I met Grace and Jack in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, at one of my favorite engagement session locations, the gorgeous Cranbrook House and Gardens. We wandered around the property with their adorable dog, Ophelia, and discovered endless spots for portraits. This session was photographed with my Contax camera on Fuji 400h film. Sadly, Fuji discontinued Fuji400h a few years ago, and my precious supply of it is quickly dwindling. I hope you enjoy the preview of this pretty little session!

Nature – A Michigan Retreat wedding with Caitlin and Bobby. Northern Michigan is a big summer and fall travel destination and destination weddings are common there. Caitlin and Bobby live in Chicago, but have family in Northern Michigan so naturally, chose to get married there. Their ceremony took place in a small, historic chapel in Maple City, followed by a tented reception at Nature – A Michigan Retreat. We got lucky with an unusually warm day in late September and as you will see, Sincerely Ginger weddings planned and executed a gorgeous tented reception. Please enjoy the preview!

Lindsay and Kyle were married and held their wedding reception at Frederick Meijer Gardens and Sculpture Park in Grand Rapids, Michigan. One of my favorite places for a destination wedding in Michigan is Mackinac Island. For those of you that haven’t been there, no cars are allowed on the island so all travel is by bicycle, horse drawn carriage or walking. This really adds a uniqueness and sense of romance to weddings on the island. Haley and Blake got married downtown in the historic St. Anne’s Catholic Church and held their reception at the Grand Hotel’s sister property, Woods Restaurant. Woods is a Tudor style mansion located in the wooded interior of Mackinac Island. As you will see, Woods is a unique and wonderful place for a wedding reception! Please enjoy the preview.

I adore beach weddings in Michigan, especially when they take place at private residences as beautiful as this one. With the exception of the ceremony (that took place at a nearby church), Mackenzie and Zach’s wedding was held at her parents Lake Michigan beach home in Holland. Cassie of White Dress Events and Rhiannon of Rhiannon Bosse Celebrations designed and executed the most lovely tented lakeside wedding and I was honored to be there to capture it all. The War Memorial in Grosse Pointe, Michigan is a favorite wedding venue of mine. It’s classic and elegant and made the perfect location for McKenna and Andrew’s beautiful summer wedding. Their ceremony took place outdoors on the back, lakeside of the building, followed by an indoor reception. Studio Terrain pulled it all together with their gorgeous floral design and McKenna, as you will see, was a stunning bride. I’ve been looking forward to this wedding ever since I met Samantha and Frank for their beach engagement session in Holland. I knew with Design Effect Events doing the planning and Rhiannon Bosse Celebrations doing the design and florals that it would be a stunner of a wedding…and it was. The floral arch was incredible so there is no shortage of images of it in this post. Samantha and the ladies got ready at her parents beach house and then we headed to the wedding venue, Black River Barn, in South Haven, Michigan. It’s a newer venue and this was my first time photographing there. As you will see, it’s a beautiful place to get married and host a party! Congratulations Samantha and Frank!

Venue 3Two is a unique Grand Rapids, Michigan wedding venue and Alexa and Lucas chose to host both their ceremony and reception there. It poured rain the day before this wedding and even though it was a dark day, we were lucky not to have any rain on the wedding day. As you can see, Alexa was a stunning bride in her Demetrio’s wedding gown. And her shoes…I’m pretty in love with those! I met up with Madison and Meg at at their wedding venue, Shepherd’s Hollow Golf Club, to do an engagement session for them. We got a beautiful early autumn day to wander around the property and get to know one another. Stephanie and Brett’s beautiful wedding at Shepherd’s Hollow Golf Club in Clarkston was perfect. This venue is easily becoming one of my new Detroit area favorites. Ann Travis Events did a wonderful job with the planning and as always, Rhiannon Bosse knocked it out of the park with her floral designs. She had her hands full making bouquets for 12 bridesmaids!
