Drozdov Partners designed the Anti Patio house in Kharkov, Ukraine. The terraced plot is located on the eastern slope of the hill, with a 10-15 km panoramic view characteristic of a penthouse. The ensemble of three containers (60 sq m each) is sited on two natural terraces: the “guest container” occupies the lower one, the “bedroom container” leans on the slope and the “common area container” uses the upper terrace. Andrew Maynard Architects have completed the Hill House in Melbourne, Australia. Andrew is from Tasmania, a place dominated by its landscape. Built form is secondary and subservient to landscape. Melbourne is predominantly flat. Could this be why Melbourne’s architecture is adventurous? There is no landscape to confine therefore building is free to become landscape. Hill House is a response to this possibility. Melbourne is flat. If one is to explore the possibility of cantilevering off a cliff (a desire of many architects) one is forced to manufacture that landscape. A monolithic form is unsheathed from the hill and placed atop. A celebration of the synthetic, the manufactured. A simulacrum of both an undulating landscape and the pure architectural form. Design is complex. There is little that is more complex to design than a home, however fundamental issues offer an architect a starting point; where is the sun? How do we capture it in winter, how do we exclude it in summer? The thin allotments that dominate Melbourne’s northern suburbs often provide indomitable constraints to solar access and therefore require the production of unorthodox ideas to overcome these constraints and convert them into opportunities. lagranja design studio have completed the Hotel Madera Signature Suites in Hong Kong. Our first project in Asia. The top four floors of a new build hotel in Kowloon, a district in Hong Kong and probably the place with the highest population density in the planet. A hotel with a Spanish name that leaves little room for doubt. An oasis of calm and Mediterranean warmth hung sixty meters from the bustle of the street.

Nine suites, each one unique, and each one 100% Lagranja, full of details made exclusively for this project. The nightstands turned from oak wood blocks, or the wooden spoons carved by hand that are both a decorative element and a gift the guests can take home. Nico van der Meulen Architects designed a remodel of a 1950?s house in South Africa. Architectural firm, Nico van der Meulen Architects, was commissioned to design this home according to the owner’s specifications. The brief to the architect was to create a single-storey home with an urban feel. In order to achieve this, the architect updated the 1950’s house and converted it into a timeless modern space with a better flow. Changes and additions made to the original building to allow four bedrooms and a large entertaining area. One-story building allows for multiple large volume of space and flat roofs have been used in a vertical expansion of the change to keep in mind for future clients. As a result of the renovation is complete, the house is divided into public and private spaces. Specialising in all forms of decor, furnishings and styling, M Square Lifestyle Necessities ensured that an effortless and simplistic interior space was created that both complemented the design of the house, as well as the family that live in it.
