Both of these are fairly simple to accomplish, depending upon whether you are paying attention or not, when you ride dirt bikes. Following a few themes in the heat of the instant, however, will land you safely without scares happening anywhere along the trail or in your mind.

Go with a 4 stroke dirt bike

If you have been considering moving up to a four stroke motor think about the environs and safety as a selling point. When a 2 stroke dirt bike careens up a jump it is prone to explosive bursts of power because of its fuel/oil mixing needs. A 4 stroke motor is a fair bit more sizeable and needs an oil pump to get everything lubed so the power ratios experienced are quite a bit smoother. Finally this gives the ground a bit of a breather because the nobby tires don’t throw quite as much dirt and the air takes a breather because the power spikes are more efficient when you ask for the power. From a safety point of view going with a four stroke makes the bike easier to handle as you manage the bike because your more sure that you’ll get the power you ask for and not the power that may show up unexpectedly.

4 stroke for the trails

The power management aspects of a four stroke engine will help the environment when you are on the trails as well. If you have a fairly good idea of what power you are going to get when you ask for it you can back off and then reestablish it as trail conditions permit. If, for instance, you see a good sized puddle on the trail you could go flying through it at full throttle (which might be fun but environmentally irresponsible) or you could back off a bit and ride around the edges at a responsible speed to reestablish a strong position where the trail is a bit firmer.

How much pressure

Think about how much pressure you are using in your tires as you hit the trails. What sort of soil or substrate are you going to be riding on that particular day? Just because they call them dirt bikes doesnt necessarily mean that youre going to be riding on dirt all day every day. Now does it? If you are heading out to the sand dunes consider your tire pressure before during and after you ride that day. Reducing the pressure for that day may make the riding better for that day, but what about the nest day when you head for a firmer substrate? If you dont stay on top of where and when you are riding you will not only destroy your tires but spend more on gas and send more pollutants into the air.

Check out the gear

Sure you want to look dope on the bike but safety is a good thing to. There is little use in looking good when you ride if the only person that is going to enjoy how you look is the ER nurse. When you pad up consider the materials that you are wearing. Polymer products do the job for joints and head nicely but they are after all oil based products. Heck, just about everything is a polymer base these days, but it doesnt necessarily mean you have to always use it for safety protection. First, stick with the head gear that works, dont skimp here or anywhere for that matter. When to look around and think, however, is in the ballistic and extremity areas. Here, think about spun fibers and what they offer instead of going for the hard polymer choice. These products are flexible and can give the protection you need if the right choices are made. The environment will thank you with one karma point.

Okay, Subaru fanslisten up! Do you think that the all new B9 Tribeca is a beautiful vehicle or is it an ugly duckling? As for me, I have mixed feelings. This particular SUV certainly doesnt look like any other Subaru, nor does it easily get confused with any other SUV on the market. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder; lets take a look at what sets the B9 Tribeca apart from the pack.

The first time I saw Subarus new entry up close I first thought it was Porsches Cayenne. No, the vehicles dont look alike, but the B9 Tribeca evoked a similar response for me: like the Cayenne, it represents a major departure from all other models. For example, the B9 Tribeca offers the following:

5 or 7 passenger seating. This is the first Subaru built that will seat more than five adults.

Big prices: The B9s base price starts at about $32K.

Side curtain airbags for front seating passengers and second seating passengers [except for the person stuck in the middle seat]

All wheel drive, but you knew that already.

A plush interior. Subaru says that leather trimmed upholstery is available as are heated seats, rear cabin air conditioning, and a sliding glass moon roof.

The B9 is built on a stretched Outback platform and at 66.4 inches it is the tallest vehicle made be Subaru. Oddly, it shares the same 3.0L V6 engine as the Outback, so one can only wonder how hard it will work with 7 passengers onboard navigating steep hills and rounding corners?I searched far and wide for the reason behind the name B9 Tribeca and found nothing definitive. One auto critic contended that the B9 part of the name came from a previous concept car that was shown by Subaru at car shows, while two reports say that the Tribeca part of the name is from the area of New York City that is the TRIangle BEneath CAnal Street neighborhood of Manhattan. Other than the vehicle being built in Indiana, there isnt any relevancy in the name. One may think that the B9 portion of the name will prove to be more of a nuisance to remember as consumers have a difficult enough time remembering some two syllable model names, let alone two words.

Personally, I think the idea of building a larger Subaru is wise, especially since Subaru owners previously had no where to go beyond the current crop of compact SUVS and cars in their line up. Beyond that I believe the controversial looks and small engine will disappoint buyers and it may take new sheet metal and a beefier engine to stimulate sales.

Whether you drive a Mercedes, a motorbike or a pickup truck, you probably have disc brakes on your vehicle. And even though you probably never think about their function, they are the single most important function on your vehicle. Though there are several types of motor brakes, the drum and the disk, the disk brakes are more commonly used. Disc brakes are far better than drum brakes because of their powerful stopping ability. Disc brakes handle substantially better in wet weather conditions. Why chance anything but the best?

What are Disc Brakes?

Put simply, disc brakes consist of two pads that grasp a rotating disk. The disk, or rotor, connects to the wheels by an axle. You control the grasping power. When you pull on the brake, the clamps come together on the disk, forcing it to stop spinning and causing your vehicle to slow down and eventually stop.

How Do You Control Disk Breaks?

In a car, controlling your disk brakes is as simple as pressing the brake pedal or pulling up on the emergency brake. For motorbikes, however, there are two ways to slow it down. You can use the right hand lever or the rear left foot lever. They actually work better when you use them together to better the efficiency and lengthen the life of the disc brakes and pads.

How To Maintain Disk Brakes?

Regardless of the type of vehicle you drive, you will probably need to consider break maintenance or replacement at some point. It is important to check the thickness of your brake pads. If these pads are bare they can cause pricey damage to your disc brakes.

You should also keep an eye on your vehicles brake fluid. Your vehicle will run more efficiently with the occasional dose of fresh break fluid.

Replacing the break pads and the disc brakes fairly easily on your own. Dont hesitate to get help if you are unsure though. A simple mistake like a poorly fitted brake pad can cause scarring to your disk brake.

What Type of Damage is Possible To Your Disc Brakes?

There are several ways your break disks can show damage. They can warp, scar or crack. Its best if you can catch these signs of damage early on and repair them as quickly as possible to limit further damage to your disk breaks. Unfortunately, once they crack, the disc brakes are not repairable. It also helps to get the help of a certified professional when it comes to making repairs to your disc brakes.

How Are Disc Brakes Designed?

These days, the designs of the disc brakes vary greatly. Some are made in classic solid steel, but others have special hallowed out sections that allow the extra built up heat to escape. These slotted steel wheels may help prolong the life of the discs because they reduce built-up heat and cut back on the possibility of warping. The creative designs are endless and each design has a different effect on the performance of your braking system.

There are various dirt bike competitions like Motocross and various trial events where variants of a large number of dirt bikes compete with each other.

An interesting fact to note is that dirt bikes have no number plates. Every year the US Department of Motor Vehicles issues green stickers especially for dirt bikes. Another important fact to take care of is that dirt bikes are not allowed on city streets as they are only allowed to be ridden on off-road tracks.

Different Types of Dirt Bikes

Some of the bikes that you might see when it comes to dirt bikes are Yamaha YZ, Yamaha WR, Yamaha DT, Honda CRM, Honda CRX, Kawasaki KX, Kawasaki, KLR, and Suzuki RM, amongst various others. Though al these bikes have their own distinctive features they have one thing in common. They are light, strong, and have the ability to handle the roughest of tracks.

The Composition of the Dirt Bike

Dirt bikes are mainly built of either a two-stroke engine or a four- stroke engine. In a two stroke engine the mixture of oil and gas is ignited in the cylinder, and thus not only does the bike get powered up, but the engine is also lubricated in one go. The four stroke dirt bike engine is like a smaller version of the car engine wherein, the gas is ignited but the oil can also be used again.

If you are looking for differences between a normal street bike and dirt bike then you have to look no further than the suspension of the dirt bike. They have a higher ground clearance and not only this; they are much lighter as well. Their tires are also different, and have deep treads in them, so as to; offer them a better amount of traction through, gravel, sand, dirt or mud.

Moreover, the engine of the dirt bikes is also placed at a much higher level as compared to normal bikes, to protect it from various obstructions like rocks etc. Also, the gas tank installed in the mid-section offers it a better balance.

Choice of a Dirt Bike

There is a large amount of difference between what you want and what you really need. The one significant parameter that will determine the kind of dirt bike that you want to buy is dependant on your own skill sets. If you are a beginner it wouldnt be a good idea for you to buy a mean machine that you have seen speeding its way to glory in a Motocross Race.

The purpose of your purchase is also a key determinant of the kind of dirt bike that you purchase. If your objective is to have fun just riding with your friends and going out on trail rides then, you definitely do not want to buy a full blown racer dirt bike. On the other hand if you want to buy the bike, primarily for a racing purpose then you must surely get a true dirt bike racer.

End Words

Everyone is actually on a budget. Nobody wants to buy a dirt bike that is not within their means. Moreover, if you are on a minimal budget and cannot find a dirt bike to suit your purpose; then its best that you tone down your demands a little and think of a middle-weight, slightly used dirt bike.

There are times when some of the best buys, in terms of dirt bikes, can turn out to be some of the most underrated bikes that are available in the market. Whatever the bike you buy, its important that your objective is to have some fun. Dont think beyond having an exciting time, riding your bike!

Acura, as a brand, has been holding up its share in its commitment of crafting, introducing, and bringing to the market vehicles that are engineered so as to provide excellent performance. And once again, Acura has added another vehicle to this list and at the same reinforcing the brands commitment. Welcome the all-new 2006 Acura CL.

The 2006 Acura CL has been redesigned and reengineered in almost every little detail possible. This new vehicle promises to deliver higher levels of performance, technological innovations, engineering achievements, passenger safety, and overall style. It has also been destined to compete with the existing BMW 328Ci, the Volvo C70, and the Mercedes Benz CLK320. This vehicle has been again designed so as to provide and exude the smooth and flowing lines of the classic coupes of the European Gran Turismo. However, this does not overbear the styling that is only from an Acura. Making the 2006 Acura CL a remarkable vehicle is that it has been able to combine the past, tradition, and heritage with modernity and technology. This vehicle surely possesses encompassing efficiency with its powerful engines, as well as revolutionary safety features and high technology vehicle management systems that are controls by computers.

There are two engine options for the 2006 Acura CL. It is either the Acura 3.2 liter VTEC V6 engine with 24 valves, or the 3.2 power plant that has the capacity to create 225 horsepower. As per interior volume, this all-new vehicle sports 96.5 cubic feet of this, which is a 4.6 cubic feet increase from the previous vehicle. It also sports some 192.0 inches of length and 70.6 inches in its width. Safety features have been packed in this vehicle. The list includes standard front airbags, advanced side airbags with front passenger height and position sensors, and the standard anti-lock brakes as well as the Traction Control System. Offered as an option for the 2006 Acura CL is the Acura Navigation System. This system provides a satellite-linked nationwide coverage done through the use of a DVD (Digital Versatile Disc) database located on board. The vehicle also sports modifications like CompTech cold air intake, certified exhaust headers, CompTech high-flow exhaust system, Brembo brakes, sport suspension with Titanium front upper strut bar, 19-inch Maya DTM wheels, front and rear bumpers with side moldings, a deck lid tail spoiler, and custom aluminum exhaust tips.

For more information about the Acura CL as well as to purchase Acura CL accessories and parts, customers can visit Auto Accessories Giant. The list includes steering wheel covers, alignment kits, shock absorbers, emblems, brake rotors, and a whole lot more.

The 2006 Acura CL is one coupe that is really worth looking into. Although this vehicle has its share of downs like a confusing navigation system controls, and cramped head room as well as entry and exit for the rear seats, the 2006 Acura CL still shines amidst these with its quick acceleration, smooth steering as well as handling, and a perfect build quality.

Is your business using too much paper? Do you want to be green? Perhaps you are just tired of losing paperwork because of the overabundance of paperwork that you have? If this is the case we have a solution you might want to consider for at least one aspect of your business.

There are products on the market that can help you reduce the paperwork you have to look through and keep on hand. These products are known as the fuel card. A card like this allows you to track what each driver is spending on a monthly basis for fuel. Your driver doesnt have to keep a box of receipts in their vehicle anymore. They do not have to hunt for a lost receipt. Instead, they can just go to you at the end of the month to get their reimbursement for money spent on fuel.

You or your management team can look at the invoice sent by the fuel company. They can examine each drivers record to see what was spent and if there were any other goods on the receipt. At this point they can draw-up a cheque for the reimbursement of funds spent on fuel.

It is simple and greener. There is another benefit to eliminating receipts, but using the invoices that come in. There is a potential to earn 50 to 100 per cent of the VAT back on your taxes. To do this you have to be able to prove that the vehicle was used for work all or part of the time. With invoices showing the amount of fuel spent accurately, you can turn the information over in order to get your refund.

Things like this are just some of the benefits to using the fuel card. There are plenty of other benefits such as getting 10p off at the pump each time your vehicle fills up. You also have a better record of how many times your driver is filling up at the pump. Since they are limited to the stations the cards work at you can also track where they are going for fuel.

The bottom line is more control on your business expenditures when it comes to fuel. For other benefits you might want to combine fuel cards with fleet tracking. This rounds out your fleet nicely for observing where issues may exist and getting them solved quickly.

Jeep has finally done it. A 7 passenger trail rated Jeep is now available at a dealer near you. Long a maker of manly SUVs, the Commander holds true to form as it can easily be taken off road as well as down the highway. Unlike more pedestrian models, the Commander looks every bit the rugged vehicle that it is. For Jeep fans who need the extra room the Commander offers space not available in any Jeep since the Wagoneer was retired a generation ago. Lets take a look at the 2006 Jeep Commander, the focus of this review.

So, why build a seven passenger Jeep? To give customers a choice, thats why. With existing models able to carry only five passengers or less, the Commander meets the demand for a larger model. Instead of losing sales to GM or Ford, Jeep is now able to offer a vehicle that will keep customers from leaving for bigger and roomier models.

The Commander looks a lot like the Cherokee, which was retired in 2001 after an 18 year run. The boxy Cherokee was a favorite with many and the Commander successfully incorporates the Cherokees look and body style.

As it is, the Commander is not a huge beast. At just two inches longer than the Gran Cherokee, the Commander makes use of available space without adding a tremendous amount of bulk.

Key features of the Commander include:

3 engine choices: a 3.7-Liter V6; 4.7-Liter V8 MPI; 5.7-Liter HEMI Multi-Displacement

2 transmission choices: a pair of five speed automatics

3 four wheel drive systems

Anti-Lock 4-Wheel Disc Brakes

3 Sound Systems: AM/FM Stereo with CD Player and Changer Controls; an AM/FM Stereo Radio w/In-Dash 6-Disc CD/MP3 Player; or a DVD-based GPS Navigation System with 6-CD/MP3 Changer

Leather trimmed or bucket seats

Supplemental Side Curtain Air Bags In All Rows

The usual accouterments including air conditioning, bucket seats, power everything, etc.Jeep gives owners the option of owning a traditional rear wheel drive Commander or 4×4 models. Base price for the entry level Commander starts at just over $28,000 while the fully loaded Commander Limited retails at just under forty thousand. Prices for the Commander are on par with those in its class.

I like what Jeep has done with the Commander and think that you will too. I am, however, holding my breathe as Jeep prepares to introduce its first non-trail rated model [sacrilege] next year; in the meantime the Commander carries on the Jeep tradition with much distinction and aplomb.

There is a rapid advancement in the field of heavy equipment technology. Unlike the earlier days now, using global positioning satellite technology, heavy equipment placed anywhere in the world can be checked or diagnosed. Finding the right new equipment suitable is also getting to be a big challenge. With lot of options and features to consider, it will be an overwhelming chore.

Among the heavy equipment, backhoe-loaders are used in small demolitions, breaking asphalt, construction, digging holes/excavating, light transportation of building materials, powering building equipment, and paving roads. To smash concrete and rock, tools such as breakers can be used instead of the backhoe bucket. To empty its load more quickly and efficiently, some loader buckets have a retractable bottom. Grading and scratching off sand is executed with retractable-bottom loader buckets. The front assembly may be permanently mounted or have a removable attachment. Often other devices and tools replace the bucket. In order to mount different attachments to the loader, the backhoe loader must be equipped with a tool coupler. Find more info at http://www.heavy-equipment4u.info

Bulldozers are heavy equipment but they are also large and tracked engineering vehicles. With the mobility and ground hold given by the tracks they can move through very rough terrain. Swamp tracks in bulldozers are merely extra wide tracks.

The three distinct assemblies of compact hydraulic excavators are workgroup, undercarriage and house. The boom, arm or dipper and attachments such as bucket and breaker are parts of the workgroup of a compact hydraulic excavator. They are connected to the front of the house structure of the excavator via a swing frame that allows the workgroup to be hydraulically pivoted right or left to achieve offset digging for trenching.

Harvesters today do practically all of the commercial felling in Sweden and Finland and they were developed in these countries. Harvesters work best in less difficult terrain while clear cutting areas of forest. Small and very agile harvesters are used in the Nordic countries for thinning operations.
An iron or a cylinder placed between two metal rods so that it is able to freely slide down and up are included in the pile drivers. A pulley system is used to raise the cylinder which may involve the use of manual labor, steam or hydraulics. Small explosions in the chamber are used in modern pile drivers to raise the cylinder.

A piece of heavy equipment used for earthmoving in civil engineering, is a wheel tractor-scraper. A vertically moveable hopper in the rear part with a sharp horizontal front edge does the scraping. Raising and lowering of the hopper is done hydraulically. The front edge cuts into the soil like a cheese-cutter when the hopper is lowered.

What are dirt bike trails?

While dirt bike racing and motocross is normally done on designated tracks that are set out and predefined, dirt bike trails are the equivalent of free ride. In some areas you can just head off to a decent dirt bike trail and ride how you want and where you want. Obviously there are usually some pretty basic rules to try and encourage safe riding and lower the risks of dangerous accidents but if you see a better route, you can take it.

There are many different difficulties of dirt bike trails; ranging from beginner trails to difficult trails and if youre new to trailing then you should start at the very beginning and work your way up as you gain more confidence, skill and exposure.

What are trails bikes?

Trails bikes are different to other types of dirt bikes, because they are designed for use both on and off road and while the ride on the road can be quite bumpy the bike gives you the perfect way to get you from one trail to the next. Obviously, this compatibility for both road and track means that the bikes are an all-rounder; they are good for roads and good for tracks but not exceptional at either.

The freedom that trails bikes and trail racing offers means that trail riding has a massive following and many trail bikers will tell you that its the only real dirt bike riding there is.

Can anyone try dirt bike trails?

Trails are an easily accessible form of dirt bike riding but in order to ride your trail bike on the road you will, of course, need the same license, tax and certificates as you would with a standard road bike. To ride them on a trail, though, this isnt necessary although some more organized trails will only consider experienced riders so check before you travel. There are many trails all over the world, and in some areas of the world you dont have to use the predefined trails, but you should always take care when riding anywhere that there may be unseen obstacles or pedestrians.

There are groups of people all over the world who travel together to find the best trails and even a cursory glance on the Internet can find a plethora of sites offering details, directions and even riders guides to some of the best trails in the world. If youve got a bit of money to spare you can sign up to a premium site and get new trails added as and when they are opened or discovered. These have details of some of the more obscure trails in the world sourced by professional die-hard trail bikers.
