&lt;p&gt;On top of this, 77 Green Deal assessor organisations and the 619 Green Deal advisors they employ have also been accredited, showing clear backing from the construction sector.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The Green Deal lets homes and businesses pay for energy efficiency improvements, like insulation or solar PV, through savings on their fuel bills. &lt;/p&gt;

DESPITE the government’s energy efficiency initiative only launching a month ago, hundreds of people have had Green Deal assessments.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) said huge amount of interest had been shown in the scheme, which offers a loan for home improvements such as insulation, double glazing and solar panels.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;A spokesperson said they had seen 10,000 hits on the online consumer guide and 3,000 calls to their helpline each week.&lt;/p&gt;
