Greenlight Operations was proud to be a part of the presentation of “Mirrors of Chartres Street: Faulkner in New Orleans / New Orleans in Faulkner” which brought to life the experience of New Orleans circa 1925 through the senses of the great Southern writer William Faulkner. This lively one-man play uncovered the Nobel Laureate’s gritty stories, hilariously touching family correspondence, and highly entertaining characters. Working in the capacity of Production Management, Karissa Kary worked with Director Perry Martin, (“A Different Woman”, 2005) on his return to New York to bring another world premiere to FringeNYC.

A mythical figure in the Great State of Louisiana, the image of Huey Long has endured as a prominent politician, powerful representative for the poor and weak, and a commanding force of social structures. Complicated and controversial, Huey was a genuine demagogue, a legitimate tyrant, a secular prophet, and now a tragic hero. Huey was able to do it all in the realm of making himself visible and important in the eyes of his enemies and supporters. Here Platon, who has admired the multi-faceted image of the “Redneck” going “Kingfish,” gives us insight into a few new layers of one of Louisiana’s most famous sons. Looking at others studies of “The Kingfing” starting with T. Harry Williams “good mass leader” and examining his transition through Allan Brinkley’s “product of the Great Depression” to Robert Penn Warren “fictionalized idealist man of the people corrupted by success,” Huey completed the birth and passage of himself as the main character in a fabulous and heartbreaking Greek tragedy. An instructive read, highly recommended for high school and college students interested in local politics and mythology applied to real life challenges.

World Affairs Council of New Orleans (WACNO)

As the Executive Director for the World Affairs Council of New Orleans, Greenlight/ Eduardo was in charge of carrying out a program set by the Board of Directors.

Working during the expansion of their online outreach and programming Eduardo/Greenlight has developed and managed a positive relationship with a volunteer workforce of 4 interns, numerous important organizations in New Orleans, and the Board of Directors, currently formed by 20 accomplished individuals. In addition, Greenlight has supervised the expansion plan of WACNO membership base, a network of 50+ corporate and individual members, as well as provided general information and answers to the general public interested in the programming and projects of the World Affairs Council.
