I don’t know if the driver of this truck (spotted at Fox Farm @ 10th Ave S) is a proud Tea Party member, or a Lefty who is so committed to mocking Tea Party members that he just couldn’t resist inscribing on his license plate the most common epithet hurled at them.

Unless I’m misreading the plate, that is, and it has nothing to do with the Tea Party at all.

Some of you may have seen the animated “re-creation” of certain news events in recent months, the most famous/notorious being the Tiger Woods incident.

But Electric City Weblog has stumbled across what I believe is the very first instance of a Great Falls news incident being subjected to the same treatment.

Whatever side of the airport dispute you favor, this is pretty funny stuff. Sort of like an editorial page cartoon brought to life.

One of the brightest lights in Great Falls – our very own Cindy Cieluch (whose desk at KRTV I now inhabit!) – is offering a nifty giveaway:

Carol Bradley & Saving Gracie

At Starbucks this afternoon (duh) and noticed a puppy in the window – accompanied by Carol Bradley, Great Falls’ newest published author! Her book “Saving Gracie” has just been released, and it’s garnering impressive reviews.

About the book: “It’s the compelling true story of one dog’s rescue from a Pennsylvania puppy mill. The book chronicles how one little dog is transformed from a bedraggled animal, worn out from bearing puppies, into a loving, healthy member of her new family, and profiles the people who stepped forward to save her along the way.”

Also of note: Starbucks got some new chairs!

Ouch – looks like this school bus got a dent in the rear fender. Happened on Monday near the refinery. Didn’t see anyone injured, thank goodness.

Bleskin Motors Query

A friend of mine is considering buying a “rig” from Bleskin Motors, and asked me if I knew anything good/bad about Bleskin. I’ve never dealt with them, but FWIW I’ve never heard anything bad about them. I’ve never seen anyone air a grievance about Bleskin like this person did about Bennett Motors, for instance. So I’m turning to you – any of you ever dealt with Bleskin? Good experience, deals, service – or not?

There’s a lively discussion over at Electric City Weblog about the (non)-release of SME documents, and someone going by “A Taxpayer” left the following comment:

Well, the new city attorney has apparently skipped town without returning my phone call message as promised by his secretary. I wonder why we pay these guys the big bucks, when the heat is on they disappear.

And that was followed up by Mayor Michael Winters, who left the following response:

Yo ! Taxpayer !!! Get your ducks straight !! The city attorney went home for the week end—the man has not seen his family for over three weeks and certainly deserves that break–so get off his back…

It’s possible, of course, that the comment was left by someone “impersonating” Mayor Winters. But if it really was hizzoner, then kudos to him for standing up for the new city attorney (James Santoro). There’s more interaction between the Mayor and the commenters – go read the whole exchange.

If you’re looking for a job, you should be following @greatfallsjobs on Twitter. They post all of their job openings; sometimes just one or two a day, but sometimes up to a dozen. One of the jobs posted this week caught my eye – here’s an abbreviated version:

Seeking an experienced professional to manage and lead staff, patrons, and activities of the Great Falls Public Library. Administratively responsible for planning, organizing, and controlling activities, services and budgeting of the library system. Supervises a staff of 21 with a total budget of $1.19M. Desire training, education and experience equivalent to a master’s degree in library science and five years progressively responsible experience in library administration, including a minimum of three years in a supervisory capacity. Grade 63, salary range mid $70s, DOQ.

Sounds like a neat gig – but are you as surprised as I am that it pays mid-$70K?
