Freaky fifth Magellan chapter begins

What’s big and warty with very sharp teeth and lurks in the dark? I don’t know… but it’s right behind you!!

Something nasty is living in the sewers of Sydney… but not for much longer! A conspiracy of freakish proportions is about to bubble out onto the above-world, taking down a few unsuspecting super heroic types in the process. Magellan, the webcomic by Stephen Crowley about super hero wannabes, has just kicked off its fifth major storyline - Worst Field Trip Ever.

This new story builds on almost five years and 500 pages of Magellan back history but is still an ideal stepping on point for new readers (and even for those who haven’t caught up with the cadets and various goings on at Magellan Justice Academy for a while - you know who you are!). If you haven’t checked Magellan out already you can find it every Tuesday and Thursday at Graphic Smash, with a mirror at WCN and Comic Genesis.

Tales of Marga Returns!

So for those of us in America, most of the country is EFFING COLD these days. Seriously I need to put on pretty much ALL of my clothes just to venture out onto the frozen streets of my beloved Chicago and not immediately die.

It sure would be nice to get away to an island paradise. Let’s get real though, who can afford a vay-cay these days? Well maybe the next best is thing to get there in your head and to aid in this self delusion Thor Thorvaldson has brought his tales of tropical monkeyshines back to Graphic Smash. Hey everybody. You may have noticed Graphic Smash running a little slow of late. If you have not noticed you must be used to things moving very slowly and must be a turtle or snail or something. I suppose if that were the case you would lack the necessary appendages to navigate to this site anyway. What was I talking about it? Oh yeah, slowness.

Shades on Hiatus

Hey everybody!

News for you’: I’m sorry to say that Shades will be going on hiatus after today’s (4/7) update for a few months. I am assured that Shades will be back before you know, possibly as early as this fall. I’ll keep you updated!

I take a good deal of pride is saying that Shades was one of the very first comics I added to GS and it’s been a great run. I can’t wait for more and I’m sure you agree. If you don’t know what I’m talking about now is a good time to get with the program! Read all of Shades right here on GS during the break and find out what you’ve been missing!

Last Warring Angel Joins Graphic Smash

I don’t know about you, but I hate it when nuclear holocausts happen. Seriously, I’m sitting out on my deck, sipping a cold one while listening to the ball game and then KA-BLAMMO, it’s a’splode all over the place and my neighbor’s dog has turned into mutant creature too horrible to be described within the limitations of the English language and the EMP has killed my radio and I can’t even listen to the end of the game.

It sucks!

I’m a proactive fella though and that’s why I’m happy to announce that The Last Warring Angel by By Jay Carvajal & Marc Borstel begins on Graphic Smash today! (4/21/08) LWA is here to do something about those pesky nuclear disaster and ensure your summer is mutually-assured destruction free!
