Phoenix Max 550W 12VAC Wind Turbine

GreenergyStar Phoenix Max 550W 12V Wind Turbine
Generator System

Connection Overview:
The Wind Generator is connected to the 3 Phase Rectifier, which changes the Alternative Current output by the generator to Direct Current (AC to DC). Electricity generated by the wind turbine are then stored to batteries. Note: the 12V Batteries above are not included.

If your home or farm is connected to the power grid, on windier days you may be able to sell excess power generated by your wind turbine to your utility. At other times when the turbine cannot generate all the power you need, you would buy power from the grid. This concept is called net metering.

Even if net metering is unavailable, you might be able to reduce your power bills by using the electricity generated by wind turbines, and become less dependent on your utility.

Power curve: Performance curve of power output versus wind speed

Since wind speed increases with height, increases to the tower height can mean enormous increases in the amount of electricity generated by a wind turbine.

Choose the right color for your plants
- Blue light stimulate stem and leaf growth
- Red light stimulate flowering and seed production
- Green and Yellow light are not as useful

Carotenoid Synthesis

Carotenoids are required for plants to stay healthy. They have the ability to absorb destructive free radicals from solar damage and chlorophyll production. With the presence of carotenoid, plants will be able to produce more chlorophyll which will result the plant having a deeper green. Carotenoid has an absorption peak of 612nm (Orange light), in addition for maintaining the plants health, they will also help in photosynthesis because the energy they absorbed will be passed to chlorophyll.

Solar Grid Tie Inverter 400W- Grid Power II FAQs

1. Can this inverter could be hooked up to a single 12 volt car battery? I have a Isuzu Diesel running on free fuel. If your inverter was fed energy continuously for 12 hours per day, how much could this offset you power consumption? I use Alabama power and my bill runs about $240 per month.
Yes, this inverter will work with 12V battery. If the inverter runs at 400W for 12 hours, it will generate 4.8kWh. A typical home in North America usually consumes 30kWh per day. As a side note, if you are using solar panels you will get around 6-8 hours of sunlight in summer (depending on your location).

2. Is linking with the UK grid the same as us rewiring?
The wiring to UK grid is the same. However, you might need another AC cable because the one that comes with this inverter is an America standard one.

3. I bought a gp2-400 from you. I was wondering what kind of charge controller would work. Would a 500 watt controller not work? Or must it be exactly 400 watts (the maximum output of gp2-400).
A 500W controller would work, but any power above 400W will be wasted.

4. How can you sync the 60 Hz in the US? Also, we have a new PG&E "Smart" Meter that the power company in California doesn't have to read.. It sends the info directly over the power lines.. Will your Grid Tie Inverter actually run the meter backwards and supply us with a check?
This inverter has frequency ranging from 46-65Hz. So it will have no problem synchronizing with 60Hz. For digital meters, you have to be careful because some are programmed to be irreversible. However, if you get a starter kit like this, most of the time you will only be lower your electricity consumption instead of sending power back to the grid. You would need more panels to do that.

5. Is there protection for the home's wiring and the Grid Tie Inverter?
I assume you mean the amperage capacity of your home wiring? Each inverter will maximally produce around 3.6 amps (110V). A typical home circuit will have at least 15A capacity. You only need to worry about over loading the circuit when you stack 4 to 5 of this unit together.

6. What do you mean by circuit amperage limit-30A? So my limit is only 500W fot 2 inverters?
Circuit amperage limit is … how much current your plug can handle. Normal outlets usually can handle 15A. And if you times that by voltage 110V, then that means it can handle around 1650W, which is equivalent to around 4 inverters.

7. I have a question about power outages? Now when the power goes out does it simply overload and blow the fuse? Reason I ask is when the power does go out, I would like to kill my main breaker and soly run nessesary items off my solar/wind supply.
When the grid goes down, the inverter will shut off its output, so service man outside wont get electrocuted. You will need a non grid tie inverter if you need power during a black out.

Tips for going green at home

Tips for going green at home

If you want to go green in your home, and save a little money at the same time, it isn't difficult anymore. As the planet faces an uncertain future of global warming, which is believed to be the result of us all burning fossil fuels indiscriminately, we all have a responsibility to do the best we can to redress the balance. Here are some vital tips to help you get started.

Your home is where you spend a lot of your income and time to maintain, so it makes sense to be spending it as efficiently as possible. You can start to go green in your home by insulating most corners of your house. Loft insulation, wall cavity insulation, double or even triple glazing it will all make a tremendous difference. Or simply just apply caulk and weather stripping to insulate your home. Yes, there is an investment to consider, but you will save more money in the long term.

Most of us use too much water. Go green in our home means we have to be more aware of our water usage. We could all save one billion gallons of water a year by changing our old flush toilet cisterns. The old ones use about 3.5 gallons per flush, but the new high-efficiency ones use just over one and a quarter gallon. It makes a big difference! If you did only this to go green in the home you would save 20,000 gallons of water every year, and pay a lot less in water bills.

The standard light bulbs that most households have are very inefficient. Compact fluorescent light bulbs burn around 5% of the old bulbs and they last 10 times longer. They may cost slightly more to buy initially, but this is a easier way to go green and save a bundle in the long run. You can do even better by installing LEDs instead. The LED lights are almost twice as efficient as even the compact fluorescent light bulbs, and they will last up to 10 years.

Heat leaks out of a house in winter, and into the house in summer. Double check your loft, your wall cavities, your windows and your doors. Sort out all of these and you can go green in the home and really to save too.

Home utilities are a drain on energy! Unplug electronics when not in use, which can save you as much as 20% of power when not turned on. Look into the possibility of replacements of high-use utilities with an energy efficient air conditioner, furnace, dishwasher or water heater. Consider installing solar panels on your roof top to capture free heat from the sun.

Did you know that washing powders these days are so good that they don't really need hot water? Your washing machine uses most of its energy heating the water, so wash your clothes cold. Going green need not to be expensive, it is the consistancy of good habits that count!

750W 12V Wind Generator

750W 12V Wind Generator

Connection Overview:
The Wind Generator is connected to the Solar Wind Hybrid Charge Controller, which changes the Alternative Current output by the generator to Direct Current (AC to DC).

Solar roofing

Solar roofing

Posted: Tue, 29 Dec 2009 02:29:24 GMT

Solar roofing is growing ever more popular with its increasingly recognized economic benefits. It is slowly becoming the preferred alternative to regular electricity and heating. Financially, solar roofing dramatically reduces both heating and electricity bills by providing enough output to power the entire house or building, and integrating advanced plumbing systems. The heating and cooling costs can be cut by up to 30%, and electricity bills reduced to about $5 for average sized homes, simply by installing solar roofing systems. Combined with some durable roofing materials such as Asphalt, PVC, and metal, solar roofing can also provide non penetrable, lasting, and strong roofing sheathing for both residential and industrial applications.

Solar Roofing Design
Solar roofing is purchased most commonly in panel form, yet is also available in shingles, roof tiles, and sheets. Many of today’s solar roofing systems are interlocking, which allow for simple installation and no mechanical fastening. Most solar roofing systems do not require any attachments or modifications to be made to your existing roof, and are also lightweight making them easy to handle and install. Solar panels roofing can be bought in a range of sizes, shapes, and colors, but most importantly, can be integrated with your existing roof to appear virtually unnoticeable or even aesthetically enhance it.

Making a Solar Roofing Investment
Solar roofing provides so many economic benefits, that despite its initial costs, it is ultimately a major investment towards both your home/building and your savings account. If you have decided to or are considering converting to a solar roof solution, you should most definitely speak with an expert.

(source: http://www.roof101.com)
