The Malaysian Games and Comic Convention was last weekend and I’ve failed to make it. Regret! All those sweet superhero merchandise, toys, cosplay, comics, gaming news, taun taun & ewok smelling soap and a chance to meet the 501st Legion Malaysia… all hopes are dashed. Only thing to do is suck it up and hang on till next year.

The other reason why I was trying to make it there was because of a bag we sponsored for a contest. It was a brown Bootstrap Origin and the organizers got it decked with illustrations from a few many local comic greats, done is old school marker pen style. Well, the only glimpse we have are a few photos taken by G&B Comics which I’ve screen captured and posted here without their approval. So, big thanks for their snappy camera work and please don’t sue 8). If your in Singapore, I’m sure you’ll check out their store or website http://www.comic.com.sg/ for some superhero awesomeness. Or simply LIKE them on Facebook http://www.facebook.com/GnBcomic.

Lefty of Gilamon (dude holding up the bag) was one of the greats that had illustrated on the bag. With big thanks to the crew of MGCC for allowing us the great opportunity to play a small part in this amazing weekend. We’ll be looking forward to a much bigger participation next year when our operation here in JunkMonkey Central is a little more complete.

Have a super week ahead peeps!

WOW! Awhile back when we sent over our JunkMonkey Heretic to Carryology.com, we only expected a product review by one of the industry’s dedicated blog on the subject of Carry in hope of pitting our best bag to international standards. We really wanted to see where we stand and how we can be better at our game.

Well, Carryology (like so many instance) came back with more than what we bargained for. The JunkMonkey Heretic was pitted against one of Timbuk2′s (WHAT!!! AGAINST A GOD!) best and frankly, all I ask is that we survive the battle.

The review had given us a gazillion amazing points to ponder on for the next revision and we owe so much to Ando and the folks at Carryology for bringing us this amazing piece. Carryology, thank you!

OK! Back to work!

Hello there,

Got you some pictures for greenroom. Nothing special.. just that it went halfway round the world and back !

Btw, managed to find some ways to enhance your bags. A week with your bag does yield some interesting facts.

Cheers
Scoot

We’ve been super busy lately with the new office setup, coupled with a website and product revamp. Not to mention, the nagging notion of re starting ConcreteJungle and new product development. Here’s a quick rundown…

JunkMonkey Central
The new office is amazing. Apart from the fact that I don’t need to work from home, the venue offers many opportunities for better scale of production. Not to forget the many venues for some amazing photography. We managed to setup a small little corner for retail. Not like there will be a tremendous lot of people driving all the way to Kajang just for us, but this space allows many opportunities for testing purpose. Fine tuning our approach to retail.

New Website
Our new website is finally up. We’ve been operating on the guise of a blogshop for awhile and as it did help carve the right story about our work, we knew deep inside, to continually scale upwards, we had to one day move away from the blog approach to a more focus approach. That day is now. We are still very much into ConcreteJungle and feels strongly that the podcast is an integral part of our business and community of fans. Perhaps, now I’ll spend more time on fine tuning production value.

Product Development
I’m a big fan of Kaizen culture. And continuous improvement is hotwired inside me. We’re working doubly hard to bring new features to our existing products while at the same time working on new products from scratch. Sigh… if only there were more hours in a day.

Well, its been a good start lately.
