The word charity in this passage means love. This teaches us what true love is. It is not always easy. It is worth working towards and practicing in our lives.

Jesus was proactive. He did not handle things by emotions. He did not let irritation or anger control him. He did not let his emotions rule him. He assessed the situation and took action. He took the correct action. It may not have always been the action that was popular. But it was the correct action.

1. Stop.
2. Think things through.
3. Pray for wisdom and courage.
4. Take the correct action.

This is simple but sometimes difficult. It takes a desire to do the right thing and then the courage and wisdom to do it.

When times get tough remember the One who can hide you from the storm. It is not someone you can see. It is the One you can't see but who sees you. He sees what is happening. He sees what is going on in your life and mind and heart.

Call out to Him. Search His Word. Trust that He will care for you. No matter what.
