How would you like the idea of having a thermos flask in your pocket? in our market today, there is no decent bottle that is space saving and durable as a stainless steel bottle. The design is sleek and elegant; this is a container that you can quench your thirst in a respectable manner. No matter where you are, whether it is in an office, giving out lectures, on a camping safari, or just relaxing on the beach, many are the appropriate scenarios that you will be proud to pull out the stainless steel water bottle and take a mouthful of your favorite drink, hot or cold. Since steel is a metal, the creation of a heat barrier by means of a vacuum is very much possible, with a lot of ease. This is hard to achieve with plastic containers since they are susceptible to environmental factors, the varying in temperatures during the day will ultimately cause cracking of the container, the stainless steel water bottle is virtually indestructible. This makes the stainless steel water bottle a great investment, once you acquire your stainless steel water bottle; expect no more financial baggage of purchasing water bottles due to simple deformities.

Smooth curves, clean finishes and a crisp look are all qualities that you can only expect from a stainless steel water bottle. Other products made of other materials rather than stainless steel will just not measure up. Let’s call them cheap for their durability, presentation wise and out rightly shady in appearance. Do not consume your water just like any other ordinary man, jump to the next class of elegance and drink water from a unique bottle made of the best material ever. Chef’s knives are known the world over for their elegance; guess the material they are made from, right stainless steel. Join the world in celebrating the elegance of steel in its rust free shiny luster.

In terms of appearance, the color of the stainless steel water bottles comes in as many colors as available. The best thing about this is that no matter the exposure to the environmental conditions such as the sun, there are no side effects unlike the plastic bottles. The stainless steel water bottle maintains the factory status quo in terms of discoloration unlike the plastic bottles. It is a shame that plastic bottles do leach and causes chemicals from the polyethylene material the bottle is made up of.

For every product that is hand held, it is a requirement that the grip be made to standard. In the plastic world it is a rare combination to experience both a good grip and smoothness. Furthermore plastics will deform on exposure to heat either external or from the contained liquid. The stainless steel water bottles do not crumble on changes in temperature and thus it is a better choice. This means that the stainless steel water bottle is the most superior of the water bottles in the market today. Join thousands of others in the stainless steel water bottle side and save the world from the terrible effects of the plastic drug.

Further inspection identifies the plastic to be in the forms of bottled water containers which end up in recycling plants. The amount of bottled water containers in garbage increases formidably every year and evidently plastic doesn’t easily breakdown in landfills thus increasing the waste stream and destroying our beautiful environment. So, what is the solution? Change from bottled water containers to stainless steel water bottles.

Unlike the plastic bottled water containers, stainless steel water bottles (containers) do no harm to our environment. Due to the high demand of plastic bottled containers, a lot of energy and resources are used to manufacture them resulting in pollution contributing to global warming which is hazardous to our environment. Also when these plastic bottle containers are subjected to extreme temperatures, some of the chemicals are released to the atmosphere interfering with the air composition making the air we breathe in more dangerous thus increasing the risk of diseases such as lung cancer, asthma among many others. Farming and herding in some areas is impossible due to the effects of plastic waste whereby the chemicals released after the burning of plastic results to acidic rain which destroys crops and grass leaving no fodder for livestock. If these levels of toxins from the plastics are not checked in time, we might have catastrophic events such as extinction of marine wild life especially the fresh water marine. These chemicals in the atmosphere are harmful to us whether it’s immediately or cumulatively over a period of time.

Using stainless steel water bottles doesn’t change or alter the eco-system at all. And added advantage is that they are reusable and of high quality thus they won’t be found in the trash but still in the kitchen for future use. Since they are strong, they can take minor infringements without losing any effectiveness, unlike plastic bottles that are flammable and could cause one major losses if by the slightest of chances are left where they can catch fire. The using of the eco friendly stainless steel water bottles is a preventive and conservative initiative. By using stainless steel water bottles, the chances of depreciating the environment at an exponential rate is reduced and chances of ultraviolet radiation penetrating to the earth’s surface. This means that we can enjoy the natural sites and attractions for a longer timeline.

The site of litter in our environment is not the least bit pretty, the heaps of litter we mostly see originate from plastic materials. Since they are not biodegradable they still remain in their decapitating state until they are recycled or disposed off, mostly by burning that causes a lot of carbon release into the atmosphere. Plastics might be the reason for the growing alarm over depletion of the ozone layer. The light plastics can be dangerous if not held down to the ground; they might obscure vision on the road or even in the air depending on the wind strength. The need for larger dumping grounds is taking a lot of land resources that might be used for better activities that are environmentally friendly. Going green? Start with using the stainless steel water bottles.

An independent study of the bottled water industry which was conducted by the Natural Resources Defense Council or NRDC from 1995 to 1999 showed that bottled water is not guaranteed safer than tap water and that there were major gaps in bottled water standards. NRDC is an environmental action organization with millions of members that lobby on issues to protect the environment. The study indicated that there are some bottled water that contains contaminants, bacteria and synthetic chemicals. These chemicals included plastic chemicals, industrial solvents; trihalomethanes which is the chemical reaction generated by chlorine coming in contact with organic matter that is present in water and worse, arsenic which is a known carcinogen.

The bottled water industry has grown by leaps and bounds and is generating billions of dollars annually. All companies swear on the purity of their water but studies have shown that this is not the case. Take into consideration the bottle that is being used to contain the water. Generally the plastic material used is PET or polyethylene terephthalate which is extracted from virgin petroleum. This material is supposedly non-toxic. But according to a John Hopkins researcher Rolf Halden that while there are no dioxins in the plastic; the phthalates in the plastic bottle will leach into the water or beverage when the bottle becomes heated or warm. Phalates are endocrine disruptors and will harm human and animals. Many people leave bottled water outside where it may be exposed to the sun or in the car.

Not only will the bottled water itself cause harm, but producing and eventually disposing these bottles have a substantial environmental impact. Manufacturing the PET bottle generates 100 times more toxic emissions than making a glass or stainless steel water bottle. While there is a move to cut down on the use of fossil fuels, these bottles increase the requirement for virgin petroleum from which it is made from. Additional fossil fuel is again required to manufacture, fill and distribute these bottled waters. Disposing them fills up beaches, roadside, empty lots and landfills where these mounds of plastic bottles will stay for thousands of years.

While many are skeptical about tap water, there are solutions that will ensure the purity of the water that you will be drinking. Considering all these issues about bottled water, the best alternative would be to use tap water, filter them well and store them in glass or stainless steel bottles that can be reused over and over again.

Every year, 38 billion water bottles are dumped in the landfills and it takes 1,000 years for them to decompose. Lay those out end to end and you can circle the globe 150 times with these many bottles. Aside from getting dumped into the landfills, the plastic bottles are thrown into the ocean which eventually drifts to garbage patches. Plastic bottles are one of the major components of the biggest garbage patch that is floating in the Pacific Ocean between Hawaii and San Francisco which is estimated to be the size of Texas.

Each bottle requires a quarter bottle of virgin petroleum to manufacture which will total to 17 million barrels of oil each year. If used as fuel for cars, this amount of oil would have been enough to power 1 million cars for a year. Each bottled water requires 3 to 5 bottles of raw water to produce but interestingly enough, about a quarter of the bottled water sold in the market come from municipal or tap water that has just been treated using reverse osmosis, deionization and others. What is worse is that producing 30 billion liters of bottled water generated 2.5 million tons of carbon dioxide in 2006 and this figure is expected to rise to 3.7 million tons of carbon dioxide by 2011.

The bottled water has a bigger impact on the environment than it does on the health of the people. A lot of natural resources are wasted but a lot of toxins and pollutants are also contributed to our environment. Bottled water that is handled improperly and exposed to heat can produce toxic and carcinogenic substances like BPA or Bisphenol A that is leached out into the water from the plastic bottle.

Although drinking clean water may be very essential to our good health, there are better options than drinking bottled water. You can use refillable aluminum water bottles but these require plastic liners which make the water taste funny and might still possibly have a reaction.

One of the best and most practical water containers that you can use for your drinking water is a stainless steel bottle. These bottles are designed to last a lifetime given the proper care. They are fairly easy to clean up, being dishwasher safe. Stainless steel drinking bottles need not only be used for water but can also be used for other beverages like hot drinks because these bottles do not melt nor deform. Stainless steel is impermeable so it will not retain any odor or flavor from anything that you put inside the bottle for as long as you have washed it thoroughly. What’s more, the steel that is used for making these bottles are safe and do not leach out toxic substances even if the bottles are exposed to heat. These refillable stainless steel water bottles will help reduce the garbage from plastic bottles both in the landfills and in the oceans. Just the simple decision of boycotting plastic water bottles and using stainless steel bottles is already your big contribution to the environment.

Featured on Ezine Articles.

With most everything going green today, it makes perfect sense that there would be a smart alternative to plastic bottles. With the popularity of bottled water, I was pleased to discover the “green bottle”, the stainless steel water bottle that simply makes sense and is the smart choice over plastic bottles. It really is the “makes sense” option especially when it comes to buying the perfect container for you to take with you when you want to travel with liquids. If you are looking for an alternative to plastic water bottles, consider getting a stainless steel water bottle for your water and other beverages. I recently did some online research about green bottles, and I discovered that there are many varieties from which to choose from.

To begin with, let's briefly discuss the problems with plastic bottles. Using plastic bottles for your water no longer seems to make sense. Recent studies have come out reporting serious health issues with BPA, a hormone disrupting chemical that has existed in many plastics. Even though many manufacturers have removed BPA, there are still many questionable chemicals in plastic.

On top of that, many people today are looking for ways to go green and do their part by helping the environment. If you want to do your part, you should seriously consider getting a stainless steel water bottle instead of using a plastic bottle since a steel bottle can be reused over and over again and you do not have the waste of tossing out single use plastic bottles. Stainless steel bottles are also a money saver and you can save hundreds of dollars a year by not buying plastic single use bottles.

There are many choices for you to make when it comes to getting a stainless steel water bottle for yourself or for your family when you are looking for transportable bottles for your beverages. In addition to single bottles, there are insulated bottles which will keep the contents hot or cold and you can find a filtered water bottle which purifies water as you drink.

When it comes to transportable bottles for carrying liquids for yourself or your children, the best choice is clearly a stainless steel water bottle that you can purchase online. I've reviewed several sites, and came across one in particular that seemed to offer solid choices, an easy to navigate site, and what I found to be very competitive price wise. The site is GreenBottle.info and while perusing their site I was quite impressed with the variety of green bottles available.

Green Bottle is a new and exciting organization that really understands the need for a smart alternative to the plastic bottle. They carry a wide selection of Stainless Steel Bottles for everyone to use while working out in the gym, shopping, feeding the baby, camping and hiking, travel, work or for simply relaxing with your favorite beverage. The Green Bottle stainless steel bottle is 100% reusable and 100% recyclable. The bottles come in a myriad of shapes and colors and they all make an eco-friendly statement which gives them the name, Green Bottle. Hop over to http://GreenBottle.info today and discover what I did: The perfect “green” alternative that really makes sense!

Tap water is regulated by the EPA so there are thorough tests throughout the day and tap water companies are required to produce quality reports.

Tap water is constantly in motion which keeps it fresh.

Tap water is filtered and disinfected.

Bottled water is regulated by the FDA and does not require the same tests or quality reports that you can get from tap water.

Bottled water is not required to filter, disinfect or follow any quality standards.

Bottled water can contain chemicals which leach into the water in time, especially if exposed to heat.

Bacteria can enter the bottles during the bottling process which can multiply by the time the bottle of water is purchased by a consumer.

At least two out of five bottles of bottled water is just bottled tap water.

The best solution is to filter your tap water and drink it from a Green Bottle stainless steel bottle when you are on the road.

How does bottled water affect the environment?

Many people think they are being "green" by recycling their plastic water bottles.

Actually, plastic water bottles, even when disposed of in a recycling center, either end up in landfills or disposed of in an incinerator. This causes a huge problem in the environment as it literally takes thousands of years to degrade.

By using a Green Bottle Stainless Steel Bottle, you will make a big difference in the preservation of the environment.

How does bottled water waste our natural resources?

The plastic bottle used for bottled water accounts for approximately 2.5 percent of the world’s oil consumption; in fact, manufacturing the plastic bottles in the U.S. uses enough oil and energy to fuel a million cars! Not to mention all the fuel that is wasted to transport the water bottles by plane, ship and truck within the US and globally.

We can save on our natural resources by drinking tap water in a stainless steel bottle and reuse it over and over again.

Are we wasting money on bottled water?

A Glass of tap water is almost free whereas Bottled water costs more than 2000 times the price of tap water. Many times, the bottled water you are buying is actually just bottled tap water so you're paying a lot of money for something that flows freely in your home.

Save your money and your health by drinking tap water in a Green Bottle stainless steel bottle.

Is bottled water really more convenient to buy than just using tap water?

Bottled water advertising touches on the convenience of the product. It's available when you need it at the nearest grocery, gas station or vending machine. The problem is people are forgetting about the almost free running water in their taps and are ignorant of the pollution that is caused from plastic bottles.

Buying a reusable bottle and filling it from public sources is a more convenient and healthier solution.

It's easier and cheaper for me to fill up a plastic bottle with water!

Reusing a plastic bottle is a no-no. There are chemicals that are used to manufacture the plastic bottle that will leach in to the water over time, especially if you reuse the plastic bottle over and over again. Recycling the bottle doesn't mean it will be reused. Only 20 percent of the bottles are actually recycled and the balance is sitting in landfills for the next 1000s of years. For the bottles that do get recycled, they actually create additional waste to make them reusable by adding more plastics and chemicals.

The best and smart option is to buy a stainless steel bottle that is not only 100% recyclable and reusable but will have a positive and immediate impact on the environment.

Stainless steel bottles are very durable, easy to clean, heat up and cool down quickly, often contain 60% recycled materials and are 100% recyclable. Stainless steel baby bottles will also reduce the exposure to Bisphenol A (BPA).

For over 40 years, Bisphenol A (BPA) was used as a component for all kinds of plastics including bottles, drinking cups and protective lining found in cans and food containers. Even though there were concerns about the potential dangers of BPA exposure to humans since the 1930s, only recently did those concerns influence the distributors and manufacturers to eliminate BPA from their products. BPA can cause numerous health problems including developmental issues in children, early onset of puberty and birth defects.

A recent study done by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the FDA has confirmed that there is validity to this fear of human exposure to BPA. More tests are in progress; however in the meantime, the FDA has recommended that appropriate measures be taken to reduce the amount of Bisphenol A (BPA) exposure to humans.

Some of the steps that the FDA plan to sponsor is the development of alternative linings for cans used for infant formula and food products that do not contain Bisphenol A (BPA) and increase the regulation regarding the use of BPA in food products. The FDA is also helping to decrease the manufacturing of baby bottles and baby products that contain BPA; however this will not happen overnight.

There are other alternatives for feeding babies such as glass bottles and stainless steel baby bottles. Glass is a great option however glass can break or shatter and can be dangerous around an infant which leaves stainless steel baby bottles as the better option.

As Stainless Steel Bottles are made using the purest elements on the earth, they are naturally resistant to bacterial growth and are easy to clean, dishwasher safe and of coarse BPA-free. Most stainless steel bottles are made from food-grade 18/8 stainless steel and contain no toxins.

Some advantages of using stainless steel baby bottles is their ability to heat content quickly and also cool it down quickly either by putting the bottle in hot water or in ice water. They also fit into temperature controlled heating devices for bottles so you can have the controlled temperature you want. As Stainless steel baby bottles are metal, they are not recommended to be heat up in a microwave.

Stainless steel is 100% recyclable and reusable and at Green Bottle, you will find a wide selection of stainless steel baby bottles that are compatible with most brand name nipples.

In the past, whenever I saw bottled water in the store, I never really thought (or cared) about the price we paid for it. I mean, it's bottled water from the mountains, so it must be pure and fresh – the picture on the bottle sure is convincing. Can you imagine if the label had a picture of the landfill in India? Or the waste of oil to produce the bottle or even better a warning of the dangerous and toxic chemicals used to produce the bottle? Would you still buy it?

Here are some frightening facts about bottled water:

Up to 40 percent of bottled water that you buy in the store or vending machine is just filtered tap water! So you're paying a premium price just for this benefit from the manufacturer to the distributor to the store or vending machine. In other words, if you’re worried about what’s inside your tap water; then just buy a filter – I use Brita and I save a lot of money. I also use a stainless steel bottle to carry my water. Stainless steel does not have harsh chemicals and does not contain Bisphenol A (BPA) which is another scare with plastic bottles.

Each year, according to the Pacific Institute, it takes an enormous amount of energy just to manufacture plastic bottles; in fact, manufacturing the plastic bottles in the U.S. uses enough oil and energy to fuel a million cars! Not to mention all the fuel that is wasted to transport the water bottles by plane, ship and truck within the US and globally. So by drinking tap water, you are actually helping to reduce global warming and promoting a Green lifestyle.

Three-fourths of the millions and millions of plastic water bottles sold in the U.S. alone every week go to landfills or to the incinerator which releases harmful toxins in the air including some of the most damaging artificial chemicals. The landfills are such a problem that they are now dumping the bottles in landfills in India. According to the Corporate Accountability International, landfill costs of plastic bottles are ranging $70 million every year. This is another reason to switch to tap water.

Bottled water is not regulated by the government as much as tap water is. As the EPA requires continuous tests and reports of Tap water, the FDA is less stringent with Bottled water which has no reporting requirements. This alone makes tap water the better choice.

If you are concerned about fluoride, chlorine or whatever in tap water, then you should consider buying a water filter that you can attach to your sink or a filter that you can attach to your Stainless steel bottle for water consumption. It is much cheaper and safer than bottled water and will not only protect the environment but will protect your health and save you money as well.

I came across a website called "The Story of Bottled Water" by Annie Leonard, and boy, was that an eye opener. I suggest everyone watch that video as well as "The Story of Stuff".

Have you ever wondered about what happens to all your plastic bottles after you drink the water in them? Do they really recycle all of them? Watch the video and you will be shocked at the piles of plastic bottles in landfills just sitting there as well as bottles washing out to the sea poisoning the marine life.

Like I said, I also reused my plastic bottles filling them with Brita water, thinking that was OK. Boy was I wrong. I discovered that these plastic bottles and many other plastic goods we use on a daily basis contain this dangerous and toxic chemical called Bisphenol-A which can leach into the water with repeated use or even exposure to sunlight and heat. Not only that, as these bottles are for single use only, reusing them may cause bacterial contamination in the bottle as well.

There are so many negatives associated with using plastic bottles that it is not worth even considering their use. Plastic is very difficult to recycle as it is petroleum based and it never really breaks down; it just breaks into small fragments in time. The water that is sold in the bottle is also not necessarily safe either as the chemicals can leach into them not to mention that they don't have stringent laws for the quality of water. Some Bottled water companies even sell tap water as bottled water! Let's not forget that bottled water is quite expensive, running around $1 for a small bottle - it's not worth it.

About a year ago, I was at the store and I came across a stainless steel bottle that was advertising itself as BPA-free as well as a food grade stainless steel bottle. I bought 6 of them for myself and my family. I will not send my kids to school with a plastic bottle of water anymore, it is just too dangerous. We use a Brita filter to reduce the chlorine and fluoride in our tap water and we fill our stainless steel bottles with the filtered tap water and I have to say, it is tastier and better than bottled water, which I found was hard water many times. We take our Stainless steel bottles everywhere including school, work, shopping, playgrounds, and parks and on long drives. There are so many benefits with drinking tap water in a stainless steel bottle but I will list a few.

Stainless steel bottles are reusable.

Stainless steel bottles are light.

Stainless steel water bottles are made with 18/8 food-grade stainless steel (stainless steel 304).

Stainless steel bottles are toxic-free and BPA-free and will not corrode.

Stainless steel bottles are easy to clean and always look great.

You can drink hot or cold beverages in a stainless steel bottle.

Tap water is cheap.

Tap water is regulated by the government and is monitored for its quality.

Tap water tastes great and can be filtered for chlorine or whatever you want to take out of it.

Tap water is healthier; it is NOT stuck in a bottle sitting around in the sun developing bacteria.
