GreasyBlocks has been dropping these Street Dreams videos since day one, and this one has been highly anticipated by a few people. Danny Alaniz is one of the dopest camera operators in the game and his footage is always a great feeling. It puts you right in the action. Looks like they are getting it in HEAVY in the desert!

Jae Nyce (Nyce1s.com) sent over a sneak photo of Slick on the 1st drive from his new EK build.

MC Slick, aka big ass house, has been building an EK over the last few months at Certified Racing in New Jersey. Dude posted quite a few photos for people who are friends with him on Facebook, as well as on the Honda Day page. Slick is the front-man aka voice at Honda Day, for those who don’t know who he is or cannot put a face with the name. Slick is always posting things from the celly. I personally keep up with his pool parties. With Honda Day right around the corner, looks like Albert and crew over at Certified finished slick get on his Ninja Turtle Shit just in time. They have been busy as hell, probably have been busy as hell with Honda Day Project Car Giveaway.

Jeff’s z06, on that Corn. After the click  read more about V8Muscle.net…

As impressive as GM’s current generation Corvette Z06’s are, a local shop has found a way to make even better. Jeff Goodell, half of the V8Muscle.net tuning duo, purchased his own and started to tinker. Jeff has managed to pull 494hp and 472tq out of his ride with nothing more than a cold air intake and tuning the car to run on E85. not only that, hes piloted this rocket to a 6.97@103.2 at one of our local 1/8th mile tracks. Chevrolet has managed to, arguably, make the nastiest car available for the money. Jeff is based out of Upstate, SC and is available for tuning of most late model american vehicles. CB: I have worked very hard to make this the event of 2011. The west coast is strong with cars but I wish we had the fan base like east coast. I won my first national event in E-Town @Summerslam in like 2004 with 30k people in attendance. We are working hard to bring the west coast back to its form in the early 2000’s and late 90’s. I expect 40+ outlaw cars this weekend.  I’m looking forward to Speed Factory and T1 coming here, I hope Kaizenspeed makes it and Norris Prayoonto is on the way with a mystery east coast car. We will be debuting the Crazystar/Mfactory Integra driven by Lisa Kubo, our SFWD car driven by Justin Verches, and our All Motor outlaw car driven by Pun Prak. Honda Tuning and Import Tuner will be out there covering the event and we will be making a feature length dvd of the event, and donating the profits to the Leukemia and Cancer Society. Joe Simpson and the rest of the crew at Tempest racing are excited to announce a new location. Tempest Racing has been in operation for 10 years and has undergone many changes over the years.  However this is by far the biggest and best move to date ! This move was accomplished when Joe joined forces with Jeff Croy,owner of LDG Automotive Specialists. Together they decided to build Tempest Racing into the largest and most complete race fabrication and dyno tuning facility in the tri-state area!

The new location features more than 8,000 sq feet of available space, a in ground Dyno-jet chassis dyno, multiple lifts, rim/tire mounting equipment, diagnostic equipment, alignment machine, and expansion of our fabrication tooling and equipment. For everybody’s safety and protection the new facility has also been fitted with a security system including multiple security camera’s inside and out.

In addition to the much larger work area, the new facility will now have a dedicated show room and inventory storage area for all of your performance part needs. After a good nights rest in Tucumcari, I got back on the road. The wind is not supposed to be that bad today, but there is a Kmart down the street and I know they have painters tape. I should go get some, but instead I just decide to gas up and try the road.

This stop of the drive was very unexpected. I had not planned to stay there, and instead skip it. While I was in Memphis I looked for places to skip and this was going to be one since I did not know anyone in the area. This was one of the most fun times I had on my trip, and I have to extend a huge thanks to Dom, Jeff, and David for the hospitality! I will be back!

Here I go, My first write/review in words.

As we proceed our journey to Helen, GA for the best southern show in existence know as Southern Worthersee (An American groups version loosely based on the Original Worthersee GTI treffen located in Austria and Running strong for it’s 30th year this year) I can’t help but feel the excitement that I have felt the first four years. That’s right, I’ve gone when it was a small venue of 225 cars the first year and over 1200 cars pre-registered this year. I knew for a fact it was gonna be a wild ride. So armed with two different views and boat load of brews, Chris Dressler, Sheridan Taylor and myself head to Georgia. The rest of our krew “The Syndicate” waited a bit later to caravan down.

Now mind you this is only a cool 118ish miles, 1:45 minutes from door to door. Cars loaded and off we go. The drive doesn’t even seem to take that long. I remember seeing that sign 13 miles to Helen and feeling extra excited in my pants! You know, the “semi” you have to sometimes go urinate to get to go away… hahahaha but really. I knew I was only miles away from seeing my people from the whole east coast that I have became friends with, look up to, and respect on a level that only a few get to find in a life time.

Here’s where I start to shorten things up a bit. We socialize, drink, walk, meet, eat, hit the mk1 get together, then get back up with The Stance Factory’s low car limbo -and drink even more- til all the kids have been put to bed the first night. (BTW: My car was a 1/2″ lower than the Vortex Jesus’ car! haha Awesome!)
May have been WAY later than I should have but, who cares. You never want those times to end. The cops are very chill, not buggin, nobody is fightin and the good times are rolling.

Saturday morning, ah yes the hangover… But as I wake up from my awesome 3 hours of eye rest I then realize that yes, there is a car show today! So we get moving over to the pre-registration booth to grab the free packets which include and always come with awesome 8380 labs designed shirts, along with other freebies that the vendors toss in. It’s still so amazing to me how H20 tuning (the shows host) continues to keep this show 100% FREE for it’s show goers and spectators. The vendor list is all the people who run these companies and who really care about this VAG scene. So keep it up guys! Myself along with the first four years worth of people who came and had a great time sure appreciate it, that’s for damn sure. There really was so much this year that I was blown away! So many quality cars that I found it hard to take it all in, every direction you turned. But for sure I will get an official list of the winners.

I know for sure that my krew won the “club spirit award”. This also a high light  of my weekend cause I got called up to accept this award! Didn’t even hear them call me or that out. As normal I was bullshittin with some long time peeps.

Then there is the after hours get-together. Our tradition is to hit this little spot called the Old Bavarian Inn for dinner and have some fine German brews. Afterwards, we walk back to the hotel. You see… socializing is the key here. As you can tell everybody is having a grand time and that’s where the town party gets crazy. People trying to get drivers to burn out on public streets. I’m one for a good time and all but really? Why fuck up a good thing for the rest of us? The cops are trying their best to let us have a good time. They like us coming back and booming this small towns economy. I heard rumors of a few shooting fireworks at the cops. That is just crazy to say the least. Then read about all these people getting things stolen from their cars while parked at the hotels. C’mon Son! Please, let me catch a thief! If you can’t afford it, do something with your life, get a better job or GTFO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I really have a lot to talk about and get out there, but I wanna keep it plain and simple. If your are a douche bag, a thief, don’t respect the show organizers stuff, cops and laws or just a uncontrollable drunk…….. Please stay at home. We would like to continue coming back year after year. And with that I’ll leave you with my name and email, cause I ain’t scared to speak my mind. That’s word. Holla

After a small break, Greasy is back with more from the recent NationRIDE tour! Join us for a ride from Oklahoma City to New Mexico!

I was up at 5am to get ready to get back on the road after eating some pizza left over from the night before with Jenkins. Packing up the car was not too hard this morning either.

Went to this bomb ass gas station called On Cue. It reminded me of Quick Trip or better known as QT in ATL. All kinda slushies on tap, tons of drinks, can damn near buy anything in these type of convenience stores. And the good part is they are cheap! Hell, even the gas here was cheap compared to what I saw along the road.

I hit 40, and headed west. 7am and no heavy traffic was a blessing. The destination was Albuquerque, NM and at over 550 miles away is no easy drive for me. In my head, I STILL had that car that was going to break like in Nashville. Nervous was not the word, but I just put that feeling in the back of my head and got moving. Worrying about not making this trip was not an option.

Outside of the city, the land started to look pretty flat. That was cool to see all of the farm land.

The wind all of the sudden started to hit me. I felt it from the time I got gas back at Douglas, but this shit was serious! Had to be over 40mph. It was pushing my car into the other lane. The trees were laid over!

What are those tall poles? They look like power poles.

No, windmills.

When I was a little kid, I always wanted to see these things. So I jumped off the highway and took some back roads to them. The roads started to look like someones driveway, so I decided to drive up one for some pictures. That never ended up bad or anything (SARCASM)…

These things were in every direction.

Hopped on Route 66 without realizing it. I wanted to head to the store to clean off the windshield. Bugs were everywhere on the window and my dumb ass didn’t clean them off at the store in OKC. Smart one!

Got to the store and made a few calls. Car was so dirty.

Saw this sign and automatically thought of google searches and nights on youtube. Plus, I wanted some McDonalds, so I hopped off the highway.

After McDonalds, headed up the street to find this place.

Bingo!

This place seemed pretty cool from the outside so I had to check it out.

Back on the road. Spent a bit longer in there than I expected to but it was a fun and memorable experience. Great to learn about the history of such a widely recognized road. The place was packed when I came out, to the point where you couldn’t move almost, and they were all foreign. When I asked the ladies working they said this was a regular day for them. And with it not being a weekend, they said it was slower than usual. I’m saying I would like to make some of that money!

Back to nothing.

Hello Texas! Been a while!

I like the night sign. Kinda cool to see different speed limits at different times of the day. I hardly saw any cops for a while too, which was unusual for me on this trip.

Tons of abandoned places right here off of Interstate 40. I am not sure if these are once again the downfall of business due to the interstate, but there were spots where for over 10-15 miles there were not services. I do not see how one of these stations or locations couldn’t be useful. Sad to see.

Super Flat!

Stopped at the rest area, which was a ways in from the state line. My legs were like linguine from those Recaros! Someone saw me at a gas station in Memphis talking about “I cannot believe you are ruining your seats with a cross country drive”… yea, I beat them. These seats are nice! Why not use them? Where you think I’m from? Down south we use parts!

Construction kept me in 1 lane for over 16 miles.

Amarillo

Stopped and grabbed some Burger King and got some pictures uploaded to Greasy. I stayed in there a little while, but it was a good chance to recharge my phone, iPod, and computer. Thank you XDA for helping turn my phone into a multitasking monster of a hot spot!

Saw a car wash across the street and had to.

Tried to gas up, only to have my Paypal card rejected. Huh, I know I have money. Try a few more times and a clerk comes out and asks me where I got the card. I was like WTF. Pulled out my other Bank card and payed. Looks like my paypal has no money in it, but it did. Find more out about this later!

Got gas, got back on the road, and peace’d out to Amarillo.

Someone got the bad end of this wind. Glad it was not me.

Stared seeing this going down the road. What is that? Never rolled up on anything like this before. Dust storm. Cops were in the middle with full suits, masks, and more with caution signs. I stopped taking pics for a second because I almost couldn’t see.

Met these people later on, in the trip, but they were a older married couple, driving from North Carolina in this classic doing the entire Route 66 tour. What a treat to see!

About mile marker 15 the terrain changed drastically from what I had been seeing in both Oklahoma and Texas to an extremely rocky and curvy road. Another state was definitely close! Thank you god, I was about to fall asleep from the mass amount of nothing I was seeing!

My 1st time in New Mexico!

Pulled off to use the facilities and also get some information on the road ahead. Thankfully the time change allowed me to be in within the 30 minutes before they closed.

Sun starting to drop. Made for some great photo ops as well. This part of the road was beautiful.

Stopped in Tucumcari, NM at Mcdonalds to check the gps, get a burger, and make sure the coolant was good. For some reason, my Paypal card did not work again. WTF is going on? Used my other card and no problems. I am already tired and pissed, not feeling like the wind or the bumpy ass road anymore so I just got a hotel and let it ride. I called my friend Eric to get me a Hotel, since my card was not working and went in to call paypal. After finally getting the room and getting upstairs, Paypal tells me that its security and they cut off the card by seeing 3 different states in my purchases over the coarse of 2 days. WHY have a card you cannot use? So I called, and as pissed as I was, the customer service for me was excellent. They helped me get it back on and even offered compensation for the problems. I declined the compensation and thanked them for actually caring and watching. The things you learn. While it cost me time, its good to know someone is looking over my shoulder. But the rest of the night was good. Got to relax and catch some playoff basketball! Cannot get much better than this! Also, got to have some good conversation with John from K-Tuned. Thank you for your wisdom and help! I really owe you one!
