I was just a spectator way back then. Hehe.

But what I love most about the procession are the flower petals being arranged as letters and figures. Here are some of them. :D

2012, Is It Really the End of the World?

Last night, after my Biology Laboratory class which normally cuts off at 12pm, I and my love decided to watch 2012. Yes, I know it's really late to watch this film because it has been shown in the movie theaters for weeks now but we just gave it a try.

In the movie, I adored the black guy, Chiwetel Ejiofor.

I was really struck by what he said when the officials don't want to let the people outside enter the ship because they really lack time. He said, "Humanity means to care for each other and Civilization means to work together. If that's the case, there's nothing human and civilized with what we're doing." Yes, I really memorized his line because it made an impact for me. I was deeply touched by that line.

All in all, I may say that the effects was great. It really made me feel that I'm in the movie. Only, there are some incongruities found. One was when the White House was about to fall. It was shown that it had lights inside when I think, if that's the current scenario, power supply will automatically be cut-off.

I love the movie. It makes us all think the "What if" question. What if 2012 will really be the end of the world? And I want to end my post by saying what the priest had told in his sermon last Sunday. "Please watch 2012, I greatly recommend it". It's something to think about. Why would a priest recommend 2012? Is it really in the Bible? It's for us to ponder on.

Sometimes in love, we get hurt and get a wound so deep. Always, they say, it happens sometimes. But I don't think getting hurt in love only happens sometimes. For me, once you've loved a person, you'll get hurt ALWAYS as long as there's care and concern for that person. This is because it's human nature that we search for love. And no matter how many times they say that if we love, we should not expect anything in return, we will always EXPECT something in return of our love. And once that person we love start not to care about us, that's the time we start getting hurt. There's no one to blame if we expect something from the one we love because from the very start, they've shown us ultimate care. We get used to it, we carry it on in our lives everyday and once the CHANGE starts, we should also not blame anyone, not even ourselves. For we only loved. We only loved.

But 9-year-old Jayla Cooper didn’t have a lifetime to wait for Mr. Right. The Southlake, TX, girl had been battling leukemia for two years, a battle that would end in just a matter of weeks. But what Jayla did have was a groom. He’s her best friend, Jose Griggs, 7, a fellow patient at Children’s Medical Center in Dallas. Jayla and Jose tied the knot in February 2009 to fulfill her final wish: Getting married in a beautiful wedding, surrounded by family and friends. From the flowers to the banquet hall, donations poured in to give a North Texas bride the wedding of her dreams. Jaila died on Wednesday, April 1, 2009.

It's true that love requires no age. It's pretty amazing how this couple made the most out of their lives. They look happy, indeed!

Years before, the month of November has not been so important to me. I know this is the month wherein we celebrate "All Saint's Day" and "All Soul's Day" but I guess in that span of years, no one had died that I had really been close to. But since last year, I became one of those who celebrate it in the cemetery. Yes, I visited my dearest brother who became my first boy friend and best friend.

It has been a couple of years when he died yet the pain in my heart still linger. I can still remember how he gave me advices, crack jokes and rarely scold me for being stupid. And it still hurts me every time I remember how he laughs. There will always be a special place in my heart for you, Kuya. I miss you so much!

How to Buy Babies and Toddlers

Eversince I had my own niece, I became fond of children. And did you know that my niece is the person who received the most expensive gift I had ever gave? It's not so expensive, it's only a talking Barney worth P1000. Since then, I got to love children stuffs because they are cute and I already felt like buying some for my own child in the future.

But I think that strolling in the mall is so tiring and since I earn money online, why don't I try shopping online, too? I think Shopwiki for Babies and Toddlers is a great online shop. It sells the most affordable online stuffs for your children. They sell strollers, bags and carriers, travel and outdoor stuffs,nursing and feeding stuffs. I love the stuffs that I saw here and I'm willing to buy if I get the chance and more money, I guess.

Shopping online is really easy and not so tiring unlike strolling along the mall. You don't get tired and at the same time, you can have fun.

I Just Realized

"Of all the hindrances in the world, why does it have to be religion?"

For weeks now, I've been boggled by this question in my mind. I can't understand why two persons can't be together if they don't have the same religion? I've been asking God, I've been searching for answers. Isn't that every religion teaches everyone to love one another? Why does it have to be a hindrance of love?

So why am I blogging about this? Basically, I and my baby don't belong to the same religion. I am a Roman Catholic; he's a member of Iglesia ni Cristo. And sadly, Bible doesn't permit couple with two different religion to be together. So after all these years, we're on the wrong track. We've realized that we're committing a mortal sin if we'll continue to have that "relationship". But still, the love doesn't fade. We know that we still love each other and we'll both waiting for the right time (when the two of us are already independent and stable).

Do you know the application in Facebook "See what God wants you to know?"? I click that to see mine and here's what it told me "God wants you to know that you've been talking to God too much, and not listening enough.". So maybe, I should have a quiet time to listen to God's answer to me. I'll go to church tomorrow to seek for His words and advices on what to do.

I love him still, though religion became a hindrance. We can make it. I know we can. We always can. <3

Ginebra beats the "Teams-to-Beat"

I can proudly say that I was there when it happened. Barangay Ginebra Kings, which happens to be my favorite team in PBA, has beaten San Miguel Beermen and Purefoods TJ Giants. Actually, while I was watching, I can't cheer out loud for the team. I don't know but my hands were really shaking and I was nervous knowing that those two teams have their line-up all star players.

Though Ginebra is the favorite of the crowd, I still felt nervous that the fans of the other team would insult them. I know though, that those circumstances happen for every game. But still, I have faith in the team that they would win as their known for using their hearts for every ball possession.

I salute you Jayjay Helterbrand for being so selfless, for still passing the ball when you can get that score already. I salute you Ronald Tubid, for not giving up after many attempts. You really have the heart of the champion. I salute you Willie Wilson, for every defense and offense you make. I salute Mark Caguioa, for being the role model of the team. You didn't leave us when everyone else is saying that you did. I salute you all JC Intal, Cyrus Baguio, Billy Mamaril, Sunday Salvacion, Doug Kramer, Erik Menk, Enrico Villanueva and Celina Cruz for keeping the never-say-die spirit alive.

Though their not part of the line-up anymore, Paul Artadi and Raffy Reavis would still remain Kings in my heart. I admit I was hurt a bit when I heard Ginebra fans insult Paul and Raffy because I already got to love them and they had also contributed to the team's never-say-die spirit.

I would really never ever get tired of supporting the Kings. I love them with all my heart and I always will. <3

It's Never Easy

Due to the destructive Typhoon Ondoy, many lives have been lost. Classes have been suspended for one week and some schools are serving as evacuation centers. In some areas, electricity were only brought back yesterday and are still flooded up to now.

When I woke up last Saturday, I was really shocked to see that the flood has reached our room. When for 10 years after it has been reconstructed, flood has never reached our garage. I'm really thankful that the flood in our barangay also subsided that day and we don't have to evacuate to other areas to get rid of flood. The electricity was also cut and was immediately returned the day after. The moment it was brought back, I immediately turned on the televisoin only to know that we're so fortunate to have our home that night. Many people don't have any home to return to. Even the artist Christine Reyes lost her home at Provident Villages, Marikina. These situations made me say that my family is so fortunate.

Though destructive, typhoon Ondoy has brought us many lessons that I hope to be instilled in our minds.

1. Material things come and go. They're not the most important things in life.
2. Love your family as if there's no tomorrow. You may lose them in just a snap.
3. There's no such thing as rich and poor when it comes to acts of God.

I Wanted a Shorter One

When I was new here at blogging, I had a long URL. My first blog was http://tinkiiwinkii.blogspot.com. See, that's really long and I wanted to make it shorter. I didn't know that there's such things as Free URL Forwarding, Free Sud-domains and Shorter URL Redirect Service. So what I did was, I got a domain from GoDaddy.com and I'm lucky enough that their ".net" was on sale that time. I got it for just $7 with the help of my Mommy AM.

If only I just knew about the free URL forwarding, maybe I just tried that one instead of buying a domain. That would not cost me any amount. I also would have tried first the free sub-domains and url redirect before buying. I love my domain name though but my layout doesn't complement my domain name. Hehe. That's because I just want to have a simple layout so that my site would load easily.

I suggest that if you have a long URL like my first blog, go for free url forwarding, free sub-domains and shorter URL redirect because buying a domain is really expensive. And also, it would only last for a year. You have to renew it every year if you want to maintain a website. And maintaing a website is not that easy as that of a blog. Because in my perspective, you have to make it worth your money.

I Need Shoes

I've already said here in my blog before that I'd rather spend my money on food rather than on accessories or apparels. It's not that I don't want spending on such things but for me, my money would not be wasted if I'd spend it on food. After sometime, I've realized that I should invest money on such things especially because I study in a school which doesn't require wearing uniforms. Ergo, I have to have many clothes and shoes to wear.

My main problem is wear to buy affordable shoes and clothes but I want them also to be high in quality. Thus, I want to buy German shoes for women like Schuhe, Damenstiefel, Timberland. I'm also planning to buy at St. Francis Square, I've heard there are many affordable shoes there but I just don't know if their high in quality. I'm afraid to risk my money for low-quality shoes because I easily break shoes especially when it's raining. I love the rain, though.

As I was programming a while a go, I thought that I needed a break. So what I did was, surf all my social sites account, which I followed there some celebrities and authorities. I opened my plurk account, and I saw Mar Roxas' status - a link pertaining to a stuff he got from e-mail. It's about the amount of sugar contained in the food/beverages we usually eat/drink. Here are some of what he posted. A cube is also equal to teaspoonful.

Lesson: We must all be aware of what we eat and what it is made of. I thought of sharing this with you because the rate of obesity in the Philippines is getting big now and I know that we must be alarmed of it. Also, diabetes mellitus is one of the major causes of death in the Philippines according to Department of Health. We should take care of ourselves and learn to live the healthy way.

I tried their view pack which costs $15 and they said that it will earn you a net of $15. Sure enough, I earned $15 because in my balance, it says there that I have $31.50. The $1.50 came from my sign up bonus.
So, I've decided to withdraw it. But did you notice that it was all at my PENDING FUNDS? And I was really nervous that time. I tried to contact them and on their SUPPORT page, here's what I saw.
On the second bullet, they say that :

What are pending funds?: Funds from Ad Pack sales are not paid to members until the associated advertising campaigns have expired. Once a campaign has expired the associated funds are automatically released to your balance.

Everyone of us know that we have different perspectives and opinions in life. That's why there's the word 'argument'. Yes, we do have similar ideas but what makes us stand out is our different views. I just wanna share with you the different standards of beauty in different tribes. Here in the Philippines, we know that someone is beautiful when she's white, sexy, has a shiny hair. But did you know that among the Surma(own name Suri) and Mursi people of the lower Omo River valley in Ethiopia^,about 6-12 months before marriage the woman's lip is pierced by her kinswomen, usually around the age of 15-18.

Furthermore, in Tibet, their standard of beauty is the stretched earlobes!
While in Africa, they stretched the necks of the lady, and that's their sign of beauty.

All of us have different standard of beauty. But as always, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Everyone of us has a unique beauty within ourselves. And that's what others people have to discover.

I Just Love Everything About Saab Magalona

If you don't know her, she's one of the children of Francis Magalona, the famous "King of Rap/Master Rapper". She's a sibling of Maxene Magalona, one of the famous actresses in the Philippine Show Business. I remember starting following her in plurk and then I started reading her blog at tumblr. Actually, she's the reason why I tumbled. Haha! I love her voice, especially her messy but sexy hair (SMEXY!). She looks haggard but cool. It suits her personality.

One thing that I like most about her is that I find her true. She's not plastic, she says what she wants to say, she reveals who she really is. I love Saab Magalona because she's not "maarte" in the sense that she's not too conscious about what she's going to wear. I don't know if these are true but that's what I notice as I was 'stalking' her online.

So that's it, eventhough I do not see her much on TV, I still love her. Oh btw, she has a new show, Moomoo and Me @ TV5 with John Pratts.
