In my last post I showed you how Mojca (or should I say – Irska)  used Photoshop brushes in her latest Scrapbook projects.

Now is the time to talk about vectors. Actually, I owe a huge apology to vectors. They have been sooo neglected on my blog that I just can’t believe that I did that! That was wrong, wrong – WRONG!

Why?

Because, vectors are extremely useful in so many different ways. Let’s just mention some of them:

1. You can stretch them, skew them, enlarge or scale them down as much as you want and you will never, NEVER lose any quality.

2. And if you are in hurry or inspiration just won’t land on your shoulder, a pre-made vector is the best place to start. Load them into your favorite vector software, adjust them to fit your needs and – voila! You get what you needed in no time!

Nikki is one of many graphic designers who knows all about advantages that vectors offer. And, I was so happy, the other day, when I got her email. She wanted to show me how she used 30 Floral Shapes vector set to create car decal.

Now, here is what she said:

I found a couple of pieces (graphic design elements) and mixed them together, gave them a bend here and there to fit the contours of the car and came up with a new design for her.

I have attached a couple of pics of her car and hope to do more using your images.

A word or two on

30 Floral Shapes vector set

And another great work by my dear friend Mojca.

Now, why did I call this post Irska’s Scrapbook when author’s name is Mojca?

First, you should know that Ireland, in Slovenian language, is Irska.

So, you guessed, Mojca must be … Irish.

Not! :)

Mojca is Slovenian. Now, why did I call her Irska then, I hear you ask?

Because, she likes Ireland so much that Irska became her nickname.

Just today I got her email with her latest scrapbook challenge submission on ScrapbookFlair.Com. Theme was “Your front window.”

And voila! I just had to share it with you!

As a light decoration on the blue background, Irska used one of the Photoshop brushes provided on GBG web site – Fantasy birds (now available as PNGs too for GBG Silver Members)

and created this cool scrapbook challenge submission on ScrapbookFlair.com themed “Your front window” :)

I got  “The Pig of Happiness” mug by Edward Monkton from my sister some time ago. She brought it from her trip to London and … it instantly became my favorite mug (who doesn’t have one). It says: “May his JOYFUL SMILE remind us how much there is to be HAPPY about”

So, inspired by this totally cool “making me smile” mug, I made my own version of Happy Pigs. I gave them wings and made them fly, so now they’re called

The Flying Pigs of Happiness

and I turned them into

Photoshop brushes

And I dedicated that brush to all my loving GBG members which will get it for free in our GBG eZine July 2010 edition (you too can joing GBG here ->)!

These 8 flying piggies will be available as .abr and .png files and I hope you will have fun using them as a decoration for your designs! I know I had fun creating them!
